The trees at this state park are incredible. Huge, majestic, breathtaking. When I saw them, I found myself thinking about all the history they witnessed and wisdom they held (and I'm not some "new age" goof -- that's just how incredible these trees are).I tried to take some photos, but the trees are so large that they defy being captured on a photo. (I did get a few).Too see them requires a shorty, flat, easy walk on the trail that goes around the perimeter of the park. It's worth it.

Open green space with sunshine and a cool lake breeze. Plentiful well-manicured trees for shade. Small, clean beachfront. Immaculate bathrooms. Dog friendly (on-leash). What a great spot!

Not sure why some reviews are mentioning restaurants for a state park.My wife and I took a quick 1 mike walk hereand it was very enjoyable. They also have a swimming area (no lifeguards), RV area, multiple picnic areas with metal grills (bring your own charcoal), and a performance area for live music. No frills but sometimes simple is best.

This was a short nice park for a chill, good length walk through the woods with the dog. The trail was nicely maintained, with elevated beams covered with nonskid roof shingles laid over the more muddy/wet areas to help you navigate across easily. We were happy to have found this gem and will be back.

Comfortable family and pet friendly beach. Sand beach floor is still pretty comfortable for bare feet, though the occasional rock or clam can be stepped on. Bathrooms are pretty clean and stocked. Admission as of July 30 2022 is $4 adults and $2 children for the day. Picnic and gathering areas are decent, plenty of space for fun.

We visited the park after Labor Day and most of the park was empty and partially shut down. However the lady running the campground registration, the campground was open, was super nice and guided us to a picnic table under a shelter, near the registration office. What we saw of the park was clean and well maintained.

Beautiful grassy fields with lots of picnic tables. Was quiet on a Monday in June, but probably busier in summer. Beach was OK - small and near the road which was a little noisy, but the road was out of sight. Beach had lots of natural debris (leaves, sticks, gravel) so it didn't feel very well kept, but perhaps they are still doing spring clean up. No trash in sight! Nature trail was short and flat...good with littles. Bathrooms were primitive but clean. It's pack in pack out. Good spot for a picnic, splash, BBQ, lawn game, or short walk in the woods.

Beautiful park all year round. Great for picnicking in the summer and dog friendly! In the winter it's a great access for ice fishing and good for a quick hike on the short trail.

Good open space for picnics with kids. Tables and lots of room to spread out. A short hiking trail around the west side of the park is also a great kids hike.

Well kept lawns. Great place for a family get together. 54 acres of kept lawn, walking trails, small place to swim. A large pic_nic pavillion you can rent. It's a bit pricey at 100.00.

Well maintained little park. Pit toilets that are clean and do not stink. Don’t think I’ve ever before been in a pit toilet that didn’t stink!

Nice beach and hiking area. There was allot of stagnant water & unbowed high grass which made for allot of mosquitoes. The state really needs to give more attention to the state parks for maintenance and bug control.

Pleasant park with plenty of space, nice beach and good facilities. Water shoes recommended because of the sharp clay shells.
