I went to this Ace Hardware location 30 minutes before closing time to purchase stainless steel cap bolts, nuts. DUMB EMPLOYEES WITH DUMB CUSTOMER SERVICE! They have an extensive assortment, and it took 30 minutes to locate, bag, and price the parts out about $40 worth. At 6:05 a woman clerk appears at the end of the aisle and announces in a loud voice, “We still have a customer in hardware!” She then informs me I can’t purchase the items I spent 30 min picking out because “they closed their till”. I said no one announced over the intercom anything about the store closing or final purchase. She said, “ We don’t have to do that”. I said thank you for wasting 30 minutes of my time.I told her I would post a google review about their terrible service… here it is! Great selection of hardware I can’t buy from dumb employees!!!

I came to your store at 7:52 PM And the doors were locked. You have your closing time listed as 8 PM. If you’re going to close earlier, perhaps you should Consider adjusting your online info! You would think being a small business you’d Want to close 10 minutes late, not 10 minutes early! As I was walking back to my car another guy tried to go in. So you just lost two customers in a matter of three minutes.

I had been waiting for a few weeks to mount these shelves as I wasn’t sure how to secure them to a concrete wall. After having many good experiences at the Ace Hardware on 400 in Salt Lake City. I figured I’d stop by the one in Millcreek to see if they could guide me in the right direction. Immediately upon entering I was greeted by this older gentleman; unfortunately I don’t remember his name, and he asked me what I might be looking for. I expressed my dilemma and he knew exactly what I needed. He picked out the perfect pieces for me and even threw in a free drill bit. He was super helpful, kind, and knowledgeable, and it was nice knowing I could trust in him to help me with my shelf situation due to his clear experience. I will definitely be returning to this Ace in the future for any hardware needs and highly recommend anyone reading this to do the same!

Paint guy was really helpful and knowledgable of the products Ace has on the shelves. He made the experience of this first time painter feel confident.

Would not buy Toro from them. They are not an authorized service dealer so if you need to warranty anything they will send you away. Typically not a problem, however the other service dealers in town will also turn you away if you did not buy from them in the first place. . . lesson learned, do not buy Toro and do not buy Toro unless through an authorized service dealer.

I bought 130 screws and the guy at the counter wouldn’t let me keep the box, he dumped them in a bag :(

Brent at the Olympus Hills Ace went above and beyond helping me match the color of a very old Benjamin Moore paint. So helpful.

They didn't have exactly what I needed, but at least the place was nice and clean.

Came in today to return products that I didn't end up needing. There return policy is only 30 day and I'm past that by 3 day. Thank for that. I had my receipt and products unopened. I will never shop here again do to this fact. Great customer service 👏 🙄. Home depot from now on at least they take care of there customers. Ace is not the place, fix your policy.

I went into the store today to find some super glue.. A young man with blonde hair and glasses was at the register with no customers. I asked him where the super glue was and without looking up or even noticing me he said 10. After making my selection, I went back to the register and placed my package on the counterparts to be rung up. Again he did not even look up or acknowledge even look Up. I noticed an older gentleman with dark hair and glasses were persuaded to register a couple registers down. I took my purchase a move down and he kindly rung me up. He then apologized for me being ignored which I appreciated. If I hadn't seen this other gentleman to ring me up the score would not be a 2 star it would have been a one store due to the young man who has no customer service skills.

Could have gone without a snide remark from one of the employees, it was the employee with a British/Australian accent. What happened to good customer service and treating customers with respect? Will never go back to this location after being treated so poorly.

Great little hardware store. No huge by any means, but we always try them to see if they have what we need before going to Home Depot. The staff is super friendly and the store has that mom & pop feel.

After purchasing a plumbing item for 4X the cost of home depot I realized the part didn't fit exactly so I went looking to exchange the product simply for a different size. (I know, I know, that I should have been more diligent about getting the right size), however upon returning and simply wanting the other size I went to refund the first one and the gal at the front desk berated me for what seemed like forever on how the package was opened. She gave me some pretty harsh looks and fought me about the return simply for how I had opened the bag. To say I was surprised would be an extreme understatement. In a culture where customer service is a priority, this apparently isn't true at ACE in Olympus Hills. Apparently I opened the bag like a neanderthal and am not up to par with first world civilization and ripped it open like the Tasmanian devil. In going through business school, I understand that each negative review accounts for loss of at least 10 customers, while I don't want anyone to be out of business, I do hope this review does inform others of how this ACE operates. So, off to home depot I go with all my business, even though ACE is quite a bit closer, they will not be seeing this face again anytime in the near future. Hope this helps others and that home depot is significantly cheaper, more helpful staff members, not anywhere near the issues for returning an item, much larger selection, simply put... vastly superior compared to ACE.

This amazing little store's selection is great. They are my favorite for nuts, bolts, screws, connectors, brackets and all sorts of little hard to find hardware pieces. Staff is helpful and friendly. I go here instead of Home Depot even though they aren't as close.

Every time I go to Ace, I end up going to Home Depot. OK sometimes even Smith’s has what I need when they don’t.This last trip wasThe last time I’ll go there probably. I walk in and ask for swamp cooler pads and the gentleman at the front looked at me and said we don’t sell swamp cooler pads. Really no sorry we don’t carry swamp cooler pads or you might try ace in holiday. Just no we don’t carry swamp cooler pads. Once again I walked out frustrated.

