Under new ownership. Arrived at 9:45 am and didn’t get good until 11 am. I’m sure do to short staffed but still … was a long time to drink rather weak coffee.Biscuits and sausage with gravy were ok, as was the eggs. Home fries had the taste and appearance of French fries.Overall my breakfast was decent. Staff was friendly but if I showed up again and saw it was packed I’d go elsewhere as an hour to wait for an average breakfast wasn’t worth it.

Absolutely wonderful diner! Good diner food for a good price. Service was fantastic, very much a family/neighborhood feel. Decor was very cute, very modern farmhouse meets diner. Loved our experience there, next time we're up to visit we will definitely be making another stop or 2!Kid-friendliness: Accessible breakfast items for kids and a kids menu. Owner/manager was very inviting and friendly to our big group with 3 kids.

This place was amazing! I was going up to New Hampshire for vacation when I had to stop and get something to eat. This place had the best steak grinder I have ever had. It’s better than my local pizza restaurant and subway combined! It sucks that this restaurant is 2 1/2 hours away from me. If I lived in the area, I would be coming here frequently. I also liked that there were kids serving food and the owner was the nicest owner of a restaurant that I have ever met.

Traditional American dinner off the highway. There's a couple picnic table. The food is ok. Great customer service and warm welcome. They got classic tasty pies and sell Vermont maple syrup. It's worth the stop!

Delicious! Plenty of spacious seating. The waitress we had Julie was awesome! On weekends there is an option of the menu or the breakfast buffet! Buffet included pancakes, french toast, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, homefries, hash, and had a whole fruit/yogurt bar! In our party of four the adults ordered off the menu and my daughter enjoyed the buffet(buffet prices vary from adult to child). On the menu they offer a build your own omelet option!Pictures include two different omelets one with a side of bacon (4slices in an order). The last picture is of a mostly eaten kids buffet, she really enjoyed the fruit option!Ofcourse being in Vermont there was REAL Syrup for your pancakes and french toast!

I ordered corned beef hash and sausage gravy with biscuits. The corned beef hash was good, the sausage gravy and biscuits were barely edible.I understand this is a southern dish and it's hard to get right with most New England breakfast sausages, so I'm going to give some tips to the chef on how to improve it because I'm aiming for constructive feedback rather than dumping on them.1. The ONLY sausage in New England that is appropriate for making this gravy is MacKensie Country Classics Original Family Recipe in the green cloth bag. Whatever you're currently using is absolutely disgusting (it hurts me to be so blunt, but it is almost inedible, I forced as much of it down as I could, but it's really really bad). Please switch to MacKensie Country Classics Original Family Recipe Sausage.2. MacKensie Country Classics Original Family Recipe is a good BASE, but it lacks a couple of the most important seasonings, so you MUST add rubbed sage and ground white pepper to the sausage while browning it.3. Brown your MacKensie Country Classics Original Family Recipe, adding a liberal amount of sage and white pepper, chopping it into HALF INCH bits as it browns - no smaller: that is another thing you got wrong, the sausage should be CHUNKY in the gravy.4. Take your browned, seasoned sausage out of the skillet, drain 3/4 the grease away, and add 1/4 the amount of butter to the pan, so you're reducing the oil by half, and making that reduced amount half butter to sausage grease.5. Add a bleached all purpose flour to make a roux, and just bring it to a simmer: DO NOT BROWN the roux! Milk gravy should be almost as white as milk itself. Yours is too dark and aesthetically unappealing.6. Add your whole milk or half&half to your roux, stirring constantly. Do not use anything lower fat than whole milk.7. Add a generous amount of SALT and GROUND BLACK PEPPER to your gravy. Yes, it needs both white and black pepper! Pepper is the primary flavor profile in a well made milk gravy.8. Add your chunks of seasoned MacKensie Country Classics Original Family Recipe Sausage back to the pan, bring to a simmer to thicken, stirring often.9. Serve with biscuits. While on the topic of biscuits, those also need work. Yours are flat and too crunchy. Your recipe needs a lot more leavening. Try switching to King Arthur self-rising flour as it takes the guesswork out of it. If you want THE BEST biscuits, look up "Angel Biscuits" recipe. It's a half soda half yeast recipe, and they rise wonderfully. The dough can be made in advance and refriderated in bulk and is great for prepping for restaurant use.My partner loved the home fries, however, and would go back for those. He also got the chicken fried steak and I was appalled it came out with SAUSAGE gravy on it. This is so wrong. It needs MILK GRAVY, without sausage in it. Butter, flour, salt, pepper, milk! It's so easy to make, so stop being lazy and using the sausage gravy on steak! It ruins the flavor profile of the beef! Make a batch of plain milk gravy for the steak. Finally, to the owners in general: we were freezing while eating. It may have been because we were seated in front of an uninsulated single pane window. With that glass, you need to turn the heat up much more. We were almost shivering throughout our meal and I am usually someone who easily gets overheated. It wasn't a good dining experience.

