It’s an old school lodge, accurately portrayed in the listing. Great for big groups wanting a place to hang out together after hitting the slopes. Pool, hot tub & living room/lounge area were fun and convenient. Microwave & utensils provided in living room. Rooms are comfortable & clean, with mini fridge and juice/granola bars provided. Staff are super friendly.

After reading a mix of reviews, I approached my stay at Cascade Lodge with an open mind and was pleasantly surprised. It seems some previous visitors may not have fully appreciated the charm and purpose of a ski lodge. In my experience, Cascade Lodge delivers exactly what it promises: a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment perfect for ski enthusiasts or anyone looking to enjoy the mountain. The lodge offers spacious accommodations with a variety of community areas that invite guests to relax and connect after a day on the slopes. It's not a 5-star luxury hotel, nor does it pretend to be one. Instead, Cascade Lodge provides a cozy, rustic charm that fits perfectly with its ski lodge identity.Breakfast might not be the highlight, but the lodge doesn’t oversell this aspect, and the daily replenished juice is a thoughtful touch. Despite some reviews criticizing the water quality, the lodge thoughtfully provides a water filling station at the front, ensuring guests have access to clean drinking water. The staff at Cascade Lodge are easy-going and incredibly helpful, adding to the overall positive experience of my stay. Their laid-back yet attentive approach made me feel right at home. For anyone considering a visit, remember that Cascade Lodge is a wonderful ski lodge close to the mountains, not a luxury hotel. It excels at being a comfortable, friendly base for your skiing adventures. I highly recommend it to those looking for a genuine lodge experience and am already looking forward to my next stay.Rooms: Spacious and clean, they are fine. Nothing special but they are great for what you get .Nearby activities: 7 minute walk to the mountains it's perfectWalkability: A few restaurants close by but an easy drive otherwise and can walk to the mountains

This place is perfect for a ski weekend. It’s as described so you know what you’re getting. The beds are a tight squeeze for 2 people but it’s possible and the rooms are perfectly suitable. The granola bars and juice are given for breakfast. The rooms are cleaned daily and the staff are very friendly too. Parking is free which is a plus but the walk to the ski base is insanely close so the location is perfect for a weekend tripNearby activities: Killington distillery right next door and a shuttle bus does pick you up to the wobbly and other areasWalkability: So close to the mountain, 7 mins

Rustic lodge conveniently located in close proximity to Killington. It was perfect for our purposes as we were on the mountain most of the day - the rooms were super warm and beds comfy. Staff was welcoming and appreciated their willingness to accommodate our large group. Indoor jacuzzi and pool were a great plus! Shuttle stops right out front, so no need to drive to the resort. We’ll definitely be coming back here next year!

Have stayed here twice with a very large group. We have had a great time on both occasions. Proximity to the mountain is fantastic. Shuttle to and from mountain makes for great convenience. Is definitely a rustic mountain cabin feel. Water refill stations in the various public spaces. The pool and hot tub are great. Staff and owner very accommodating. Allowing the group to congregate. They put juice and granola bars in the rooms. Can see the slopes from the mountain facing windows.Rooms: Old, but good amount of space.Nearby activities: Killington Mountain Resort

Great location.no breakfast, so you have to either bring food or go somewhere else. No micro wave to heat up food. I think there is a shared micro wave in the hallway! Yuck.Great location though.Old outdated but worth the price for the location don't expect much more than a place to sleep.Noteworthy details: Bus into Rutland is free both ways.

Planning a last minute trip with my son, IWas looking for something with best bang for your buck and I didn't check reviews ( not that kind of guy) the office staff made arrangements for me as I would be arriving late, place was quite, warm, comfy, cozy and a view to the mountains that will last a lifetime. Our room was maintained and supplied with snacks and juice and fresh towels. I didn't realize how close to the mountain I was staying but it's across a large parking lot.....didn't matter because shuttles stop at the entrance drive to get you there and back. The very nice lady in the office stated park your vehicle in the back because you won't need it and she was right, everything you need is close. In the roo. Its set up you bring all your gear in and get ready and step out to catch a shuttle. Upon leaving I checked rates and 40 min away in town was comparable ( no need to book anywhere else ) I plan on coming back to stay in warmer months to enjoy mountain biking. Thank you to all the friendly staff. We did use the pool and hot tub that was great.Living room areas, lounge areas, bar areaWe for sure will be back.Rooms: Perfect for what you need to stay and get a good sleepSafety: Key cards to enter and exit.

