We stayed one night, but would have enjoyed staying longer. The lodge had a very comfortable and welcoming feel in general, with a generous common area with information about the area, and an adjoining dining room. Our room was well laid out and much more comfortable than a standard hotel room. For example, our bed had generous blankets which kept us warm, enabling us to crack the window for fresh air during the night - neither luxury available in a standard hotel room. It did lack a few modern amenities, with no fridge or safe in the room, but we felt the comfort of the room made up for that. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, with generous portions. I especially liked the sausage, which they produced themselves on their ranch. The family running the lodge were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it.

Delightful stay here! Cozy charm throughout. Great views of the countryside, including a herd of Bisons! They do have a nightly fire in the rustic fireplace but be aware guests are not allowed to build their own fires in their room fireplaces. Management will, if necessary, start your fireplace then extinguish it later for you. They encourage you to enjoy the great room fireplace. Plenty of parking. No guest laundry is available here. There is a laundromat in nearby Torrey. I would not consider this lodge wheelchair friendly as all rooms are upstairs, so ask if your special needs can be accommodated. Dark quiet nights. Daily cleaning and bed making services. All rooms have individually controlled heat pumps. Tons of reading materials about the environs are available. Lovely al la carte breakfast is available at a reasonable cost. A great place to relax and enjoy the lodge or return to after visiting the national park!

Stayed for 2 nights on a trip to hike Grand Wash in Capitol Reef National Park.My wife and I and our son stayed in Safari Room - 1 king and 1 queen bed. Extremely comfortable. Decorated with trophies and animal print furniture.Everyone was very friendly and professional. Room cleaning service every day, unless you ask them not to.Views are amazing.Breakfast on our departure day - outstanding.Oh, and there is a small bison herd there as well.

Experience the American West.Stay in a beautiful room (with no TV) on a ranch with Bison/Buffalo & red cliffs & dark skies. Wake up & enjoy the beautiful Western dining for breakfast or coffee.Sleep quality is good here. We stayed in the Saratoga room with a king bed & a powerful a/c. Bathrooms are the usual size, not large which is fine. This place is a “get away from it all” kind of place. Come here to write your novel, finish your thesis or to think about life.Or be a tourist and visit Capitol Reef National Park, drive the stunningly beautiful Escalante Hogback, visit the Anasazi State Park with the amazing Art Gallery with gorgeous oil paintings of Utah (for sale and for very reasonable prices), go on a trail ride on horseback, hike with Llamas, fish for trout, view the Milky Way with a guide, drive to Bryce canyon, go fishing at Fish-lake and see the Pando Aspen trees. You will want to come back to The Lodge at Red River Ranch.Oh yes, and this place is very photogenic.Nearby activities: Dark Skies, Llama hike, Utah Scenic Drives, Fly Fishing, Horseback Riding, Hiking, Escalante Hogback Drive.

Our stay was fantastic. The lodge and grounds are beautiful, the staff were helpful and accommodating, and the room was clean and comfortable. We had breakfast there in the morning, and while it wasn’t included in the cost of the room, the food was delicious and the service was good. I would definitely stay here again if I came back to the area.

I am SO happy my boyfriend and I stayed here. It’s out of my normal hotel budget but worth the warm atmosphere and beautiful interior. I loved the spacious Terelion room with all the natural light. And the best part was the fireplace at night and softest pancakes. They also serve meat from their own farm! And yummy cherry chocolates for sale.I will come again next time I’m in Utah. And they have an old fashion piano!

The Lodge at Red River is a Great place to stay. We stopped in for a night after a long motorcycle ride. The Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was nice and clean and you could see the Deer in the fields right out your back door. Comfortable bed and the breakfast was a nice farm/ranch type breakfast options. Omelets, Sausage, potatoes, fruit plates, yogurt, etc. Very comfy, rustic lodge with great service and staff. The only reason I did not give this a 5 star is my room was right next to the stairs and front door, and since I am a light sleeper I could hear when people came down the stairs, and walked out on the porch. That is the only thing I didn't like but that is due to the fact that people don't realize how heavy they walk down log stairs. I highly recommend you stay at the The Lodge at Red River Ranch. Great place to stay.

