Changed old review from 4 stars to 2 stars. Asked employee to help me find something on the shelf. "What we have on the shelf is what we have." Ok. Guess I'll drive 2 minutes to the other grocery store that actually tries to help me look or knows their product well enough they can conclusively tell me they don't carry it. Work on morale. It's desperately needed

Let's be clear... It's the Checkout employees' job to bag the groceries, not the customer. We can stand there all day long and stare at each other while others in line get upset. It's YOUR JOB to bag as well,What is the world coming to?

Same as Morrisville, a decent store but never enough cashiers. C'mon Price Chopper, step it up. FOLLOW UP 10/11/20: I am raising it from 1 to 3 stars since I went in today and there were 5 registers open, a couple baggers helping and everyone was doing a great job. It made the experience a lot better!! Nice to see improvement!Edit. 9/1/22: 7pm on a Thursday. Now there are NO cashiers. None. Back to 1 star.

I’m no longer going to be shopping at this price chopper because it is one of the worst in the area, it never has any hand baskets. Overall inventory is more sparse. Whenever I go here there’s always one or two items I can never find

This is a store that has been a favorite of mine for years! 24 hours of shopping bliss, shop when you want and side step the crowds. Especially convenient for those who work weird shifts such as nights. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. It is well worth the time to sign up and receive your Price Chopper card. There are some really amazing deals!

It's always clean I can usually find what I want and the pharmacist are great there. Only negative thing I have to say so far is the meat is priced higher than hannaford usually. However they seem to have decent quality meat.

Great location. Always has what I need to buy. Very clean store, and they are taking social distancing measures very seriously. I've always felt good shopping here and I feel safe doing so in these uncertain times. Best time to visit if you don't want a lot of other customers around is about 7 or 8.

Go to this location after work everyday, normally always there after 7AM, but a few times I get out early. Big sign on the door says 24 hours, but the doors are closed and locked until 6AM.It isn't a problem if there are shortened hours because of Covid, but a sign with the updated store hours would be really nice to see. Frustrating to walk up to locked doors when all the signage says they should be open.

The store itself is a pleasure; well stocked, nicely laid out, clean and well lit. There's a very helpful staff, and typically ample checkouts, including four self serve.The single-access parking lot can be a hassle during busy times. There's generally enough parking, but getting out of the lot can be a bit snarly.Overall, it's a nice place to shop, which is why my wife and have been going there all these years.

Store is very clean, even the bathrooms. It is organized well, it was easy to find everything on my list. They have a great deli with lots of fresh meats/cheeses ready to slice for lunches as well as hot meals made daily

The main complaint I have against the Essex Junction store is their produce and deli departments. Often they don't have "staple" vegetables (ie celery, radishes, etc) on hand. Also, far too often some of their fruits and/or vegetables are over ripe, rotting, or are moldy. I stopped buying anything from their deli cases because we often got sick from them. Maybe they aren't being kept cool enough. Their stock is inconsistent week to week. Two years ago this store was decent. But it has gradually gotten worse, especially over the last 6 months. If you just need to grab a couple things it's okay to stop in here but I wouldn't waste my time doing my weekly shopping here unless they improve things. UPDATE: Things are much better in the produce section of this store. I am very pleased with the improvements they have made. Just one suggestion is to keep the self checkouts a little cleaner. Employee's have been very friendly and helpful. Thank You!

I only shop here once a year when we vacation at Smugglers Notch. The store is clean , friendly sales people for the most part, and good selection. Not having familiarity with the store causes me to backtrack, but I can fill my list for the week. Shop the store brands and sales, they are good value and quality.

The staff all I encountered tonight at dinner time all the employees but one not friendly or ignored me . The deli woman was very good at her job. She was welcoming, clearly a person and she took pride in her work . Hang on to her . As for everyone else, they might need more training. It just doesn't make for a pleasant shopping experience.

