Wonderful brewery out in the country in Vermont! The staff is friendly and efficient. The beer is very high quality, and the setting is beautiful! You should definitely check this place out!

A great place with great views and beers as well as friendly staff. We never buy growlers anymore, but we did buy one here, as well as $200 worth of beer from the bottle shop!

Disappointing at best, and some of these beers are downright distasteful. The philosophy here seems to be "make beer like you would wine" and the end result fails hard. Don't bother with any of the IPAs or IIPAs. The darker, heavier beers are really all they have that's palatable. I've heard this place used to be great, but these days it seems they're more about the esoteric than the flavorful. At least they let you bring your own food.

I visited back on Dec 01, 2021. I was bored and somehow got a kick out of reading the bad reviews so I figured I would share my experience. So after a 4+ hour road trip, being taken down the countriest of country roads by my GPS and no cell service to speak of, I subsequently slid off the road into a ditch doing some nice damage to my vehicle. Thank God for a local with a tow strap. Once we were back on civilized roads a local plow almost took us out. The mission had to continue of course.I realized too late that there was a reservation system so I reserved and showed up early to see what would happen. Thankfully it wasn't over the top busy and the time of the reservation wasn't really given too much credence. After a short wait in a badly laid out line, and some indecision with the menu I had a pour of Charlie. It was nice to see something low gravity that I could enjoy considering I wasn't too thrilled about potentially sliding or being run off the icy roads on the way out. Unlike some other reviewers experiences, I found the staff to be pleasant. The girl working the bar was very nice and helpful.I enjoyed my beer out on the deck because we weren't able to sit inside for one reason or another. It was rather full and maybe it had something to do with the reservation process, I don't remember (I don't like boisterous indoor bar areas anyhow). So I took in a very nice snowy view of some barrels stacked in a field down the hill. It was also amusing to people watch the French Canadian hipsters swirling and sniffing their sour beers as if it were the finest of fine French wines. On the way out we stopped to grab some bottles to go and the line was long but not the worst I have ever been in. This line was mostly because of some more French Canadians buying hand truck after hand truck of beer (I would love to see how they smuggled that back). The walk back to the vehicle was kinda sketchy due to the ice and snow and now added imbalance of having to carry bottles and cans. Yet I survived.Overall it was not what I expected and yet everything I expected. It was a fun drive aside from the unintended off roading. Best to visit in the spring, fall, or summer I imagine.I'd definitely stop by again if I was in the area but I think one hyped up pilgrimage was enough considering there is a place local to me putting out the same types of beers in a similar setting that I enjoy more. But taste is subjective. It's worth the visit at least once especially if you can sneak in during the off-peak times. Not sure how crazy things get these days with the craft beer industry leveling out a bit.If you are up for an adventure or just passing through to parts unknown I would recommend stopping by and enjoying a beer on the deck. And don't get too crazy about inconveniences, it's a brewery not a Michelin Star restaurant.

Hill Farmstead is my all time favorite brewery! It’s well worth the drive and beautiful in every season, but especially late summer/early fall. Service is always excellent, even when it’s really busy and there’s a line out the door. I wish I lived closer so that I could visit more often.

What a cool place for beer fans! You drive for a while wondering if you're going at the right place, and then boom, here it is! Super crowded! A lot of place to play outside! And the beers... Oh man! I recommend you try their bottled beers served in a glass, my favourite was their stouts! It's definitely worth the detour!

Definitely worth the trip. It's a little out of the way but the beer, and staff were great.Went on their anniversary weekend so to say that it was busy is an understatement. They had special beers that only come out rarely, and which were great, so the queue was worth it. The staff were really nice (and patient) despite it being so busy. We'll have to go back when it's not an anniversary to compare, but it is without question worth the trip.

7 years it took to visit this place. It was absolutely worth the wait. Checked all my HF boxes. And the bottle list during my coincidental visit couldn't possibly have been any better. On site bottle pours of Ann x3, art x2, and double barrel aaron x2!?Best day of the last 365 to stop here for beers. Bucket list item checked off.