We loved it here! Ended up booking a weekend here for our wedding anniversary. It was last minute as we had to cancel our other plans to another place. The room was perfect. The hostess even came in and lit a fire in our fire place for us. No TV was great as we really wanted to get away from electronics. Close to Capitol Reef, but also secluded from other tourist areas. Highly recommend.

Very nice clean king room with fireplace on the first floor overlooking the red cliffs. Daily housekeeping. Nice big hottub with a beautiful view. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Parking is a breeze. Great location close to the park. Bison grazing each morning out the front door. Staff gave great restaurant recommendations and booked it for us. The lodge could definitely use some updating, which wouldn't cost much. Lobby is way too dark and almost gloomy. Reading in there is a challenge. Some brighter light bulbs and lighter coat of paint would make a huge difference. Get rid of the dated, dark wallpaper. No TV, but who cares. We were out all day and crashed early. A mini refrigerator would be helpful for a med my husband needed to keep cold and our trail lunches we bought a local grocery store. My opinion is you could charge $100 more per night with some minor upgrades. The breakfast is very good, but disorganized service and lengthy process. Doesn't open until 7:30. Hikers prefer to be out the door early. Overall very good experience, but a few upgrades would make it exceptional!

We had an amazing stay at this Ranch! It’s a real gem in Utah, the unique real Ranch we’ve been to actually, because it’s really authentic! The beautiful house is surrounded by bisons, and a great trail along a small river. It’s owned by an adorable family, they’ve always tried their best to accommodate us, and they have been so helpful during our stay. The rooms were beautifully arranged, and very cleaned. The breakfast was delicious (homemade granola and pancakes, eggs from the farm...).We loved so much this place that we’ve shortened our stay in Zion to come back here a second time! We really recommend this place for a family stay or for a romantic escape.

The grand old lodge is gorgeous, and the setting could not have been more beautiful! The cliffs are breathtaking and the river is gentle. Staff is friendly and helpful. Interior is overfilled with old west artifacts, many of which are beautiful. Only negatives for me were the loud red walls in the Rodeo room, and a man who was rude about my service dog. When you rent an entire lodge for a weekend event, courtesy is mandatory. Overall a cozy and comfortable stay, and excellent breakfast!

My boyfriend and I stayed there last weekend. We cannot say enough about how amazing our visit was. The staff was AHHHMAZING! The breakfast was hot and DELICIOUS, delivered by friendly and professional staff! The rooms were comfy, clean and inviting. Now, let's not forget the views!! Oh my! Absolutely beautiful! We especially enjoyed the 7 buffalo that are in the front pasture. Being able to view such a beautiful animal was awesome! I personally loved the music that you could turn on in our room at night & during the day. We cannot say enough about this gem of a lodge! We would highly recommend staying there to anyone! It's a true luxury & treat! Thank you for an amazing vacation!

The Red River Ranch has quite an authentic feel to the lodge and the ranch itself. The view of the rock formations in the distance is breathtaking to say the least. These details do not outweigh the lack of service, poor food quality and rude staff. My family rented out the The Lodge at the Red River Ranch for my sister's wedding last weekend. Despite the hefty expense of renting out the entire lodge, we were still charged for each room. Quality of food in the morning was poor at best accompanied with the slowest service.Celebrating after the wedding went on later than expected for the Red River Ranch. Apparently a curfew is enforced that no one was informed of when most everyone was checked in by the manager. We were rudely approached by the manager by being told "we should be in bed."When you stay at The Lodge at the Red River Ranch you are graced with an authentic atmosphere in southern Utah and unpleasant staff members.

