We happened to find this place while looking for dinner and a beer last year. We had just skied Stowe all day, and were traveling to Killington. We loved it so much we decided to stay there for 3 nights and just ski Killington this year. The place has a great vibe and history. No frills, rustic, and feels like you’re at a family camp with a legit Irish pub attached to it. Family run for generations by outdoor enthusiasts. Authentic Irish food, music and conversation. Reminded us of family back home in Western PA. Great breakfast every day before hitting the slopes. Get a fireplace room if you can. We’ll be back. Thanks Murray ☘️

We absolutely love visiting this gem of a place! The pub, the hikes, and the food. We always look forward to coming back and now often bring our dog because they have pet friendly rooms!Food & drinks: Guinness beer & Shepherds pie!

Room was clean, but it was very basic. There is no TV, Fridge, Or Microwave. WIFI is available but very weak, and the Verizon signal is spotty at best. Most notably there is no AC, which was surprising. We had to keep the windows open all night to maintain any kind of comfortable temperature. The resulting road noise from route 4 made for a bad nights sleep. The staff was friendly. It is close by to hiking trails, but it's not actually on the Long Trail or The Appalachian Trail any more. All in all, A little disappointing for the price.Food & drinks: The food on the premises was okay, nothing special. We were there on Friday night when they had live music. We weren't able to be seated because there were a lot of locals there. That is not any problem, however, they were not ordering anything. Most people just sitting to watch the music. Our check seemed a bit pricey for the little amount we ordered. $10 per tequila shot, $9 per draft Guinness. I probably won't be back.

Stopped by for a sandwich with hard working immigrant friend from Brazil and the young bartender was so rude it shocked both of us. My friend wouldn't stop talking about how in his country that's not acceptable. I am from Georgia and I agree - that kind of behavior is unprofessional and unacceptable. I have also worked in the front of the house at restaurants when I have been deeply depressed and suicidal and I always smile and treat customers with kindness and respect and keep my personal problems to myself. I suggest that this guy gets a therapist or a psychiatrist - or join a support group. That's what I have done for 40 years since I had my first episode of depression. When you are working your responsibility is to be helpful to customers. If you are a traveler on a budget avoid this place unless you enjoy the Boston style surly treatment by bartenders this is the place for you. If you like warm and friendly and smiles and kindness and respect go elsewhere!

I love this place. I hiked the Long Trail over 20 years ago and stopped here as a through-hiker for breakfast and to take a shower & rest, so it was so nice to visit this place again! We stayed for the whole weekend and I was so happy to discover when making the reservations, that they have dog friendly accommodations in their suites! We had a one bedroom suite and it was lovely. In the main Inn building they have a game / reading room, another large sitting room where you can drink coffee and read or visit with friends, a restaurant (with a killer breakfast!!) and a pub that has live music on the weekends. We stayed in the building attached to the main building, where they have suites that are dog friendly. Keep in mind this is a rustic inn, so don't think suite at the Marriott, it's more like drive-up motel meets log cabin. Every single person we encountered that worked at the Inn, restaurant, or pub were ALL super nice and welcoming. And I know from past experience that they are super nice to through-hikers. This is a family run business that's been around for decades. Whether you're hiking, skiing, or just visiting Vermont, if you're into the rustic in type feel I highly recommend this place.

Best Guiness stew outside of Ireland, hands down. Good prices on food, the pub is a great little nod to the pubs of Ireland. The inn is a great place for hikers and skiers. There are alot of thru hikers that frequent the place during the hiking bubble. Rooms are standard, no AC, but good price for folks looking to hike or ski.Rooms: Standard rooms, almost dorm style no AC. Comfy enough after a long days hike.Food & drinks: Best Guineas Stew outside Ireland

I had reserved an inside twin room for the night of 12/4. Unfortunately, the first room that given to us was uninhabitable. The radiator was malfunctioning. Not only was it a steam bath, the windows were steamed up, the temperature was unbearable and the carpet was soaked from water dripping from the radiator. When we were relocated to a new room it was a room with a daybed and a full or queen bed. Regardless of the fact we had wanted two twins beds, we were willing to make this work. Then my sister had to use bathroom and found a toilet seat that was barely connected to the toilet and looked so dirty my cat would not touch it. We asked again at the front desk, the gentleman checked said the seat was clean it was just paint chipping off. I requested he fix the loose seat or move us to acceptable room. He didn’t want to relocate us “because the maids would have another room to clean.” He did tighten the seat, I slept on the daybed and my sister on the bed. Again at 55 & 61 years old nether of us enjoy sleeping on a small uncomfortable daybed when this was not what we were expecting.Needless to say we were more than disappointed in our stay.

The best of a rustic lodge next to The Long Trail. Expect to meet very interesting people. Hikers stop here to clean up and enjoy an authentic Irish Pub and Irish Fare on the menu. You may have a pint of Guinness or Killian. Numerous Irish whiskeys from which to choose. Two dart boards, no waiting. Bob's a good man. He'll make sure you get the best meal and libations.

Stayed here in June 2022 when I was hiking in the area. Room was so comfortable and clean, rate was so reasonable and included the most awesome breakfast in the morning. The restaurant and attached pub were perfect and the Shepards pie was amazing. I really enjoyed this place and talking to all the LT and AT thru hikers and someday when I hike the LT I will definitely be back. Hands down will stay here again and looking forward to it.

