How did I not know about this place. It is ridiculous how good the food is. Their menu is excellent, diverse, and incredible.The service was amazing, Justin elevated the entire experience. From menu and item descriptions to menu suggestions, it was all extremely good.The atmosphere is great, it really provides a cozy comfortable vibe.Overall an incredible experience with amazing staff and such good food.

This place was so delicious. Every single thing we ate or drank tasted so fresh, well crafted, and DELICIOUS. We got the preacher town and the gimlet as our drinks and they were very refreshing! We started with the oysters and the bacon wrapped dates. I will echo what everyone else said about the dates and that you CANNOT skip them. You must get them and good luck stopping yourself from buying multiples. The blue cheese cream added to the plate was such a good pair too. We got the duck and NY strip special. The duck was cooked perfectly and presented beautifully. Highly recommend ordering it if it’s on the menu when you go. The butter on top of the NY strip was so flavorful and really helped the steak stand out. It was also cooked perfectly medium rare! I’d order it again and again. We ended with the hot fudge sundae which is made with homemade fudge and local vanilla ice cream and it tasted just as you’d expect! the owner came by to all the tables making sure everyone was cared for and their food was good. I am sure if we had any single problem with anything, he would’ve taken care of it immediately. Also, I had no idea this place was so massive! It had a back bar area as well as an outdoor space with heaters! Plenty of space for all your events! If you are in midway, you have to go check this place out!

After being recommended here many times, my wife and I decided to visit for our anniversary. I was extremely impressed. The atmosphere is lively and fun. John, the owner, visited our table to make the experience personal and to make sure everything was done well. The customer service was impeccable (if Basil isn't your waiter, you're missing out). And the food... the food is incredible! We started off with the Swiss fondue. The pasta is made in house and I got the special which was hand made fettuccine, a lemon caper sauce, toasted sour dough and roasted sea scallops. My wife got the pizza with roast pear, caramelized onions and goat cheese. Overall, a very enthusiastic 10/10. It's over an hour from my house but I will make every effort to visit againParking: Sparse on site parking and lots of available street and public parking nearby

My wife and I had our wedding dinner here with a party of ~45. We met with John twice before the event and he was great to work with. It is obvious that he enjoys what he does.The bacon wrapped dates might be the best appetizer I've ever had. All of the food was great and even our guests told us they were impressed with the food, service, and venue in general. The price was quite reasonable as well for the level of service we received.Thanks John for helping our celebration go so well!

I can’t understand why this place isnt a 4.6 rating. The mercantile was amazing! The server was great. Busy but also still being attentive, helpful, and cheerful. We got a salad and roasted turkey sandwich to share. Great portion sizes and super yummy flavors. The design on the inside is amazing. Downtown midway. Couldn’t be a better little spot.

The food was really good I was invited by really good friends, I’m not from here I’m from Ecuador in South America and the food was really good. The hamburger was really good. The service was amazing so I highly recommended when I came here driving with friends the scenery and the landscape is also really cool, so if you get a chance to come here do it

This place was awesome! The food was good, fast, and had beautiful presentation. The plates were all black which I think brings out the colors of the food. We had the calamari as an appetizer. It had a good portion to share for three and was served with a yummy sauce. My main entree was the parmigiano-crusted pork. The pork was juicy and full of flavor.

I enjoyed visiting this restaurant for the food, fun atmosphere, and service. Our waitress was wonderful, there were a couple times we had to wait for a while, but it was because the restaurant was so busy. The food was always great when it arrived and we had several people check in with us other than just our waitress to make sure we were being served. I definitely recommend making a reservation, I don't think we would have gotten in without one on a Friday night.Parking: We had some trouble finding parking, but were able to park behind the building next door as it appeared to be closed for the day.

