The staff is the most kind and accommodating people in a neat and relaxing setting. Historical general store with a lot to offer: grocery with meat department, beer and wine, coffee, greeting cards, office supplies, clothing, and hardware / home supplies, just to name the things I remember seeing. Also gas and diesel. This is a family business worth supporting.

I’m not sure why this is a must see. It’s dirty and dusty . I felt like I was on a movie set from the 70s . It’s in a ramshackle building with cardboard signs . It’s more like a grocery store with some tape and string for sale in a back corner. Don’t waste your time or money. There are many other general stores in Vt worth the gas money .

I love this little general store! It’s the quintessential location of a little New England town. The staff are so friendly. They have a deli, many groceries, and a whole hardware section in the back! Amazing staple visit when you go to Norwich. You can’t go without it!

They aren't kidding about " if they don't have it you don't need it".After living in the area nearly 10 years a friend showed me the ' back rooms' today. It was like the little general store expanded into a country version of Macy's....but way cooler.Thanks Dan & Whit's!

Classic Vermont.My father-in-law was one of the meat cutters here in the 80's and 90's. We visited in Aug 2017 after 24 years of not stepping foot inside and it hasn't changed a bit. It's true if they don't have it- you don't need it. Grab a bite to eat, you can't go wrong and be sure to snap some Dan & Whits merchandise. What a classic Vermont country store, enjoy the locals chatting.

We stopped by to buy maple syrup, apparently a must-buy for out-of-state visitors. The store looks quite ordinary, until we read about it on a New York Times article a few days later. The article, probably one of the stories in the run up to the 2018 Winter Olympics, featured Norwich as a training ground for Olympians and mentioned this store as a kind of institution in the small town. The article even quoted the store's famous slogan, "If we don't have it, you don't need it".

There's a lot of local small items fresh and refrigerated and Frozen foods a lot of nice local breads we picked up a few items and we're very happy. It's also fun just to look around. A little bit of everything

While a tad expensive, they have many unique local made items along with a great selection if such as kitchen, toys, sewing, pet, outdoor, and hardware items. They recently started "The Wall of Kindness" which is a place to choose/donate unused clothing. This speaks volumes of their commitment to their community. Make the time to stop by!

I just stopped in as I needed to get some water, but was pleasantly surprised at the lunch options, including pesto chicken, and taziki Gyro. Supposedly it was a brand new menu they’ve unveiled. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised. The gyro was delicious.

Awesome place. Such a wide array of products available at Dan and Whits. The gentleman that waited on me at the deli gave me excellent service. Very helpful and courteous. He found out exactly what I wanted and executed the order perfectly. I've been going to this store for 20+ years and they continue to give great service. Loved the small town general store atmosphere. You all are doing an excellent job. Thank you for staying in business for the community. Keep up the good work. Thank you for your service.

After watching the CBS, On The Road segment a few weeks ago, and because we were visiting the area; my wife and I stopped in at Dan &Whit’s General Store. We wanted to show our support, as we always try to do with mom and pop stores. When we entered, we were immediately greeted with “good mornings” by the two lovely ladies at the registers. As we walked around we were amazed at how big this store is and I really mean that…from the outside it looks like a regular little store but that is a big understatement.Why, well because after greeting the owner in his back little office and after telling him we saw his story on CBS he told us with a big smile to keep wondering further back into the store we were done yet. When we did, it was like stepping into a whole different store full of hardware merchandise. It’s true what they say (if they don’t have it you don’t need it), lol.For us it was worth stepping back in time, we purchased some Christmas and food items. Go and pay them a visit if you are in the area and lend them some support.

This store is basically never ending. Every time I go I find new things… like the attic which has clothes, shoes, skis and more. Other then that it has a deli, refrigerated drinks, ice cream, and other snacks. Oh and I forgot to mention the basement - a treasure trove of things you definitely need.

One of the best small-town general stores that you will encounter. Staff is friendly and helpful, there's a wide selection of high quality locally sourced products.. as well as all of your typical popular mass-produced options. The in-store deli is probably the best part, in my opinion. They also sell gas.

Coolest little store ever, they have anything you might be looking for! And the store is much bigger than you think. I think we met the Dan (owner) and he was the most friendliest guy ever as well as the most helpful. Asked us where we are headed towards as it was late in the night and he recommended something that would help us stay up for the drive. Will need to visit again!

I would highly recommend stopping by Dan & Whit's. Everything was genuinely priced, with a variety of delicious options. I loved Aunt Nellie's pickled pearl onions. Their black forest ham deli meat. Fresh off the bone. Caine's pickled chips perfect. I plan on visiting Dan & Whit's once a week as a frequent flyer. The staff were very helpful and friendly. That welcome home feel. They get my vote!

Always a nice place to shop. If I can't find something they usually have it or can order it for me. Believe me they have everything. Cool that you can get stuff for dinner, clothing and gardening supplies all under one roof. You dont find that much any more. Oh and if you need your ice cream fix the have a small ice cream shop too.

If you live in or visit the Upper Valley, it's a must to check out Dan & Whit'sThe deli has good food and they are liable to have other stuff you need (hence the motto). Be sure to check out the back area behind the deli, you'll find gardening and outdoor items back there and you might miss that part of the store if you're not aware

I love the older generation stores, only reason i say 3 stars is due to their beyond nasty restrooms. They keep them locked up at night so really there us never any excuse as to why its so horrible. If it wasnt for that alone *especially due to the newest threat of covid ) all other services would be a 5 star in my book.
