I really really loved coming to this specific Cal Ranch. I was told today that there won't be any more gun sales or tag sales here or at any other Cal Ranch? There were signs that basically said "No gun or tag sales, sorry for the inconvenience". Out of my 33 Firearms, 10+ came from these stores because I enjoyed the older gentleman who worked at the gun counter and the sweet lady at the Ogden locations gun counter. He was so sweet, kind & knowledgeable, as was she! I was also told that they, along with many others are now gone for good? What's going on here? I should also say that while there today, I did not see a single familiar face (but am fully aware that staff can change at ay time, for any reason). Maybe I'll drive across town tomorrow and see if this is the case at the Ogden location as well. Anyways... Always loved this store but sad to hear this information.

Very frequent piercing alarm sounds, typically in about 2 in the morning.I'm rating this in the middle because I suppose this could mean two things. Either their alarm system is being triggered by the wind and they haven't quite fixed it yet, or they've got so many amazing products that they're being robbed at 2 am on a very consistent basis.

Talk about rude and not knowing what they are talking about. Called ahead to find out if they had grass bales of hay. Was told they had premium grass hay for $18 and change. When I get to the cashier, they tell me that they do not have any and that I was told incorrectly. I drove 10 miles to get this, to be told it was too bad and, “At the end of the day it’s not on me.” Wow! What great customer service and satisfaction. When I made mention that I was now going to have to travel back across town to get what I needed, the store employee said, “Fine by me.” Shrugged his shoulders and smiled. No apology, nothing.

Went in to go purchase some chicks, wandered around to see if I could find someone to help, couldn't, went to the registers to ask for some help and they paged someone. 10 minutes later I'm walking out without chicks because nobody came to help thanks folks

This is becoming one of my favorite stores. They have a great selection, and the service I received is the best I've had anywhere.Of course I'll continue to go, but I also plan to visit more often for more things, even if it isn't the closest store to me.

I seriously come here like 3 times a week. Mostly for hardware, good prices and a better selection than Home Shmeepo... I can buy hardware in bulk here, just like the good old days. Many items are not priced and a bit unorganized, but for my needs it’s perfect.Stopped by today after no luck at 2 other places. I knew they would have my tractor hydro fluid. ✊🏽

The first and only time I went to this location, I needed some pellets for my smoker, the website said they had 17 bags in stock, so I figured they would be easy to get. They did not have a single bag of the pellets I like, I would understand the website being wrong if it said they have 1 or 2 in stock, but the fact that it said it has 17, and they don’t have any is simply astounding, the guy there told me they don’t have any in the back without me even asking. I’ve worked retail before and I know they don’t have things in the back, unless it’s something that is already fully stocked on the shelf. One time I got my wife a the kitchen aid attachment that lets you grind your own meat, I got it from target, the target website said they only had 3 in stock, but when I got there to buy one they had 5. I would think that a store like Cal Ranch would be better than target but I guess the layton location is a little special.

Great quality of items to choose from for gifts! I love the selection of clothes, hats and belts as well. The new addition of Hey Dudes is awesome!The customer service team is amazing and always treat everyone with respect and kindness.

Manager here named Rylie (or Ryan I think) was amazing. He helped my girlfriend with her science project about animal feed and I couldn’t be more thankful. Definitely come and support a good business like this one that cares about the community

Loved my experience here. Might not be the most organized store in some areas but the gun counters experince was fantastic. Selection of ammo was great. No limits. The manager that helped was fun and amazing to talk to. Spent well over $200. The gun counter was really well organized. I hope to go shopping here again.

I handed my wife a few items I needed as we got to the cashier. I left to take the kids to the car. After getting home she looked at the receipt and said "That box of staples you got was 37 bucks?" I looked at her as if she was confused at what she was looking at on the receipt. I looked it over and sure enough, the small box of staples that the price tag said was $4.49 rang up as 36.99! I looked on Amazon and they have the same staples with more quantity per box for $3.99. Looking over the other items I noticed that 3 of the 4 things I picked up where rang at a higher price than what the tag on the shelf stated. Caution shopping here. Upon returning the items, I tried to tell the cashier the issue, particularly with the staples, hoping she could address the issue before one of you have this issue, but she could not care less to even listen. I will say, it was the quickest return I ever had at any store, so that was a plus-I guess?

Great place friendly staff, but please!! Fix your alarm from going of at night. It goes off at random early A.M hours. Which is very annoying for those of us living in the apartments nearby.

