I was nervous to stay here as motels don't make me feel the safest. However, this property ended up being one of our favorites on a 3 week vacation! It was absolutely wonderful. Immaculately cleaned, newly redone rooms, so cute! TV was a smart TV so we could stream anything our kids wanted. This is the kind of room you wish you could take with you to stay in everywhere you go instead of chancing it at other places. Only downside was we were on the second level and there wasn't an elevator, but me and my husband managed the luggage just fine. 10/10 definitely recommend!!Noteworthy details: The lady checking us in recommended we eat breakfast at Kenny Rays. SO GLAD we did! It was one of the best breakfasts we've had and it was so reasonably priced. Wonderful little town where everyone knew everyone.

Cute, clean, cozy! What a hidden gem! The Purple Sage is newly remodeled and very nicely done. Our room was bright and comfortable. Clean bedding, soft towels, and the comfiest bed! We spent most of our time at Bryce Canyon and driving Scenic Byway 12, and this was the perfect place to relax after a long day of hiking. Plus, the folks in the office are so nice! Great value for the money.

We found this place to be a hidden gem. We were given one of the rooms that hadn't been updated. It was very clean, not a speck of dust anywhere. Even under the bed, no dust or debris. If we hadn't been told it was not updated, we would have never known. We immediately booked a room for our return trip. We used to consult with major hotel chains and train cleaning staff, we would have given this place a 5 star rating.Rooms: Very clean!

We were on vacation just browsing through online looking for a place to stay! The room was clean was located on a small city/ town with nice people and awesome neighborhood! The service was great and if your looking for somewhere to stay without spending too much this is a place to stay. There was a small grocery around the block, 3 gas stations and a couple of nice diners to eat when your hungry.

Tired & cold from riding the high passes brought us in to stop at the Purple Sage Motel. From the moment we walked in Jeannie at the front desk made us feel welcome. She accommodated us quickly into a beautiful room. Clean & cozy with so many nice touches. She answered all the “where is” questions. Everything we needed was in walking distance.

Barbara and Dale took ownership of the Purple Sage at the 1st of July and are busily cleaning, adding upgrades, and fixing things the previous owner wasn’t able to. I refer to the proprietors by their first names because they were so helpful and friendly when I locked the keys in my truck. The rooms are clean and the nightly rate reflects exactly what you need after a day spent hiking and biking in the parks… a hot shower and restful night sleep. I definitely plan on staying again.

Visiting the purple sage is a must for anyone who appreciates nostalgic design, customer service and/or wants a great night’s sleep! The exterior is gorgeous. The buildings are white painted brick + sienna red doors + freshly painted white door trim. They’re accented with an adorable white table and chairs set just outside every door. The buildings also have amazing details like neon & marquee-style ‘MOTEL’ signs on the roof tops. It’s not only beautiful, but the service is beyond compare. Checking in feels like you’ve arrived at your favorite aunt’s house. The woman who runs the Purple Sage also works at the front desk, and greets you with radiating love and kindness.Best of all, we slept wonderfully thanks to a very clean room, and comfortable beds. Our beds also had matching floral quilts that gave it an extra homey touch, and added to the comfort of the stay. This isn’t a motel in a traditional sense, it’s more of a bed and breakfast..without the breakfast but all of the love and hospitality. If you’re in the area, don’t bother staying anywhere else.

This was one of the best budget motels we stayed in during our month-long road trip. It's charmingly dated, and very well-kept. The owner is super sweet, and she clearly takes a lot of pride in the place. Our room was spotless, the bed was comfy, and the exterior was freshly painted and tidy. The wifi was a little slow, but totally usable for email and basic browsing. The owner had some ice available in her office, and she let me charge my EV from one of her outdoor power outlets overnight. We'd absolutely consider staying here again!

Don't go judging this place by a sign that needs to be brightened up!! I was in the single-story section, and I was pleasantly surprised. The carpet looked really clean. You normally don't see that in these small little motels. The room was small, but efficiently laid out and clean. Again, you don't see this level of cleanliness in a lot of these places. The manager was very friendly and helpful. If you would like a nice cup of coffee, while you're enjoying your clean room, go to "Wanderlust Cowgirl Coffee"!! You can even sit outside and enjoy the sunrise or sunset, whichever floats your boat. Talking about boats, check out Panguitch Lake. Oh, and of course, Dixie National Forest's "Red Canyon" and Bryce Canyon National Park are a NICE little drive away.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Purple Sage. The room was very clean even though there are a few years on the facility. The staff was very friendly and pleasant. The location was perfect for the 4th of July festivities. We only stayed two nights on that visit, but before we left we booked a 4 night stay for the end of the month. This place gave us just what we wanted, a clean, comfortable home town experience. Since my wife has allergies to pets it was great to find a no pet motel for such a great price. Finding pet free now days is very difficult. We look forward to our next visit.

Really great room for the money! It's an older room but it was clean and had a hair dryer and coffee pot... the necessities! The beds were a little on the hard side for my taste, but for the price we paid I'm not complaining. The lady at checkin was very helpful in finding us a place to eat in town. I'd stay there again.