The appreciation of the people drinking for the lovingly and skillfully crafted beer was almost tangible. Great friendly, helpful, patient, and knowledgeable staff in the tap room too!

Amazing experience. Tons of exclusives with menu rotating daily. Highly recommended especially if you’re partial to spontaneous or wild fermentation beer. Just wish they had a bit more food although I’m sure this intentional given how busy they can get. Wednesdays and Thursdays are the best days to visit; the brewers are working and there’s no line to get in or order.

Insane brewery!! Its not just a beer. Google, it's so much more than "just a beer." I mean... that first sip-oh, what heaven that first sip is. The foam, like a soft breast of an angel, resting gently on the liquid below, flavors mingling in a seductive harmony. Needless to say, highly recommend!

A beautiful location where the journey there is part of the experience. The taproom is beautiful, if not overly large, and we went on a windy but fair spring day where it wasn't that busy but still felt a bit cramped inside. Very nice outdoor area though. Oddly the only sign for the place was a dilapidated wooden sign at the entrance, but the vibe was very "if you know, you know" so maybe that's on purpose.Only 1 indoor bathroom is strange, but there's an exterior bathroom trailer that is quite nice. You're coming here for the beer, though, and it is excellent as you'd expect. We weren't overwhelmed by the variety of beers on tap, but really enjoyed a plum farmhouse ale from a bottle. It's worth the trip and the experience, and bring some beers back home for jealous friends.

Delicious beer! Really big open space with enough seating for everyone. They let you bring your own food. So, we went to Parker Pie Co and got some pizzas to compliment the beer.

Good beer and a nice relaxed vibe. I am told it can be quite busy but upon my first visit it was not crowded but still lively. Great to sit outside

Hill Farmstead brewery is a mecca for beer lovers and I highly recommend making the pilgrimage here. Many beer enthusiasts consider Hill Farmstead to be the best brewery in the world and, after visiting, it would be hard for me to disagree. The location in Greensboro Bend, Vermont is a quiet sanctuary nestled in the mountains and a perfect area for leaf peeping in the fall. The beer varieties are many, so plan on staying a while to taste as many as possible (hopefully you have a dd). And, set aside some cooler space to take some home or to your next New England destination. If you love beer, go here.

The curated experience was fantastic! There was nothing about Hill Farmstead to not like. Beautiful location, fantastic helpful staff, incredible beers! If you enjoy artisan & craft brew, this is an absolute MUST VISIT! Matter of fact, make it number 1 on your brewery bucket list. You will not regret it! Pack a picnic (or buy the small charcuterie offered), sit back and enjoy! Cannot wait to go back!

We drove all the way from Maryland to visit Hill Farmstead and we would do it again in a heartbeat. Amazing beer, amazing location, amazing staff, amazing everything. The curated bottle experience was incredible. There is nothing like sitting out on the porch of hill farmstead, gazing at the Vermont mountains in the distance, and sipping their delicious beer. My favorite brewery experience to date.

There’s a reason this brewery wins so many rewards— it’s incredible. The views are breathtaking. The beers are excellent and the general vibe is sooo relaxing. The drive up there itself is gorgeous - pure nature. If you like beer and nature you need to visit.

The best brewery in the world -- the beer quality, staff, old-word approach to brewing, hospitality, food/cheese, ambiance and experience. The property is beautiful. Could sit inside or outside and just gave out at the mountains all day, while sipping the best beer in the world. Shaun's humility and experience shine through in his business. HF never ceases to amaze me, which is why I keep coming back, even living 10+ hours.

Please note, even if you buy bottles to go, you aren't allowed to do them as you please. A brown nosing clown sent hill farmstead screenshots of people selling beers they owned which lead to dozens of folks being banned for life. I can almost understand it, but they handled it horrifically, they let you stand in line for hours, when you get to the front the mutants from "The Hills Have Eyes" will stare at you with the one eye that stares straight forward and loudly (essentially yell/scream) at you that you're banned for life in front of the entire line. If you like rude hillbillies with crooked eyes/teeth that make pretty good beer, this is the spot for you.

