I am an Emergency nurse who lives in West Brattleboro. I live extremely close to the this dollar store location, up a steep hill across the street. I was caught in a winter storm on the evening of 3/23. I could not make it up my road. I parked my car at the dollar store and went in to buy winter clothes because I knew I had to walk home. I asked the employees if it was okay if I left my car in the parking lot overnight. Both employees I spoke with were beyond compassionate and helpful. They helped me select clothes to wear and offered help in whatever way they could. They stated it would be fine for me to leave my car.When I returned to get my vehicle I noticed there was a sign on it that read “Customer parking only”. I assumed that the message was not relayed to the oncoming shift that I had left my car related to the storm. I put the notice in my car and was about to get in when an angry man approached me. He stated “Did the police call you? Why did you leave your car here?” I thought this was a reasonable question and I told him the events that had transpired. He then stated “That’s not true. None of my employees would tell you that’s okay. Didn’t you read the No Parking signs?” At the time I left my car it was dark out so I didn’t catch the signs. He then said “Your lucky you got here in time, the tow truck is on there way. Don’t ever come back.”He mentioned he had to pay extra to plow around my car. When I heard that I said “I am so sorry to hear that sir, I would be happy to reimburse you for that expense.” He ignored me and said “Don’t ever come back”I understood the owner’s frustration because he had not received the communication. However, when I told him what had happened he told me I was a liar and banned me from the store.My husband is a business owner and I know he would not treat his patrons is such a demeaning way. We are in the dollar store frequently. We are good customers and it was hurtful to be treated in such a rude way. I would have been happy to pay for the plow expense to just be treated with the compassion and respect that his employees had previously treated me with.I hope he gets the therapy he so clearly needs. As for his employees who work the night shift, thank you. You are good humans. I am sorry that you work for such an angry person with no emotional regulation skills. I wish you healing sir!

What a miserable and unfriendly manager. Online their hours say they close at 10 pm. I walked in the store at 9.05 and I was yelled at that they're closed. The guy at the register said let me ask my manager. I told her all I need is two preinflated balloons. That would have taken 1 minute literally. She yelled and argued for 3 minutes. Absolutely refused to help in spite of my efforts to ask that it was for a good cause. Very disappointing. 1st they need to keep their hours updated.2ndly what happened to being kind and human?

Never had issues with this place. It's right down the road from me, and they literally sell everything. Good selection of food, clothes, toiletries, pet food, clothes, yard and home decor, etc. Not everything is high end quality, but do you expect? It's Dollar General, not Macy's. Service has always been good in my experiences and when I need any easy food, cat food, and toothpaste, among other things, it's a great store.

They wouldn't take my FedEx shipment, the manager simply looked at it and said 'Nope' and turned me away. Yes, it was very long, but I confirmed beforehand with FedEx that this was okay to drop here, and was told again when I drove out of town to a gated FedEx distribution center afterwards that the store should've taken the item.

Nice people on staff and inexpensive items. However the company staffs at a bare minimum so that the person who should be behind the counter might be temporarily busy stocking the shelves. Lots of useful items. Great if you are filling up your medicine cabinet. Love this store.

I love Dollar Gen.. But the poor employees in the Brattleboro, VT location my heart just went out to! I would have shopped more..but it was colder in the store than outside.. To the Owner of this store..I sure hope your team has a extra special gift in their stocking this year! With the dedication of them staying and working in that cold..THAT IS DEDICATION!!! Maybe extra bonus! And a NEW HEAT SYSTEM! I have been Management in Corporate stores and know that this kind of loyalty should be rewarded, now a days most employees would just walk off and leave the door unlocked.

Stopped to use the bathrooms but one was being cleaned and the other someone broke the key to get into it... why do they need keys to use the bathroom? Anyways... super sketchy place and neighborhood. Definitely a place I would imagine being robbed in the parking lot. Not a place I would go again and I don't hate a good dollar general but this isn't a good one.