Close to Bryce Canyon NP. The reception is fine. The room is small though. Towels needs to be replaced. The AC is too loud. Beware there’s a metal obstructive along the mattress frame causing extremely pain when you get off the bed.

Room was clean. Despite being assured quiet by the manager there was steady highway noise. Shower only ran warm for about three minutes and then ice cold for about 5 minutes. When this was mentioned to the manager in the morning it's was met with indifference and speculative explanations with no offer of any kind of compensation.

Promised a specific room rate, but charged a much higher rate at check in. Was then told she made a mistake and would correct it. I asked for a copy upon checkout. The door to the office was locked just before 9 am when we were ready to check out. I had to call and get her out of bed. She seemed put out and explained she would do it. I had her do it while we stood there. I’m very glad I didn’t pay full price as the place was a dive. Walls are paper thin, plumbing was difficult to work with, ice machine not working, the walkway on the second story was old, rickety, uneven and was a little scary to walk on. Our door handle was extremely difficult to lock. The TV was very small and hard to figure out the channels. Beds were comfortable, but had a musty odor to the room. We have since had the original charge that was voided the day we checked out, charged to our account a second time. So, the owner not only charged us the higher rate, then voided it when we checked out and put a charge through for the correct amount, but put the original erroneous charge back on our card. We have been charged over double for our stay. We have reported it as a fraudulent charge and are trying to get it removed. I sent an email to the owner letting her know we’d seen the charge come through again and that we were reporting her. What a mess. A very dishonest owner. Stay away from this motel!

This is a relatively small motel in terms of number of available rooms. The owner is a very kind individual and requires you to come in prior to 10 pm to check in. For anything later, he requests that you call him in advance. The rooms were nice and clean. The beds were also top quality. Overall, for a motel in such a small town, I'd give it a five star rating.

Older but, maintained facility. Very clean and functional room with power strips to make up for the lack of outlets. Heater worked great and kept the room nice and toasty until the power went out because of a storm that took out the valley. Plenty of hot water and great pressure to boot. Mike and his wife a very personable and speak several languages. They provided excellent advice on local amenities as well as history of the town and surrounding valley. Glad I chose the Purple Sage vs. the chain hotel.

Great place to stay! Pretty basic, but clean. No mini fridge, but plenty of ice. The owners are super friendly and helpful. Nice sitting areas outside of each room, we're glad we stopped here.

We found the attitude great, rolled in late and the front desk called all over town to find a place for us to eat. Room (#5) was smallish but comfy & clean, pleasing decor, comfortable king bed, nice & bright with windows on both sides of the room. It was a bit chilly when we arrived, but the digitally controlled heater worked perfectly (which is always a plus). There was coffee & the TV had good reception & lots of channels. The free WiFi was easy to set up with great speed ( and was offered without us asking for it). Over all, a very respectable place. Their website is outdated though, and does not do the place justice.

We stayed here over Memorial Day weekend on our visit to Bryce National Park. Because of our family size, we reserved and paid for 2 rooms on Booking.com. When we arrived, they said that they don't accept credit card payments online, so we'd have to pay for the rooms again onsite. I thought that was really strange but went ahead and paid for the rooms again. I had also requested 2 rooms next to each other, conjoined if possible (they don't have conjoined rooms) but they had us on 2 different floors. They were kind enough to accommodate the change so we had the 2 rooms next to each other. One of the rooms was fairly clean, but smelled really bad. It was kind of a burning oil smell that came from the ancient heater/AC unit built into the back wall. It was pretty cold outside, so we had to keep the heater blowing. The second room was filthy, and the water valve to the toilet was closed. We soon found out why. The water would run constantly when turned on due to a non-functional floater in the tank. We would sit off the water when we left for the day, but otherwise we just lay it run, which was pretty noisy. We also had to kill a few spiders in that room, which didn't even look like it had been dusted for weeks. My guess is that they weren't reserving that room because of the toilet issues, so they hadn't bothered cleaning it, but because they were booked out for Memorial Day, it was the only way to give us 2 rooms together. In the end, we had to call Booking.com to get a refund for the double payment. They were very professional and apologized for the problem. They said they would have to educate the owners to help them understand how the payments work through their site so it won't happen again (hopefully).

I stayed here for 5 nights as I was in town for the Bryce Canyon Half Marathon with Vacation Races.Pros:1. Owners and workers are incredibly helpful, friendly, and accommodating2. Room was good for the price3. Numbered parking helps keep your spot open (small parking lot)Cons with Pros:1. Water temperature was inconsistent, but the pressure was really good2. No fridge or microwave in the rooms, but they have a mini fridge and microwave in the office if needed and unlimited ice for your coolerThe photo is of my service dog sporting my half marathon medal in the room. (This place doesn't allow pets, but since he's a service dog... I always try to be courteous, so I laid additional blankets down since he does sleep with me.) Overall, I would definitely stay here again.
