Our server, Ryan, was very friendly, although we went long intervals without being checked on. The restaurant seems a little understaffed. The food took a surprisingly long time to arrive. The calamari appetizer was good, but the breading was a little bland. The aoli dip improved the flavor.I ordered an aged NY strip steak with peppercorn sauce on the side for $68. The steak was aged and prepared perfectly, although it was on the small side. The peppercorn sauce had an off taste. My wife ordered the pan fried chicken. The chicken was a small breast and a small wing. It came with carrots and potatoes, although the portions were tiny. The chicken was cooked wonderfully, but it was lacking flavor. It needed a glaze or sauce. The mixed berry salad was one of the highlights of the meal.

WOW. My husband and I are here celebrating our honeymoon and this restaurant was the best experience ever. The food was amazing and the waitstaff just have the best customer service. Out server was a gentleman from the Philippines and he was the most kind human ever. He made our experience so good. The food was AMAZING too. We were overall so pleased with our experience. Will be returning before the end of our trip. If you're looking for a nice restaurant, this is the one to go to!

We ended up in the Switchback because it was the only place open at our end of Zion. The menu looked nice although a bit pricey, but the atmosphere seemed pleasant. Our meal was nice, good salads, ample mains, decent cocktails and wine - although the portions were oversized - which I’d probably why they feel they can charge so much for them ($85 for a rack of lamb main!).But I was quite perturbed by the way that every time I spoke to the waiter he addressed his answers or comments to my husband, barely looking at me.After our meal we wanted to check out the gift shop, my husband went in before me because I was admiring the foyer art and came out saying he’d been told quite firmly that the shop was shutting in five minutes. I still wanted to take a peek so I walked in and the man behind the counter sighed and ostentatiously looked at his watched. Lightheartedly I joked ‘i know you close in five minutes’ and was pointedly told ‘actually it’s three’ followed by some snarl about how long he’d been there that day and him turning the lights out while I was examining the merchandise.Overall these two encounters left me feeling that the staff here do not value the custom, or potential custom of female visitors and I felt completely weirded out by the experience.

Being flight crew and have traveled all over the world, I will not lie to you when I say I had the best meal of my life at this restaurant! From beginning to end, the best dining experience I ever had!We started out with the bread trio, followed by a wedge salad and Berry salad. Main course was an amazing steak with a side of mushrooms. I ordered the coconut encrusted halibut with a coconut risotto along with asparagus and a wonderful coconut pineapple sauce! The service was provided by a lovely lady named Amaber who should really be a flight attendant if you asked me! Any airline would be blessed to have her!We were never rushed and felt well taken care of.This restaurant serves Ala cart so you can make your main course sides anything you want them to be. The restaurant is pricy, BUT portions are large and of highest quality. Perfect place to treat someone you love and have a memorable meal while on vacation. Even the bathroom was spotless. Enjoy!!

What a great spot right on the footsteps of Zion National Park. Probably the “finest dining” we’ve found that close to a national Park. The food, service, and atmosphere was all fantastic. Highly recommend. Meatloaf dish is pictured.Kid-friendliness: Great kids menu with good size portions and healthy options.

They took us in even though we did not a reservation. Tip for Springdale area. Make reservations, and make them for a time you know you will make it back in time for. The restaurants can be very busy especially later in the night. There were some vegetarian offerings. They were decent and hit the spot after a day of hiking. The staff was super friendly and accommodating.

Stay at Hampton inn and walk here for dinner at 7:30pm look like a lot off peoples came in here should be good. But let me explain why I gave 1 star.Positive: 1.guy who take care my table he very friendly and nice2.facilitates look nice and clean specially bathrooms.Negative: 1. raw steak not cook well even fish or scallops. I have to ask for make it can eat. It so raw seem like chefs don’t know what he doing. Look good food but when I cut a steak it raw inside even fish meats it so raw!2. Spend $220++ for tow people no problem but waiting for food come out more then 35 minutes kind of to long.3. After eat and back to hotel I have terrible diarrhea run in and out restroom more then 20 times all night and vomiting plus stomachaches. I can’t travel or hike next day went to find pharmacy. This is bad experience and ruined my trip. And I not recommend this placeuntil they fix the problems.

Food is delicious. Very high class place to enjoy a good meal. Shelbee was a great waitress. Very attentive. Only down side is that no substitutions are allowed so it eliminated a couple of my favorite meals because I can't eat or don't care for the sides. I know it's because the flavors blend well together . They did modify and gave me a giant baked potato instead of the potatoes that normally come with the 1/2 pan roasted chicken because I can't eat cracked pepper or any peppers. Thank you for that. The chicken, roasted vegetables, and asparagus were amazing. The steak and augratin potatoes were delicious and the meatballs and spaghetti and stuffed trout were a hit too. The meatloaf stacked with tomatoes and surrounded by mounds of mashed potatoes was beautiful and really good too. The dessert portions were enough to share so be prepared.Dietary restrictions: No accommodations allowed except for cracked pepper so be prepared to order what you can eat. It's all delicious.

