Always been one for cheaper motels. This placed ruined that for me. Found bed bugs immediately, notified them about it, was threatened multiple times yelled and cursed at. They refused to look at the photos I took of the infestation I discovered. Not to mention they admitted to not washing several of the bed sheets. The guy behind the counter was becoming violent so I requested a refund and threatened to call police. After leaving we got the place across the street with a full view of our previous room. They bug bombed it the next day and kept the doors open for the 5 days we were at the other hotel. I am writing this so you don’t make the same mistake. If you do indeed go here, don’t plan on having an issue with the room because they will yell and curse at you.Noteworthy details: Absolutely horrific and I’m never one to complain

Carpet was wet and the shower was spraying the whole bathroom when I used it. My dad’s room smelled horrible. A lamp shade was barely bumped and it shattered into pieces. They charged me $65 for a lamp shade!! Never again!

The room was right and fair for what was paid. The TV worked with numerous channels, the bed was the best I've slept so far despite the low price, and the shower was hot. We didn't use the wifi.Rooms: The room was clean with the odor of cleaning products, clearly dated but functional.Nearby activities: There is a nearby park with a historic jail on it with a great story. Also a Native American store which is small and had good info.Safety: The town is clearly struggling with lots of poverty, empty buildings. I went for a walk and had a couple scary moments, which was unexpected given it's a very small town. The police stayed very busy while we were there, but the hotel didnt seem to have any issues and i assume that's due to the owners.

We cancelled our stay after checking in because we found bugs behind the bed. I’m pretty sure they weren’t bed bugs, but I wasn’t sure enough to stay comfortably . The staff was very friendly and understanding. They offered us a different room, but we chose to be refunded and stay somewhere else, which they did without any discussion.

2nd Worst Hotel I have Ever StayedI should have known I was not going to be happy with the hotel when I arrived. When I looked at my reservation, it said check in at 1PM. I was surprised, but we showed up a bit before 2pm. When we got there the husband of the owners said check in was not until 3pm. I showed him what the reservation email confirmation showed. He said it was due to the Experian or Hotels service that I used. I told him, I did not use a hotel service. I made the reservation by calling the hotel directly. He then took a picture of my phone to prove to wife that there was an error on the check in. He then had to get his wife to figure out if they had a room available. Apparently, there was only one room ready at 2pm, and they stuck us in room 114.First off, I am not sure if all the rooms are like this, or if room 114 is just particularly in need of maintenance. When I walked in the room, there was a particular dank smell to the room, and when you walk on the carpet, it just feels foamy. At first, I thought they had just finished shampooing the carpet, but it never seems to go back to normal. The air in the room is overly heavy feeling. When I woke up the next morning, I was looking at the bathroom window, and it was foggy and dripping. There is black mold and mildew around the window. The shower is also heavy with mildew, and the shower head continues to drip. In addition, when you take a shower, the hot and cold keep switching, as if someone is constantly flushing the toilet. The hot is scalding! The sheets are so thin, they are not comfortable. I never asked them to clean the room or make the bed. The cleaning carts are out there all day, so I would go and get additional towels and toilet paper (they only provided half a roll for a three-night stay). In addition, I came home with major bumps on one of my legs, behind my ear, and on my neck. They do not appear to be bed bug bites, but something bit me in that room, and they are quite swollen. All and all a not good experience, so if you must use this hotel, make sure you check the rooms before you unpack and make sure you are satisfied with the room. And stay away from room 114.

This is an inexpensive motel in a small town so set your expectations accordingly and you will be happy with your stay. The facilities were dated and run down, but it was clean. The wall heater / fan is noisy and we didn't have hand soap in our room and the coffee maker didn't work -- not a deal breaker at that nightly rate for us. Water was hot (scalding if you weren't careful) and the sheets were cleaned.

I really enjoyed my stay there. The bathroom was art deco, really cool! Great shower! The only detraction was that the first night was really cold because the heater is up high and warmed up the top couple feet of the room and shut off. Otherwise, if you like the single floor older motels, and I do, this is a keeper!Nearby activities: It's close to some beautiful places to see.

We were escorted out by the police after having been told we could have late check out. The manager changed her mind the next morning after mistakenly knocking on our door and waking me. The manager was unprofessional and rude. We were not able to get showers and were harrassed starting at 10 am and threatened at 11:05. We were 2 females in their late 40s - arrived at midnight to check in and went straight to bed. The manager refused to honor late checkout the next morning as promised and we left with no shower for an out of town funeral we came to. She had knocked on my door at 10 am waking me from sleep and stated she had the wrong room. I closed door without saying anything and I heard here say behind the closed door "oh wow" from that point on we had multiple phone calls and/or knocks at the door dealing with confrontation from the manager and cleaning staff. She said I gave her attitude when she had knocked on our door mistakenly (I had been sound asleep!) Check out was at 11 and she threatened to call the cops at 11:05 AND SHE DID! Cops arrived at 11:15. Remember checkout was 11 and we had been told we could have a late checkout. As far as the rooms, we only had hot water. The room smelled like mildew. The wifi didnt work. There were no fan, no a/c and were very warm. There are more people that live there, than there are open rooms for hotel/motel stay. We arrived at midnight for a funeral the next day. When we arrived, there were residents who actually live there, congregating outside in groups. It's more of an apartment complex than a hotel/motel. I wouldnt recommend taking a chance at this place.Safety: Questionable late night activity.