Driving to the Lodge from Sundance was our first exposure to red rock country and it was fantastic. The view out of our room was over the river to the cliffs just a hundred yards or less away. Be sure to ask for a room on the back. The Lodge is beautiful. Huge, high ceiling common room downstairs with lots of comfortable chairs, a fire and lots of art, skins and other things to look at. The rooms are nice with a fireplace and the above mentioned view. They serve a great breakfast I hear but we didn't try it. Maybe the best part is J.R, the proprietor. He's a fun, chatty, knowledgeable, charming guy so make sure you strike up a conversation.Used the Lodge as a base to take the spectacular drive to Escalante (really, really spectacular) and to visit Capital Reef, also a great place. It's all good here.

Very comfortable nice rooms, delicious breakfast (definitely suggest getting it). The lodge has such a cool and rustic vibe and the staff is amazing!!! They are so friendly and go out of their way to help you in any way you need. So close to capital reef and also multiple small towns for food. Also, they have amazing scenery in the back and Bison in the front yard!

This was the second time I stayed at the lodge. The first was with a group of friends during a motorcycle trip throughout Colorado, Arizona, and Utah. The Lodge was one of the highlights of that trip four years ago. So much, that I have been talking about it to my wife ever since. This trip it was just her and I and she loved it! Great job to the team at the Lodge for making the second visit just as nice as the first for me, and a great first trip for my wife. We WILL be back!

Top notch lodge with top notch service and cozy atmosphere! It is close to Capitol Reef National Park. The staff is extremely friendly and the breakfast that can be purchased is very good! The lobby is beautiful and cozy and has a fireplace that they have a fire in each evening. I highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a peaceful, beautiful lodge experience in this area of Utah.

One of the top 25 best western lodges. 15 individually designed rooms with high end appointments with a western flare. The lodge is located just west of Torrey, UT off Highway 24 amid cottonwoods next to impressive red rock cliffs. The large trac of land includes 2 miles of the Fremont river which hold brown and rainbow trout. Dave and Charlene VanDyke manage the lodge which contains many antiques. No TV's in the rooms. You will find peace and quiet here. When enough guests stay at the lodge Charlene is a great cook and will offer quality dinner and breakfast. Been going to the lodge for 20 years and love this place and the family that run it.

Unbelievable setting. Great vacation. The staff and Barley are great! Only aside is when I was checking out I told the girl that the dog fee was included in our rate after she said it wasn’t, and she replied it wasn’t again without looking into it. The owner who was her mom I think came over to explain to her how it was included, and the girl didn’t even apologize or say thank you after we paid, or even say have a nice day. All of the other staff were awesome! Would definitely come back.

The feeling of an old Lodge, beautiful rustic setting, with outstanding views. The only downside is if you have an upper room floor your balconies are too small to have a chair outside, and that would be the best way to enjoy the view.

This was my first stay there and I loved it! The atmosphere is wonderful, their staff goes above and beyond to make sure you are happy with your stay! If you ever go there, you have to get the chipotle bison sausage! They make the best breakfast options!

We just came for breakfast. We were told they had limited supplies so calling ahead was necessary but nothing was mentioned on the website. They let us eat anyway because some guests had checked out early, although we still got a lecture on how we should have known to call ahead. Added a picture of their website which has no mention of calling ahead for breakfast. The food was excellent from the omelet to the pancakes. A tad pricey but probably the best breakfast in the area.

Great lodge outside of Teasdale, good base if you are visiting Capitol Reef National Park. Comfortable rustic rooms, friendly staff, nice breakfast. For dinner and lunch you'll need to head into Torrey. We had a very nice dinner at Cafe Diablo.

Beautiful serene setting. Expected more because of all the media hype over the years and the expensive price. The beds are horrible, it's an old building which makes it easy to hear other guests above you and walking in the hall. The only real amenity is the hot tub. They would do well to add refrigerators in the rooms, invest in better beds, finish out the horseshoe pits, swings/slides for young kids. Also, to offer an evening event like S'mores or hot chocolate or wine would be delightful. Something that realy bothered us was after spending $225 per night on a room then paying $50 for breakfast they charged an extra $1 if you wanted real maple syrup.....seemed a little "nickel and dimey". Overall we would not come back to the lodge, especially now that we know about all the other cool places to stay in Torrey!
