The Grafton Inn was the perfect place for a solo getaway. I did some cross country skiing after checking in, had a delicious dinner at the bar, and went for a walk around the village to see the moon, stars, and all the houses lit up with candles. The bed was so comfortable and the bathroom was large and modern for an inn. The breakfast in the morning was delicious and then I did a winter hike back at their activity center. I felt safe and cozy the whole time and I love that I didn't have to find outside places for dinner and breakfast. I'll be back soon! Thank you for this much needed winter retreat!

We had a delightful surprise weekend away for my husband’s 70th birthday and just returned home. There were nine of so we stayed in a house, which was perfect. Meals at the Phelps barn and in the dining room were delicious and breakfasts were hearty and yummy. What made it really over the top were all the people who work at the inn: every server was pleasant and friendly and went over and above to wish my husband a happy birthday. The inn is truly lovely, and the people make it stellar!Thank you for a great weekend!Rooms: Clean, lovely decor and colorsNearby activities: Trails, shops, Nature Museum were great.Safety: Small town living!Walkability: Everything is within walking distance and Grafton is just beautiful!Food & drinks: Delicious!

The Grafton Inn became our favorite go to Inn in Vermont back in 2018 while looking for the perfect winter Wedding Venue. They have amazing food, the most kind and caring staff and beautiful accommodations. Our 2019 wedding is still spoken of fondly by our family and friends. Some of which have returned just to enjoy a getaway in this beautiful Vermont town.We have of course returned as well, and this is perhaps one of the best reasons to choose the Grafton Inn for your wedding. You can return year after year making new memories as your family grows. You can look back and remember that special day while you share those special memories with your children. While we fell in love with the Grafton Inn for our wedding… we fall in love with it even more every time we return. Many thanks to all of the loyal Grafton Inn staff that remain dedicated to keeping the Grafton Inn such a special place to visit ❤️

We were delighted with our 2 night “Stay and Play” midweek stay in February. Parking was easy, 2 beautiful fireplaces were crackling in the Main Inn front rooms warming us as we entered to check-into our room. The innkeepers and staff were extremely helpful. We totally enjoys the well groomed trails at the Trail Center for cross-country, snow shoeing and fat tire biking.Dinner in the Phelps Barn was excellent- perfectly cooked, and delivered pipping hot to our table. (Both the Fish and Chips and Lamb Shank w/ Creamy Risotto were delicious).Afternoon tea/coffee and cookies were excellent.Only suggestions would be the mattress was very soft, and itneeds updating. However, the bathroom was very clean and recently updated. The game with pool table could also be refreshed, maybe closed up all winter, and had a displeasing musty smell.

We just returned from a Murder Mystery weekend at the Grafton Imn. Everything , from the first dinner in the Phelps Barn to the final Sunday morning breakfast were excellent. The accomodations and the Inn's staff were top notch. The murder mystery was a lot I fun and veryone there was extremely friendly and helpful. The additional 16 inches of snow added to the ambience of the Inn and the town. We were especially impressed by the staff and would like to reiterate our thanks for them making this a most memorable weekend.Rooms: Our room was quite comfortable and the hot shower had great water pressure.

We had a two night, two room stay the end of December. The food was delicious, both nights and so was the breakfast. The dining service staff was excellent and the atmosphere was very nice. We stayed in the Wyndam house and the rooms were very clean and spacious enough but they definitely need a refurbishment. The carpet in our room was ripped in two spots, the closet door was very difficult to open and the shower door on the tub was also difficult to close and made a lot of noise. The whole bathroom had a dated look. For a Select Registry property, I don't feel the rooms measure up. I realize that this was only two of your many rooms but based on past stays over the years, my wife and I don't feel the rooms are as nice as the rest of the property.Rooms: below parFood & drinks: excellentNoteworthy details: nice fireplaces

For the first time we decided to go away for Thanksgiving and have someone else cook our dinner! We chose the Grafton Inn in Grafton, Vermont and boy, were we pleased! We booked a two night stay and reserved a table for both Wednesday night dinner in the Phelps Barn and Thanksgiving dinner in the Inn’s Tavern. Our room accommodations could not have been nicer, a big comfy room overlooking the Main Street of Grafton (so quiet) and super nice staff ready to help at a moment’s notice. Both the breakfasts and dinners were locally sourced food, cooked to perfection. We had such generous portions that we were able to bring home the leftovers to enjoy the next day. Our stay was just perfect….leaving us to wonder why it took us so long to take advantage of this marvelous Inn. We will certainly be returning to enjoy the accommodations, food and lovely staff as well as check out the various seasonal opportunities the area provides. Thank you Grafton Inn!

