We really like this store. It's one of the only places that you can find a good amount of Hello Kitty items. It's a nice discount store.

Normally, my trips to tj Maxx are pleasant and uneventful but this time, at about 11:30 this morning, while I was looking for a new tinted moisturizer, the older female staff member working the dressing rooms next to the makeup left her post to come and crowd right in next to me, blocking me from looking at the eyeshadow and liner and mascara. Wouldve normally just let it go and waited til she was done but she was not even being the slightest bit subtle about the fact that she was hovering over, blcking me from the merchandise, glaring daggers at me, like id kicked a baby or something...then i realize...ohhhh, she thinks I'm a theif...huh. once upon a time, long ago, I was a punk rocker and never felt ill will toward the many people who have followed me around stores in my life. Mostly I was always just satisfied when they looked disappointed that i HADNT tried to steal (one time, they followed me arpunf and a popular girl from my school in her preppy clothes set off the alarm as i was paying for my hair dye). But now im 37, not in the punk scene anymore, just a mostly normal woman in pretty some pretty boring clothes (old me would hate now me lol) and I'm too old to not be sick of that childish judgemental mess. I shop at tj maxx quite frequently for high end makeup, shoes, and dog toys mostly, and i have been shopping here for many years, at least since my late teens.And as i said, im used to being followed - well, i was in high school with my hot topic wardrobe and pink hair and my permanent scowl...but I haven't been followed in a store since I was a kid and those jerks, like this jerk, were barking up the same wrong tree. And you'd think corporate would tell employees during their training that if youre gonna watch someone, WATCH THEM, and that means i shouldnt be able to feel you LITERALLY BREATHING DOWN MY NECK. Ya'll should probably be subtle enough not to put off the shopper off from continuing to patron your establishment at the end of the day.Because, the thing is, I get loss prevention, and I don't mind when people are just doing their job but this woman WOULD NOT LET UP, straightening things that were already straight (seriously, it was neat, tidy and in perfect order, she actually kinda messed up the display with her 'helpfulness') all while staring DIRECTLY AT ME. Fine, you think I'm a thief - you're wrong, but ok - just don't let me know what you're thinking. Even when you're doing absolutely nothing wrong, having someone crowd your space to obviously watch you like a criminal makes you uncomfortable, and it made me leave with only one of the items I intended to purchase.After this experience, i do believe I'll be doing my shopping elsewhere from now on. Don't treat your customers like felons. Innocent until proven guilty, right?You were already testing my loyalty by having your employees try to shove that stupid credit card down my throat every. Single. Time. I. Check. Out. No. I don't want to apply. Because I know I'll just be denied, and it'll hurt my credit score while I'm actively trying to fix it. And they don't take no, thank you as an answer, they have to spend the next couple minutes trying to shoot down your excuses fot not wanting it. 'No' is a complete sentence.i don't want to hear about the card, I'm not gonna apply. I don't care what the features are or that it'll save me 4$ today. No. Just knock it off. And to the employees who are just doing their job, this message wasn't for you. Most of you are lovely (dressing room lady included until today). I know corporate forces you to push that card, but they shouldn't.

Love the store love to look around. Sometimes I think we get all the clothes that nobody else wants. Wish they had more fat clothes. But anyway, I do like to go there, we'll go again.

I go in all the time but they’ve gotten more and more persistent about the dang credit card, I totally get that they have too but if I say no thank you very politely please don’t keep trying 5 times it’s too much. Makes me want to go in less, I don’t want another credit card. If they had a phone number like Bealls does to earn points I would happily sign up for that.

Employees are nice. And friendly. I wasnt from the area, so when I asked for a great place to get food besides McDonald's, our cashier told us about his favorite restaurant that is perfect with kids.The store itself is full of crazy good deals just like at home. I found a few things I needed and then some. I was very satisfied with this experience and how kind everyone was.

I can’t say enough nice things about the staff that was on yesterday Saturday the 23rd at the Middleberry store!My grandson had an accident at the playground I had no extra clothes and I ran in desperation with a child wrapped in a towel and they were like the best and grab me some pajamas and undies for him and let me get him all cleaned up and dressed!I couldn’t of been more grateful this is what Customer service should be like!I hope the store manager and TJ Maxx corporate reads this review because this was amazing!

Interesting store for candy lovers! Alot of unique products! The owner is a master Lego builder!! There are 2 large displays of her builds!! This shop sells candy and Legos and is also a Motel!! Very interesting!!

This was my first trip to the Middlebury store, and I was impressed with how nice the store looks. I work for the Rutland, VT store and they have some different items from us. I loved the jewelry department, and their new cases. It was definitely worth taking the trip up to shop there. The associated were very friendly, and helpful too.

Great clarence deals. Clean bathrooms, friendly staff. However, I bought a sephora makeup palette and when I went to open it after buying it and going home, the whole thing was destroyed. It looked as if someone had carved into it even though the package was sealed. If you buy makeup from there, be sure to check it before you leave the store after you buy it. Very upset that I spent that much on a broken item and cant even return it.

They were supposed to open at 11 a.m. Worker came out at 11:10 saying they were unable to boot up their registers but they had a call in and might be open by 11:30 a.m. Then she says "Is everybody enjoying this fall weather?" Wrong message to send to two dozen people waiting to get in especially when some had come nearly 40 miles to shop there. Most retailers turn on the lights and registers immediately and then do what else has to be done. One Star for this one.

It's always fun to shop here, as the variety and prices are very good. What speaks volumes are returns. I just returned an item and customer service cashiers were both nice and efficient. I appreciate this!! Thank you Middlebury T. J. Maxx!

Have had enough of the rude staff here. They follow customers around lurking to see if people are stealing. Not sure if they have had a problem in the past with shop lifters but my average shopping trip here equals approximately 200-300$ so following me around seems pointless and rude. (I don't look suspect and this isn't something that regularly happens to me in other stores) I have spoken with other people who have had similar experiences here. I would shop elsewhere but this is one of the few stores in town...

I would give a higher rating if I was not constantly nagged about getting a Tj Maxx credit card to save 10%. This is a discount store. I sure do not want to go in debt shopping there.I get staff are pushed by management. I went in when they first opened in the morning and heard the manager talk on their radio telling the staff they needed 9 applications.It seriously is getting annoying because they do not take no for answer.

All TJMaxx stores are pretty much the same. It's treasure hunting. You never know what to will find, since their merchandiser is ever changing. Each store also seems to carry their own merchandise, so what you find at one you may not find at another. Clothing, maybe women's, but men and children also. Shoes for women. Some toys. Lots of housewares. Some electronics and without gear. Also some random items like kayaks.

It's a TJ Maxx. You will never know what you will find! But you will find the store clean and the staff friendly. Due to the pandemic, the dressing rooms still seem to be closed.
