What a warm, welcoming environment for vets who need acute care and rehabilitation. My husband was treated with dignity and respect from day one. I am so grateful to the staff in the 900 building. The CNA’s, nurses, and therapists were so compassionate and caring. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

The Southern Utah Veteran's Home is a great place for Veterans to spend their last days or years. Our Father died in December, 2021 and had been in the Vet's Home for nearly 6 years where he received great care. The Home itself is in a beautiful location that is soul insipiring with the picturesque Red Mountain in the background. The Staff were amazing as they took great care of our father, who loved them and their service. We as a family were so grateful for all they did to assist our father and make sure his needs were attended to. It gave us much comfort in working with them to make sure Dad had everything he needed to have the best life he could have in those final years. (He lived to be 100+ years old and that was an amazing accomplishment for him! He was happy there!) A heartfelt "Thank You" to all of those who were part of Dad's care and wellbeing!

Best places to do your clinicals at, did both of my clinicals here and had great CNA’s that taught me everything I needed to know. Shoutout to Leslie, ranea and Chloe in the 400 hall for being great mentors. If you see them give them praise for their hardwork!

The Ivins Utah Veterans Home is a fabulous place to house a loved one. My husband has been there for 1 year. He has dementia. I live out of state and never announce when I will be visiting. Whenever I go see him he is always shaved and clean. The nurses truly care for the residents. They are kind and asked me to tell them all about my husband so they can know him better. The meals are fabulous and there is a bus to take them on outings and in house activities for those who want to go. The facility is beautiful with the red cliffs right out the door. The grade school kids have in the past come and done programs and went trick or treating there. Everyone knows my husband when we walk down the halls or I take him out for a few hours to ride around. I highly recommend them as a place to house a loved one and a wonderful place to work.

I was so impressed by the kindness and attentiveness of the staff. Grandpa seemed right at home and comfortable in his surroundings. He loved the fitness center and all of the many friends he made. The facility was always clean and he was well cared for both physically and emotionally! I am thankful for the southern Utah Veterans home.❤️

As a former employee, I can say there were many things I admired about the veterans home. Obviously, no place is perfect, but for the time I was there it was the best place for me. I appreciate the veterans and their families and the connections made. As a department manager, I felt the other managers were very supportive of me and my department and the goals we had. I feel the floor staff from CNAs to Recreation staff are the backbone of the facility and care deeply about the veterans and the care given.

My father was at this care facility for 8 months. He received great care. He was treated with respect and tenderness. The doctors, nurse and social worker were absolutely top notch. The staff kept us informed in a very timely manner of any issues as they happened. He only left because family all resides out of state and we wanted to have him close enough to visit. I highly recommend Southern Utah Veterans Home.

The Southern Utah Veterans Home exceeded our expectations and needs for the care of my father. The caring staff put my mind at ease knowing he was in good hands. I loved the access we had to him and the courtesy calls on his behalf to update me on how he was doing. The home itself has a very patriotic scene and the feeling you get upon entry is so humbling. Do everything you can to get your loved one in this home. They will be well taken care of.

I am a former employee I was fortunate to work as Department Head from the start up of the facility. I was there when we welcomed our first resident . It was such a proud moment for all of us . I worked there until I retired. I loved working there. I have had a long career in Long term care and worked at other facilities both local and in other cities in Utah. The SUVH is the best place I have ever worked. I love the caring and respect given to all Veterans and their families. The staff goes above and beyond to serve them . I would encourage anyone looking for a rewarding place to work or need their services for a loved one to contact them. I believe working there was on of my best experiences and I miss them all everyday.

From the moment I first walked into Southern Utah Veterans Home for a job interview (almost 9 years ago), I was struck by a feeling of reverence. Upon being hired, I quickly understood what a unique opportunity I had to care for the men and the women who have served our country, and what a privilege it was to hear their stories of bravery and sacrifice. The team at Southern Utah Veterans Home puts their best foot forward everyday to enrich the residents’ days; to provide continuing education to staff; to collaborate on promoting practices that ensure quality experiences; and to uphold impeccable facility standards. The building itself is immaculate, and the grounds are well kept. I’ve since worked at several other skilled nursing care facilities, and can assure you that they didn’t hold a candle to Southern Utah Veterans Home; it is second to none. The staff are attentive and cheerful, and they work with unrelenting purpose. Tone is set from the top, and the Administrator, Jerry Olson (who has been there from the start, since the facility opened in 2013), is a great man to have at the helm. Jerry is a task-driven and effective leader, who also has a kind heart. I once saw him come in on the weekend just so he could visit a resident on her birthday.I tell everyone everywhere that my travels take me that Southern Utah Veterans Home is my favorite place to have worked (I wouldn’t have worked there at three different times in my life, were this not the case). I smile so much when I’m at Southern Utah Veterans Home, that my face hurts by the time I leave. :)Southern Utah Veterans Home is an exceptional destination, both on a personal and a professional level. I would entrust any one of my loved ones’ care to this team without a second thought.