We came up to midway for a staycation and this place was recommended, so we thought we would give it a try. The atmosphere is cozy with a twist of country modern. Staff and service was down to earth and pleasant. They were so fun to talk to and get to know. It was snowing hard that weekend so it wasn’t very busy that night.We got the mussel and cockles starter which was amazing! It was this creamy coconut lemon sauce that was divine. For our main course we chose their special ahi tuna with glass noodles in a Thai chili sauce and the Alaskan Halibut. Both were so delicious, but my favorite was the ahi tuna.The owner came by at the end of our meal to talk and say hi, we love that it’s locally owned. Highly recommend this place and we will definitely be back!

The food was great but service was surprisingly slow. It took about half an hour to get out appetizers and another half hour to get our entrees. I'm also surprised that they never asked if we wanted alcohol refills and our water was only refilled a couple of times. Thankfully, all of the dishes were delicious. The chicken and calamari were both fantastic, and I really liked the pork/pasta combo.

I have honestly never had better food in my entire life. John the owner/chef makes the absolute best food. This was my 1st time, after hearing atleast 10 friends RANT and RAVE about this place, I was expecting it to be good, but it FAR EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS, it was amazing, better then phenomenal and I’m not even kidding. I’m not one to get excited easily so when I tell you, this place is good, it blew my mind and also, blew other places out of the water. My wagyu was cooked and seasoned to PERFECTION. My veggies were cooked and almost seared and I have never tasted anything better in my life, EVER. All the food was grown and picked from a garden/farm and it was put together to make EVERY flavor pop and taste so good. Bison meatloaf, bruschetta, collard greens, baby carrots, squash, potatoes, filet mignon, shepherds, pie, cauliflower, veggies, sweet potatoes. so much yummy food cooked healthy, and fresh every day. It was so good! If you have not ever tried Mercantile at Midway, you are missing out. Your life is not complete until you have tried this place. I Highly recommend and I promise it’s worth every penny.

We came in and were seated right away. We were sat by the large windows facing Main Street which was nice. To start, we ordered the calamari which is one of the best I’ve ever had. The spicy aioli really tops it off. For entrees we ordered the van wagoner cheeseburger and fries, and the campfire Idaho trout. This isn’t the first time we’ve had the trout and it’s been incredible every single time. The burger was good as well, but I had ordered it medium-rare and it came out well done. Not a big issue because it was still good. For dessert we had the apple pear cranberry crisp and the double chocolate peanut butter pie (with ice cream) which was one of their homemade pie options for the day. Both were amazing! Service was prompt and efficient. Overall a fantastic experience.

Wow, wow, wow.So amazing!Everything from the view, to the service, to the food, it was all amazing!We were staying in Heber and MMR was recommended by several people, so we knew we had to go.Wow!Did I say wow yet?Destiny seated us and was very kind.She answered all of our questions with ease and gave us yummy suggestions.I cannot stress how far above and beyond she went in giving us her honest opinion.The server (I apologize, I can't remember a name) was as equally helpful in fine tuning our meals.I'm kind of picky, but they made helped me navigate the extensive menu.Whenever I'm in the area skiing, I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu.Thank you!

We had the best experience at The Mercantile for my sister's wedding dinner! They went above and beyond all of our expectations. John was able to accommodate all of our needs and the service was wonderful. The servers are great! Justin knows exactly what to recommend on the menu and is just so polite and amicable! I cannot say enough good things about this place. We are so happy with our experience and the food. I will recommend this place to anyone looking for a private area to have a get together.

Arrive late (after 9pm) at the Homestead resort, starving, despite being the only restaurant open nearby- we grabbed a pick-up order- what a delight! The beet ‘hummus’ & bacon wrapped dates appetizers- so flavorful! Chicken Caesar salad- my favorite Caesar dressing I’ve ever had. Then my favorite- rhubarb strawberry crisp… you nailed it Mercantile! Such a clean, modern meets country feel. Well done!Vegetarian options: LovelyDietary restrictions: Lots of options.

7 stars! Best meal in recent memory! Top notch calimari. Their signature trout with capers was perfect. I had the parmesan crusted pork loin with penne, so good. We couldn't stop there, and also loved the strawberry rhubarb crisp and the peanut butter chocolate pie. Everything was unreal, so good.We're only here for two weeks, but we'll be back again before we leave. Can't wait!

