She is so easy to walk. Our kids can handle her and she listens much better. These guys are great super friendly and very personable.

We have boarded with Rush Lake Kennels for 10 years. We have always had a positive experience.I trust them to take good care of our dog. They understand that she is part of our family.The staff is friendly and experienced. We've sent our dog here on several occasions now, whenever we go away for several nights at a time. Each time our dog was cared for and appeared happy and healthy when we come to pick her up. They seem very thorough in their care routines as well as in drop off/pick up procedures. All they ask for when boarding your pet is food for them (so you know they're getting the correct food) and a leash, they take care of the rest. The kennel is ran by a guy and his family, and they seem to be very stand up people. The facility is always clean and in good repair whenever I come by as well.

We have been boarding our dogs with Don and Julie for almost 7 years. I won't take my puppies anywhere else. Rush Lake has very nice, newly remodeled facilities. They are heated in the winter and cooled in the summer. The kennels are cleaned everyday. More importantly I know my dogs are well taken care, which creates peace of mind for me and my family.Thanks a ton Don and Julie!!!

We love Rush Lake Kennels! Don and Julie are awesome to work with. And our pup comes back tired and full of smiles, so they must be doing something right! It is a drive to get out to them (I came from SLC) but worth every mile! I am saving my pennies so I can get my pup into their training program. They are very intelligent, professional and they have such a great vibe. I trust that they are taking care of my dog like he is their own, and that means everything.

Rid Kennels have been great to my husband and I along with are 3 dogs. They are kind and run a very honest business. They have been great with us bringing our own food for dogs as one has multiple allergies and can only eat certain foods. I definitely recommend them

Rush Lake Kennels did an amazing job at training our very hyper social crazy golden doodle. We were at a point where we didn't know if we could keep him. He is a very kind dog but was stubborn and hyper and hard to train. So we decided to try out Rush Lake. They took great care of him and trained him better than I thought he would ever be. He can still have hyper playful moments but is a much better and obedient dog. He still needs to use the electric collar but the second it goes on he is obedient and ready to do what ever you ask with out having to shock him. He even lets my young kids train and walk him. So much calmer on walks and doesn't pull us everywhere. We even run or bike with him without a leash and he listens and obeys the whole time. Thank you so much Rush Lake Kennels!

Always an amazing experience with Rush Lake Kennels! Amazing communication, great hours, and friendly service with every visit. I wouldn't take our boyo's anywhere else! Rates are fair, we can take out our own dog food so the boys don't have to switch with every stay, and outside of covid we can take toys,blankets and beds if wanted! Such a great and trustworthy business!

My Wife and I have 2 French bulldogs that are pretty pampered. We have had them kenneled at a couple of places before we found Rush lake Kennels. My wife and I are very impressed with the care the boys receive at Rush lake Kennels! They don’t seem so anxious when we pick them up as they do at the other places. The price and service we receive from RLK is above and beyond any other place we’ve used. We feel very blessed to have RLK as a valued resource to our family!

I can't say enough positive things about Rush Lake Kennels! I have taken several dogs there for obedience training and they offer a no-nonsense method that really works. They helped me learn the tools to effectively train my animals and even my little kids can give commands the dogs listen to. They have boarded my dogs several times and the dogs are happy and clean when I come to get them. They have a very nice climate-controlled facility which is important in the extreme climate we have here. I have learned they get super busy so I will be booking my vacations early for next year! I love Don and Julie and this is the only place I want my animals boarded.

Great kennel, quite a drive from the Salt Lak Valley but worth the time. We had a reliable kennel in Sandy but they retired. Rush Lake Kennels couldn't have met our desire any better.!

They did not take the time to ask me any of my concerns or what I expected from their service. Everytime I spoke to someone there it was condescending and unprofessional. I was talked into leaving my 5 month old puppy for 6 weeks because she would be well taken care of and great on and off leash. I had no problems with her at home except on and off leash. I picked her up 2 days early and she was dirty and underweight. She was sick from the very moment I got her home for 2 days. She was not taught anything new at the facility. I had to reteach her the basics. I was so disappointed because I heard great things about this facility 10 years ago.