The ambiance here is classy ranch and the food and service match. Everything was excellent and I would recommend it. But we were a bit rushed at the end due to staff cleaning up tables and floors all around at 9:45. We didn't know about last call at 9:30, but our server made it right. Seems folks eats early at least midweek, but if you want to enjoy sunset and then dinner here beware of this early close. We spent less than 2 hours but would have enjoyed it a little more spaced out and closer to 3 hours.

Not worth the price at all. The restaurant is very nice. Upscale, comfortable, quiet. The service was fine. But the food was disappointing. Excluding the stake everything else was mediocre and wouldn't have been worth it at half the price. We had the bread flight and the sauces were not good at all, if you are thickening your balsamic with corn starch you are doing it wrong. The bread was cold and could have been purchased in the bread aisle of a grocery store. My pasta was over cooked and the sauce was acidic and the buffalo meatballs were bland. The cream corn was blah and the peppercorn sauce was no good. The stake was excellent. Great cut of meat, seasoned and cooked perfectly.

My rib eye was great, slightly undercooked. My friends steaks were way undercooked even after sending it back ones it was still fully raw in the middle. One asked for medium rare the other medium well. Also, since pricing isn't on the menu take a look at my receipt for frame of reference on steak prices. Server was great in the begining but then very hard to find and we had to wait a while just to ask for a cheque. Skipped desert since it took so long.

I had never been here before and decided to try it out on a recent visit. It was originally just going to be me and my wife but our youngest child ended up going as well.I think they deserve 5 stars just for putting up with us, lol.We had the specials that our server told us about, halibut and meatloaf, and our little carnivore got a New York steak from the kids menu.Everything tasted great, portions were good, and our server was very nice and attentive. The atmosphere is very nice with beautiful paintings, pictures, and rugs hanging on the walls and ceilings.I would eat here again but next time I'd make sure to leave the kids home.

Food was mediocre and the cook was as requested and for it being a steakhouse super disappointing. But was craving a steak after our time in Zion so we went here. The reason why the bad rating was the underlying tone of how we were treated, like "we didn't have money" or that the server expected we would not give a hefty tip. The waiter was just stand-offish which was funny because he was laughing away with the older ladies right next to us. So there was a different of treatment for sure. The only thing about this place is that if you have an opportunity to eat out on the patio there are nice views of the landscape.

The food here is truly amazing! Prices are about the same as Morton's or Gibson's steakhouse, but quality and diversity of the dishes at Switchback are far superior! Everything we saw and ate from the moment we were seated was simply awe inspiring. Specifically, they offer blue-rare steak, which may indicate the level of quality they serve. We also had the Chilean Sea Bass, and it basically changed the mind of a non-seafood person. We would definitely eat here again if we're nearby!

We came here after basically being turned away from the sports bar adjacent to this restaurant. Our waiter was amazing and super attentive. The food was amazing. I got tomato soup and it was truly the best I’ve had, just like the waiter said it would be. We gave him a hefty tip because he was so amazing and def want to go back. The steak was cooked perfectly also. Very affordable for a steakhouse.

We stopped by the Switchback Grille for dinner after hiking in Zion National Park. We did not have reservations but we’re seated promptly. The dining room is elegant and inviting. We enjoyed excellent service and the food was divine. We were pleased with the experience and highly recommend it. The portions are very large. We had the rack of ribs (served with a tower of onion rings), calamari, 32 ounce porterhouse steak, and the bacon wrapped meatloaf. The ribs and the steak are definitely large enough to share.

After a long day in Zion, the wife and I hand a craving for some good quality food. We picked Switchback as it was somewhat close to our hotel a didnt have an hour wait time.We order some soup as apps and hers came out great and mine came out barely luke warm. I advised the waitress when she came to check and instead of serving me a fresh bowl they just heated it up in the microwave. Taste was still good so I let is go. Main course rolls around and again my wife meal is great and I ordered a rare steak. My steak knife provided would even cut through butter it was so dull, but the steak itself was cool medium in one half and medium rare to the other half. This plate also went back and my redo steak was then cook half rare and then half blue rare which is below rare. At this point, my wife was nearly done eating and I had lost my appetite. I told the waitress the steak was still cooked incorrectly but to please just box it.The whole experience was beyond subpar and not that I expect anything to be comp’ed, but I never had a manager check on our table due to the double food issues. Even after I advised the second time, nothing. We were provides a free dessert which offset my soup and we paid and left. If I wasn't so exhausted I would have requested a manager.Could have been a fluke occurrence and I know mistakes happen and I am not upset of the food, it was the dining experience that was horrible for a meal that cost nearly $200 for 2 people.

Great salads. Unfortunately we were left at our table forgotten more then once. Halibut was good but was less then warm. I hate the bad rating but for a pretty penny spent I sure expect much better service and nothing less then premium food. Sorry switchback … not again . Cheers 🍸
