It's been 2+ months since I applied for a cat here. I have a loving FOREVER home for a kitty. I've worked at several rescues, been on the board at a rescue and have not been given the courtesy of any communication to know if my application was approved or denied. VERY unprofessional! Fortunately, I found the perfect kitty at the Randolph VET and Pixie and I could not be happier! KKC seemed like such a great place but I was VERY disappointed with my experience. In response to your oh so nice response, my vet and landlord both responded to inquiries and I called, emailed or texted and received NO RESPONSE from you. Again, VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!In my rescue work over the years I've supervised 100s of adoptions. I've never treated a potential adopter the way you treated me.

Playing with the cats and kittens was great but the staff today was very rude to my kids. When I came a few months ago the owner was so nice and informative and the baked goods were yummy; but the new employees aren’t very people friendly! And told us if we came back to Vermont to kitty corner we wouldn’t we allowed to see the cats!!!It’s a cat lounge how are you supposed to know if a cat/ kitten is loveable or friendly to want to adopt if you can’t hold it or cuddle it?! Might as well keep them in cages again if your not going to let people enjoy them!

I stumbled upon this cafe when I was visiting Vermont and looking for a coffee shop. I'm a huge cat lover, so I was excited to find this cat cafe. My chai tea latte was great, and the cats were adorable. There is a small fee ( I think it was $10) to go into the area with the cats for about half an hour. There were a lot of kittens and some older cats as well when we went. A lot of the kittens are transported from Southern states. We are thinking about adopting another cat in the Fall, and we may make the trip to see if we can adopt one of these cats.

I was staying in the area for a few days and still had to work so I paid for the entire day to be surrounded by a swarm of little land sharks. They were all so adorable, and for someone who experienced a lot of loss in the past two years, incredibly therapeutic to feel such love from all you little cats and kittens.😊

Ok so the restaurant is closed, consider this a review of the cat aspect. We showed up on a day when both the cafe and the flower shop were closed, just happened to drive by and stop. There was an employee cleaning up inside who took a break from their work to come outside and chat with us about their business and their kitties. We really loved the chance just to see all the sweet, healthy cats through the window and learn about them. The space looks massive, full of toys and enrichments for the beasts, a great place to stay until they find their forever homes! Hope the business recovers from the flood damage quickly and can’t wait to stop by next time we are in town.

Staff was attentive and kind. Baked goods and drinks were tasty. Lots of cute cats and plenty of toys and enrichment for them. I would suggest an air purifier or air circulation to help the air quality as it's a bit strong and dusty. I found myself feeling stuffed up (and I have many of my own cats so I'm no stranger to litter box dust). Overall the cats seem happier than they would be in shelter cages and what a great way to earn funds for them while providing attention while they wait for new homes.

Genuinely yummy beverages. Lattes, frappes, tea, juice, kombucha.Plenty of selection in baked goods! Even a couple gluten-free and vegan.Fun kitschy cat merch for sale, of both standard American variety and kawaii Pusheenesque sort: stickers, knitted hats, bowties, shirts, cards, art supplies, mugs, tumblers, stuffies, &c.Amazing attention to detail.

I visited the cafe 2 years ago. We came from Chittenden County for my daughters birthday. We enjoyed the space so much that when we were looking for a home, we added Barre as a possible place. We moved here a year ago and have bought flowers from Alexis, and visited the cafe many times. They have all been so kind and welcoming. To see what a small group of people on FB have said about our local small business is so sad. How might we make a generous assumption and ask how we might help instead of bashing a local business who has been through the flood, pandemic and inflation like the rest of us. Alexis has shown me and my family such compassion. I wish the same for her. I’ll keep buying flowers, asking how I might help and supporting her.

Wonderful experience. Kind staff. I went back on 9/21/21 to meet a new kitten. I found out that they have adopted out 376 cats. How awesome is that!

Love the idea of being able to meet the kitties and have coffee and a pastry. Very cozy environment. However the smell of the litter boxes and overall cleanliness of the cat room was off-putting. It seemed like the furniture needed a good washing. I'm afraid people may decide against adopting cats because of the smell. But it was a great experience otherwise and the concept of being able to hang out with adoptable cats is amazing. The staff was nice but the woman with the short black hair could stand to work on her people skills. She seemed annoyed and acted like she doesn't love letting people into hang out with the kitties.Vegetarian options: Mostly pastriesKid-friendliness: Kids can only pet the cat and can't hold or cuddle

Wonderful concept and cute cats, the muffins and drinks were great, but need to clean up cat space better, a bit felt dirty in there and need better ventilation. We’ve been to similar cafe in Europe, but there they made you take your shoes off or add shoe booties and felt super clean even with many cats.

