This is an ideally located restaurant, located exactly where needed. It's clean, welcoming, and connected to a local country store, gas station, and gift shop. The staff is friendly and helpful. Dinner for two with an appetizer with taxed and tip ran about $67.00. We had an appetizer sampler, burger, burrito, and only water. The waitress was honest that nothing was fresh with everything being made from frozen foods. Even with that knowledge, the meal was much better than expected, filling and served with a smile. The location is also pet-friendly for dogs.

Like many others have mentioned, the price point is the main downside here. That being said, I would definitely recommend this restaurant price is not a factor! After a long and grueling hike in escalante, I was desperate for a nutritious and filling meal. I was happy to get exactly that with my order of trout, plus an extra side of sweet potato fries (I was hungry). Food was tasty, if not a bit plain, but that’s what I was in the mood for. Hot sauce helped add some extra punch. Total cost for my order alone was $37 (tax and 18% tip inclusive).I was very satisfied with the food - ambiance and service were also exceptionally welcoming and warm

The main downside about this place is the price. It was $12 for two standard pancakes that came with nothing else.If you add a side of eggs, it’s an additional $4.Aside from the price though, the food was decent. Pancakes were great. Coffee was fresh. The waiters were attentive and provided great service.

We really enjoyed this restaurant, stopped in for breakfast while in the area. I laughed at another reviewer who complained about pricing. We spent quite a bit of time in the general area of southern Utah and northern Arizona and found this place to be completely in line with what we paid elsewhere in the area. Further, the wait staff was friendly and our waiter, Russel was very attentive. I loved their stuffed strawberry french toast. Would definitely return when back in that area.

Very disappointed!! Ordered bbq chicken to be told later only dark meat available. At 5:30 pm. Then it came , inedible... like the turkey in the Chevy Chases movie Christmas Vacation. So sent it back , got a burger, which took double the time a burger should. It did not taste like beef, it was like shoe leather to chew. Adding insult to injury... I was charged $15.00 for the burger, also inedible. It's not like I wanted something for free. The chicken would have been $25.00 . I was aware of what I was spending BUT Assumed IT WOULD BE EDIBLE ! SPOKE WITH MGR AFTER. He absolutely did not care. I gave back 2 full plates of food and still paid, and left hungry !!!

OK when you stay in Tropic UT as a gateway to Bryce, your food choices are fairly limited. We decided to try the Rustler because it was right next to our hotel. We’ll the service was only OK and the food really wasn’t very good except for the salad one in our party had. The fried steak was pretty dry and didn’t have much flavor. On a positive note the little loaf of fresh bread for the table was pretty good. The Utah wines on the menu were enjoyed and so was the beer.

Ok, I wanted to like this. Admittedly, the beginning of their season. Waited 5 minutes to be seated after ringing the bell to get service. 3 couples in the place. Food was all obviously from frozen, or reheated. Service was slow to non-existant and I realize people need to learn, but our waiter couldn't even write up/put in our order. Brutal experience.Parking: Parking is a little tough as it is attached to a gas station.

Don’t waste your money. After a day of sightseeing, we were looking forward to a good meal. Had seen this place when we drove thru town on the way toKodachrome Basin state park so thought we’d give it a try. What a disappointment. It was dinner time. 5pm. Waited at the “please wait to be seated sign” for a long time before someone even came out to greet and seat us. They brought out some bread and a water pitcher. The bread was the only highlight- downhill from there. Looked over the menu and decided on an appetizer sampler platter and the Rustler burger. Not sure how you screw up an all deep fried appetizer - but they did. The wings were wrong - gave us spicy instead of bbq ones. Too spicy to eat for me. Mozzarella sticks were cooked so long the cheese burst out of them. Got jalapeño poppers even though they weren’t listed in the sampler. They were cold. The fried green bean were edible but greasy. Waitress seems like she didn’t understand English well. Had to ask twice for the bbq sauce and ranch sauce to go with the sampler. And she seemed annoyed at having to get. She then brought out a plate of wings. We explained we didn’t order any. She seemed confused and annoyed again. Then we waited 25mins for the Rustler burger to come out. It was over cooked and dry. Then waited about 15minutes to find someone to even ask for our bill. Then 10 more minutes for them to find someone who could take the mis-ordered wings off the bill. Ugh. Even while a lot of the help standing in the kitchen area chatting with each other. Seriously considered just leaving. Skip this place. Way overpriced for the food quality, food was bad and the service sucked as well.

Friendly, attentive service with a wide variety of dining options from pasta to burgers to BBQ to Mexican. My server promptly brought a pitcher of water and complimentary loaf of bread before taking my order, and even fixed my slightly wobbly table. Smothered chicken burrito was comparable to other Mexican restaurants. My only (minor) complaint would be that something (the chicken I think) was a bit salty. A good option for families looking for a sit-down restaurant without breaking the bank.

I've only been once but I hope to go back. We want on a big weekend (the eclipse) and still got seated right away and had fast service. Our server was fantastic. The food was amazing (we had breakfast here). The atmosphere is lovely. The pricing is not too high (like it is at most places now) and the portions were big. Lots of menu options too! I would highly recommend it if you're near Bryce Canyon, Red Canyon, Kodachrome Basin, etc.

Went in because idk BBQ was closed since it ran out of food. Honestly the place is okay. I felt so bad that there was only 1 server for multiple tables and we tipped her well. The food is pretty expensive in my opinion.. we ate well and given the options around we were okay with the food.tldr: nothing fancy or special but good enough when hungry. Expensive menu.

How this place could have an average of >4 for reviews is baffling. Maybe because it is in comparison to all of the other dismal food choices around Bryce Canyon? Seriously, if you are staying at Bryce for any length of time, stay somewhere that allows you to prepare your own food. Rustlers is not worth a visit. Completely overpriced for terrible food. The “raspberry vinaigrette” for the side salad was a gelatinous goo on top of barely fresh veggies. The side veggies with entrees were tough and rice was mushy. Only plus was friendly service. Do yourself a favor and bring your own provisions and have a sandwich or snack plate in your hotel room or Airb&b instead of going here - or anywhere else around Bryce for that matter. Food around Bryce SUCKS period.

This is our go-to restaurant in Tropic. We love the Rustler's breakfasts and lunches, though we've never been here for dinner, which isn't available before 4:30 pm. Today, we stopped on the way to a lunch appointment in Escalante, and decided to try their desserts for a change. The Apple Walnut pie was delicious, and I assume so was the Raspberry White Chocolate Cheesecake my spouse ordered. I looked up and it was already gone, polished down to the drizzle of chocolate syrup dressing the plate! Very pleasant way to break a long drive.

This restaurant is basic and clean. The menu has a little bit of everything. The food preparation is good, nothing special. The service is average and the wait staff is attentive. It's a great place to get food after hiking around the national park, but don't expect anything above average.

Arrived at 7:30am for breakfast with no wait. Service was great and breakfast was good. Typical home cooking. Would eat here again. I am a tourist, not a local. I would imagine eating here during prime dining hours could get very crowded quick.

We were in Bryce Canyon after what was essentially the close of the season, so there weren’t many places open. Someone recommended rustlers to us so we went there for dinner and had a very nice meal. The server was attentive and checked in an appropriate amount throughout the meal. He made sure we had all the necessary bits and pieces and kept our soda glasses full.We weren’t that hungry, so we had them split a salad and a pasta entrée. We’re often hesitant to do this because some restaurants kick up a fuss, but these guys were awesome and supplied extra plates and serving spoons. If you’re in Bryce Canyon, stop in here.