First time trying this place. We sat out on the patio. The food was delicious. The service was great. The only 2 negative things was the parking lot is really small. Also, they had like a fly problem out on the patio. There were tons of flies everywhere on the tables. I’m still giving it 5 stars because it was so delicious. I would definitely come again.

Stopped in for dinner a few weeks ago for our anniversary. Our server was awesome, very knowledgeable and friendly. Unfortunately we came in before they were closing for thanksgiving week, they were out of ALL their appetizers and a few side menu items. The trout dinner was quite good, my husband salmon portion was quite small. We noticed both meals seemed a lil over salty. Nice quiet atmosphere though.

Tonight’s dinner was at Midway Mercantile Restaurant. It has the perfect California 70’s updated naturalist vibe. Someone was lovingly caring for the flower box in the back. Butterflies were flitting above the lavender plant outside the windows.I regret not getting the raclette/fondue appetizer after seeing it on another table.The fancy chicken nuggets (chick-chacks) with either a sweet or Franks sauce, were really good though. Hearty portion.My husband got shrimp and grits. It’s not Southern style. More Indian flavor with spices. It was good and he liked it, but the former him wouldn’t have ever gone for this dish.I got trout and it was perfect. The lemon butter sauce added a light flavor. It comes with potatoes, bacon and kale. Since I don’t love capers I got them on the side and didn’t add any.Dessert was strawberry rhubarb crisp with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Fresh strawberries can remind you of spring but cooked strawberries are all fall. See empty bowl photo.We came really hungry and it was more food than we should’ve ordered. It’s hard to know how much food to expect when you order.I’m a fan and would like to go back. Just to remember, I want to try the wood fired pizza, bread, chocolate mousse and pasta! Just not all in the same meal. Because I want to still fit in my clothes!Hip atmosphere, good service, leisurely meal with music playing Abe not loud even when full.

The food was excellent. We had the orange lavender chicken (the orange sauce on this was fantastic and the chicken was perfectly cooked and not dry) . We finished off the meal with hot fudge sundaes which were also delicious ! To top it off , our waitress Teresa was so kind and attentive. If you’re looking for a nice place to have dinner look no further.

Update: got a message to email about my dinner from John. I messaged never heard back …Reading the reviews and talking to a few people was a little excited for dinner.Looks pretty have a big wood burning pizza oven, high expectations when we walked in. All went downhill from there.Our water glasses had stains and marks. One had a huge brown spot stained on the inside we didn’t notice til we drank half of the water in it.Caeser salad - we thought the lettuce was old and was extremely wilted, learned they roasted the lettuce in the pizza oven- I’m puzzled who the heck roasts lettuce. That makes zero sense. Lettuce should be crispy and fresh.Pizza - tasted like it was from an amusement park or airport. Was terrible considering the pizza oven should have been better.Fondue- was cheap cheese not great.Brussel sprouts best partSalmon way over cooked- never asked how we wanted it cooked. Didn’t understand the accompaniments which include cashews and a red stew.Branzino was good.Burger ehWouldn’t come back- trying to get out of the restaurant asap.

Had the cheeseburger. Did not care for the serachi aeoli, but, the hamburger was moist, flavorful, and the cheddar cheese was great. The bun seemed fresh, and was not dry nor was it soggy.My wife had the Trout. She said it tasted just like her grandfather's when she was young. It was emotional for her!The atmosphere of the restaurant is quaint, I liked the two fireplaces, but it was not as unique as I had hoped. But very well worth the visit.The staff was friendly, but a bit slow to re-fill drinks, or to check on us. We did not have to wait to get a table, it was lunch time on a Saturday, so, that was actually nice. The server was helpful in telling us what she liked there.It is pretty expensive for lunch, so bring $$$. 3 people was over $78.00 with tip.I would personally not eat there again, but if you like a little different twist on pizza or a burger, or, the Trout, knock yourself out! 4 solid stars!
