There is not a prettier place to sit and eat in NE. Dining room you can look out over the gap. It’s just stunning Chicken piccata , specials we liked, food was good. Everyone was friendly. We have had four had pretty decent dinners here, and love the view and window porch seating. Do stick with the beer and wine and avoid the mixed drinks.Walkability: Easy to walk from rooms to restaurant and walk up back to the height of land and sit and watch sunrise or sunset. Lots of options to go for a walk on the road as well very beautiful spot.Noteworthy details: You can walk up the hill behind the rooms to a ridge and see 365° and it is beautiful up there. They have placed chairs up on the height of land. I had a wonderful morning sit up there. It was absolutely gorgeous. It was quiet and plenty of parking. This location is specifically catering to the mountain biking crowd. There are so many trails everywhere. The rooms are awful pricey for what you get, but the views are so beautiful and location are worth it.

We had a terrible experience at the Inn during the solar eclipse of 2024. We paid a steep $650/night for an apartment with 3 bedrooms that was simply falling apart and incredibly dirty; traveling with two young children, this made our stay a nightmare. 2 out of the 3 nights spent there, the furnaces were not working so no heating (after a blizzard!) and no hot water. The furnaces were eventually restarted but only late at night, and the furnace room had to be left wide open in the middle of the main hallway which was a huge hazard with young kids. One of the beds was covered in insect carcasses. All sink faucet handles were broken, and the sinks would not drain water so we had to wash our hands in 10 seconds or the water would overflow. A power switch was broken, leaving cables uncovered. There was a huge layer of dust everywhere, the kitchen cabinets were streaked of black, the shower floor was stained black. Internet worked maybe 10% of the time. Breakfast was very simple (which is fine). What left us most disappointed is that we complained about the lack of heating and we were told by the managers “sorry, but we addressed the issues” implying that we had no right to complain. We were still not able to shower 2 out of 3 days and had to leave with a furnace room open in the middle of our living space, so we thought that this was a very inconsiderate answer to give. We will certainly not be back and we do not recommend this place to anyone.

Had dinner here and what a treat. 16oz local ribeye with garlic butter was delicious! And the price to value was fantastic. $32 was fair. Parm ruffle fries were very tasty. Jews from the pub are gorgeous. Tasty cocktails, and they serve hill farmstead beer!!

What else can be said about The wildflower…we have stayed here 3-4 times and each time we stayed in a different room or part of the farm. It’s simply amazing. And what makes it even more special, is the staff. The staff and the management always go above and beyond to make one’s stay so special. The food and the pub are the real gems here…I’m not sure who the chef is on-site, but big props to them as we literally have tied every app and dinner on the menu. Finally, huge thank you to Caleb (bar manager extraordinaire) for really making our stay there with his cocktail wizardry even more special. Thank you Wildflower for all you do.

We decided to stay at the Wildflower Inn for the New Years holiday. We brought our dog with us and stayed in the Carriage house in a dog friendly room. The bed was comfortable and the room was warm and dry on a very rainy weekend. Nothing special but fine for our needs- A place to hang out and sleep. Bathroom is utilitarian for what is otherwise a very cozy Inn experience and the shower head leaves plenty to be desired. The continental breakfast was great and so was the coffee. We had dinner reservations for NYE at the Inn and had been dreaming about cheeseburgers all day, only to find that the menu on NYE had been changed to exclude burgers. Bummer. We had a cheese plate delivered to our room upon arrival as requested, which was good but $25 was steep for a small variety of cheese, grapes, cucumbers, and some breakfast breads unpackaged and sliced on the plate.Let's talk about the parking lot. It was a soppy mess for the entirety of our visit, which was a huge pain since it soaked my shoes every time we exited our room and were constantly toweling off the dog. the mud vestibule in the room was very helpful in not tracking mud into the actual living accommodations- besides, a little mud never killed anyone, so no big deal. The location is great, the personnel were great, I wish we had been able to take advantage of the trail system around (the whole reason for our trip in the first place) but they were closed and the weather was unseasonably warm, not the fault of anyone- thankfully the great state of Vermont has boundless hiking opportunities which we took advantage of in the absence of ski/ bike opportunities. All in all, a nice, if rustic, place to stay in a wonderful part of the state.

