Please Be SUPER CAREFUL everyone what you buy from here!!! , we got a 40 gallon tank and it broke by itself after 90 days, it was so sad and painful to see all our fish pet dead. All the water come out so fast, when we returned from work all the fish were dead and explodedš the most SAD scene you could image. They were loved fish and well take care every day. RIP donāt buy here if you donāt want this to happen to yours šššŖ

Best selection for small reptiles and amphibians from any "big box store" I've seen. They had 2 very beautiful crested geckos when I went at amazing prices and I even got a red eye tree frog!

We were enrolled in the puppy training class. It sounds like the trainer decided to quit last night very last minute, but nobody bothered to call. Tell anyone in the class this was the case. Showed up and no one was there. Talk to the cashier who just said āweāll let you know when we hire someone.ā I know for a fact that The majority of the Petco locally donāt have trainers right now because they canāt hire anyone⦠Theyāre having such a hard time finding anyone to take on the classes.I asked about transferring to another class at another location and they said that would be fine. So I called the actual Customer service line⦠Which was its own āexperienceā And after having them Say they didnāt know and reaching out to the store themselves they told me it wasnāt possible to transfer the class and just refunded my money.Be upfront with people with whatās going on. The store has been open a full hour before the class started and they couldāve easily called any of us to let us know that it was canceled. And rather than just some nebulous off in the future, weāll just get you back to class eventually⦠Each and everyone of us shouldāve been refunded immediately so that we could book classes elsewhere if they were not transferable. Additionally, my dog is very car sick and even trying to get him down. There is an ordeal so A phone call really wouldāve been appreciated vs Making me put him through that for nothing and the absolute waste of time this morning we had.Do better.

I have shopped here since it opened. But honestly customer service has declined. I ask a simple question about a stand. She didnāt know but wouldnāt fine anyone to help me. Then I asked if they have any other stands. She said they are really expensive. So what is that supposed to mean I wouldnāt have asked if I didnāt want to pay for one. Terrible place.

The employees are always very nice and helpful. I appreciate pet co's options on dog toys and treats. It doesn't have a dog treat "bakery" station, but other than that it's solid.

Edit⦠I will say Iām impressed the owner responded same day to my review!! Thank you for that!!Just left the store but I found a moldy dog treat one that I buy my dogs every week so I know it looked wrong the cashier said itās fine it still has time before itās expired I told her it will make a dog sick but the cashier did not care and put it back!! So much for caring about animalsā¦

I scheduled a vet appointment 2 weeks out. When I called to verify after 10 text messages from them they said they did not have my phone number on account. They then told me they would need to reschedule because my dog had diarrhea. I took a day off work to make my appointment. I called numerous times and they hung up on me. Don't be fooled they don't care about animals. Just your money. Shocker

Took my dog in for grooming/nails/buffOffically the worst grooming he's ever had. Nails were not cut, only slightly filed. He didn't recieve a proper bath either. Also when we brought him home, he was worryingly lethargic. Almost as if the "they/them/groomer" drugged my pet. Absolute disgrace of an establishment.

I have been coming to this Petco for almost eight years and encountered the new staff today and wow, just rude. I tried to ask about the unmarked stuff on the clearance rack the first new employee had to walk us to the front for what I'm assuming is a language barrier and the guy at the checkout wouldn't even listen to the question but rudely spoke over to "educate" me that clearance is only in the front which isn't true. I finally just left to go to Petsmart.

Donāt bother making grooming appointments on the weekend, it always gets cancelled 2 hours before. Schedule at a reliable grooming facility instead. Very frustrating experience.

this place is so super close to me. everything i looked at buying though was 3-4 times the price of a higher quality item i could buy online. i cap my convenience tax at 5 bucks over, so, no thanks. i left.