Incompetent. Talking back to customers. Not focused on sales. Retail failure. I will go out of my way to avoid making a purchase at this store. Fifteen employees I saw inside the store…another four outside…and multiple customers, including me, were told they “can’t show guns right now”…unacceptable. How can you be paying massive amounts of payroll for the MANY employees on the clock but tell people that you won’t help them at the gun counter. I wanted to buy a gun but I was told to go away. How can you go through the expense of advertising but then when a customer is actually IN the store, the experience I get is an 18-yr-old talking back to me and others.The times that someone IS at the gun counter, it’s an 80-yr-old who CANNOT HEAR customers talking to him, he doesn’t speak full sentences and acts like he really does NOT want to show anyone the guns. He’s not able to do the job…the bottom of the barrel was definitely scraped in hiring him. How is it that every time I go in this store, it’s incompetence over and over again.

Your manager Mitch was disrespectful, rude and plain out mean. I come to this store all the time and am never disrespectful to the rules or anything, I do my business and get out. I had no reason to be treated like that. I don’t feel welcome to this store ever again. Plain out rude service by him and mckayla. McKayla, has the worst customer service ever, she seems like she hates everyone and everything. At least pretend while you are at work. I couldn’t be treated worse by her.

Easy to find. Parking is Free. Store is well took care of employees are nice and friendly. When looking for something that is more country or needing for or mean or anything for Animals this is the store to go to. My daughter does horseback riding sometimes and she needs boots in the jeans and all of that for that stuff and it is easy to find in almost all sizes here in the employees will go out of their way to help to make sure that she's in the right stuff. I feel that some of the stuff is expensive but I understand most of it is real good sturdy hold up stuff so it's worth the prices.

Great store and service. Bought some tie downs and a heat lamp. They usually have everything i need. UPDATE. Had to come back and buy sine rat traps. The workers were awesome. I also bought this live rodent trap and have caught rats in it within an hour of setting it. Super happy with my purchase. They seem to have everything i need everytime i go there.

Come here to buy dog food, its usually fine except one time a worker advised me to feed my dog a different kind of dog food that was supposedly "Better" for him, he started crapping all over the house and his stomach got disrupted, we returned it and got our bag exchanged for our normal one. I get he wasn't a trained vet so he shouldn't be giving that kind of advice anyway but next time train your workers better on not giving advice on stuff they couldn't possibly know properly anyways. Besides that this is a good place and the chickens they sell in the back are adorable.

Terrible. Beware! I exchanged a defective item, they told me to just pick another up, without another word from them. I left the store. They sent out an employee's "husband" that came at us loaded for bear in the parking lot, very aggressive, to humiliate me for walking out while they were unatentive, RECEIPT in my pocket. TERRBILE TACT and treatment from a NON-EMPLOYEE... threatened to CALL THE POLICE on my senior Dad and I. THEY DON'T DESERVE MY BUSINESS. I'd shop somewhere else. Very disorganized and customer shaming for their lack of clarity... and it was just a small matter of inventory! Unbelievably unnecessary and heavy handed.

Was told by mitch I would get a call back after he transferred stores, I did not he is the most inconsiderate person I've ever had to deal with, it's been a whole week with no calls, at the bountiful store i waited more then a week for him to call me back including going into the store more then three times to talk to him, The final time i went in i was told that i was the last thing on his mind because he was switching stores. I had the UPC number and everything ready for him to order the gun i did half the work for him and he still wouldn't do it.

Very convenient store. I stopped by looking for some cast iron cookware. The employees all so friendly and courteous. I also liked the prices. Some were better than Amazon. The store definitely felt like a friendly country atmosphere.

I loved shopping this store. Always clean and staff very helpful. However I am very disappointed in the fact that as a company you are removing the children’s car hart line. I am not a fan of shopping for everything online and knew I could count on your company to ensure I could find the items at your store. Last week I went into the Layton store to buy my grandson a hoodie and jacket but found no selection. The staff informed me that you are reducing these items. Please re-evaluate this decision.

A neat store packed with a lot of very useful items. You can get everything from sprinkler heads, to baby chicks, to a gun safe, or a cowboy hat. Oh, and tools, and do some banking at the America First Credit Union inside.I always like browsing this place because of how well stocked it seems to be. I can always find the parts I need to fix this or that small yard or house project, and I'll usually see another two or three things I should get also.Everything but groceries.