The location and accommodations are great for a large ski club. The staff was very friendly and inviting of the multiple ski clubs staying onsite, and were helpful in coordinating. The rooms are your standard ski lodge set up - good for sharing. (But they can get a little warm with not much option to turn down the temperature.)The hotel offers free shuttle service to Killington, and to Pickle Barrel for some night life! Just be sure to tip your drivers! The rooms are as described - it's an old lodge! Bring a refillable water bottle though, and only drink the filtered water they provide in the lobby. All things considered, I would return for the convenience.

Cascade Lodge's dated appearance is accurately represented in the photos, so it's unfair for people to criticize its age. While it may not boast contemporary aesthetics, it compensates with its cleanliness, comfort, and affordability. The lodge's charm lies in its simplicity, providing a cozy retreat for travellers seeking a ski getaway. Despite its older design, Cascade Lodge delivers on its promise of a comfortable stay without any unpleasant surprises. We had a lovely view from our balcony, in room coffee and granola bars for breakfast/snack on the mountain.Myself and the group I came with would come back, it was the perfect little spot for a weekend in mount killington!

the cascades lodge is an amazing place to stay if you are going skiing/snowboarding with a large group. they were able to accommodate a very large group i was a part of with no problem as well as other groups. they provided multiple common areas for us to hang out and congregate. the free shuttle too and from killington snowshed is a major bonus, as well as the hot tub and pool. hotel staff and the owner are all incredibly kind and helpful and i cannot wait to stay here again with my group next year!Nearby activities: several bars including the pickle barrel within a short distance.Food & drinks: plenty of options within 10 minutes of the hotel and even right across the street

This will be my go to hotel from now on. Very close to the mountain and so convenient. Shuttle stops right in front, but you can walk right to the slopes if you choose to. Car chargers are right across the street and you can grab dinner and even go to massage parlor next door without having to jump in your car. Rooms are awesome at accomodating large groups. The staff is very friendly, relaxed, and very accommodating to our requests.

Charming Lodge close to Killington, Okemo and Stowe. Stayed for a weekend with a large group and enjoyed my time here. The rooms were clean and maintained. Loved the pool and lounge area. Pia the manager was so awesome. She was helpful at check in and willing to answer any questions you may have. Truely enjoyed her energy. 🤩 Can't wait to some back next year.Noteworthy details: Very close to ski mountains.

Polite staff, excellent location, pool, hot tub, free shuttle to killington and pickle bar nightclub.Only drawbacks is that it’s too hot in the rooms, the tap water tastes really bad (they have filtered water in the front so bring a water bottle to refill), and the rooms are a bit dated. Can’t complain though, they were really accommodating!Nearby activities: Killington ski resortFood & drinks: Bar in the cascades hotel

A member of my party has a sensitivity to fragranced cleaning products. We called ahead to discuss prior to booking. Employee was dismissive and would not give a clear answer aside from giving us the cleaning company's number. Cleaning company stated the did not use fragrance.Upon arrival the entire hotel was scented wall to wall making it impossible for us to stay there. When I discussed any sort of a refund I was told absolutely not.Outdated, misleading and expensive. Avoid at all costs.

Staying at this hotel is a disheartening experience - this place is a disaster waiting to ruin your day. Families with young children are met with a shocking lack of empathy. Noise ordinances are non-existent, the front desk treats you like an inconvenience, and management's incompetence and inability to enforce rules is staggering. Spare yourself the frustration and find somewhere else to stay.Noteworthy details: Do not stay here with young children - they will not care about a single complaint you make. Management only cares about having a full hotel and treats families with extreme disrespect.

Loved my stay here! Had a last minute emergency with another hotel (hilton) and the manager Pia was able to take us in last minute for the price we originally paid months ago. The hotel has a very old feel to it, which was kind of nice if you don't mind the outdated amenities. But everything worked as it should, the hot tub and pool were great and the location is unbeatable!