Understaffed, but really good all the same. The people are friendly and knowledgeable. They are just overburdened. There isn't as huge a selection as Industrial Supply. That's why I docked 1 star.

My husband and dad went to buy a large light fixture for our garage, and two bulbs for the light. A few days later while looking at the receipt, we realized we were charged for two light fixtures. I took the receipt and went back in to tell the manager about the mistake. He said he checked the inventory and it was all accurate, so he couldn't give me my money back. I felt so humiliated. I wouldn't lie about a $13.99 light. Also, why had we bought only two long bulbs? If each light needed two we would have bought four. There was no point in arguing with him when he was basically telling me I was lying.Side note, I showed the receipt again to my husband tonight, and there was yet another mistake. We were charged for a snow brush that we did not buy. My husband said he remembered seeing some on the counter and somehow we were charged for one.I will not be returning to this Ace Hardware again.

Very Helpful. On the afternoon of July 4th, I went in for paint for a project. I didn't see the early closure sign, but Chris and Bill kindly stayed an extra hour after closing to help mix paint and make sure we had everything we needed.A-- AlwaysC--CourteousE-- Employees

Well, it's a bummer to have to write this. But this place has frustrated me one too many times. I used to live near Olympus area, so loved to go to this store to look around... You can come across some of the darndest, off-the-wall cool stuff at an Ace store. I always had to wait an eternity ti get checked out when I'd be done, but it was still fun to go there anyway.Since I don't live right by there anymore, I rarely go there just for wandering around picking up random cool things. Well, the last while, I have really, really been in the mood to go there and have had a significant amount of money just burning a hole right through my pocket!!! Read that as: **I want to go there and spend an indescriminant amount of money**.So I go there the other evening and it is closed well before the time listed on Google. I drove all the way over there, based on the time they listed here. Well, closed it is. Okay fine. I'll try another day.So today, I have some time and am still in the mood to check out their cool random stuff... But I have a particular question first before I drive clear over there again. I call to ask question. They pick up phone immediately and ask me to hold for a moment. Okay, no biggie... Until EIGHT minutes later when there has been no acknowledgement whatsoever. No music. No checking in on me. No letting me know it is taking them a minute to deal with something. Nothing.Look. I work in customer service and have my entire life, including small family businesses, which is what Ace stores tend to be. Having someone on the line for more than *maybe* 2 minutes without acknowledgement is unacceptable!! I was trying to be patient and just do other things while I waited, but got to thinking, if this is how it is when they have no idea who is on the line ir what they may need, etc... Really just shows me that they don't really want my business at all. They are closed when I go there during what should be open hours... And ignore my phone calls with questions in regards to me wanting to spend money there?? Hell, if I wanted to be ignored and not talk to anyone, I can go online and find random cool stuff. And they wonder why these small businesses are dying... Customer service is dying and with that goes the business.

Saw a $7.99 socket set at Harbor Freight and thought I'd buy Craftsman since I like their quality. I'm only removing a motorcycle drain plug, so pretty much anything will work. They wanted $32! I showed the manager that even on the Sears website that exact part-number was selling for $21.99 but he refused to price match.Funny thing, I just bought a 1906 home that needs EVERYTHING. Lowes and Home Depot appreciate this store's lack of customer service to the tune of about $10,000.Each...

Great. Dalton cut and programmed to new keys for my 2008 Ridgeline. Great job! I was afraid I was afraid it was going to be another $200+ trip to the dealership. Thanks Ace and thank you Dallon

Brought in a tripod I bought at a thrift store, immediately was asked if I needed any help. Already off to a great start. Then I said "let's make this a hipster tripod lamp. That employee continued to help me pick out all the hardware I needed and for a total of $24 I had a DIY hipster tripod lamp in 30 minutes. They seem to hire whatever high school kids apply for a job there but regardless of swell or lame customer service i would say this hardware store usually has whatever weird crap I need on any given day.

Expensive! This place is convenient for the area and they have a lot of higher end products, but it's too small to have a really useful selection and everything seems too expensive.Their real value is in their bolt/screw/small hardware selection, which is impressive. Just hope you don't have to buy too many.

This Ace has changed management recently. I am not sure how to contact those of you who have written good or bad. I would like to thank those who have posted positive feedback. For those who haven't had such a great experience. WE have made a lot of changes and would love to see you back in here next time you need a part or just want to stop in for a bag of popcorn. We look forward to seeing you!!

Crate Little Hardware Store closer to my project than the Home Depot on 21st South. A little bit more expensive, but clearly worth it. Cheerful people. Most of the more common things they have.

Staff is not kind or helpful. That said, selection is fine. Have found that the store is always in shambles. The nuts and bolts bins are always mixed up and you have to use a guide to ensure that you are actually grabbing the right size.

So i went there today and was maybe 10 min early before they open and they where all putting things out and would not let me in said it wasn't time yet, i figure whats the big deal it will probably take me that long to look for what i want befor i need to be rung up, so i drove to Home Depot in less then 10 min, I also saw them turn away 3 others and i saw 2 of the 3 at home depot as well. I have other problems there so i wont be returning to that ace ever again, if i need an ace there are 6 others less then 30 miles from my home.
