The lady at register 1 at 10 am on 11/22/23 handed half my groceries to the lady in front of me, and I didn't notice until she got away with some stuff. She ruined Thanksgiving because I'm disabled and she didn't pull her head out of her ***. This store often sells expired meat, and the produce sucks. Burlington really needs some better options.

Overall pleasant experience visiting this location which is pretty consistent with my other experiences at other shows locations across from mine. Friendly staff and clean store and Apple stock how to make this a stress-free and one stop shop for supermarkets.

Spacious store. Friendly staff. Many specialty departments. Pre-made sandwiches are cheaper than other stores.Doesn’t have an extensive craft beer selection.Vast array of wines.Clean restrooms. I’m going to start going here because the men’s room at Price Chopper smells.

There is a wonderful petite blonde who is from Florida who works up front. She is a delight to talk to and she is very helpful. Someone should give her a raise

Prices are outrageous, staff are rude, non helpful, and only available, when you DO NOT need assistance. Every time I walk into Shaws, I immediately walk out, and go to Market 32. So far, the staff are great, people are kind, prices are decent, and it's a good time. Unfortunately, Shaws where I live, is not it.

It seems based on some of the reviews I've read that I also had recently. I went into this Shaws to return an item I purchased that day that was not what I wanted. At the customer service counter, there was a sign that said that it was closed between 2-4pm. It was just before 4, so I waited until 4:15 until someone finally came by and asked if I needed help. I asked why no one was behind the counter and she said because they didn't have enough people working to staff it. I said then change the sign. She got rude and sarcastic with me, so I asked her for her name. She covered up her badge and refused to tell me who she was and called a manager. He said there was a sign there stating to come to one of the cashiers for help. I said there was no sign. Then he got mad and challenged me to go with him to look. We did. No sign. It was on the floor under the counter. Rather then admit he was wrong and even more wrong to assume the customer was wrong, he got even more defensive and tried to justify his mistake by attempting to put the blame on me. I pushed back on him and his response was to kick me out of the store as a number of other customers looked on in horror. This manager and the other employee failed badly. I've worked in retail including grocery stores before and you never, ever behave this way. Especially when the employee is wrong. These two people made a terrible impression on me and on those watching. I can assure you they will lose business from this incident.

Good store. Fair prices. Nice selection. Unfortunately, they removed all their scales in the produce department. Not cool.

I do most of my shopping at Shaw's and TJ's here in Burlington. Get an account online and use the coupons they give you!Pros:Usually well pricedGenerally cheaper than M32 across the streetGood and consistent produceCurbside is great and easy. And FREE! (unlike M32 and Hannaford)Nice staffCan get busy but usually calmLots of digital coupons that are easy to useCons:Wish they would reorder and restock kosher items they used to sell such as kosher fish sticks and kosher duck sauceUpdated review:Still loving Shaw's. The app is really helpful (can scan things in-store and get tons of rewards). As of today 10/31/2023 there are a looot of items on clearance as they are rearranging the store. Makeup, summer items, canned goods etc.

I used to go elsewhere to do my shopping, but I recently within a few months, decided to do my shopping at Shaws. I like their prices, found better prices. Today I had to do “full cart shopping, it was 10am and so they had only one lane open, plus all the self checkouts were open. I don’t know about anybody else, but I can’t unload that many groceries in the self check out. It’s too much, so I chose the cashiers lane. As soon as I put my car in the cashiers lane, all I heard, was a huge sigh and mumbling. I looked at him and said I’m sorry to ruin your day dude. It’s not easy for me to drop over 400 dollars on groceries either! He wasn’t friendly, he said nothing at all to me, also he stood there when everything was done, then helped me bag on the last bag of groceries! This happens every time I go there. I get a young person that hates working and isn’t friendly. I’ve literally had it with those cashiers. The older people are good, the younger are terrible! It’s already stressful enough having to spend so much money, so thanks for the added bad feelings.

The only negative thing I have to say about this market is that their recycle center next to the store itself was closed. Was told by a staff member that someone was to suppose to come and empty out the machines early in the morning. This problem has been resolved.I love to do our grocery shopping here. I can literally find the everything on my list and then some.

Strange experience - came with my wife for groceries and also added 2 bottles of wine. Whilst paying at checkout I (aged 46) was asked for ID which is fine - but then abruptly also asked for my wife’s ID who wasn’t paying. She didn’t have her wallet so the cashier refused to sell us the wine. So we both called by the State liquor store and no ID was asked for. Seems a very strange policy and perhaps an over zealous cashier.

Was able to find what I wanted without delay. Self checkout made quick work of my trip to the store. However, I don't appreciate being accosted by people asking for donations on my way out. That is the reason for for stars. There have been recently changes to the produce department, but manageable.

Hauntingly devoid of employees. This ghost town sells you a soda stream and then only has the wrong cartridge refills. And a customer service department that closes at 1pm. Only go here if you don't need help shopping for anything and are ready to use self checkout.

Received knowledgeable help from store employee when I found error in my bill. Received adjustment promptly. ALWAYS check your bill, especially if you are on rewards program and do the just4u system. Check-out register does NOT always function well.

