Stopped in after skiing at Okemo. End of season sale and got an awesome deal on a pair of skis. The owner Steve was friendly and helpful. Heads up there’s a 3.75% surcharge for using a credit card. I think it’s reasonable, because I know the credit cards charge the fees, (just like the cash vs credit price at the gas station.) Fortunately, though I had enough cash on me and got my skis for a ridiculously good price. Will definitely shop here again.

AVOID AT ALL COST. I’m in shock as I write this minutes after what I assume to be a owner/employee of sports odyssey walk me and my father to the door screaming at us to and I quote “GO SUCK A FAT ONE”. I simply went in to see if they had a Burton snowboard and would be willing to price adjust based off the prices online. After he realized his Burton snowboard was $400 more than the exact board online. He said we couldn’t make a deal which is perfectly fine. EXCEPT when we are walking up the stairs he starts swearing and becoming aggressive that’s we “came in the store with attitude “ as we walk out shocked that this employee is yelling at us he exclaims to the world for us to go suck one. They will never see me or my friends faces in there every again and I urge you to take your money elsewhere to people who respect their customers and offer good prices.

I walked in with a specific boot in mind, but when I tried it on, I didn’t have the reaction I expected. Joe suggested a different boot, known for comfort, that was also less expensive. They didn’t have the boot available in my size and Joe went out of his way to order it for me, not knowing if it would fit. I went back for a fitting with his brother, and he suggested I ski on them a handful of times and come back if they weren’t quite right. I came back for an adjustment and they were so accommodating. They easily could have sold me the more expensive boot, but they worked with me to find the right pair for me. Highly recommend!!!

Stopped in last week and purchased 2 helmets. Gentlemen working was knowledgeable and directed us to the models that had the best fit for head sizes. He spent a considerable amount of time with us and made sure we were happy with our purchases. Cool friendly dog on site.

Our family and friends have enjoyed wonderful experiences at Sports Odyssey for many yearsJoe, Steve and Winston the pup are wondeful !Dozens of experiences have been great.Read the few negative posts that people shared about this awesome business; I will share that I myself continue to be in customer service for the past 51 years, and peoples' expectations can be very demanding. Sometimes unfairly so.I take very seriously the responsibility of referring a business to family, close friends or even people that I have just met.I recommend Sports Odyssey wihout any reservation, and have never regretted it !

Came in for a boot fitting, but nothing in stock fit or would work for what I needed. Steve was very helpful in identifying the ideal boot, and suggested I purchase elsewhere, and come back to get them heat molded and my bindings fitted. When I came back with my boots I purchased online, the employees were very nasty, telling me that they do not support online retailers and they refused to offer me any services. Seems like their intention is to mislead and then disrespect their customers. I will never be coming back, and I recommend finding literally any other shop for your winter gear needs.

Horrid experience! My son had to use the bathroom but apparently there was "no bathroom". I had to take him out to the car and use an old grocery bag...he missed the bag...So then my car had a horrible stench. I had to sell it and get a new one it was so bad! And if you think about it that never would have happened if they let us use there bathroom! Never oh never again! Take your money somewhere else!

Younger gentleman was very helpful in renting skis but very expensive compared to other local shops in the area. Quite disappointed after spending the premium in renting skis and they didn’t disclose a charge for heating my boots until leaving when they ran out into the parking lot telling me there was an additional labor charge without disclosing upfront!!! Seemed extremely unprofessional and won’t be back!

Skies, snowboards and snowshoes sales and rental as well as a skiing gear store. Good prices and absolutely great customer care, helpful and knowledgeable on everything and all related to the skies and snowboards. Despite us dropping in during the busiest week of the year (between Christmas and New Year), they didn't ignore our questions and were able to set us up with the equipment we were looking for in a timely manner. Good selection of attire as well. Highly recommend.

The owner of this shop is apparently a real hot head with nothing better to do then yell and curse at people on a Saturday. I stopped in their parking lot to let my dog stretch his legs and this maniac comes yelling and screaming at me that this is private property, cursing at me and my wife and filming us. Unbelievable how worked up someone could get over letting a dog walk around. Take it easy guy, you are gonna have a heart attack. Shop elsewhere.

Amazing experience, Deven/Erin at the front desk was super welcoming. And the two old guys down stairs were fun fair knowledgeable and set me with with the perfect set of skis. I was an out of towner and they treated me like family. Highly recommend!