We spent a lovely 8 days in this lovely spot earlier this month. We were in the area to participate in a meditation retreat happening nearby. I don't think we could have picked a better place to stay.Due to our schedule we did not participate in any daytime activities, such as mountain biking (though we saw plenty of bike riders whizzing around). Our experience was limited to sleeping, the continental breakfast in the morning, dinner at the Juniper in the evening, and just enjoying the grounds. We stayed in one of the Carriage House rooms. It was a large room with classic Vermont country furnishings. Wifi was good. The bed was comfortable. The fridge was bigger than the average hotel fridge. Thankfully there was no TV. It was quiet except for birds in the morning, and once or twice a biking class of kids doing calisthenics on the hill behind. Our first dinner at the Juniper was on the first night of a new kitchen staff, including chef. It was uneven. On succeeding days the food and service (go Lucas!) got more dialed in. We had highly convivial dinners with other retreat attendees every night except two while we were there. The setting, hospitality and good drinks had something to do with this. (Must suggest that good drinks be considered for all future retreats). There is a range of indoor & outdoor seating, all with fantastic views. Continental breakfast was also a little bumpy at first with items missing, but got better throughout the stay. The plan is to have all locally sourced / baked breakfast items. The grounds and views are gorgeous. There is an avenue of old maples lining the road. The pool was inviting (see photo) though we had no suits. One thing I will say. While there are teething pains associated with new ownership, the staff was always friendly and eager to help. With that foundation, everything is fixable. I know based on an event we observed that was unrelated to our stay that Foster Goodrich, one of the owners, goes to extraordinary lengths to be kind. This place deserves to be a big success.

I almost don’t want to comment on how wonderful this place is, in fear of it becoming too popular. At the time of this review, the inn was under the same post-pandemic staffing shortages we’re seeing across the country. So what was once a gourmet farm breakfast, had been reduced to a tidy, locally sourced continental.Still, the wildflower stands unwavering at the top in amenity, location, hospitality and charm. My family enjoyed the pool, views and trail access.Melissa and crew went out of their way to supply a sweet n savory selection of crackers, jams, cheeses, and sweets upon our arrival, which made a huge difference after a long drive from the city. Our rooms in the carriage house were spacious, clean, and had a “historic” decor that my kids loved. We will absolutely be back. Probably next month.

In this spectacular setting, the outdoors is way at the top of the list of important things to experience. After our day of activities (for us, not biking but rather the nearby annual county fair), we emerged from a short rest in our comfy room to get a drink on a beautiful clear late afternoon / early evening, with a gorgeous row of sunflowers backlit by the sun, and a vast view of fields and mountains beyond. Stunning. Earlier, we had checked in via an entryway surrounded by beautifully maintained annual and perennial flowering plants and now, as I sipped my delicious VT IPA and gazed about me, I appreciated gorgeous beds of flowering plantings everywhere, beautifully maintained, upping the already high visual ante. Wow. We stayed overnight in the carriage house, very comfortable. Everybody we met was friendly and the setting seemed to enhance all the guests' moods, or anyway my perception of their moods. An owner on site gave my husband a brief tour of the grounds, and talked about general plans for the future. Not only do I hope to be able to return and soon, but I also hope to learn to mountain bike with this amazing resort complex as outfitter and base camp. I have already sung its praises to my more athletic friends of various ages. Thanks for being there, and good luck with this wonderful enterprise.

Restaurant Only.We made a reservation for 4 for dinner here for my grandmother's 89th birthday and the service was ridiculous! We were there 45 minutes before our drinks came and we waited just over 2 HOURS for our food to come! We were not offered or given anything in that time; no bread or chips or anything. just left alone for 2 HOURS with an overpriced drink that was mediocre at best. Then, after waiting 2 HOURS for our food, we are left sitting there without any silverware to eat our food with for about 8 minutes! Finally after a bit over 2 HOURS we got to eat. My mother's food was both cold and overcooked, me and my grandmother's veggies were undercooked, and the portions left us leaving hungry. The food overall was decent, we aren't hard to please when it comes to food, but it sure wasn't worth waiting 2 HOURS, $175, and still leaving hungry!

Such a gorgeous spot and top notch server. Unfortunately he had just found out he was losing his job. The entire kitchen staff gave short notice while the owners were on their honeymoon so the restaurant was going to close. He was fantastic, though and the food was excellent. Hope it reopens and the owners can find a more professional kitchen staff. We'll be back next summer.

Great experience, staff was very friendly, rooms in the Carriage house were OK, could use some updating but it was still cozy. MTB and XC Ski trails right out the back with a bike shop on site. Great INN!!Nearby activities: Mountain biking, xc skiing and downhill skiing are the 3 major things to do here.Food & drinks: Restaurant on site was fabulous!Noteworthy details: The mountain biking trails behind the inn are world-class!

The Wildflower Inn has been under new management since spring. Disregard old reviews about discriminatory practices. It was clear to us that "all are welcome" here. In addition to the beautiful location, which backs up to Kingdom Trails (MTB), the property is well maintained. A few odds and ends have been improved and I'm told they will be undergoing renovations soon. The rooms are adorable the way they are. The balance between antique furniture and a little bit of Ikea is really rustic and cute. It's clear that the buildings are old but the new owners is really made the best out of the old charm. The owners are friendly, welcoming, and gracious. They let us know upon arrival that we had full run of the 300 acres. The pool is beautifully maintained and boasts spectacular mountain views, which can be enjoyed from all over the property. There's plenty for kids to do like cornhole and wiffle ball. The food and service at the restaurant were excellent. As of now, the menu is the same for both sides of the restaurant, but you can choose to sit on the more informal "Spoke Easy" (the pun took me a minute) bar side if you're coming off the trails. Menu is simple, but enough. Continental breakfast and snack time are included 🙃.Lake Willoughby is a short drive and you can rent kayaks or paddle boards across the street. If you're coming here to bike, it's a perfect location for a comfortable weekend. If not, you can still have a beer at the beer garden next door and grab a bite at the food truck while enjoying the "inn" experience. At these prices, compared to the way other hotel prices have inflated, this place is a must before other people figure it out. Thank you for an awesome stay!

