This was a fantastic grocery store. They had basic things but also higher quality choices like organic and gluten-free items. We were staying several nights in town and wanted to cook dinner and found everything that we needed and wanted and more. They had a decent wine selection, too. The staff was friendly and we felt that they were priced very comparable to a regular grocery store.

The floor staff are helpful, No issue finding where and if a item is in stock, a a positive attitude, that seams to make everything runs smooth at appearance, only issue. That I have noticed well shopping is that when a manager is in the area, Seams to be more tension. That is easily noticed by myself and other customers, goes from. A helpful pleasant attitude to them dead pan focusing on there stations, Not interacting when a question is asked in normal voice volumes.

Not sure what to say currently other than we need better than door dash for delivery. Like Shaws does delivery's. I personally have injuries. Walking groceries is currently the only option I've had. Loving all the way upstairs in a 3 story wood frame structure. There of course is no elevator. Ready to fall you know, 3 story, wood. But it is what politics has provided. Thanks Joe! Bang up job on the selling of people! Stupid Confederate flag is there. No body else's ever was. Who would?Thank you Guy's 🖕😉🖕

Chris, one of the managers, was great. He cheerfully helped me and other customers, getting down on the floor to reach things we could not reach. Then he was bagging up front to help the lines keep moving. He is the kind of employee eveyone hopes to find.

Cashier's often miss coupons (ie managers special or clearance) and charge you full price. Their screens are very difficult to catch this as a customer, and you are too busy bagging your own groceries to keep the line moving. After the transaction, if you catch the mistake on your receipt, the service desk is often closed so you have to find someone to correct the sale. Also many checkouts do not know their vegetables.CHECK YOUR ENTIRE RECEIPT BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE STORE. At least once a month I am mischarged either due to a missing sale price, missed managers clearance coupon, mischarged produce, etc. Things are already expensive enough these days.I would also not recommend using the Pick Up service. I tried it once and ended up with moldy avocados, damaged produce, and strange substitutions even though you can specify your substitutes.Otherwise it's a typical grocery store. Not as big as the Hannafords in town, but certainly has almost everything you need. Be prepared to do all your own bagging.

After a mix up with my to go order, Martha more than made it right! She not only replaced the items that were left out for free but she also sent along a bouquet of beautiful flowers when I went back to get my missed items. I will absolutely be using shaws again for my to go order needs as well as shopping in store. I am very appreciative of her extremely professional way of handling this to go matter and going above and beyond. Thank you!

They have a few items that the other food shopping store does not carry and me & my daughter like them plus I enjoy going to check out the discount area even if I only went into store for milk& butter. Most of the people that work there are smiling & in good spirits. The all are really helpful when it comes to the store and were items are or if they carry something else!!

Small town grocery store. In general, expensive but this is Vermont. Great sale prices but stuff sells out quickly. Small but good quality produce selection. They have most of what you need, plus some random exotic fruit as a surprise.

It's not bad for a grocery store. I still prefer Hannaford product wise, but these folks have a decent selection. The prices are similar to Hannaford and if you sign up for their coupon app you can save quite a bit. The store is clean and well laid out.

Can always find what I'm looking for. And I LOVE the discount racks - everything from donuts, cookies, cakes and pies, to diapers, canned goods, meats and cheeses,and other dairy products. Sometimes, you can even find discounts on frozen foods! All the cashiers, customer service, and stockers are friendly and always helpful.

A member of Albertsons, a tiny supermarket conglomerate.Pretty good for an upmarket small college town. Fresh flowers, fresh fish, and a lot of both. A good co-op across the street. Good staff and service

Bought some chicken and when I opened the bag. The chicken was sitting on a puddle of water. Chicken looked unappetizing. Maybe because it’s too hot. I’ve never had this problem before. Waste of money and I’ll have to find something else for dinner.

The people who work at Shaw's in Middlebury make the store worth visiting. They are all very friendly and helpful, the prices are a little high, but the store is small and well organized so it's great when you need items and don't have the time to walk through a huge box store. I just wish management would stop placing those horrible smelling cinnamon pine cones out at both entrances every year. INSTANT MIGRAINE!

Great Selection Very clean but lines were a bit confusing and the lanes are direction arrows. The lanes are too small so during busy time it's going to be tough if you have a disability.

Staff have never been anything but kind, helpful and friendly to me and my wife. One of the managers even gave my wife free flowers because they had a big shipment that day. We have shared chocolates with the check out staff, the cart people and baggers know our names and always want to stop and say hi.If people stopped being self important for half the second it takes to connect with other humans they would discover and absolute gem of a store in their own back yard.

Outstanding customer service. Joyce, Etta and Albert are fantastic. Cindi greets me by name! I moved to Middlebury a week ago and I can't say enough how wonderful most of the employees here, are. Hannaford's not so much. I've been there almost daily, stocking my pantry. Good prices, but incredible staff, from the deli staff, meat counter and customer service desk(thanks Stephanie!). One of the special things about Middlebury is this crew! Do yourself a favour and shop only here!

This is my go-to grocery shopping locale. The location is very convenient for me and most likely manner who live in Addison county, especially the center. The prices are more fair than Hannaford's, the only real competitor to Shaw's. The Co-op across the street has wonderful produce, but their prices are just too high to regularly shop at.My biggest critique of this store is that their beef selection (sirloin, filet, tips, london broil, etc) is pretty much awful. Occasionally there will be a petite sirloin that looks decent, but otherwise it is downright dismal.Bread, milk, cheese, produce prices are all good.

Have tried calling the deli several times tonight and this isn't the first time this has happened. Front desk put me through twice then the phone was off the hook/busy signal. If you did that in rutland county, you'd be fired!

Dealt with an overly rude employee named "Angie" who said she didn't believe my ID was legitimate. She then proceeded to quiz me about my ID and began to have a snarky retort to everything. I'm a 30 year Male and this the first time this has ever been an issue. It also is extremely unprofessional to rule your eyes at a customer. Unprofessional and unpleasant.

I like shopping at shaws. it's organized well and the isles are usually open and clear of excess items taking up space. Most associates are friendly and willing to help out when needed.
