The clerk was extremely rude.I brought my 5 year old with, asked if we could look around. He said yes, but "hands off". I said thats fine.He then said, "remember this is not a tourist shop". I couldn't believe what I heard so I asked him to repeat himself. Then I just had us leave.Im in the market for his products, but he is not seeing me or my wallet again.

If I could give zero stars I would. Very poor customer service. The guy is incredibly arrogant and rude, from reading other people’s reviews it shows how this guy treats his customers. Not kid friendly shop. You’ll get yelled at if your kid steps onto a step stool to look into a tank. His tanks look like crap and are covered in algae. I wouldn’t trust anything from his shop going into my tank. I strongly recommend going to a different shop for your salt water needs. I wouldn’t recommend this store to anyone. Know I remember why I haven’t been to his shop in years.

Jeff is super knowledgeable, friendly, and funny. I like coming here for diversity of supplies, a lot of good frozen and bottled foods, and the fact that Jeff can order you any fish as long as it’s available. I do wish he carried more acropora frags, but ever else is great and I hope the place never goes away

Pretty great fish store. Slightly run down but that’s what gives it charm. The owner is extremely nice and knows his stuff. He is willing to help out with anything you need. I’ll be coming back for sure.

Absolutely love this store the owner is a great guy and very knowledgeable. I have never had a bad or unhappy visit. Highly recommend this place especially if new to the hobby, jeff never turns down a question no matter how stupid the question might be.

My first time being in this store. I was actually pretty impressed with how clean it was and how friendly the manager was with his assistance to my questions and retail needs.He was kind up front, direct and honest. I asked him some questions regarding a yellow angel fish. I wondered if the fish was eating. He didn't have any frozen food thawed out but he did find some flakes and put some flakes in for the fish and it ate.I then had questions about some coral.He then answered my questions, helped me get my products and I went on my merry way.Great place. Great customer service. Very clean. Healthy fish and coral. Everybody seems to be happy, including me. I'll be back next time in Salt Lake City and West Valley.

We didn't buy anything, but the guy who ran the place was such a nice guy and all the tanks looked nice and clean. All the fish looked well taken care of, and the guy knew what he was talking about. Would recommend to anyone wanting to get aquariums and cool fish.

The store is very responsive in Facebook messenger. They answered my questions and even reached out to me to see if I needed more help for a couple of days, so I decided to go buy a fish. I ended up buying a cleanup crew, fish food, a fish, and I'm planning on coming back to get more. The owner worked with me to make sure I got what I came for and answered my questions kindly even though some answers were right in front of me. I ended up doing some price comparisons after and found them to be quite competitive and fairly priced. They have great variety and selection of fish, coral, and inverts, as well as other products and supplies.

Awesome store with a huge selection of not only fish and coral, but just about any other supplies you need. If they don’t have anything in stock they’ll be more than happy to order it for you.(haven’t had to order anything because they had everything I needed).The store is awesome I enjoy going here every time, the main reason besides the awesome corals and fish. Is the owner. The owner has taken care of me since day one, before I even had my tank settup he guided me with his advice throughout the entire process. It’s the only store that I don’t feel pressured to buy something, he’s completely honest he won’t push to sell me some expensive coral/fish just to make money. ( my tank is fairly new). He gives me personal recommendations on stocking based off of my needs and what fits me. I sometimes stop by the store with the question of “ hey do I need this?” And sometimes if I truly don’t need it yet he’ll honestly answer back with “ no you don’t need that Yet, I’d save your money, but when you do need it I do have it in stock”.What?? What type of store actually gives you solid advice and tells you not to spend money because it isn’t necessary at the moment?? A good one that is!I’ve also taken my family here a few times and he made them feel comfortable and right at home, making them appreciate the store and the hobby even more .Jeff’s honesty, advice,personality/ respectfulness is the reason why His store will continue to receive my business.

Just want to preface this by saying I’m relatively new to fish keeping, but I know my way around.I had started a new tank and was had some time to kill before work, decided to stop here to see if it’s a new LFS nearby.1st thing is it’s all salt water. One day I’m gonna do that but as of right then I was just browsing. Not a big deal, I don’t have much negative to say about the store or the stock itself. Looks well stocked good selection, cleanish tanks.My major issue is the staff. This is well after masks have been required so that fact they weren’t masking wasn’t a huge deal for me.After walking around for no more than 5 mins, I could tell I was unwelcome, as if they could tell I was new. One of the workers walked up to me and said “hey I have something for ya” he proceeded to reach in his pocket and quickly pull his hand out to flip me off.I think he was joking but I don’t know him or have any kind of rapport with him. It was very off putting. If I had been in there to drop $1500+ On supplies and he did that I would have left.In fact I have since then spent over $500 in the hobby on supplies they have stocked, purposely going out of my way to not support that store. Also just recently purchasing an 80 gal salt tank, I will not be stocking it from this store just because that one guy wanted to be funny?TLDR: IMO, staff experience sucks. They have good stock and supplies, but if you’re new to the hobby I would avoid this place. Or get flipped off for looking I guess?