I will never shop at this petco again! Although this establishment looks great on the outside, the employees and management on the inside, do not reflect. Bryan was so disrespectful and racist to the African American and white customers, but when it comes to the Hispanic customers. They get his discounts on top of things that already are discounted and he even gives them things for free. I went in to this store to purchase a ferret and was ready to spend as much as I needed, to make sue I had everything I needed for it I noticed Bryan and had asked for help to get one he didn't even acknowledge I was there about 10 minutes later I had asked one of the employees if they could help me and they told me that they didn't speak English and walked away another 10 minutes had gone by and I noticed Bryan again asked him if I could get help with the ferret again he told me that he would call someone over to help me I have been in many petco's and any time I have been told that the go over the intercom and ask for a employee to go to the department that someone is needing help in but nothing no call for an employee to come help me I had asked another employee that was walking by if they could help me and they told me it wasn't there job so I went to the check out stand and asked to speak with the manager low and behold Bryan walks up and see's me standing there and rolls his eyes and say, i am the gm here what do you want? I had asked why I couldn't get anyone to help me, he told me I don't know maybe you should just go somewhere else. I didn't know what to say to that and as I was walking out I had heard him say i dont like him and that if that white boy comes back in he needs to be kicked out. I don't even know you Bryan so how could you not like me? The only reason I know your name is because of your name tag.

I came in with the idea of buying one fish for each of my kids (I have three children). The tanks at Petco were full of them so I asked one of the employees to help me and my family out. We picked three fish that according to the description, were compatible with each other. When the attendant arrived and I asked for the fish we wanted, she started questioning me about the size of my tank and the amenities I have in my tank. I have owned a fish tank for six years now. My tank is nothing fancy, just a 10 gallon holding one fish at the moment with water filter and a heater. I've always kept it up to 5 small fish so I can account about 2 gallons of water per fish. The fish that I was requesting were all fresh water fish that didn't grow more than 2". The employee who's name I forgot to ask, was very condescending with her demeanor by trying to choose the fish I could take. When I questioned her about the 10 gallon tanks that they hold more than 20 fish per tank. She got offended and said that they were temporary holding tanks. After that she went to go get her manager. The manager came rushing stating that they wouldn't sell me any fish because the fish were on exhibition tanks. They got quiet when I asked them about all the dead fish that each of their tanks were holding. Luckily I manage to take some pictures of some of the dead creatures in the tanks. I find it frustrating that, it is ok for petco employees to let fish die but are adamant in questioning the costumer about their tank set up at home. I never tend to write a negative review but hoping that someone from corporate that actually cares about costumer service and animals will read this and do something about it.

Went to get lamp for my graddaughter's newly acquired Leopard gecko. The staff member put her project on hold to help me.We met a couple at the register. They paid for the crickets.

We have our three dogs groomed here. Paige is our groomer and she is absolutely amazing! Super knowledgeable. She works with our nervous dogs so well. 100% recommend having your pet groomed here. All the groomers are nice we have just worked with Paige since the beginning and highly recommended her from our experience.

**Edit** changed review from 1 to 3 stars. Care regarding most animals is fine. Only the tarantula care is a concern.Don't buy Tarantulas here. The information they give regarding their care is mostly incorrect. The few Tarantula species that they do have are not moisture dependent, but yet they are kept in enclosures with high humidity. It's poor husbandry like that that causes unnecessary stress on a Tarantula. There were other things also wrong with the husbandry and as a Tarantula keeper, it's sad to see.

Got a baby Betta fish the other day and it's still growing. Super excited for it. They gave me all the right pointers and tips that i needed in order for my adorable baby Betta fish to grow happy and healthy. Staff was awesome and very helpful. I also got my Betta her first plant and she absolutely lovez it. š thank you petco šthis is great.

I went in to buy a fish and Kai( the guy that transferred for Bountiful) was so helpful and friendly! He was able to help me with all my questions and showed me some things to help my fish tank and fish prosper. Every time I go in now, I'm going to look for him, to make sure I'm getting exactly what I need for my tank.

The West Valley Petco is the worst Petco Iāve ever been too. Before purchasing over $100.00 worth of merchandise. I inquired as to where the restrooms were located. The employee looked me over and promptly replied that they didnāt have any restrooms. I again inquired about the public restrooms upon checkout. I was told very rudely by another employee that they didnāt have any restrooms. When I pressed her as to where the employees went to the bathroom. She told me that they did have restrooms but that they are so dirty that she didnāt even feel comfortable using it herself. Bottom line I think I will start shopping at Petsmart from now on they treat their customers a lot better.

When I came in to the store on Friday a male employee was yelling and cursing by the registers, made me and my kids very uncomfortable. By time we got done shopping he was by the entrance smoking with another female employeeā¦. I donāt think we will be coming back to this location anytime soon, I thought petco was supposed to be a family friendly place⦠instead I felt unsafe. He was an older guy wearing a hat š