I stopped up the road at a different motel on a whim while traveling through the area and stumbling upon some slick weather. They informed me that they weren’t pet friendly and suggested the Inn at Long Trail. I stopped by and was able to get a pet friendly room straight away with no notice on this snowy afternoon in late March. I enjoyed the faux fireplace and showers in my room that provided towels, shampoo and body wash, although I brought my own. The wifi was strong although I wasn’t in dire need of it for remote work or anything so can’t speak to that. I slept well. In the morning I went over for breakfast and was served by a lovely lady who seemed to be doing it all: hosting, serving, bringing extra towels and other supplies to the room. I didn’t stay on a weekend so unsure about the sound of the live music from the rooms but overall I had a good experience here and would revisit. It felt cozy, cabin-like.

What a great place! My friend and I arrived after days of hiking, the staff here is incredibly nice and helpful. The rooms are quaint, the inn is beautiful and located right of the AT & Long Trails. The inn is built around the landscape, with boulders in the dining room and pub. The food is delicious and Murry is an awesome bartender. I'll be back if I'm ever in the area again! Keep up the great work guys!

Female owner is very rude and abrasive. I have celiacs disease and am traveling with my service dog on the Appalachian trail. Owner was aware that she could ask what tasks my dog performs, but then tried to tell me how my dog should behave. My dog was called by a friend, by name, and moved from a down stay to a seated position and she felt it necessary to educate me on how my dog should respond to seeing people he knows. My dog has been working for me for over three years and is very good at his job.Very unwelcoming. She was also very degrading to her husband who was helping us, interrupting him when he was speaking, repeating to us that he had a stroke multiple times even though he had told us and was speaking more then understandable. Very disappointed with her service. Decided to take our business elsewhere.

We stay there every February, and visit a few other times during the year to enjoy the pub. It is a quintessential New England Inn. Rooms are clean and well maintained and they have a wonderful lobby area with a roaring fire, books, games, jigsaw puzzles, a piano, and plenty of nooks to sit.Patti and Murray McGrath and staff work hard to make sure your stay is enjoyable. Stays at the Inn usually include breakfast and dinner in their restaurant. The food is fantastic.A typical stay involves a hearty breakfast and then a day of skiing at either Pico or Killington. Back to the Inn to get showered and changed followed by a wonderful dinner. (I highly recommend the duck or the lamb chops)After dinner we head into their pub where on weekends, they have live entertainment - almost always Irish musicians playing all the sing along songs. If the pub is not your thing, head to their lobby/common area, grab a rocker and enjoy the fire.

This is a Quaint and rustic place. Right next to the trailhead it's easy to stay here and go hiking. After hiking go down to the pub and get some some authentic Irish stew and brews. The food was great and loved the Smithwicks as well. Great staff and they love to make you stay even better.

Had a wonderful lunch here. It was surprisingly not busy, even though it was a weekend. Tried a half Long Trail Ale and half Guinness which was very good. Beef stew and burger was good too. Bartender was chill and had some good stories. Way better than eating on the mountain.

I truly adore this place. I discovered it a few months ago while I was in Killington for my job, and after spending an evening in McGrath's Irish Pub (located inside the inn), I decided it's where I wanted to spend Paddy's Day. I'm so glad I did, and that I booked two nights at the inn. They had great bands, and it is really a family run business through and through. Everyone who works here is fantastic... Pam, Anne, Bob, Dan, Murray, Patty... I wish I had gotten every single person's name because everyone was wonderful. Highly recommend stopping in if you have the chance!

Stopped in for a burger pretty early on in the day (before the live music so I missed that entirely) was an interesting Irish themed atmosphere. The burger was impeccable, but the chips that came with it were out of the bag "ruffles" which toned down the hype for the meal. Still a great experience and would recommend in the future. It's right next to long trail where it's the AT so great spot for hikers too.

An A/T and L/T hiker paradise! Convenient laundry, Irish pub for lunch and dinner, a plentiful hiker box, plus a delicious breakfast included. It’s also a bus stop between Killington and Rutland for an easy resupply.

This inn was just perfect. We randomly picked it out for a weekend of amazing skiing and couldn't have been more lucky. The suite we got was warm and comfortable. Three hot tub was nice even though the jets weren't working at the time. The food was delicious, couldn't get enough of the Rubin. The bar has live music and a wonderful bar tender named Owen. We will be coming back here as often as we can.

You could search for millions of years and never stumble across a place like this. What other place will serve you hot breakfast, cook you a delicious dinner, serve you an adult beverage ( with live music) and provide a place for you to lay your head before shredding the Gnar?!Absolute gem, hospitality here is unlimited. Will definitely be back.

Quaint old school Inn. If you are expecting a modern hotel, this isn't it. What this is, is a rustic and charming Inn in the mountains with amazing staff. Oaky is awesome! The rooms are older in style, but are very comfortable and clean. The restaurant, food and waitstaff are excellent. We have certainly been to much higher end places that are no where as good as this one. Enjoy this Inn for what it is, not for what you think it should be.