I think my husband and I have found our new SALTWATER fish store. He has such an amazing variety and he is very knowledgeable. He is very honest and will tell you how it is. We have been running our saltwater tank for a few months and couldn't figure out what was going on. We went to Jeff and he told us that everything we have been taught about saltwater is wrong. We are super grateful for him helping us fix our mistakes and helping our fish thrive. He is a SALTWATER only store and if you are a hobbyist that truly cares about your fish I highly recommend him. If you are a snowflake and can't handle the truth when it's told then find somewhere else.

Why are all the valley's fish stores on the West side? The Fish Tank is a gem -- the big fish in a small pond of fish stores, so to speak punnily. Jeff's dedication to and knowledge about fish are reflected in the biodiversity his tanks support. His prices are very reasonable as well. I dragged my daughter there just to see. I highly recommend for any saltwater enthusiasts or anyone considering establishing a tank.

Awesome little shop. Every time I go in there are tons of improvements as this new business develops. Owner/operator is super cool and knowledgeable. Frags I purchased are all doing really well. I pick up something and have a nice, informative chat every time I drop in. Great dry goods selection as well.Check it out!

The person working there (who may have been the owner?) was very amicable and knowledgeable. The shop specializes in salt water fish, so they didn't have what we were looking for. Even though he knew we weren't buying anything after that, he was still more than happy to take the time to show us the fish and talk about them and just chat with us. It was a fantastic experience. I trust this business to give expert advice if you're starting a salt water aquarium, looking to add to it, or just have questions. Definitely come here!

This guy is awesome! I love going in and seeing what he has. He's friendly and kind. There are other Saltwater shops in the area and I'd rather go here. Good prices, and he helps you out and is very knowledgeable. He's honest and isn't afraid to tell you the truth. Love it here!

This place sells things relating to fish, fish tanks, and the things that go inside them.The owner has a wonderful sense of humor and even though we were just there to see something cool (his entire store) he took the time to answer questions for us.His tanks are very well maintained and setup and he seems to have a wide variety of sea life.No sushi, no dog grooming services, no reptiles, but plenty of fish and supplies.

Great service, even when they are super busy they make sure you don't feel ignored. Has a decent selection as far as my smaller reef tank goes. I can't speak for the selection of bigger livestock since I don't shop it but there is a good amount of it. Pretty sure the non livestock stuff like additives and supplements is the biggest selection in the valley.

I was here meeting someone, so I had no reason to shop, but I was impressed with the selection and the employees were very courteous and wanted to make sure I was taken care of (but not pushy and creepy following you around). I would recommend if you were looking for salt water fish.

This shop is the best in Utah Jeff has the biggest dry goods fish and coral selection out there. Friendly and great service. If there’s something you need and for some reason Jeff doesn’t have it he can get it for you.

Store is a little cramped but they make it work the coral frag‘s are decently typically 25$, their fish seem to be decently priced as well as live rock. Only issue i have is the ich they have if they got that under control i’d go for 4 stars

I have been coming here for a month or two now and the person named KJ on weekends is great. On a weekday, I went to this store and it was not a good experience. The owner of the store was disrespectful and rude to my brother. Unless you go on weekends, PLEASE take your business somewhere else.

Very clean shop with a great set up and reasonable prices. Owner was friendly, very knowledgeable, and helpful. We have been to practically every saltwater aquarium and reef store from Draper to Logan, The Fish Tank is certainly one of the better ones we've found.

Went to go check out the store for the first time, seemed okay at first. A lot of the same fish in different tanks and not as much variety as I expected. But they he started talking garbage on one of the other local fish stores. Which instantly turned me off the store completely. It was super unprofessional. I’ll continue going to rustys reef.

The guy seems like he knows what he's doing. But I didn't like the attitude he was explaining things but doing it in a way that made me feel insulted almost like he was calling me stupid. Maybe we both have the same type of attitude or something but I took it kind of offensive.
