Good luck trying to shop while they’re actually open. Handmade “Closed Early” signs are very common, even when there are employees present.When I’ve made it inside, it smells like sadness.4.5 / 10

Would be helpful to have consistent hours so that people know when they can shop there without having to waste time driving over and seeing the written signs saying 'closed'.

This place is rude to ALL employees and that's most likely why they are so short staffed. No one enjoys working there.I'm currently an employee here and I'm ready to quit. I left my shift early last night due to being sick. All my previous jobs during the pandemic required me to have a negitive covid test result before returning in a situation like this.Naturally I called to ask if this is also Dollar Generals policy to see if I can return to work or not.Once the phone is answered I say my name and IMMEDIATELY am cut off. I was told the following before even having a chance to ask my question: "Yeah I get it, your calling out. Bye". And then she hung up!The way she said it was beyond rude just like the fact it's rude I couldn't even have a chance to talk. I've never called out during the time I've worked there so it was uncalled for to assume that openly the way she had; despite me being 'under the weather' last night. Its one thing to think it in your head vs what had actually happened. She should have let me speak instead of making a rude assumption then hanging up.Or else I would have been at work today (if allowed) instead of sitting in the house.What's worse my question wasn't even answered. I'm STILL unsure if I can return without being tested.Furthermore, the register computer system is so out-of-date. It acts up almost daily causing customers to struggle paying with card. The pin pad screen will freeze and go black. The whole pin pad then needs to be reset and then try again. The other register doesn't even work half the time and when it does it can only take cash. Overall resulting in only one working register causing a large line of people considering there can only be one cashier.I've seen a few instances where workers aren't nice to the customers either but not necessarily enough to complain about. It's just them having a bad day and not wanting to be at work

Great store for the Hardwick Community. Store look better than usual the last time I . there was Not any freight in the aisles in and Aaron was sweeping as usual keeping the store looking its best. I guess the only discouraging Thing was there were other employees they're hanging out in the office when there were at least 3 customers and they never came out to help. Aaron had to put down his broom to ring us up and he did this in a very professional manner. It is toobad that the others chose to ignore the customer and have fun while leaving only one to work. You have a Gem in Aaron keep them happy I hate that see him leave.

Johnathan is always nice. Store is always a mess as all workers have to cashier and stock. They need separate stockers. I don't think most people wanted a dollar store in town but it does help when you need something and don't want to leave town.

Great little store! Got everything I needed, some snack for camping, a jug of water, a warm beanie and a poncho. Also someone left this cute note with a ducky attached to my door handle when I was inside, but I don’t have social media, so I’m posting it here! #duckingjeeps #duckduckjeep

This store looks nice on the outside, but it’s a complete mess on the inside. Merchandise looks like it has been throw onto the shelves...or just straight on the floor. I won’t be going out of my way to visit this DG location.

General dollar is the only local store that provides non perishable items. However our local one has some really decent people working there. It makes it pleasant going in there.

Many people opposed the store being built in Hardwick but the store is there and I couldnt be happier. It has allowed for growth of the town and it offers jobs for those that cannot get to work outside of town due to lack or private and public transportation. Maybe this will be the next move Hardwick makes,..public transportation. Lets put the town on the map for our growth not for the negative aspects most read and see in Hardwick.I have to say the prices are a bit more than I thought they would be but overall I give the place 4 stars :)

This place is always a disastrous mess, cant walk through the aisles. What are they paying there employees to do, if the shelf doesn't have what your looking for just check the 20 u-boats of product that are just hanging out in the sales floor.

If a lack of personality is quality, they'd get a 3 star rating, but thats as high as it could get since the store is dirty, and the use of masks isn't practiced by staff or customers.

It's a nice convenient store and location,but it suffers from lack of employees,there's a great deal of clutter in isles,and boxes full of stuff to be restocked,that just sits there for unlimited amounts of time.

Getting through the isle is a nightmare boxes items shelves all horrible dirty cashiers are nice but the store it self is disgusting I've yet to see any dollar general cared for out of the 6 in Vermont I've been too AUG 5TH 2021 RUDE RUDE RISE CASHIERS

This place is a disaster ! There was freight stacked up everywhere in every isle , you can barely walk through and what little there is on the shelves is strewn everywhere , it is literally a hot mess !!! Corporate needs to step in and start from scratch !!!

Terrible store . Staff complains they want to go home while waiting on customers, shelves are empty while aisles are full of inventory isn’t put away .....Close the store if you can’t get it together....