This place has bad reviews for a reason. These people are as rude as they come and will not get my business. After stopping by another ski shop that was sold out of rentals I called Sports Odyssey and asked if they had availability for a 2 day ski rental and he immediately laughed at me and said “that’s like calling McDonald’s and asking if they have cheeseburgers” and I said back well actually another place in town is sold out so it’s not that crazy of a question. He then angrily said “well shame on you then for not coming here first because we’re the largest ski shop in the country” LOL at him for thinking that. Take your business to Northern Ski, Boot Pro, or Totem Pole where the people are much nicer and actually treat visitors who give them business with respect.

Sports Odyssey in Ludlow, VT is a great ski shop with a wide selection of skis, boots and apparel. I highly recommend going there for rental skis including demos. I just purchased a new pair of skis and the customer service provided by Joe and his team was excellent!

All around weird ski shop that could not be bothered to make a sale. We came shopping for a new set of skis. Were told to leave and come another day. Really?!?Place was deserved at 4:30pm on a Sunday, with few employees avoiding eye contact, other than to remind about mask wearing. Which is fine, alas, adult employees wear masks around the chin. What's the point?Onto ski equipment shopping experience. One may attempt to shop for ski's if you find the way into the basement. The rental counter was open, with 3 employees and 1 customer. But equipment for-sale section was roped off and inaccessible. We asked about buying new ski's, and were told to come "some other day" because the shop is "low on staff". Can one of the 3 guys take a moment to help? The shrugged and walked away.We left, with no intension of ever returning.Went to Totem Pole (great shop down the road) and bought ski's from them that very same evening.

been doing business with them for 20 years, NEVER had a problem, always been there for us. Quality gear, lots of experience.12/28/20 it is now 30 years of doing business with Joe and Steve and their crew. My family of 26 still enjoys their experiences with all of them and that says it all. We have now been in town for 34 years and my kids, and the grandkids all head over there for all their needs. Remember, take your time renting and remember each and every one of us have to do their part to make sure equipment your rent, FITS. Be smart, be safe and enjoy VERMONT.

I rented skis and boots from them for 1 day out, and the service was fantastic. All of the people I met were very friendly and helpful (granted, not the owner as some of the other reviews have mentioned).I also visited during their sale, and agreed that their merchandise is a bit expensive, but the nice lady working the counter helped me pick out some good quality socks and was incredibly patient.I was surprised by some of these reviews because my experience was nothing but pleasant.

Been renting from them for multiple years now and they are fantastic. Every employee is very knowledgeable and especially great with kids. They helped set up my kids with the right equipment at a great price, $20 a day. The rental boots are very comfortable and overall have far better and nicer equipment than any other place in town, and at a better price.

Their was a women who greeted us and was very approachable and knowledgable. She had been working there for years, retired and came back. Very energetic and helped me with all of my skiing questions. I went downstairs and the gentleman who was working the rental & selling of the skis was also very approachable & knowledgeable. He even helped me with a problem I was having with my boots. I highly recommend Sports Odyssey.

If you need skis and skiing equipment, this is the place to go! The boys here are so so so so wonderful. If you are a first-time skier like I am, Joe and Billy are the people to talk to, they are extremely helpful. Joe thoroughly answered all my questions and showed me to correct way to put on all the gear, as well as removal. I am pleased with the price of everything, It wasn't expensive at all!! I will 100% be coming back!! :)

I went up to Okemo for President's day weekend not expecting to purchase a new set up, but Andrew at this place was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Not only did he teach me about new advances in technology, but he also made sure that I was comfortable and got the best equipment at a great price. All of the other staff also made sure that we were being taken care of. I hardly ever write reviews, but this was an exceptional experience. Thank you Andrew.

I was looking for a new pair of ski boots and we wanted go here specifically because I had bought my skis there about 4 years ago and they were half price. Today I got new k2 boots discounted 25% and 2 jackets and a pair of ski pants at 40% off. Bill did an excellent job in fitting my boots and I am very happy we went back there for the jackets and pants for my wife and daughter. They are my go to place and highly recommend them if your in the area. thanks!!

I have been renting from Sports Odyssey on New Year's Eve Weekend for the past 5 years. They are the best! The rental team is eager to get you into the right equipment - rather than move you through the process quickly. They take their time, listen to you, give you options and then give you a great deal! Joe and his team are simply awesome! If you want personal service that is courteous and affordable, this is the ONLY place to rent! Oh, and the fact that they are all funny and always smiling is just an added bonus!!
