Food is incredible. We came for brunch a year ago and knew we had to come back since the NEK is our second home. Everything was honestly incredible and amazing quality, with some items they harvest themselves. You can taste the love and care in everything. Espresso martini and strawberry rhubarb margarita were delightful (and so strong). They provided a chefs tasting, and the hummus was the best I've ever had and the salsa was fresh and bright. We ordered the spring soup and poutine. Both delicious, and we agreed the poutine was the best we've ever had. I ordered short ribs with a ramp gremolata, unreal, while my fiance ordered the steak. He said it was chophouse worthy. Lastly, we took the homemade cheesecake to go and both thought it was incredible when we took a bite at home. This is worth the trip and experience. We also had made a reservation, which I recommend.

We found this place luckily when trying to find some food on our way to Canada. It was almost 8pm when we got in. Staf was so friendly, chief agreed to make us a quick "diner". It was just delicious! Not to speak about the service, the atmosphere (they were celebrating Black month so pictures about the story of the owner family were displayed) and the smiles of the people who took great care of us.We will come back soon to try the full menu!Thank you again for your kindness and the super-yummy dinner!

I will begin with the tray of fresh soft (local) cheese, cornbread and fresh home salsa with chips which none of us expected, homemade lemonade and a black currant martini (or two). Altogether we had the mussels, calamari, dumplings, ribs and chili. We were so stuffed that we had to bring home the home made cheesecake. A gem in the area and all the staff is fantastic. I should say don’t come, because then I will have a better chance at a table here.

Very excellent establishment. Fresh local ingredients, fair price, high quality, and warm hospitality. Soothing jazz music in background, and ‘local resident’ is a must try beer. My only small complain is that the table/house is a bit tilted, so dining in certain spot felt a bit odd. Would definitely come back again to try other dishes.

Needed a reservation to be served dinner. Blueberry cornbread and salsa were a nice starter, along with poutine. Meals of the pork chop, scallops, broule free range chicken and Mac and cheese with chicken paired with local tap beer. It was a terrific dining experience in NE VT.

Crazy-amazing food in a real Vermont casual environment. Not cheap but worth it!!! Such good calamari, which I don’t even usually like. I wasn’t a fan on the house Malbec but other than that I was absolutely thrilled with this hidden gem. Went their for a bday dinner and stayed until close - we didn’t want to leave!Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair entrance through the back

Maria, the owner, was also our server and was nothing short of incredible. Her service was amazing and the food, even better. Everything was so fresh and you could tell how much love was put into everything. The drinks were delicious and even included fresh fruits from Maria’s garden. My friends and i were so impressed and left so stuffed! 10/10 recommend!

This restaurant was amazing! Big city dining in a small town. Locally grown ingredients made the food uniquely outstanding. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we ordered dessert!

Person's is a cute diner that has recently reopened. I love the change in decor. They are currently open for breakfast and lunch but will be expanding to dinner in the coming weeks. They have some breakfast classics and some of their own specials like the farmers breakfast, apple pie and cheese. Our food was good, but not amazing. It is definitely a good spot to spot if you are in the mood for diner food. The wait staff was very friendly and kind and there is plenty of parking around back.

Fantastic dinner at this funky converted house. Great gift appetizer, followed by two amazing salads (squash salad was amazing). Sticky Chicken entree was delicious. Too full for dessert, but they looked great. One would never expect such a great meal with this funky floor plan, but everything exceeded expectations.

We heard this place was a must try and were sad to see them close for a while due to the flooding. We went on re opening night! I was offered a mock tail as I am expecting and thought that was very kind, although it had too much lime juice and our waitress noticed I wasn’t enjoying it and took it off the bill. We got the pork belly Mac and cheese, the pork belly was dry and hard but had good flavor. The macaroni and cheese was amazing. We ordered the shrimp entree which had impressive size shrimp, my boyfriend enjoyed that. My steak was very blue/raw, I ordered rare and they offered to put it back on the grill but it had a sauce so I was not going to send my steak back that had already been dressed and cut into. The steak was an excellent cut and very fresh meat, but I it was just very blue. I will give this place another try, they have an impressive menu and wonderful staff. Our waitress was Sarah (I think) and she was lovely kind and prompt.

Recently reopened breakfast spot in Barton. The VT fav breakfast plate was good and the coffee decent while the French toast could have been softer, richer, and tastier. All in all, a friendly breakfast spot worth visiting if one’s in or around Barton.

An excellent surprise! We were visiting Craftsbury this week with the intent to drink and purchase as much Hill Farmstead as possible. Relative novices to the area, we stumbled upon this restaurant expecting something more old school and antiquated. We were delighted to see an extensive menu of delicious farm to table options. Everything we had from the empanadas to the burgers to the garlic chicken was impeccable! The hospitality was lovely and the ambiance was warm and inviting. We will absolutely be back next time we visit the region!

My wife and I don't typically dine out. More often than not, we end up coming home saying we could have saved a lot of money by making that at home and it probably would have been better. This was not the case.We have both decided that this was the best meal that either of us have eaten since we visited Europe last year and had a delicious seven-course meal served to us in Amsterdam.Overall, the variety of food on the menu was outstanding, and the execution of the meals was superb.I could not recommend this place highly enough. Neither of us can wait to go back. Worth every penny!

Possibly the best experience I have ever had. As a proud Italian from North Jersey, I can honestly say that I would drive 8 hours to come here again. Food and cocktails were all prepared with care and could not have tasted and looked better. Service was equally as inviting as Maria welcomed us to our table like we were family who was invited for a dinner party. Parsons presents a Michelin star dining experience without any pretentious attitudes. Thanks you Parsons!

Showed up at 5 am... the waitress was awesome. The local daily crew showed up and what a great time we had. Met the famous Red speed walker, the Maple syrup guru, even the blooming onion guy. If you are on a road trip this is a must stop! If you are a local you already know this is a friendly great place. Oh BTW the food was great.

What an amazing dining find in NEK! My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Parson's Dinner House on Friday night. We were warmly welcomed by our sever Sarah. Everything from the homemade corn bread to the calamari appetizer was delicious. I had the sticky chicken and my husband had steak. Both were excellent. For dessert we took home a slice of cheesecake made by the owner/pastry chef Maria. If you are staying in the Hardwick or Greensboro area this restaurant is a must visit!!!Parking: We had no trouble parking behind the Parson's Dinner House

In May 2021, Parsons Dinner House opened its doors in Barton, a village nestled in the mountains of Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom. I have summered in Barton for the past twenty years, and to the best of my knowledge, the village has never had a fine dining establishment before Parsons. I’m delighted to see this new gem among the Kingdom’s treasures. The restaurant’s atmosphere/decor is simple and elegant. You will find there is great service from the friendly staff. Pastry Chef Maria Hill and Executive Chef Steve Vazzano are always warm and welcoming and their meals are topnotch.

Simply, this is one of those places worth making a detour for. The ambiance is cozy and the service warm and gracious. The food, though, is the star. Portions are extremely generous and appetizers, entrees and desserts all reveal a level of sophisticated and satisfying cooking I have never experienced in the 25 years I have been coming up to the NE Kingdom for vacation. We came one night during our week in Vermont and liked it so much we changed our plans and came again later in the week.Don't miss it!
