The girls here are really nice and super helpful. I forgot the sugar in the cashier offered to run back and grab it for me and they have good prices on things.

SAD TO REPORT that this store has gone downhill since losing a contract with a supplier that brought in unexpired salad kits and other high quality food. I had been a regular shopper there for many years and even buying merchandise that I sold on eBay. I’ve been there about 3 times this year only to leave empty-handed and grossed out by even the Aspen Mills bread (the original reason I would shop there) being moldy . Hopefully they will shut down and a needed grocery store will take its place!

Discounted and past date items.. if you don't mind looking through lots of random stuff this place is great!! Got organic butter there today for 2 bucks! Also things like cereal, diapers, dog food, toiletries, soda.... they have tons of stuff at super discounted prices AND they take foodstamps 😆👍 I love this place

I love this place for myself and my dogs. You can sometimes find quality frozen steak, chicken and pork for making homemade dog food at a decent price, and lately they have a lot of plant based, natural and organic products too (pic is high quality dog food with steak), I’ve also scored really amazing fruits and veggies but it’s all in the timing with these guys

Great place to shop for low prices! Was able to get a full cart of groceries for about half the price of Walmart or other similar supermarkets.

Alot of really good deals for way cheap on drinks,cheese,tp,etc. I'll keep going here & the ppl who work here r absolutely amazingly friendly,nice,polite. If u haven't checked them out go swing by & see what bargains u can score!!!! Thx y'all for the amazing service!!!!!

Good store. But you got to watch some of the cashier. They put in the Cash register different thing on it. Than what you buy. So when you check the receipt it is different from what you picked out to buy. So it can be 2 two 5 dollars more. Than what labeled on the stuff you buy.

This place sells outdated products some are good some not so much.. I noticed they tend to charge more and miss count the items.. so do your math before you check out.. it has happened more then 3 times every time I come there is something they counted extra.. I had to prove them wrong because they wouldn't believe me until I counted my items for them infront of them. So watch that .. other then that there are good deals in this store, the food not so much but for the most part things are good

I effing love this store! If you going to the store had a bad experience please just go back and try again, it was probably an off day. They have those. You want to go on a day they get new produce or on a day that they get a new coca-cola order. Not the other way around. There would be a drastically different perception. 🤷‍♂️

EXPIRED dairy, meat, basically everything in this store is expired by WELL over a year. Not sure how they can turn a profit. Funniest thing I saw was waterlogged cheese its expired by 2 years for $3

Damaged food stores get a bad rap. Carl's sells good but slightly damaged items. They also have housewares, shirts, knickknacks, and other deals besides food.Everything there is good to eat or use. It's a good place to shop.The inventory changes and new deals coming all the time so if you're looking for something they may have it.

Sure somethings are outdated. But I checked expiration date on things I wanted. I bought so many things. It's crazy how cheap they were. Name brands too. I bought so many spices. Romaine lettuce ..celery perfume . I love this place. People were nice. One employee was off work and was pushing her groceries out. I didn't snap till after I asked for help to see the perfume. She said sure I'll show you. She pushed her cart aside and helped me. Oh yeah. They have my favorite ice too.... Crushed ice. 25lb bag. $2.50. I will definitely go back. 😊

They did not have the cuticle remover I needed. The things I saw for sale there were if very poor quality with outrageous prices. The staff acted oblivious when I posed a couple of questions to them. Never going to stop here again.

Love to go at least once a month and find all the hidden treasures Kari has out in display. Cute gift items for cheap. And finding the great deals on pretty much any grocery item makes my day. One of my favorite grocery stores for salad dressings and tons of different drinks to be found, not to mention the cookie isle. When they get produce in it goes fast, they have the cheapest prices. Love this hidden gem.

I love the adventure of shopping here. You never know what bargains you will find from one visit to the next. Much of it is out of date or moderately damaged, but freeze or use by dates usually aren't set in stone. The main exception is milk.. Also, I never buy dented cans. Otherwise, go for it!

They have the one of the best soda prices in Ogden. The also have other discounted food items some close to exp date or are expired and if you can also find items with an extensive exp date. Food items are always changing too. They have pet food and other house hold items and great deals on many drinks and snacks.

Carl's never disappoints. They have a great selection and the food is always good quality for being seconds and rejects from other places. Their bread selection, fresh produce, and various groceries should fit any budget or diet. And the employees are all nice to boot.

I LOVE this store, though on my visit the other day, the shelves were quite empty. Still, I found a bunch of new and fun items and some old favorites. At this discount grocery, some items are expired, many are soon to expire, but those dates are somewhat arbitrary. I walk a tightrope of wanting to promote the store so it stays in business and encouraging more competition. haha But I realize Carl's isn't for everyone. I'm happy to have found it several years ago and always look forward to a visit, despite it being out of town for me.

Cheap prices! This is a good place for deal hunters. But beware of buying too much because the produce and other grocery items are meant for quick consumption UNLESS you are buying the dry items. Other items that are on sale are meant for stop gap. If you are a hoarder, stay away from this place.

Love this store, one can really stretch a dollar! Stock rotates often, so if you see an item you love, buy several as you may not see it again. I've found ingredient items here I've not seen in ANY other store in the greater Ogden area. This store is a local gem.

Some of the rudest people work there & create a very unpleasant shopping experience everytime I go there. The prices they charge for shirts/pants that can be bought new are becoming rediculiously crazy, especially since everything they sell is donated.

After my visit today I can no longer support this store any longer. The owners son should not be to be in the position he is in. Yelling at an employee in front of customers is completely inappropriate. He needs to chill. No employee should be treated with as much disrespect as I was witness to. Ever! I can't put money in someone's pocket that treats others like that. So long to my favorite store....

GREAT prices on a zillion various things...but you never know WHAT they will have from time to time. A great place to get a sturdy T-shirt in ANY size, for under $1.50...saying various things. (Surplus marathon & promotional T's, unsold surplus from Dept. Stores, etc.) But GREAT for layering, warmth, crafts, labor or painting!

Check expiration dates! It's a thrift store, and I forgot to check the cheese once. It expired a year prior. Prices are super cheap, and product is as expected. If you need a solution to keep under budget, it's worth looking into.

It was ok. They did have some bargains. Their fresh produce looked terrible. Wilted, shriveled and disgusting. The store was rather dirty. The staff was standing at the front of the store talking. When I was at the checkstand, I said, excuse me to the woman talking to a staff member. They both totally ignored me, so I couldn't push my cart through. I paid for my items and left my basket where it was and carried my purchase out.

Great prices, my wallet loves this place. You can always find a great offer for food or basic commodities- hats, pens, etc. Perhaps it's a little shady and you have to check the expiration labels, but I always find something worth going in for and never leave the store empty handed.
