Unusable Dog DoorI had such high hopes for this, but I did not receive the door I paid for. After waiting 3 months for my door to arrive (2 months longer than I'd been quoted) I discovered it had been put together incorrectly, and the dog door is too high off the ground to be usable by my small dog. Instead of getting a left hand outswing, which I had specifically requested and had them mark in the estimate, I received a left hand inswing. Additionally the screws for the glass were facing outside and the dog door cover was on the outside. Most upsetting of all, the base of the dog door is 7 inches off the ground and therefore unusable by my small dog.I emailed about the issues and was told “it looks like your handyman installed it inside out and the door was cut as low as it could be cut.” I replied with photographic proof that the door was installed correctly and even if I had flipped it, I'd wind up with a right hand outswing, which again IS NOT WHAT I ORDERED. I also sent a photo showing the dog door with a measuring tape showing the base 7 inches off the ground. My issue isn't with the door, but the frame and choice of dog door base taking an additional 3 inches. I received no response to my second email asking them to help fix the situation. It's now been over a month and I had emailed three of their employees.Now I'm left wondering how I possibly could have been clearer in the beginning. I had provided a link to a Home Depot door as an example of the size and swing I wanted. I provided the measurements of my dog and specified that she is a Bichon Frise. I expected a company that creates custom doors with dog doors to be able to provide me with a product that met my reasonable requests. I would have been better off, and paid less getting the Home Depot door and installing a through the wall doggy door next to it. I'm frustrated and disappointed.

From the time that we communicated with Brad to the time the door was installed…was seamless and smooth.Great communication. The installation was precise and quick. Would have given 5 stars if it weren’t for the installer not telling me they encountered an issue during installation. I noticed the door was slightly crooked, after the installer left, when I looked at it from a distance. Thought I might be crazy so took pictures with a level and it was off. Sent them to the company. Their response was that a screw “slipped” when it was being put in which caused the door to move. Was told “there isn’t anything we can do because the door is steel”. And when I asked why I wasn’t told what happened during the install they went silent. I had to send a follow up message two weeks later to be told they would ensure their installers communicate better. Before anyone jumps on me for not checking the door before the installer left, it looked good to me at that point as I was inspecting it from a final finished look and listening to the warranty info and how to lock the pet door. I wasn’t expecting it to look “off” from a distance an hour later. The caulking was already setting around the pet door and on the main door’s paint. The only option would have been to remove the pet door entirely, screw up our door, and redo all the screws. You get to the point of what can you live with it. Just really disappointed in how the installer did not communicate and I spent close to $500.

Loved! Utah Pet Access came highly recommended from a friend who had used them earlier in the year. They offer replacement glass like in my friends case or in my case they took out the entire sliding door and replaced it with our custom door. Words can not express how happy we are. We opted for the blinds built in as the room where the door is has several antiques that are light sensitive as well as an office so privacy is a must. Worth every penny and the wait for production time. The staff was also very friendly and great to work for.Prior set up : 5 foot sliding door with medium sized dog door insert. Weather striping was non existent, gaps everywhere that let air in and was energy wasting.New door : 5 foot slider with built in blinds, medium dog door bottom corner with frosted glass to the side for privacy where the blinds can’t reach.

UPA replaced a large, fixed arched window that is on the 3rd floor. They did encounter a problem with the thickness of the gap between the panes on the day of the install but caught it before fully removing the original window. They were out the next business day to finish the job. First day it was raining; second day the wind was rather bad. No complaints from them.Also had them replace the fixed glass in french doors with ones that have the built-in blinds.We will use UPA again if the need arises.

We bought and renovated a new house in the middle of a pandemic, which was incredibly stressful, but coordinating with Utah Pet Access to have a dog door installed for our 80lb labradoodle was the smoothest part of the whole process! I loved that I was able to get a quote quickly online, could chat with reps to ask questions and that the install was quick and the end result perfect! Sawyer is an autism therapy dog for our son and is an important part of the family. He loves his new door and we love the high quality, look and function of it. The quote we got is what we paid, and everyone I talked to from schedule to install was very friendly and helpful. Our install was very custom because the existing door was glass with internal blinds, so it did take several weeks to get the new custom blinds in, but everything turned out perfectly! I would definitely recommend Utah Pet Access.

