A pleasantly surprisingly array of all sorts of groceries. Unique. Clean. Friendly. Easy access for handicap.

It was good except the deli was closed at 3:30 so I couldn't get an Italian sub and a Greek salad that my BFF was looking forward to

Rude staff. Seems they'd prefer to not have to do Cashier stuff and they just want all the people to go away.Cashier doesn't want to cash out paying customers.Store loses money because of rude cashier.

Very nice and clean market. We have noticed a few staple items such as eggs, milk and butter are double the price compared to other grocers in the area. We unfortunately cannot afford their prices with inflation already driving up the cost of food.

Everyone is so friendly and prices are reasonable if you know what to look for. Hot lunches served 5 days a week and very great tasting.

I love your store Mack market and fairgrounds beverages one stope to get my groceries and if car break down I can walk home with my groceries. And the lady are pleasant to deal with and all have to give my date or birth love to all Mack employees

Friendly staff, nice layout, old fashion grocery store. Good prices on sale items and fair prices on non-sale items. They are more expensive than the big chain stores but that's to be expected from a small town grocery. It's a convenient location and I enjoy shopping there.

I shop there every day I love everyone that works there they are always looking out for me and are concerned about me. I have sezuire and they watch out for me and always ask how I am. They wonderful kind hearted people. U couldn't ask for a better store it's like a family. I love the meat that they have it is fresh cut it's not nasty Processed meat, it's cheaper and I always tell people if they want to buy good meat that's where they need to go. Meat at any other store is Disgusting and not worth spending your money on. Ever since I moved to Essex and found Mac's market I will not buy meat anywhere else ever again. My mother lives in hide park and she has brought a cooler with her to my house before in the past just to buy meat from Mac's because of me showing her the price and Quality of the meat. I love the store and I love the people there. Thank to all of u that work there u are wonderful.

What a weird inconvenient experience today, I went and got 90 dollars worth of groceries and was told my card was denied which I knew was wrong so they put all my groceries back I was late for other things over it and when I checked my bank account it showed that they did take the money for it; I even signed the little card reader.. so I went back and said hey I need my money back or the groceries and the manager said "no" and that I have to fill out a form to send to corporate and wait for a reply.... It took some talking and eventually we got the groceries we payed for but geesh... Wow...

It's very close and convenient. The sales flyers I receive is the reason I shop here, otherwise I find a more reasonably priced store. The produce us outstanding. I was pleasantly surprised to find affordable great wine choices.

nice set up, local products, prices for meat/chicken really good so i bought some; took chicken out of the fridge the next day and it smelled awful!! threw it away for fear of getting sick. i guess that's why the prices are so good... will not be buying meat from here in the future.

This is a handy neighborhood market that has everything you need. It is small, but that's why I like it: You don't have to spend an hour buying groceries. And if you forget an item, it is easy to turn around and find it, because you don't have to search the entire store. People complain about the prices but I find the prices to be reasonable.

Lovely, small grocery store with fresh and organic products. I liked the prepared chicken salad (with onions, dried cranberries) and tuna salad. Very limited frozen products, as they offer mostly fresh. I would have expected them to have Ezekiel breads in the freezer, but they do not.

I really wish I had better things to say about Mac's Market. The appeal is great because it's the only grocery store in town, 1/4 mile from my house. When I'm out of milk, bread or eggs, it's very convenient to get what I need and not have to go out of my way to a HUGE box type supermarket. I love the fact that Mac's is small because I am easily overwhelmed in a supermarket where the first 10 aisles have nothing to do with food. However, I agree with the others. Most things at Mac's are VERY overpriced. Even with sales, it's hard to justify the cost of shopping there. The deli is nice because I do like Boars Head cold cuts which are hard to find in our area. I will say, the prices are not bad there. But the rest of the store - it's just outrageous. I understand Mac's in Stowe - catered towards tourists with the Vermont souvenirs and nice selection of Vermont products. But for a struggling family in a NON TOURIST town - Why? It would be so nice to be able to shop there on a regular basis, but with limited income for food - it's just not possible. I like the selection but hate spending $40 on one or two bags of groceries.

Upscale small grocery with great meat, deli, baked goods. Large gluten free selection. Wines, beers, fun place to shop.some high quality items you just don't find at a big supermarket.

I thought this would be an extremely expensive local grocer that I would love to shop at, but just wouldn't be able to afford.Fortunately, it's not! It's a lovely and quite unassuming little spot packed with everything you'll need at a reasonable price.