Danielle was an amazing waitress and fast. Eggs Florentine was amazing both times I had it. Husband loved eggs benedict. Belgium waffles were great too and of course the vermont syrup is a must try!

Menu as of March 2023 attached.Food was good but not great, the hot sauce and salsa seemed absent from my wrap which were big reasons why I chose it.Guy was very friendly and funny, joked around with my niece and treated her doll like another customer, it was great!

Great, cute little place to stop, the waitresses were so sweet and took us in even though it was close to the end of their day. It was filling and well made. 10 out of 10 would eat here again. I've never seen a 'Rachel' with a Reuben before so that was a fun thing to see too!Dietary restrictions: There is no pork offered here. So anywhere you see bacon or anything it's turkey bacon. Which was fine by me but my dad was a little surprised lol. So something to know but not something to stop you from going here!

The dish in the picture is what they served me. It's supposed to be Scallop Scampy. It was disgusting. It does not look appetizing at all. I didn't eat it. Scallops in a bowl full of oil. Yuck! It was originally supposed to be Sprimp Scampy but I'm allergic to shrimp and so I asked for scallops instead and what was in the bowl is qhat and how it was served at Exit Ate8 in Windsor. You guys owe me another meal for sure.

We are from Ohio and just passing through. We were so happy with this choice. The food was great. Service was friendly even though she was the only one there and it was packed.

We discovered Exit Ate on a family vacation trip and are very glad we stopped! We really enjoyed this family restaurant. The owners were friendly and kind, and the food was simply delicious - all homemade! - and the facility was very clean. Will most definitely stop again if we have the chance! (The pastrami sandwich was delicious and plentiful, and the fries were handcut ...so YUM!)

Service was excellent & the place was very clean. Food was great- hand cut fries, hand-patted burger, & fresh breaded chicken fingers. We were one of three tables between 12:30 & 1:30- a time you'd think would be pretty busy. The waitress said they were under new ownership, so maybe they're still in an adjustment period. Convenient location bc it's right off the highway.

This restaurant really gets it! They're serving up really tasty food from scratch. I love that they designed the menu to be completely customizable, which is perfect for the picky eater! Already planning to go back to try more! The hardest part is choosing what to order, so many great choices. Awesome friendly atmosphere

I've eaten here a few times, I really want this place to work out, we don't have much in the area. The first time I got their cheese burger and onion strings. The burger patties were very low quality, almost hocey pucks. The onion strings have the weirdest batter, almost like the same batter used on chicken fried steak. It's not a good mix. It was very disappointing because you can't get onion strings many places and normally they r my fave. Another time I got a breakfast sandwich, instead of a sausage patty, it was sausage link's split in half and it was on a weird muffin, not a regular English muffin, I can't explain it but it is absolutely disgusting and had to be thrown away. Very disappointing.

We moved from Texas a year and a half ago and this is truly authentic Southern cooking. I had the country fried steak and it was exactly what I was hoping for. It's also hand made and affordable. Go. Seriously. Try for yourself.Vegetarian options: There are good vegetarian dishes that are just as flavorful and delicious.Kid-friendliness: Good kid options that aren't just an afterthought.
