7.18.22 heading back from Island Pond was excited to get real coffee. This was a great stop since we not only got Starbucks coffee, but something sweet to eat while enjoying your cafe.

Good pit stop! They serve Starbucks drinks, have good vegan options. Wife ordered the TLT and I ordered the cauliflower wings coated in mango siracha glaze - not spicy, just fun things to try! Also recommend the tropical twist!

Worst meal in Vermont yet. Over priced, tiny portions with horrible service, I'll pass.Tempeh BLT that was cut so thick and so flavorless it was like weird meatloaf. Also didn't even cover the bread. Husband's wrap was basically a slab of hot cream cheese with a couple of veggies. Daughter had BBQ chicken thing that was dry and tough. Pictured is a $4 side of chips, smaller than my smallish hand. So salty we had to brush them off. Also 3 Starbucks drinks and 2 were totally wrong. Have you ever had to specify you wanted your coffee hot?I went back to ask about the chips since a $10 dollar sandwich should have more than some red water cabbage with it and the staff was so confused I just sat down.First trip, last trip.

We had some great Starbucks coffees and avocado toasts. The maple pull apart were to die for. We should have gotten 2 orders per person. The girls helping us were very friendly and did a great job.We also were able to pick up some touristy souvenirs and some maple taffy.Ad they are also a general store they do have a selection of groceries and staple goods as well as a full fledged gift shop upstairs. And don’t forget about Carmine’s ice cream shop located at the same location. The Freighthouse market and cafe is well worth a visit when in Lyndonville.Vegetarian options: The avocado toast and maple pull aparts are vegetarian at least if not vegan they had hash browns and other pastries as wellParking: At least 25 parking spaces available also on street parking is ample throughout town

Cute little shop with lots of health food options and locally made goodies. Not the type of cafe we were looking for, but looked like lots of tasty options were available.

I work nights and was in the routine of getting coffee there close to closing. My card slipped out of my hand and into the cooler. It was unable to be retrieved immediately, no problem, staff behind the counter were great. The manager (or whoever) was rude, told me with a line of people needing help she couldn’t do anything (there were 3 people patiently waiting). I definitely could wait, not a problem but the tone was very unfriendly. Probably won’t return. I’m going to miss the coffee but think I’ll find a new place anyway.

First time customer.I was excited to buy local goods and items at this market. I want to support local businesses. The cafe however, got my order two days in a row completely wrong. Not impressed. First day they gave me the wrong drink (what I ordered was double the price of what they gave me so I drove back to get the correct one), and the very next day they forgot to give me the food I ordered with my coffee. The food and drinks were nice enough, and the staff friendly, but two days in a row of messed up orders doesn't make me feel like a valued customer. Please make sure the staff double check the orders are correct.

I visited in October with my son and his family. We had a delightful time and a great lunch. I was so pleased to see it was an organic restaurant. The little store was well-stocked and had so much to offer. We were treated to a trip upstairs where my granddaughter got to see the electric train in the miniature town of Lyndonville. We met the owner and her daughter and they were delightful. I hope to visit again when I am in the Vermont area as I am located in Indiana. Oh, to top it all off, we enjoyed the wonderful ice cream. This place is just the best.

We stopped by today and had the Beet Salad and Chicken Caesar Salad. Both were outstanding. The maple vinegrette dressing was unique and tasty. My only suggestion would to offer larger sized salads as an option. We will definitely stop back again for lunch the next time we are in area. Thanks!

I only stop here once a year while traveling from the U.S. to Canada. After a 3 year COVID-induced hiatus we recently returned. The staff was just as friendly as always and the market had its usual selection of Vermont goods. Sadly, they were no longer grilling on demand and their amazing sandwich selection was not available. You can still get some Starbucks style sandwiches from the cooler but I hope some version of the traditional menu returns next year.

This is really the only place I will get coffee in town. I know that everyone knows what Starbucks’ coffee is like, but somehow this is better. Maybe it’s the people (the manager actually cares) or it’s the full auto espresso machine. I don’t know. It just is. The baked goods are of top quality. The place is super roomy; no bumping elbows. They bus the tables. Bathrooms are alway way clean. And half the place is a health food store. They also sell ice cream in summer, if that is your thing. It’s comfortable, quite, and in a historic railroad station. In this tiny town, it’s a gem.

Wandering the back roads of Vermont can leave you hungry with very few options. Popping out into Lyndonville one afternoon, I made a quick stop at the Freighthouse Cafe. Immediately, I knew I'd picked a good place. The cafe and deli met me with a fresh-made vibe that had my mouth watering over the chalkboard menu options. The food took a while...a lot longer than expected, actually, but the sandwiches were worth the wait. We had the turkey cranberry sandwich and a honey mustard chicken wrap. They were both filling, tasty, and seemed to be good quality. The fresh hand-cut fries that I was looking forward to, were disappointing, though. Like our journey that landed us at the Freighthouse, the fries were all over the map -- s little burnt, a little limp, a little soggy, and far too little crispy. Nonetheless, after buying a house near Lyndonville, I'm sure I'll have the opportunity to give the fries another try!

Nice selection of Vermont gifts and souvenirs upstairs - this is the place I take visiting friends to in a pinch, when they're on the last day of their stay and realize they forgot to get goodies.

Stopped on the way back from a Jay Peak weekend. Small place with order at the counter service and seat yourself. Quite quaint.Menu is clearly labeled with organic ingredients and local products (and which aren't).Friends ordered a couple breakfast sandwiches, one ordered another to go because he loved it. I had the soup special of seafood chowder (pleasantly thin base with large chunks of haddock, lobster and scallops) and the pesto chicken panini (bread was very fresh and tasted amazing!).The wait staff brought us all water, without asking. It was a quiet morning but was asked by multiple individuals if everything was to our liking and if we needed anything else.Based on our experience, we will stop through again. Skip the McDonald's off the exit, good food is only a mile away.

Got a couple of sandwiches. Didn't come with fries, pickle, chips or a drink. I think a $11 sandwich should come with at least something on the side.Used a debit card to pay and the receipt had the usual tip calculator. I tipped although I'm not sure what for, we ate outside with no waitress. Probably my own fault. While waiting for sandwiches I noticed a bottle of ketchup was over $5 in there.Got a donut to go. It was stale.Sandwiches were good.

This place is a hidden gem in the Lyndonville area, with a huge plethora of drinks and breakfast items. Believe it or not this place actually sells Starbucks drinks, and has the entire drink menu. A little pricey, but other than that this place is great.

Rating based on service not the product - Not as good as before sadly, (the ice cream part) the few times Ive been there for ice cream, I've had to go looking all over for someone to help for ice cream and when you have a few young kids running around it's a pain. Hopefully they'll get it together more a but more because it is a nice place to go.

I had a great caprese sandwich but my friend got the peanut wrap, which was very wet and soggy. We each got a no-bake mint brownie to go. I wish I was exaggerating, but that was probably one of the worst things I’ve ever eaten (which was so terrible I actually just spit it out).