This is a great little motel in a beautiful small town on top of a mountain. If you remember, it is a motor inn type motel. When I arrived there was a herd of deer at the business across the street right in the middle of town! I was a walk-in and the lady at the front desk was friendly and helpful. The room was clean, warm and comfortable. Price is closer to $70, not bad for being so close to a national park, less than one hour from Arches National park. It isn't fancy but it was perfect for my needs. No cell service but that was expected in such a remote location. Wifi is available and works great. I would definitely stay here again. On the cheap hotel scale I am giving Monticello Inn 4 stars. No bugs, great water pressure with plenty of hot water, clean, convenient, friendly, cable and wifiSafety: I felt perfectly safe here. I was able to park right outside my door.Walkability: Convenience store/gas station within walking distance. Quant little town.Food & drinks: Very small town. Limited selection of eateriesNoteworthy details: Park right in front of your door. Stand up shower only. Quant little room with vintage light pink and green tile in good repair.

Shop around. Upon booking 6 months ago this was the only Inn available, that has since changed.Photos of this Inn are shown with the newest addition, we were located in the older section, room appeared clean until you looked around, behind the bed and tables were dead bugs, during the night woke up to mice scurrying around. Carpet was filthy !we left.

Great family run business. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Was there when it was twenty degrees and snowing. The AC/heat unit is behind the bathroom door so no heat or AC gets into that room. It was cold!!

This was a absolute wonderful spot , outside of overated, and overpriced Moab. Nestled in a beautiful ❤️ small town . The room was extremely comfortable with a touch of home feel , coffee in room , with the basic amenities. Best sleep ever! I will be staying again.Nearby activities: Great hiking , scenaries, and expensive overpriced -Moab. There are places to see and hike at, outside of Moab.

Friendly management, nice-sized room, and pet-friendly!I had my own ideas of what a pet friendly hotel would smell like, but I would have never known that pets had been allowed in this room; it not only looked looked clean, it also smelled clean. There were plenty of places to walk the dog; there is a park practically across the street!Highlights:Great locationVery comfortable bedToiletries were providedAir conditioner was phenomenalMinimal noise from other roomsShower rather than tub comboPlenty of hot water

Room was decent enough, and the bed was comfortable. However, while I was taking a shower (there is no bathtub, only a shower stall), every so often the water pressure dropped to where it was only hot water, like every time someone else in a different room flushed a toilet, it took my cold water away. Not a very pleasant shower experience.

This was the absolute WORST experience I have ever had! My room was dirty, the door did not lock from the outside. Very very unsafe. When we went in to discuss this with the hotels staff she threatened to call 911 on us. Why? Because I expect to feel safe and wasn’t? DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!!!! Staff is rude inconsiderate and disrespectful. Really hurts the name of Monticello. I expect a refund for my very unsafe stay.

Overall, my experience was good!We stayed for one night after finding campsites had filled up in the area. For a last minute booking, the staff was incredibly kind and the room did its job. Water was hot, A/C was functioning, there was coffee in the room, etc. I would say the only downfalls would have been the lack of a bolt/hinge lock on the door and a foul odor when we first arrived. It’s a no frills place, so don’t expect much more than a place to rest your head and clean up before heading out.

The room was very quiet! Loved parking steps from the door for loading and unloading. The ice maker was super easy to find with the sign on the door seen from everywhere. The room darkening shades were perfect and there was a cute dinner table with a chandelier along with a desk that really made it feel like home. You can bring your pet! So nice and easy and I’ve stayed at a few motels. Very safe and quaint.

Room was clean. Owner was very kind. He talked about the local life and recommended a good place for us to have breakfast. You can tell he cares about providing a comfortable place to rest your head. We couldn’t find any other places available in the area late that night and we called and he held a room for us until we arrived. 10/10 would recommend and would definitely stay here again.

We have stayed here in the past and enjoyed it. However, this time the Wi-Fi did not work, and the TV did not work. All I was told when checking out was that it should’ve worked, like I didn’t know how to work it. I was also told I should’ve called the front desk and they would’ve walked me through getting the TV to work. I almost did that but felt like 10 PM was a little too late to bother them, my mistake I guess. My opinion of the problem is it’s under new ownership. Next time in Monticello will be staying at a different place.

So for a last minute place passing thru, I was happy to find a pet friendly Inn with availability on a Saturday night this close to Moab.Bottom line. Paid 50% more than my moneys worth.Final thought: My Cons list are all fixable and I hope next time thru to leave a better review.Pros:*There are areas to relive pets that appear to have been green… it was dark so I am really not sure if this was a “designated” spot for Fido …*Parking close to the door. No exterior halls.*close to the ice machine*free Wi-Fi*decent size tv*coffee in roomCons:*room smelled like something may have died and absorbed into the carpet. It was like the lava game … even the dog was not comfortable. She would lay down and start sniffing … get up and repeat…*even if there had been a bouquet of roses to mask the smell… would not have used the shower to bathe Fido.

The rooms were clean and the front desk person was nice. However, the heater in the room hadn't been on all day so it was freezing and took like 3 hours to get not cold. Also the shower sprayed weird and the internet was hit and miss.

I must say this was my second time visiting, my first time I had a great experience. I got a room that was recently remodeled and I had no complaints. But here I am 6 months later and I'm disappointed and will never return to this place. I got a room with two beds, the cushion was all clumped up and the springs were about to poke through. The carpet was so filthy that the bottom of my feet became black shortly after taking my socks off. All the electronics were wired to the power switch by the door. The room was ice cold. The restroom was so deteriorated that the tile in the shower had standing water, and the siding was rotted.