This Dollar General always seems to be low on staff. While the store is great for a number of things,there are usually stock racks in the Isles or shopping carts. The lack of space where the clothing is located makes it almost impossible to get to them. It's too bad as I think they would sell more. Other shoppers in the store when I've been there have vocalized what I have shared. I do encourage us to keep the store alive.

The store is a convenience only. Frequently out of stock, merchandise everywhere, customer service doesn't exist - I can barely get a cashier to come to register and to top it off one cashier never hasany change in her drawer!! Store is on my way home so I stop if I have no other options.

The staff is helpful and kind. The store is clean, and shelves are organized .They usually have almost everything you can think of and they're conveniently located on the way to Mt Snow /dover & Wilmington . Not far from exit 2 on Rt. 91.On the way up to our home on mt snow we always stop there to get all the ' last minute stuff ' .They have a dairy section with milk butter icecream. They also sell beer and wine.Stop by and check them out

I always find something. I looked in a drug store for a birthday card for a two year old. They did not have an appropriate card and the prizes were over $5.. I found all kinds of cards at Dollar General!!#

I've been shopping here for a few years.The employees have always been friendly and helpful for me.The store is most often clean when I visit and some of their wares are pretty decent for the cost.

The poor cashier's are clearly at the mercy of terrible management at a company that's so concerned with saving money it forgot that customers are unsettled when they're being served by ppl who are obviously exploited.The store was a mess, they had half the store un-stocked, and I needed 15 extra minutes to hunt down an employee to cash me out when I realized nobody was coming.

We shop at the Dollar General pretty frequently..The store is always well stocked and for the most part Clean..( the isles and the product put away,etc..) Amy and her staff is always friendly,on-.point and helpful..I feel that the store is at it's best right now..Amy is doing an excellent job along w her employees..which are NEVER just standing around doing nothing..I do appreciate a store,on the way home too,full and friendly..THANKYOU

Dollar general we're most anything is generally not a dollar lol, but I will say I have no complaint's about this store. Suggestion change name to something different, to fit the store more so, so people don't get the wrong idea. Thanks highly recommend this store

It could use more space or renovation since there was clutter. Perhaps it's just the aftermath due to holiday seasons. It seems to be better stocked than the other "$1 stores" I've been to. Alcoholic beverages can be bought here, oddly.

Amazing workers. But honestly the place is messy. Stuffs sticking out in the aisles.. every single aisle, constantly knocking stuff over with my cart. Lol

Prices for not really that cheap you can find stuff cheaper at Dollar Tree or Family Dollar for that matter though they do have some good prices for DG products but again you can find prices a little cheaper elsewhere store wasn't very clean or organized and fact I spent well over an hour organizing things so that I could purchase items by that time those items no longer wanted only good part is everything is well Mart for price as opposed to Family Dollar a lot of times the pricing isn't well Mart but then again there place is clean and organized unlike Dollar General I'm only talking about the one I went to cuz I've never been to another one this is been my third time there and still not impressed

Very unclean as always and i always have to wait awhile at the counter. They leave a bell out ( i hate having to ring bells) ecen when i do it takes forever for soneone to show up. I dont think its the staffs fault i think they need more people on each shift.

Well the manager is charging $0.10 for a bag .idk how managing is charging $.010 not the company makes no senseit's ridiculous the store is a mess most of the time .I would be happy to pay $0.05 for a bag not $0.10 The casher was very nice she's a older woman works hard never does she complain she's all for the customer .idk if I can share her name but she's very good:)🇱🇷have safe hoilday weekend 🇱🇷

I think Dollar General is a good place to shop. They have low prices and it's worth it if u need to go shopping for food and items for the family specially if you don't really have a lot of money as is!

Other than that they have a tendency to close ten minutes early every day they're pretty decent as far as dollar general's go. There's also usually only one person working at a time so it can take a while to get service.

This is my favorite Dollar General in my area. Great variety of everything. The store is always clean and the staff is really friendly!