Really good drinks, cats were adorable. It was slightly concerning to see so many cats with crusty runny eyes. They appeared to be friendly but some of them had a hard time opening and closing both eyes. Some of them seemed stressed, and overwhelmed, a lot of them seemed thin maybe this is because they were in different shelters before arriving to the cafe but it’s still concerning that they were up for adoption with visible health concerns. I love the concept of the cafe it is lovely but it seems the cats require more care than they seem to be getting.

This is a cute place, a good way to help support the Cats waiting for a Furever Home. I had a chance to go in and pet the kitties, that was nice! I enjoyed the Broccoli soup, watched the time go by, the town is cute, with art work not far from there, lots of little things to see EVERYWHERE in town, not just in this cafe. I had so much fun, I can't wait to go back, I bought a friend of mine a sticker so they know where I want to take them next! The cats are there all the time, make an appointment to go see whose available and they will help You apply for adoption. If I was in a position to adopt, I would definitely have done so! They are friendly cats that need to be social, mostly so they can stay social with people, I like what they do here!

I put in an application and was approved to adopt a kitten, Dorothy, by Alexis Dexter, the owner so I made an adoption appointment with her and was told I would need to fill out some more paperwork and then I could take her home that day. She said I had to wait a day for the kitten recover from getting spayed. Her spay appointment was July 29th, so she said to come July 1st at 5:30pm, after hours. I have everything set up in my house for this kitten, because I was told I was going to get her. The set meeting time came, had it on my calendar since I spoke to Alexis and I was stood up and was told to call today to reschedule. Come to find out she approved someone else too and didn’t tell me when I called the first time to see if she approved my application, which she said she did. She said I must’ve spoke to someone else when I most definitely didn’t. I’ve been speaking directly to Alexis every phone call. So disappointed and upset. Don’t get your hopes up to adopt a kitten here, they might give them to someone else.

Cafe was closed but we got to spend half an hour petting kitties-- who has time for coffee when there are so many cats to say hello to?

We loved our visit with these friendly kitties and I hope to have a chance to come back the next time we're in Vermont. The staff was very kind as well.

Updated review based on management response: The room was not 69 degrees, not even close. After removing my coat it was very uncomfortable and so cold the interior windows were frosty. I left early. Original review: After visiting several times for a sweet coffee I finally visited the cats. The room was freezing. The cats weren't active and snuggling in the beds. I found all of the kittens were incredibly bony. Not sure if they are not fond of the food but it was concerning. Several had runny eyes and were lethargic. They need to keep the room at a better temperature.

I've been debating whether to share my experience or not, but I think it is necessary. I adopted a 6 month old kitten from here at the end of October, he passed away with in a month of adoption from FPV (which is extremely contagious and almost always fatal in kittens). I did not have a cat previously and did not come into contact with any other cats, so my kitten HAD to have contracted the virus before adoption. The shelter has offered no help and has responded very briefly to only one of my emails. Getting stuck with 3,000$ in vet bills wasn't even my concern and while I would have liked the shelter to have contributed since they gave me a sick kitten, that's not why I am here. I'm writing this because I am so heartbroken and I have found out (from other vets and shelters) that I am not the first person to adopt a young kitten that has passed away within a month of adoption from here. I want to believe that this place is simply in over their heads because they want to save as many cats as they can and are focusing on quantity over quality. I believe supporting and rescuing as many cats in need as possible, all I am asking is for this shelter to do it the right way, with proper infection control and attention to sick cats. My sweet angel did not deserve to die from a disease that is completely preventable by vaccination and proper infection control/isolation methods. Please reconsider adopting from here until they have updated their safety methods.

Good coffee, nice staff, and tasty treats! I would give 5 stars but the cleanliness of the cat lounge has been going downhill…strong ammonia smell, dried vomit, and smearing over all the glass… I love the idea and am so happy that kitties are getting adopted but it’s harder to enjoy that room.

The food was good. I believe the food is from places like the Red Bakery. The coffees are ok. It seems they lack attention or maybe knowledge to the coffee and what they are making. Tried it 4 times now. Maybe I will go back to see if they have gained more knowledge of coffees. If you are looking for a kid friendly environment, average cup of Joe, and a place to sit. It is great for that. Watching the cats was entertaining. Kids seemed to enjoy them. There is a schedule appointment to go into the cat area, and there is a small fee. It's a great idea to get cat that need adoption noticed in a fun way.
