We are so pleased to have found Great Fields! They have taken great care of our golden retriever. He comes home tired (from play/park time) but obviously happy and goes right back into his routine. The facility is clean and welcoming for humans and pets. I feel really good about leaving my best buddy there when we can't take him with us.

We have taken our Pomeranian once for an extended stay and have another extended stay scheduled. We had a great experience the first time and expect the same! The staff is friendly. Owner is courteous and respectful! It’s definitely worth the hour drive for us to bring him here! Highly recommend!

I was very apprehensive boarding my two Rhodesian’s until I had the good fortune of finding Great Fields. When I arrived I spent time with the owner, Megan, who was gracious, professional and obviously cared a great deal about animals. The facility is very clean, offers many options for care and feeding and the staff could not have been friendlier. Highly recommend using Great Fields.

updated 8/2/23--my dog fox has boarded here occasionally for many years and i've always been pleased with his care. he's a high-anxiety breed who needs lots of exercise, and i really appreciate their dog park service and ease with which they seem to be able to medicate him for storms etc. i just boarded him for the longest i've ever left him in his life and i didn't worry too much because he seems to be in good hands.edited to change to 5 stars-- original review/issue happened 9 months ago and we haven't had any problems since. we love the attention our dog gets when he boards here.our border collie fox boards here and we are happy with his care. this would be a 5 star rating except for my experience picking him up the last time he boarded--they were having a problem with their computer system and not only could not provide me with a receipt or itemized list of services, but both of my debit cards were then declined despite me having the funds in my accounts to pay for my dog's boarding. i was informed that this had to be an issue with my bank and not their machine even though they were clearly having computer problems and that i had to return with cash. every other experience here has been great and easy, so this was surprising! i expected better customer service.

Our Teddie has been boarded at Great Fields many times!! He has never boarded anywhere else! We have not had one bad experience!!! He has been well cared for each time!! No complaints from us !! This is the only place he will go when we are away!! We trust the owners and their staff with the care of our pets! A+++

We usually board our vizslas with a friend, however, recently we needed to find a different option and he recommended GF. From the time we called and spoke to them to the time they graciously showed us around and to the time that we dropped our fur babies off - we knew they were in great hands. Thank you Megan, you are a professional and truly love dogs! We would recommend GF to anyone. Cooper and Toby thank you too -- woof woof!!

They were very accommodating of my very large, very neurotic great dane. We were concerned as he had never been boarded before but he and our beagle had a nice vacation ! Will definitely use them again.

We got our Border Collie/Schipperke dog groomed and we’re so pleased with the new look! Our dog has long hair and gets quite uncomfortable in the hot summer weather. The staff at GF Kennel we’re very helpful explaining not to shave this type dog. Sophie got a shampoo with her tail and belly hair trimmed along with her nails clipped. All for a great price! We have been very pleased with this kennel both for boarding and grooming. They are very knowledgeable and work well with the pets. I highly recommend them!

Great Fields for the WINNNN!!! Tia & her staff are so sweet, attentive & made me feel so comfortable leaving my doggies with them for the week. We have 2 dogs with medication schedules & Tia checked us in as well as shared with us the whole process of how they administer the medications. I loved the updates on the Facebook page, and seeing our girls having fun! I highly recommend GFK to anyone that needs care for their pets! Last note was that our dogs came home like they hadn't even missed a beat, in previous places we had to spend a few days getting our dogs back to normal after kennel stays, but not the case at all with GFK! We will definitely be back! Thank you!

Delighted with GREAT FIELDS KENNEL. First time using to board our dog and she loved it ! Our girl came back all clean , shiny and happy…. Zero issues !Staff and owner professional . Impressive impromptu tour at GREAT FIELDS hands down helped to make decision to board our dog . GFK the took time with all our questions and even called us , giving update while we were on our trip.We are planning a vacation and will be using GREAT FIELDS KENNEL.

I was not informed before dropping my dog off that he would not have any interactions with other dogs. I was not told before hand when I called about the facility that you had to pay to let your dog run outside. When I called to make my payment over the phone I got told “I’m working with another dog you can call back later”. It was rather rude instead of simply asking me to call back instead of telling me I had to. They did end up calling me but were rude about the way they said it over the phone. When I was quoted a price that’s not what ended up getting charged to my card. Then when I did get my dog he had a few scrap marks on his face which he did not have when I dropped him off. Would not recommend.