Don and Julie provided exceptional training for my dog! He listens to my commands, behaves even with other dogs nearby and is generally more obedient. They provided great care for My dog. I’m pretty sure they speak “dog”.

We love love love Don! We have a larger dog who had some bad manners. He would knock me over by jumping on me, steal food, basically rip my arm off on walks. We left him with Don for the 7 week training and he came back the perfect gentleman. He is still the loveable goofball puppers but so much more well mannered :). His leash skills are so on point he walked in our wedding this month. It's been 5 months since our pup left training and to this day Don is still super responsive and helpful with any questions I have in regards to upkeep training! I would highly recommend Rushlake Kennels for all your training needs :)

Had to quickly schedule a trip out of town so I booked and paid a $160.00 deposit for boarding our dogs with Rush Lake on Saturday and immediately realized there was a problem with having some of the vaccinations 14 days ahead. I called them early, right when they opened on Monday to cancel. I was polite and accepted the fact that due to that 14 day policy, I would have to board somewhere else and asked for a refund. After all, I had just barely paid the deposit AND was contacting them 5 days in advance of the actual boarding. It seemed like a reasonable request but instead I was given a long, demeaning lecture about how I was well aware of the policies and was told that this time and this time only and only because they were doing me some kind of favor that they would give me a credit for a future booking with them. They would not refund the deposit. I don't need a future booking (or want one after seeing their business model), I need one now and I need a refund so I can pay to book with another kennel. It's very disappointing to experience such cutthroat and uncompassionate treatment in a smaller community and during the current national crisis.Again, the policies are not the issue. The issue is that I made a prompt payment for the deposit right when I scheduled (I didn't have to do that) but as soon as I realized there might be a problem with the reservation, I called at the first opportunity to cancel as early as possible after the weekend on Monday morning and Rush Lake still felt like they somehow deserved to take and keep my money. No services rendered! No impact to their business. They are greedy and self-serving.What is the difference between holding my money for a credit for a future stay or refunding it so I can afford to book elsewhere and charging me full price the next time I board with you?I'll tell you what the difference is. The difference is you get my $160.00 now and that's all you'll ever get from me. You lost the other $160 and then some for any future stays - AND probably more as hopefully people will see this review and save themselves the hassle.MY GUESS is this isn't the first time this has happened as you were quick to start the policy lecture before I'd even asked for a refund.

We have a completely different, new dog after training with Don. Our sheep camp border collie with herding breed traits deeply rooted into his behavior was pushing limits and we were at wits end with his behavior. Our dog Scout seems to like being boarded here. He doesn't pull us away when we get there to pick him up, and he doesn't get upset when we take him. We had him bathed, groomed and nails trimmed also and they did a great job.

Don is an amazing trainer and his dogs are top quality. You won't find better quality dogs or training. However, in my opinion, Don and Julie, lack the integrity required to do business with a handshake. It is always wise to have written agreements when doing business, and Rush Lake Kennels is no exception. In my opinion they broke a verbal agreement to demanded money I do not owe. They "remembered" the verbal agreement one way to demand $816; and when I objected they "remembered" it another way to demand $259.20.In March 2016 they agreed to kennel Remi, a female yellow lab they sold me the previous year, to have a litter of puppies in exchange for the kenneling fees through August of 2016. The day before I was to fly back to SLC and retrieve Remi they demanded payment as detailed previously. They have yet to return Remi. I am heart broken.

Those considering Rush Lake kennel... i highly encourage you to look elsewhere for your boarding needs. Our dog came home not walking on one paw, and only walking when she had to. We were told she had one "not serious" abrasion, but upon picking her up and seeing her, we took her to the vet due to severe swelling at the site. the abrasion is abcessed and required veterinary attention to lacerate and drain, get antibiotics, and pain meds. She also has multiple other abrasions that we weren't informed about. She lost nearly 10 lbs during her stay at rush lake. We contacted them to see how she was mid trip, and it took over 5 days (4 business days) to get a response.