Nice smaller grocery store that has great smaller packages of meat for 1-2 people, good prices for dairy, they have local produce there and its easy getting in and out for a quicker grocery shopping trip.

the prices are comparable to other bigger stores despite what some of these reviews may suggest on most stables like meat and vegetables. It's really just snack food that is more expensive. Great collection of Vermont-y healthy foods like Quinoa (never thought i'd like that stuff) and a good wine selection. Pretty cashiers and community oriented volunteer work when you walk in sometimes

I like Mac's. I live in-between Mac's and Shaw's and often, I go to Mac's because it's easier to get in and out quickly. The people are always very nice there and I think their meats and cold cuts are excellent. I've tried several of their pre-prepared meals and they're delicious. Yes, Mac's is a little more expensive on some things, but for the convenience and friendly people, I'm willing to pay a bit extra to support a local business.

Great location..... but I feel that they use that to their advantage because the prices are ridiculous! No flyers, coupons, deals, rewards card..... nothing. Just expensive stuff that they know some people will buy because they don't want to travel further away. Sorry to say..... we do travel further away for our main shopping. We only go to Mac's if it's one thing and can't get it at Rite Aid or Big Lots, etc.

The produce is frequently local and low priced. The bulk section is small but you won't beat the prices on the bulk nuts and dried fruits. The store seasoned meats are great.

I WILL NO LONGER SHOP AT MAC’S MARKET!I supplemented my regular shopping trips, for many years, by shopping at Mac’s Market. I spent thousands of dollars there, even though their prices were more than other grocery stores, because it was located close to my gym and was a convenient stop afterwards. I refer to shopping at Mac’s in past tense as I will no longer shop there after a negative experience yesterday.I was insulted yesterday, when a manager named Linda gave me a hard time when I asked for a refund of money when I was clearly overcharged on some shepard’s pie. I was charged $19.90 for a 2/3 or less full small styrofoam container that holds a regular human sized serving of hot food. She asked me how she could know whether I went in my car and ate some of the shepard’s pie and was now asking for money back. I told her I had not eaten any of the food and I wouldn't ask for money back if I had. I also asked her how she presumed I would have had time to eat the food in the few minutes I spent wheeling out my cart of groceries, unloading the groceries, reviewing my questionably high priced receipt, walking back in the store, asking for a manager and waiting for her for a few minutes. She said she didn’t know how long I was out at my car and that I could have eaten part of the food. I told her to check the time stamp on my receipt, which showed only 5 minutes had passed up to now, a few of which were spent waiting for her at the service desk. She then told me she would need to check the security cameras to see if I was lying. She said I should have checked my receipt before leaving the store, not in my car so there would be proof that I didn’t sneak and eat the food. I felt insulted and angry at this sort of treatment. She went out back to check the security cameras and to call someone and then came out and weighed the food on 3 separate registers, which all showed I should have only paid $7.99. She said this was proof I ate some of the food and not that they miscalculated the price. Are you serious??? This is gross incompetence on her part, especially because that container could not have held more than $11 or $12 of shepard’s pie if you liquified it. I demanded the money that the store owed me so Linda then called what she said was corporate to ask if they could refund my money. Finally, results came after waiting at least 20 minutes total while my food became cold and while several other customers heard Linda accuse me of being a liar. I would suggest Mac’s have a stern talk with Linda and tell her not to treat people like dishonest trash.I will no longer shop at Mac’s Market.

Mac's Market is awsome! If you live right in the Junction and you don't feel like going up the hill to Hannafords or Price Chopper, Mac's Market is in a convenient location. Their prices are fair considering that the smaller the store the higher the price. That's the case anywhere. They have a fairly good sized selection of groceries and other goods throughout the store and I love how they try their hardest to stick with local Vermont produce. The store hours are great being such a small market. 7am to 9pm every day. Can't say enough about them!

Love to stop here on my lunch break, it is close to work, and they have a great selection of food. Better than the fast food places around.

It's easy to get in and out of if you're in a hurry or need a sweatshirt that says VERMONT. The deli, bakery, and dairy clerks are awesome but the cashiers are a little cranky at times.

I'm disabled and new to the area so I had to make sure they had a motorized scooter for me to use. Fortunately when I got there the only one they had was available... And charged. The downside was the door was so narrow I could barely enter with their buggy with my Walker in the basket. I apologize for ranting about their disability access. But they're single cart is larger then the Shaw's carts I have used locally. For a tiny market, they need a smaller motorized cart with a much smaller basket. If they hope for new or returned business from myself.

Consistently terrible produce. Even if it looks fine in the store you get it home and it's bad. Also the most you can pay for food anywhere that except a ski resort.Just drive up the road to hannaford's. Seriously.