We’ll once again, Grafton Inn has outdone themselves! The cozy lobby room was warm and toast with a welcoming fire, delicious coffee and cookies always available at check in. Our favorite room never disappoints, fully stocked, beautifully decorated and meticulously clean! We had dinner in the barn which included some of the best margaritas we’ve had anywhere. Breakfast was perfect as well.Grafton Inn is a terrific getaway and we highly recommend! Thanks to all who made our stay just perfect!

I took my sister to Vermont for some Christmas shopping and stayed at the Grafton Inn for one night; after some confusion about where our rooms were located (across the street from the Inn itself), the Inn night manager (Sean) and front desk person (Corrine) quickly and pleasantly rectified the issue and even found us in the dining room to tell us personally. My only comment is to ensure you know where your room is located since they have several buildings around the village they own and occupy for their guests. Don’t get me wrong, the rooms were lovely; I was just disappointed that I was unaware we would be in a different building other than the Inn's main building. They call them their village rooms.Merry Christmas to all of the excellent staff!A. Ross

We just returned home from the Grafton Inn after a wonderful wedding celebration. The Inn was beautiful and very picturesque. There was something to see around every corner. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and pleasant. The amenities, food, etc was top notch. Everything was beautiful and well designed. We had an awesome stay and would recommend The Grafton Inn to anyone who wants to experience Vermont hospitality at its finest in a picturesque village setting. Thank you.Rooms: The rooms were very comfortable and the suite we stayed in was spacious. The only suggestion we have is that the outside lights on the 2nd floor porch be shut off by 10:00 pm outside the bedrooms or get room darkening curtains. Even with the blinds closed and curtains closed it felt like we were trying to sleep in daylight.Nearby activities: Although we didn’t participate in much of the local activities there was plenty of things to do and lots of maps and suggestions for day trips.Walkability: We were only at the Inn for 2 days for a wedding. We did utilize several of the buildings for various wedding events, I.e., rehearsal, ceremony and reception. Every building had a lot to see as far as structure and design. It was a wonderful experience.Food & drinks: The rehearsal dinner, buffet breakfast and wedding dinner was all outstanding.

Everything about our stay was delightful. Our room was charming, the staff was accommodating. We enjoyed dinner, drinks and live music at at Phelps Barn. Our stay here was unplanned but we’re so glad we found this place and were able to stay for one night. We would definitely visit again and would recommend The Grafton Inn to anyone wanting to stay in a charming, historic, country inn.

I did not enjoy finding out all rooms cost the same price when some people spent their nights in master suites with jacuzzi tubs and queen sized beds when others were stuffed into closet sized rooms with a full size bed and barely enough room to walk around it. The prices of rooms should be adjusted into tiers as any other hotel or inn would be. Furthermore, I was pretty disappointed in the staff as I am a person who often eats breakfast earlier than most and due to having various wedding set up responsibilities did not want to be distracted by socializing. I've never had an issue with dining alone in my life until coming here. I later find that the staff was not only rude to me, questioning multiple times that I was eating alone, proceeded to tell me how sad and lonely that is and then on top of that, alert the other guests to my "lonely" breakfast simply because they were staying in the same house as the closet I was assigned to. I did not enjoy my experience and I feel like I paid way too much money to be stuffed in a closet for 3 nights and ridiculed at breakfast 2 mornings in a row.

We had a wonderful 51st anniversary stay at the Grafton Inn this week. The staff was universally friendly and helpful, the food is excellent, and the accommodations are comfortable and true to period. We enjoyed live music on the patio while dining on two of the evenings. Grafton is peaceful and charming, too. We look forward to returning!Rooms: The rooms are beautifully furnished in early American fashion and yet have all the modern amenities we have come to expect.Safety: It feels like a very safe community and space.Food & drinks: The food was delicious and tastefully prepared with locally sourced ingredients.

10 years ago my husband and I eloped at The Grafton Inn and we have always had fond memories of it. We thought it would be really wonderful to renew our vows there and invited our friends and family to stay there and we had a dinner altogether. When you're at The inn you're treated like a dear friend. All of the staff were welcoming and accommodating. My brother in law saw my sister interacting with the front desk person and was like oh did you ask talk before/know each other? And she was like no they're just that friendly! We brought our own napkins and name cards and some other decorations and we brought the items in and we were going to come back to set up and that had already done it and they did a lovely job with it! My family and friends had a wonderful time and the food was delicious. It's a beautiful historical property run by amazing and dedicated staff members. I highly recommend the Grafton Inn to stay at or have an event at.

