We recently bought a house and moved to Barre from across the county. Nelson's Hardware is our hometown hardware store that carries a huge inventory, even in comparison to national chains. You know what else they have?? The business itself carries a lot of items but often not the items you're looking for. And for the sake of my own sanity.Please train more people to be able to cut keys and cut specialty keys. You are one of the only local places that can cut some specialty keys. But every time I have ever needed a key cuthere's a person that is not there is the only person who knows how to cut it with your machines.

Nelson Ace Hardware is a class act!I’ve been going there a few years to get things for work and am blown away by the friendly attentive customer service , which is the complete opposite of other places I’ve been…I’ve met a lot of awesome dogs there over the years and realized mine hadn’t been there as I’m usually there on the clock so brought her down this morning as I needed a couple keys made and we both left on cloud 9!!!Thank you Bob Nelson and staff for all that you , Happy Holidays!

I was greeted right away. I went to the section I needed something and wasn't there less than 30 seconds and was asked if I needed assistance! I was very impressed with the staffing levels and assistance provided. I was a first time shopper here and was extremely impressed with the level of service. I had been an Aubuchon customer in the past and the service and atmosphere here was far superior. You have earned a new customer!

Great "little" hardware store that spans about 3 buildings on Main Street in Barre, VT. They got it all (minus lumber) and some of the nicest people around. Plus, THIS Ace Hardware offers 10% Veteran discount unlike my Ace in Iowa.

Excellent service.. helped immediately for a piece of flex pipe we needed to fix a water line and they cut the length we needed from a large roll.... think we walked out with everything we needed under $6 bucks!! Whoo hoo and didn't have to buy the whole roll like another supplier!! Everyone was friendly and helpful. Looking for something else today and going there first... sorry Aubuchon and TS...

I could not let any time go by before I left a comment about my visit today. Today has been pretty dicey weatherwise. The parking spaces and steps into the store were very slippery. Two young employees were diligently scraping to clear the area. But what blessed me is that while one scraped the area ahead of me as I walked reward the door, the other lent me their hand to assist. The same was true as I exited. He walked me right up to my car and even opened my door. Talk about going the extra mile. Kudos!! And thank you.

If you want to experience supreme customer service you want to shop at Nelson True Value in Barre . Always extremely helpful and even when extremely busy they see to it that you are attended to. I just wanted to update another meaningful experience with Nelson's. When I asked to hang up a flier for our annual seed swap event this Saturday I was not only offered to hang up one but one on each entrance. It may seem trivial but it was a warm example of a community business supporting community events. The customer service is phenomenal. So helpful and knowledgeable. Even though it's a hardware store, they have just about anything you would find in the box stores. Highly recommend! Ps if you call them, they answer the phone...no machines, no buttons to toss you around.