Book another place if you still have time. The two stars are for the very convenient location and kind staff. Otherwise this place is a joke. I understand holiday travel is tough, but still can't believe I'm paying $600 a night for the following:"Breakfast included": it's just a granular bar and a bottle of juice for each night.Large "Restaurant/lodge" sign in front of the lodge: good luck finding the restaurant - nothing. The water from the faucet has a weird smell - I felt like in the swimming pool when showering and drinking salty water when brushing teeth. No elevator in the building - you can use the bell cart, but just for 50ft."Free wifi": super slow, once I logged onto Netflix and the wifi directly kicked me off and blocked my Mac address. There's a sign saying - no ski boots in the building, but come on, the point of living near the base lodge and having shuttle service is to be able to get ready to ski inside the hotel room. There's no ski storage outside of the building, you'll need to carry all your gears into your room - again, without an elevator. There's also a sign saying: "Persons remaining after 11am, will be charged for an additional day". Even though I've never missed checkout deadlines, seeing such a sign still feels so mean. The sad thing is - I cannot say I'll never book this place again - when it's hard to book in advance and with kids, this place still provides some convenience.

Solid 4 stars. Staff is friendly, location can’t be beat, hotel is very quiet, pool and jacuzzi are clean and awesome at the end of the day. TVs and rooms are dated, but location makes up for that. The most recent 1-star review a day before I arrived scared me, and thankfully most of it was complete nonsense. To address some of the points - no issues walking all the way to my room with skis in hand and snow boots on, nobody said anything - WiFi has at least 6-7 networks throughout the hotel, it’s not super fast but definitely enough to run Netflix - water in rooms didn’t smell for me and shower / brushing teeth was no problem - PS: the bad review forgot to mention the sign by the pool that says minimum $25,000 fine if the sliding doors are opened 🤣

The rooms are pretty much run of the mill two beds and some space. Everything was clean, and the towels, pillows and all of the linen were upgraded and better than expected. But this place shines in two major ways. First, the management. We work directly with management to make the reservation and they were very thankful. They gave us a great rate, more importantly when I was a bad storm and we were stuck, they allowed us to come a couple days later without any penalty. That was above and beyond what they needed to do. And there's in my opinion a big difference between someone who does something, and someone who does it in a pleasant and understanding way. The warmth of the management really shown through and I felt more of a family guest than someone renting a room. The other big plus of this place is that they are literally across the street and down the block a little bit from the Killington Grand. In other words, they are in the middle of all the action. Short walk to a great restaurant called Still on the Mountain, and they have their own shuttle that goes back and forth every 15 minutes. It's a easy, no stress way to get from the room to the slopes and back again. One last thing, they have a indoor heated pool and jacuzzi. There seems to be a lot of excitement over outdoor pools. And they do have their charm, but after a long day on the slopes in some freezing weather, I kind of like a warm room above my hot water jacuzzi 😊.Given all this, and given the holiday season, I believe that rates were more than fair. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay close to the action at Killington!

Great location and clean, but that was it.Everything needs updating- old tube TV, rock hard mattress, puzzles as wall art, no bar or breakfast, and short staff (who worked hard). At 11:30 pm they opened our door, unannounced, and woke us up to ask us to turn down the radiator because the pipe was making noise

I stayed here just a few weeks ago, in December 2021. First, I will say that everything in this lodge is pretty awesome. Yes, it is a tad outdated, but it is in excellent condition, was renovated, extremely clean, and warm. There are no weird smells or nasty stains. People that work here are lovely and helpful. The service is excellent. Food is delicious. The bar is fun and has all you need including pool table. We enjoyed the swim in the beautifully clean and warm pool and jacuzzi. It is super close to the mountains; we walked daily. The only few notes that I might have are that the mattresses and pillows are tough, very hard. While mattresses are expensive to change, I would recommend that the owners invest in new pillows. If you are driving here, grab your favorite pillows for a better night rest :) other than that, enjoy this wonderful place for a very affordable price! Nothing can beat a full breakfast and the pool!

Good breakfast incluid: sausage, eggs, French toast. Fruit, cereal and coffee. The customer service very good. The bedroom is too old, and the bed isn’t comfortable, skinny pillows, holes in the walls.Very good location, close to the mountain. The jacuzzi and pool very nice but this needs to be cleaned better around the edges. If they could renovate the rooms, I would return, on the contrary I wouldn’t return, because my family and I did not sleep comfortably. sleeping well is very important when doing sports.the price is very high for how old the hotel is.