This place is Vermont turned up to 11. The gardens are perfectly taken care of, the service is wonderful, the views are a postcard, and three attention to detail is outstanding. The address so many little touches that add up to a terrific overall experience. Things like fresh cookies and hot cider in the afternoon (GF available by request!), or a basket of warm blankets to grab when sitting outside, or catering to the terrific mountain biking scene in the area ( Kingdom Trails). It's actually more like a mini resort than an inn. The rooms are clean and comfy and have everything you would want. Be aware- no TV in the rooms, on purpose, but WiFi is strong. Good place to bring kids as well with a nice pool, playground, games, and tons of grounds to run around on. Love, love, love it here.

Everything here was ideal in my opinion. Perfect location (and I do mean PERFECT) for anyone coming to this area to ride MTB… two big trail networks lead directly from the Inn. Several spots on the property to enjoy a drink or a meal outdoors. The bike repair shop on premises even has a coffee shop and beer garden! Comfort food at dinner in the pub was very competent, breakfast the next day was equally good, everyone I met on the staff were super friendly. The room was clean and well equipped, although the furnishings are not fancy, which is fine by me as I wasn’t expecting nor interested in a posh resort. The inn’s location is simply priceless, at the top of a gorgeous valley with postcard quality views, especially at sunset. If you’re coming here to ride MTB you’ll probably giggle a little bit as you pull in, as I did, given how ideal the whole thing is. I’m writing this while still here, already thinking of when I can come back to ride again, and to stay at this quality country inn. Great job, Wildflower!

Awful experience with front desk staff. My father fell and fractured his shoulder, when on the ground, front desk girl came out and told us to keep our voices down with no request for assistance. Room was gross and run down and furniture looked like it was picked from side of road.Rooms: Very run down. Furniture came from the bar lounge. Metal chairs with restaurants table, arm chair ripped and stained. Really gross and wouldn’t sit in. A real walk around. Bathroom faucets hard stained and tub the same. The entry on outside into room run down. Looked like section eight housing. Very sad. I complained to same person who asked me to keep our voices down as my father was on floor falling down, later to find he fractured his shoulder. Just awfulSafety: Sunken living area dangerous for older folks with poor eye sight

What a great place and fantastic owners. The countryside is just gorgeous and everyone was warm and friendly, cordial. Great access to bike trails, snowmobile trails and hiking and Burke Mountain skiing. The food is local and wonderful. If in this area of Vermont I couldn't think of staying anywhere else. We will be back.

Very nice place to stay if you want to stay close to Kingdom Trails but don't want to camp. Rooms were nice, not fancy but comfortable. Having a restaurant right there is a nice option if you don't want to leave the area, although the service at the restaurant is quite slow so plan accordingly.Definitely great to wake up in the morning and go right out onto the trails.

What a hidden gem! My husband and I spent Memorial weekend at the Wildflower Inn with our three children, ages 13, 11, and 11. We all had a fantastic time! The inn keepers, Jim and Mary, welcomed us warmly when we arrived on a wet and cold Saturday afternoon. I knew this place would be very special to us when the children got out of the car and started running and laughing in the rain in the wide open meadow. The hot cider, cookies, and cheese and crackers served by the wood stove in the afternoon were a treat. Our one-room suite was clean and offered a breathtaking view of the meadow. It fit our family of five comfortably. Dinner at the Juniper was delicious but nothing compared to the generous and hearty breakfast that was served each morning. Home-made granola, warm croissants, mixed berries pancakes, scones...wow! The many beautiful hiking trails surrounding the inn were convenient when the time came to take a walk in the woods. There are no words that can truly describe how beautiful the grounds of this inn are. It is postcard-perfect! We had such a wonderful time that we have decided to make it a family tradition and we will be back next year! I highly recommend the Wildflower Inn to anyone looking to spend quality time with loved ones. This is your place.

I had a fantastic time at the inn! The rooms are amazing and the view is one that you can't find many places. Waking up and opening the blinds was one of my favorite parts of the day. And don't get me started on breakfast!!! The granola was to die for and every item on the menu was so tasty. I had the pancakes one day and loved them! I will definitely be back!

Beautiful area, friendly staff. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is because the room was a bit shabby. For the price point, I would have expected it to have nicer furnishings, but the furniture was very worn and scratched. The shower and bathroom fixtures were in bad shape with the shower head so low I had a hard time rinsing my hair. Otherwise, no complaints.

Wow! Cute, cozy, rustic rooms, beautiful views! Included breakfast was delicious; best scones of my life! Staff and owner are super friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend it and would stay here again. Been coming here for years!
