A fantastic grocer. The best source for food in hundreds of miles in any direction. The prices are incredible for the surrounding area.Located in a largely agriculture area but surrounded by outdoor recreation sites as well.Fresh produce unmatched in the area. A great selection of food stuffs and basic supplies for the remote location.Friendly staff to match the high quality selection.

We came here to get food while in Capitol Reef National Park. They had a great selection of basically anything you could want. Great food options for hikers and people traveling through. The store is kept very clean. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and even the locals shopping here were super kind.

Great small town Grocery Store! We stopped in for some last minute items on our way to Capitol Reef which included a Sleeping Bag, which they had.

This grocery store is in Loa, UT. It was close to the Saddle House where we were staying. Small grocery store, but seemed to have a good enough variety and choices of food. Deli. I never did see a chip aisle but found some salty stuff on the candy aisle. Our cashier opened up register 2 and checked us out. I was asked if I wanted to donate my change to something, maybe something for the school. I didn't like that people are allowed to bring their dogs in the store when they aren't service animals but that does seem to be tolerated in Utah. Some people are allergic to dogs and it is a health hazard. If they got loose it could be a disaster in such a small store with a lot of people in it. I saw one large black poodle type dog in there and a woman carrying a small brown dog. The store is small enough already and things are stacked on the floor, that could be a tripping hazard if you aren't paying attention. I specifically noticed trays of Coke products zig zagged on the floor. I should have taken a picture but didn't. If you need supplies while you are in Loa this would be the place to go. I'm not sure of the hours. There was plenty of parking and the store was crowded. The prices seemed fair for being in a small town. They had some good sales going when I was there.

Well stocked supermarket. I was looking for groceries somewhere between Bryce and Capitol Reef and this is definitely the place where I could find all I needed for a week. They also have a small section of non-food items (like magazines and toys).

Welcome to Royals Food Town, where we pride ourselves on being the ONLY grocery store within a hundred miles! Lol. But seriously, here’s what I like being a local, if there is a particular item you want them to carry let them know and they’re usually willing to accommodate and that’s pretty awesome.

There are not many places to eat around these parts. Surprisingly, this place has a decent option. The supermarket has a deli that serves good hot options. The chicken strips tasted great. I also liked the onion rings. They also have pre-made sandwiches. The staff was friendly and fast. the locals not so much.

So tired of the priced/charged differences. EVERYTIME!! Just today: I bought two 18 dz eggs priced 7.99 each and at checkout charged 9.49 each. When I addressed it she adjusted for 2 for 15.98 and then charged another 2.99. Of course I only noticed after I left. Also charged for 2 garlic, bought 1. Charged for cilantro, didn’t buy any. Bought zucchini but rang up as cucumber. Do better Royals!!

Great store for a little town. They have a surprisingly good selection of stuff, everything that we needed at a good price. All of the employees that we encountered were really nice. They were cleaning the carts like something out of a movie. The produce was fantastic and they have a little deli, which were didn't try, but it looked good.

Love this place! Great folks and great selection for being way out in Wayne County. they have everything from fishing and hunting and food and even a hot deli counter and ice cream counter as well. Can't beat this place if you're passing through. Love it!

They had everything we needed. Clean and easy to find everything. And the cashier was amazing. She was very kind when I said I am hard of hearing and have to read lips. Wish Ron would have bought their roasted or fried chicken I didn't see it but I could smell it. I don't think they were price gouging considering they were the only store in the area. And they were open for Pioneer Days, which was great since we're traveling and needed dog food.

The only decent food store for miles. Unfortunately, they are not taking adequate precautions to keep shoppers safe. The mask mandate was not enforced, and a woman came up in line inches behind me, practically breathing on my food, and the cashier said nothing to her. The workers were respectful, but the management must do a better job of keeping the community safe.

We loved shopping here while we stayed in the area for a week. Prices for most of what we needed were reasonable—some produce was expensive but that’s to be expected in a smaller town. We still found some awesome sale prices on a few things too. Fresh donuts and garlic bread from the bakery were delicious.

Royal's Food Town is a grocery store in Loa, a rural part southern Utah. Their selection and service was excellent. In particular, the young man running the produce area was particularly helpful offering to get fresh green onions from the back. His opinion on the best cantaloupe was spot on! Loa is fortunate to have such an excellent market!

Not a huge store, but I've always been able to find what I wanted. It's clean, logically organized, with sincerely helpful, friendly staff. Produce is fresh and we'll tended, but don't expect exotics. I come to southern Utah 2 or 3 times a year, and I save my grocery shopping for Loa.

Being the largest grocery store on our way to Capital Reef National Park we found all of the staple items we needed for our family including Gluten Free pantry items. The prices were very reasonable, selection was large enough for the population and the staff were fantastic. Our kids even asked to drive the extra time and miles to return here for food items part way through our vacation, so tacking on an extra 20 miles round trip back to our hiking location we still found it worth it. It may have been the sewing shop located in the store, by the produce section, that was a motivator for one of our kids; they really wanted to bring home a couple yards of fabric. The gentleman at the deli was especially friendly, chatting about favorite roads and hikes in the area we should look into.

Small, but the only real grocery store for miles. We were staying in Torrey UT. Loa also has cheaper gas and a nice builders best hardware store.

This store serves a large area. It's not that big but has most staples, produce and meat you would need.

Typical small town grocery store. Produce choices were varied however there was a lack of freshness which I suppose relates to being so far from bigger cities and having produce brought in a little more often. Great place to stock up of camp style food while camping in local area campgrounds.

If you're coming by this place, you have to stop in for a bagel or doughnut. They always taste amazing and are extremely cheap compared to other options of similar quality. This place also has your typical grocery store stuff if you need anything like that. The staff is usually very helpful and friendly. Overall, I'd highly recommend this place.

Well worth the drive from Capitol Reef to shop here, before heading to Escalante or Hanksville, whose stores don't quite compare. They clearly make an effort to cover most palettes. I was surprised to see Full Circle Organics on their shelves at reasonable prices. I even found organic pure Stevia Leaf, something I would normally have to go to a health food store for. Most prices were reasonable, some great sale items. Staff was friendly, however, don't expect a mask covering the smile, no staff wore a mask, and it's the same in most places in this general area. Same for customers. (May 3, 2021)

I was surprised to find such a full-service, complete grocery store in Loa. They were well stocked and not as tiny as they looked from the outside. Their prices were perhaps a tiny bit higher, but very reasonable for the location. This is a really nice store!

Royal's Food Town in Loa, Utah is a nice small town grocer with a very decent selection of food and household items. Very clean and well organized store. The guy at the cash register acted like he never worked a customer service job before and forgot his common courtesy to customers. Sort of an awkward interaction. For the sake of an honest review, I give four stars. I appreciate when customer service representatives acknowledge their customers with simple formalities (hello, goodbye, have a nice day). Other than that, I do recommend this store for grocery shopping anywhere in the area.
