If you are traveling with your pet and need Veternary service do not call NewburyVeterinary service as they are not taking new clients. I just got off the phone with them. No help to the traveler.

I switched to them a couple of years ago, I am really happy with them, always friendly, caring,and understanding, doctors always answers my questions and concerns. The only thing I can say bad ( if that! ) I think there prices are little higher ( not much! ) BUT you get what you pay for!! I'm happy! .

A clean, cheerful place with caring and competent staff who are generous with their time. Nice, uncrowded facility with NO odors! Friendly resident dogs and cats. Very reasonable pricing. Well worth the 27 mile drive despite there being plenty of other vets in the Upper Valley and NEK.

The staff and doctors may be friendly, but I'm not happy with my latest visit.I had to leave my cat even though I had a scheduled appointment because the doctor wasn't in yet. Then he was there for 7 hours without a phone call. I called at the 6 hour time frame and was told the doctor was still looking at him and she would call. I NEVER received a call. When I picked him up there were charges for things I didn't authorize.... over $133 worth of additional charges!I worked in the veterinary field for over 25 years and not calling a client and getting authorization is unacceptable business behavior.

I wanted everyone to know how kind Dr. Cook and her staff is. They were there for me at the most difficult time for my dog Lucas. Dr. Cook treated Lucas with dignity and respect during his final hour. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a caring vet and vet office. I recently adopted a rescue dog and will be taking her to see Dr. Cook soon!

New to VT, I went to Newbury first only because it is the closest to me. Having been disappointed more often than not, I then tried other vets along Hwy 5 over the next 2 years. After recently seeing the Clinic advertise in the Bridge Weekly, I took two 4 month old kittens in to be neutered - ultimately being charged almost $400 per. While they give a detailed estimate before the procedure, be AWARE that Newbury charges more than other clinics, including $90 in non-essential bloodwork (for which the State won't reimburse them in the VSNIP program). Neutering kittens is a routine, easy, and low risk surgery for a qualified veterinarian. SHOP AROUND for anything that's not an emergency - including dentals - which has become a popular revenue generator for ALL vets.