While planning our trip to Vermont to attend a family wedding we researched the possibility of bringing our youngest dog along for the adventure. I was so excited to see how many pet friendly accomodations there were in the area. The night of the wedding we knew we would have to board our dog because he does not do crating. I found Great Fields Kennel & I was so excited to have this be our first boarding experience since it sounded too good to be true. I thought I had found a resort for dogs. We booked the nights stay for our dog and was told over the phone that when we arrived we could add 2 trips to the dog park & a 1/2 hour walk for our 1.5 year old, energetic Husky-German Shepard mix. When we arrived at 1pm the owner rushed us through a quick "orientation" & was too busy to answer any questions we had. She then informed us that we were mistaken about the walks & dog park visits. Since we arrived in the afternoon we could only have one visit to the dog park which we did with our dog privately before leaving him. She then told me that the only walks available would be if he didn't relieve himself in the crate. I asked if I could call to check on him & she said yes & threw a packet of info at me. We left feeling so anxious about our pup & considered going back to get him. When we called at 8pm noone answered or ever called me back. For our 9am pick up the owner seemed less busy, but could not explain any of the miscommunication we had experienced. Even her packet of info stated dog park visits & walks were available. I would never recommend this kennel. She has bitten off more than she can chew & it is very obvious. I hope we can stick to dogsitters in the future as this experience has left me never wanting to board my pets again.

They are welcoming and quick to gain your pups attention. My dog is newly adopted and needs continued work, we went over the things I want them to do while he was there and they were wonderful. I hope to find a place like great fields in the next place I live

Cocoa (12 y/o chocolate lab) had such a good time. Was excited to go initially and was so happy when we came to get her. Also was super happy to keep playing with the kennel staff, even in our presence. Will definitely use them again. Actually, 2 generations of family dogs have gone to GFK, so it is really a no brainer. Thanks again!

The only reason why I'm going to post this is bc I feel that all animal parents should know... our puppy stayed less than 24 hours at Great Fields Kennel in North Bennington at the end of August and through another social media post a week later I see they're closed because of kennel cough? Strange, since you think they would've called us to inform us! NOPE! I had to call to inquire!? And he was 1 of 75 dogs they informed me that had been there from Aug 16-26, (again he was there less than 24 hours!)... if you're an animal parent you may or may not know how painful and uncomfortable kennel cough can be for a puppy... Jethro spent 10 days on antibiotics and wasn't allowed back at the kennel until this past weekend. HE has ALL the required shots and vaccines... we were required to show proof from our vet, 2 weeks before his 1st visit....so who didn't that you allowed in!?!? They offered us nothing... not that we were looking for anything... but we trusted you with our puppy.... we weren't able to kennel him anywhere else while I was in a wedding last weekend and we had vacation planned in Maine this past weekend and we're unsure what to do with him. He was able to go back... but never again! When we picked him up and got home, toys and KONGS were missing and his food travel container. You would think you'd have an owners possessions all ready to go upon pickup, no? Another $100 down the drain and when I called about where our puppies things were the owner told me "we are closed, they're probably in the dishwasher, call back tomorrow". Ummm, excuse me... horrible business owner... keep the effing KONGS... obviously you needed them more than our puppy did. #rantover #pissedpuppymom

This response is a lot different than the communication I was getting on social media this morning - as a business owner I would except professionalism however, that was not displayed whatsoever in the communications I received earlier. I trusted a business to care for my dog - as someone would trust a day care with their child. I did not call the facility late, I did not get any phones calls about the toys. Irregardless, you're the ones hungup on the toys - and making me out to be the bad guy in this situation. I am fully educated and aware of how kennel cough is contracted - and had you called me, like you claim to have, had - my dog would've been on antibiotics 2 weeks earlier than when I had to find out on social media there was an outbreak. So no, as a business owner you failed. And are all parents expected to check their childrens bags upon getting home from daycare and school every day ? Well I did and b/c we were still on vacation 40 min away from the facility, I called immediately when I knew his toys, kongs and dog dish were all missing. You took no ownership for the kennel cough and again are weaseling your way out of this one. Its a small town and others saw the unprofessionalism posted earlier on social media. As a business worker/owner? I am applaud and embarrassed that we even considered giving GFK another chance. I didn't make a scene about the kennel cough b/c I was trying to give you the benefit of the doubt, and deal with my sick dog for 2 weeks - and gave you another chance. Again, shame on me and I hope others never have the same experiences as we did. Bc we DO care about our puppy!

Visited to get a feel for the place. Hardly a minute went by where there weren't a half dozen dogs barking... Really felt it would be more traumatic than I wanted to put my elderly dog through.