A quintessential and quaint New England Inn and town. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. The breakfasts and dinners were delicious. The restaurant has live music on Friday and Saturday nights and both bands were fantastic! The town of Grafton is unbelievably charming with a delightful country store and gorgeous walking trails nearby. Very laid back and relaxing weekend. We were in the Cricketers building in the back. The room was very big with a wood burning fireplace, sitting area, oversized bathroom and a super comfy bed. Huge widows overlooking a lovely patio area were great with tons of natural light.

This is the perfect place to go to unwind and get away. We loved everything about this place. The entire staff was amazing. Mercedes, Issy, Lisa, Luna, Joanne, Kirk, Angela, are just a few names I remember. All were helpful, friendly and are a great team together. The grounds are clean with a beautiful surrounding. We stayed in the Wydham Cottage across the street from the main Inn. We were right by the entrance door and didn't hear anyone coming or going during our stay. There is fresh baked pastries in the morning and afternoon in the main office area. The breakfast and dinners were superb! Outstanding food! Such a beautiful, quiet area. We are excited to return next year.

You cannot find a more courteous, accommodating staff which frankly is the most important component of my travel criterion. However, in this case if you add in the outstanding accommodations, geographic location, food, libations and amenities you will not want to leave but when you do it will be in a much more relaxed and calmer frame of mind. Sean, and Jennifer in particular went above and beyond to make our 2 night's stay memorable. We can't wait to go back. Thank you EVERYONE at The Grafton Inn

This Inn is the total package if you are looking to unplug and unwind! Beautiful buildings (yes more than 1!!!) make up the Grafton Inn, each with its own charm and personality. Guest rooms are spacious, well stocked with coffee and toiletries. Fun game room space, delicious home made cookies daily, and an amazing pub restaurant with live music!! This was a girls weekend and we had a blast!

We had the most wonderful winter weekend at the Grafton Inn! Our son was married this weekend, and the Inn was most accommodating! The ceremony, cocktail hour and dinner were awesome. The staff was absolutely wonderful; couldn't do enough for us! The 1800 decor and history of the inn was lovely. We loved the fireplaces and each always had a fire going! The food at Phelps Barn was delicious, and the service was great! We couldn't have had a better time! We'll be back!

The Grafton Inn is pure New England charm. The quaint town center is a step back in time and allows you to unplug and unwind. The inn is filled with beautiful antiques while providing their guest modern amenities. The staff is friendly and welcoming and each one of them made you feel welcome. The dinner and breakfast were five stars, can’t wait to go for a return visit.

My wife and I went here for an anniversary weekend. Extremely relaxing getaway. You literally get away here. The town has approximately 700 people, which is less than the building that I work in when it is at full capacity. The locals are very pleasant. The inn itself is quaint and rustic and harkens to another place in time. My room didn't even have a television! But I didn't care. It actually felt good to unplug. There was wi-fi so I wasn't completely cut off. Excellent food at the Phelps Barn (scrumptious egg-rolls), which had live music at dinner,, and the French toast at breakfast was some of the best I ever had. Highly recommended.

The photos speak for themselves, but the Grafton Inn and surrounding town is like stepping into a Hallmark Movie. The Inn, tavern, dining room and all the accommodations deserve more than five stars. We stayed in the Tuttle House for the weekend and dined on site at both the Tavern and restaurant for meals, highly recommend both options for meals, breakfast and dinner. Lisa was our server both nights, she is truly the best.If you're looking for a quiet, sweet, cozy weekend away with just yourself, your significant other or a group of friend for activities around... this place really suits all aspects. I cannot wait to go back.

Beth and I drove to the Grafton Inn on Valentine's Day from Norwich, Vermont. In every way, the Inn exceeded our expectations. We were greeted and treated by everyone on staff with quiet, friendly competence. Our meals were superb. Our room and the entire Inn were charming, tasteful and spotless. The town is beautiful. It was a joy to be there.

The inn’s location is rural and Grafton is a cute little town. Everyone was very kind and helpful and the grounds are beautiful. Our room was very nice and comfortable. We ate both evenings at the Phelps Barn and sat on the patio. Most enjoyable. We had a relaxing couple of days just taking walks, exploring the few shops and playing pickleball! A very nice, relaxing weekend.