Amazing experience getting there and well worth the drive - though beware the dirt roads can be rough! It's a really comfortable place, family friendly and the staff is welcoming and talkative. They enjoy finding out where you're from and where you're going, and are happy to toss out some recommendations. The beer speaks for itself!

Head online and book ahead to reserve your spot at this craft beer mecca.Rare bottles are on offer in the tasting room along with a half dozen taps. There's also an efficient retail store on the property offering to go bottles and cans.

Well worth a visit. Lived up to the hype for us despite the crowd (holiday weekend). Beers are excellent. Setting is top notch. Would’ve brought the Tacoma had I realized all the backcountry dirt road I drove on up here...but did fine with the family sedan and some caution. Really dig everything about this area.

An excellent place for some beers on a warm October day. I am not sure what the point of the reservations is as everyone was seemingly able to order the same beers as those with reservations. They ran out of stuff on the menu that was listed. Maybe they should have held back some from the weekend? The lines to get more beer are long and they do not open a tab. Instead they charge you each time, which Toast loves as their credit card processor. Also, maybe don’t’ just limit the rare-ish beers in the bottle shop? A lady in front of me could have bought out the whole place out. Still, it is the beer mecca it has earned. I was able to have some amazing pours like some Vanilla Everett and Ann. I can see why this is one of the best breweries in the world.

Finally made it to the mecca of craft breweries! Our small group followed our local uncle's advice and made the hour drive from Stowe. When you've got a chance to visit what many call the best craft brewery in the country, an hour's drive is nothing. We mostly went on faith, as this beer hasn't made it to Texas (that I know of). When we arrived we were relieved to see that the crowd was pretty light, which we were told is a rarity since this was a Saturday at lunch time. We went right in and only waited a few minutes before we were lined up at the tasting counter. An extremely knowledgeable and friendly lady gave us a bunch of samples, and told us all we wanted to know about the place, their processes, and their beers.OK, so how best to say this?....WOW! The hype is well deserved, and every beer we tried was clean, crisp, complex, and just beautiful.Needless to say we loaded up at the purchase counter, happily paying $18 for each 4-pack of 16-ouncers. Our group of four wound up taking home about four cases, and I had to buy a new cooler at Walmart to get it back to Texas without letting it get warm. (Worth it!)So now I'm the proud owner of two cases of George, Marie, and Society & Solitude #4. I'm trying hard not to drink a couple of them every night, with mixed success.Bottom line: a beautiful brewery, great service, and outstanding beer. Can't wait to go back.

I'm pretty sure that if you're reading these reviews, you already know what you're looking for. Hill's not a place where you end up accidentally. But if you do, boy aren't you in luck :)Hill was one of the very first things mentioned when we talked about a potential road trip to US. It acted as one of the constants that we used to form our trip around. It was totally worth the wait 🍻The only thing I'd change is the offer for an actual food on top of cheese-plates & olives. Additionally it'd be perfect to have a some sort of carpooling service as the uber does not work in the area. It'd help a lot unless you have a designated driver with you.

If you enjoy craft beer, Hill Farmstead is a bucket list item you need to cross off. Wow. It's situated on a beautiful area in Vermont with scenic views, outdoor seating, and a tap list you truly dream of drinking from. We were lucky on our date to drink a variety of limited beers including Samuel. Even better, was their wood-fired pizza food truck (Hook & Reel?). That was the BEST wood-fired pizza I've ever had. Props to them. As you can see from other reviews, it's worth the drive... all day long. Great staff, great location, great beers. You need to go here. Seriously.

The hype train gets ridiculous at times. This time, it's pretty spot on. Is HF worth the drive? Probably. It's very, very good. Just be warned that cell service/maps programs may fail near the brewery. Also, bring food (unless they have a truck that day) as you will want to stay for a while.

I visited a few times before July for pickup only but there was nothing like the experience of enjoying a few pours at the best brewery in the world on the most beautiful property. The olives and Cabot Jasper Hill Clothbound Cheddar ( top 2 in cheeses I've ever tried) were amazing paired with the brews. This place is amazing. Worth the trip! All staff are INCREDIBLE!