The Essex Center Price Chopper has very best pharmacy in the area. I've been doing business with them since the late 1980s and am of the opinion "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". My heart was nearly broken when Matt left as head pharmacist after being with them for 20+ years. But, it didn't take long for the remaining staff and their new pharmacist, Allie, to 'pick up the slack' and rebuild my confidence in them!The produce and meat departments are also superb compared to any in the area. I love the place because of the excellent people/staff they employ.Heck, the general manager, Matt Brady (now retired) even had the toilet paper dispensory in the men's room relocated at my request when my arms were both in braces for several months. Now I ask: "How's that for serving your patrons' needs?"!

The good: Great produce, seafood and flowers, with competitive prices. Staff willing to custom trim meat, steam or fry seafood, and assist with loading groceries into customer's cars (a true kindness for the elderly or disabled), all free of charge.The bad: It's a mini-super-market, so it's cramped and the selection is often poor. All staff are friendly, but some are more professional than others.

My husband and I went early to shop. All the shoppers were appropriately masked. People stocking the shelves, with the exception of one, were not properly masked. We were going to mention it at the desk as we left but the woman at the desk had her mask down under her nose. We will not be returning.

Tony T at the deli is fantastic, we rolled in after the deli had closed for the day not realizing that they close at 8pm! It’s now 8:45om and this amazing man is cutting meat and cheese for us, when I am sure he would love to close up and go home!! He made a very hungry paving crews entire week by staying late and going above and beyond! Kudos to him ❤️

The pharmacy staff are amazingly helpful and engaged. Solid advice and helpful feedback that you can trust. The store itself is a standard, acceptable grocery store that appears to be well run. Definitely sign up for the Price Chopper card!

Despite the fact that I went to the checkout line marked for people with disabilities no one, not even the cashier helped me bag $320 worth of groceries. I asked the cashier if she was unable to touch my personal bags due to Covid. She replied that she in fact was able to touch my bags, and continued to watch me bag. She was rude and seemed bothered that I chose her line ( the one marked for people with disabilities)with my massive haul of groceries. Maybe I didn’t appear disabled enough for her to bother helping me. My suggestion would be to put people who are willing to help people with disabilities in your line for meant disabled people.

I'm sad that the Essex, VT Price Chopper is not what it used to be. While I really like the new gentleman in the deli, the bakery and seafood/meat departments need attention. And why is the staff so gloomy? :( I know everyone is doing their best during the pandemic and with a shortage of help, I just hope our Price Chopper gets some help/attention soon.

Nice store with great modern updates over the years. I appreciate the generous hours of operation. Often has decent prices on meats. I wish they still had the second entrance on the side of the store though.

Pete the night manager was so kind. Came in with bottles late night and he was very helpful Even though the day staff left him high and dry with training and the bottle machine full. Store is huge.. Good variety good prices.

Full range of departments; hot food, deli, seafood and meat, bakery, floral and a pharmacy.Customer service can be hit or miss, unfortunately. I always use the self checkout as it is way faster.Bottle redemption machines are available at the entrance.This location has a tendency to be out of some sale items even before the pandemic.So, rain checks are your friend and can be used at any location.Older gentleman working in seafood has been in the department for 30+ years. Super guy. Has helped me many times. Feel bad I can't recall his name.

I come to this Price Chopper every Sunday. I could easily go to the Shelburne Rd location, but this one is closer to home. I will return to using the Sheburne Rd location from here on out. The store is nice but the staff could really use a class in customer service. The cashiers are not friendly at all and at times rude. It's sad when you can't even great someone with a nice hello or a smile.

If you go there before 9 am there is rarely anyone at the check out with the self check out closed. I spent 10 minutes trying to find an employee so I could purchase what I got5/25 at 9:00 went to self check out. Paid with a card and of course per usual I had to wait for someone to come over since the black haired female employee by customer service was completely ignoring me asking hey ma'am, miss, excuse me. You guys are awful at customer service. This happens every single time and yall lie by saying you will fix it.