Not fancy but far less crowded AND better stocked than the more frequented competition down Shelburne Road...this is EVERY time I go which makes me switch loyalty and shop hear even though competitor is closer to my home!

I Love Shaws so many good deals.I go to 3 different stores. On 12/17/22 went to Shaws on Shelburne Rd So.Burlington VT. 8:30 PM Done my shopping was waiting in car for friend to finish hers. Shaws had both entrance doors locked had to use exit to get in .5 different cars pulled up went to doors thought store closed and left. There was a small letter sign saying to use exit door but sometimes not noticed.. Should just put a bigger sign on doors. There is a lot going on lately and have to protect are property..

There were zero cashiers this afternoon. A sign on the door would have been nice. We wouldn’t have wasted our time, and the time of whoever had to put our items away. What a bunch of junk.

Not one of my top of the list stores. The customer service area is seldom open. Trying to find somebody to help you sometimes is very difficult. And I think their pricing is high on a lot of items. I always shop here for the sale items. And they are constantly having problems with their lottery machine.

This store would get a 4 star rating possibly, if it weren’t for the deli service. During the morning it is usually better, as long as you get the right employee helping you (Mike and this other woman with pretty long dark hair, they’re both great). However there is one employee who is so slow it’s painful. I’ve witnessed dozens of customers walk away in the past 18 months because of this one particular employee. This employee is very nice, but so slow that one may think they’re in a hidden camera show at first. I’m talking SLOTH SLOW. No pep in her step, no sense of urgency at all when there are multiple customers lining up.Yesterday I went in for one pound of deli meat and was so disappointed when I saw this employee at the deli counter, but one other customer was already being waited on so I was next in line, I thought it couldn’t possibly take too long. It took this employee over 10 minutes to scoop some salad into a container and slice ONE item. (The customers that walked away gave me that look of commiseration, like they’re sorry I now have to go through the same ordeal after waiting so long)Then comes my turn- I politely greeted her and ordered my pound of meat (I prefer half pound but knowing how long it takes I don’t want to go back next week and waste another half hour of my life). A few minutes later she approached me (I thought she was going to hand me my order) and holds up one single slice to make sure it’s the thickness I want. Now I do appreciate knowing I’ll get home and have thinly sliced meat, which is how my household likes it, but now I know I’m going to be waiting another few minutes at the least. After a painfully slow show of slicing the product she then proceeds to very slowly wrap up the remaining hunk of meat, create a label for that meat, put it away and then make a label for my pound and finally walk over and hand me my order.I’m the meantime 3 other customers have approached and then walked away empty handed after waiting over 5 minutes each before realizing they don’t have time for this nonsense.*in the meantime There is one other deli employee walking through. Checking on the rotisserie chickens, seeing a line, ignoring us, walking back through 10 minutes later with raw chickens to put in the rotisserie, still no acknowledgement of the line. Mike would have stopped what he was doing and helped clear the line (and waited on 3-4 customers while this woman finished with 1). Shaws needs more employees like Mike.Mike should get a bonus for going above and beyond on multiple occasions! Other employees should model Mike’s behavior! At this point if I have this lady handling my order I only order salami because it has a long shelf life in the fridge, I can order a pound and not have to return to the deli for a few weeks. I would love to order ham, turkey and cheese as well, but who has that kind of time?? Not people with busy schedules, that’s for sure!I started shopping here a few years back because Hannaford in Essex had a few awful deli employees who would slice really thick meat out of laziness when I would ask for “paper thin”, they’d show me a thin slice then go ahead and cut 12 slices per pound. So they lost a customer, Shaws gained one.Shaws Is more expensive than Hannaford on almost every product I purchase and it costs me about an extra $20 per week, but I take advantage of the coupon app and rewards points and it ends up close enough. Most of the cashiers are amazing (except one older female with shorter hair who ALWAYS HAS A SHORT ATTITUDE, even when at the customer service desk… ) and even during the pandemic with staffing shortages, they did their best. But the slow older lady in the deli is completely killing the shopping experience for me, and apparently plenty of other people too. I wonder how much money Shaws loses per week due to this? They will likely lose this customer as well if this keeps up. I’m busy and this ruins my already hectic schedule!!

Well kept grocery store and well stocked. Found everything I needed and more! Great deli meat selections as well as cheeses. The checkout experience was sub-par though. The baggers at the check lanes always avoid bagging groceries for generally big orders. This Shaw's is a very affordable decent grocery chain.

I may not be a regular shopper here but every time I do go I am impressed. They have a variety of products for groceries and I always find something new. Plus, the reason why I do go there is because of the seafood selection. I find it fresh compared to my other daily groceries stores trips. I work mostly nights so I am limited by distance and mostly time. Highly recommend going. Bonus is that there is a Starbucks around the corner.

Not the best store in the neighborhood. I was shopping here for some of my groceries consistently, but recently had some troubles with the price being different when it was rung up than what it was marked as on the shelf. Some of the sales prices were left up a week after the sales ended. Tired of having to double check the sales dates and returning items. Went to a new store nearby.

They have a great rewards system to help you save on groceries and / or gasoline. I shop here 2-3 times per week for staples. My only complaint is that they don't have much of a gluten free section; frozen or otherwise. I've found that the best g.f. local shopping is Hannaford.