We bought a new house and I knew I did not want one of those doggie door inserts. I had one at my old house and it was a pain! Utah Pet Access installed a door right in my sliding glass! It is amazing. It only took a week or so from measuring to install. I love having a door in the glass. It makes a world of difference. Professional company and great customer service! I highly recommend.

We love our door! It has truly been a godsend, what with our big, energetic dog. She is able to rocket through at full speed any time she likes, and we don't have to worry about "messes" in the house when we are gone. We don't live in Salt Lake County, but they were willing to travel to our home twice - once to measure, once to install - and while here were professional, clean and fast. I will definitely call them again if we ever need another pet door!

We had a great experience! We have French doors leading out to our deck and that was really the only place a dog door would work. They walked us through the pros and cons and pricing of switching to a sliding glass door with a dog door built in vs. keeping our French doors and adding a custom dog door to those. We decided to stick with the French doors and were so happy with the resultI did a lot of research on the different dog-door-in-the-glass-door options, and this was by far the best option in my opinion. The process was quick and Trevor and the installer were both super friendly and helpful. I called afterwards because my dog was having a hard time pushing the door open (she’s small) and Trevor walked me through some work-arounds and even sent me a quick video he filmed on the spot to show me how to do what he suggested. 10/10 recommend these guys!

I absolutely recommend this place. Their price was the best I found in the area and they were very kind and helpful. They answered all my questions and went over all my options. I ended up being able to keep the original glass (safely stored in my home) which means if I ever sell my town house, and the buyers don't want a doggie door, Utah Pet Access will come back to my home and install the original glass (for a very reasonable install fee). The installation was quick and they helped me store the original glass safely. I've had my doggie door for over a year now, and it still works great, the magnetic latch still works very well, and my dachshund uses it every day.

The door and install went great. They were professional and did a great job. The issue has been their follow-through. We measured and ordered our door in August. They said it would probably be about September/October to get the glass and everything in and would call to install. I hadn’t heard anything the first of October so I reached out for an update and got an appointment date. They installed it end of October and we didn’t use it much because we didn’t have a fence yet. We finally got our fence installed and noticed the magnet wasn’t holding where it should when our pup used it with our north facing door it’s usually windy. So I reached out via their website end of march. Heard nothing. Finally found Trevor’s info to reach out to him and sent him video proof of what was going on after calling him in May. He said we could try a stronger magnet and I agreed that sounded great! But then Again, almost a month goes by with NOTHING. reached out again today and finally got an appointment time for them to come and install the magnet mid June. They have a great product so I’m sure they’re not use to having to follow-up but customer service needs improvement.

These folks did a custom install for us in a small window. It's been perfect, they helped us figure out the right size even though our dog was just a puppy at the time, they were professional, easy to work with, and did a fantastic job. The place I wanted it installed made it difficult to slide the cover in from the top (for when you want to block off the door), but they figured out a super easy solution where they cut a little chip in the side so I can easily slide the cover in from the side and it fits securely. We have no problems with cold air coming in, which was a concern of mine when we were first looking, it's a really high quality door. We've had it for about 2.5 years now with no issues whatsoever, and our dog sprints in and out of it full speed all day long. It's so nice for our dog to be able to enjoy our backyard on his own schedule. If you're thinking about it, get your dog a door! It's nice to be able to get some fresh air without having to ask someone!

Best decision ever to get a pet door. Utah Pet Access is exceptional. Their service was prompt, efficient, courteous, professional, very pleasant... the list goes on. Even after they installed the first door and my dog chewed it up, they came right back out and replaced it under warranty. I've had no problems with the door - it securely stays in place and keeps the breeze out. It looks really nice too, it doesn't retract from the overall door (in my case a sliding glass door). I would highly recommend Utah Pet Access if you're looking for a pet door.