The Southern Utah Veterans Home in Ivins, Utah has served our family well. During my husband’s long-term memory care they were always patient, caring, and helpful They were appreciative of his military service and treated him with great respect. I was kept informed at all times about his health, safety, and welfare. I had regular consultations with team members, which was especially important during COVID when we could not always visit in-person. I also appreciated that I was often asked about my own well-being. When his time came to a close, they were kind to him and to our family. They graciously honored our final requests. I am so grateful for the privilege of being served by the Southern Utah Veterans Home.

Southern Utah Veteran's Home is where my father, who served on the front lines of the Korean War, has resided for about three years. He enjoys the atmophere and services of a very qualified and caring team who treat him with love and respect. The staff see to all his needs efficiently and kindly and they keep the family informed at all times. I am involved in regular care conferences where his high quality care is reviewed with input from my father and from family along with receiving reports from various departments. I never worry about his care but instead have peace of mind knowing he is well cared for in a safe environment by loving nurses, aids, cooks, housekeepers, therapist, allied health providers. etc.

My wife was a previous department head and worked there until she retired. I have made many friends with the great staff. I enjoyed volunteering for staff appreciation lunches and parties. They always treat staff well and go above and beyond for their employees. I enjoyed having fun with staff at annual pool party at community center. I also enjoyed cheering for the softball teams sponsored by SUVH. It is a great place to work and always serve the Veterans with respect and dignity

My dad is currently being taken care of at the Southern Utah Veterans home. The staff is great! I love how they take care of my father. He currently suffers from Parkinsons disease and they do their utmost work to make sure he's well taken care of. They are now bringing back in person activities as well as allowing grandchildren to visit, which has been great. Being that my 2 year old hasn't seen her gammpy in person since 2021. Thank you, especially to Tammy Clark for taking care of my dad and doing all that you have!

I had the opportunity to complete my first semester nursing clinical at SUVH and had a wonderful experience. The residents seem to really enjoy the facility and many of them expressed to me their appreciation of the nurses and CNAs taking care of them. I was impressed with the variety of activities and programs available for the residents and the individualized care plans instituted for each.

My husband Leo Peterson was in the Veteran's Rehab Unit from April 20 2016 until June 22 2016 he was recovering from brain surgery at age 93 very seriously ill, he could not have had better treatment anywhere than he received at the Veteran's Rehab Unit, they worked with his therapy on his condition level and treated me his wife with love & compassion, they provided a bed for family to stay with Leo 24 hours a day, he thought we lived there & was surprised when he was able to come home.We felt like we were family there, the meals were very good, activities available, Barber Shop, facility was always clean attendants on duty gave excellent service. I would give them a"10 star review" if I could. I have told everyone about your caring service and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. My Sweetheart passed on May 12,2017.Sincerely, Daisy Peterson

Southern Utah Veteran's Home provides excellent care for our Veteran's whether going there for rehabilitation services or for a long term stay.As a Hospice provider there for several years I was always impressed with the excellent care provided to each veteran as well as their loved ones. The Administrator and the Director of Nursing work hard to hire, train, support and retain their staff of Registered Nurses, CNA's, Dietary personnel, PT, OT and many other service providers.I highly recommend this Veteran's Home to all who qualify for their services.

The Veterans Home is by far the most well run, organized, and welcoming skilled nursing facility in southern Utah. The grounds are immaculate and the nursing staff is phenomenal! The administrative staff goes out of their way to provide excellence, quality, and support to both residents and staff. Like cream, people like Jerry, Todd, Katherine, and Nancy just rise to the top!

The Southern Utah Veterans Home is a welcoming and honoring facility caring for veterans. The setting against the red cliffs and the building and grounds are beautiful and provide an environment for well being. What I have found extraordinary is the dedication of the staff. Whether dealing with the professional caregivers, administration, maintenance or nutrition workers, their personal commitment to providing kind, excellent and honoring care for those who have served our country is inspiring.

Our father resided at SUVH the last 2-1/2 yrs of his 98 year life. We have nothing but praise for his care. We visited as often as possible, always knowing when we left he was in the best place possible with people that truly cared about him, always keeping us informed of his care and condition. We all want to keep our loved ones at home as long as possible. If you need to make that decision for extended care, and SUVH is an option, I highly recommend it. Their employees aren't just doing their job, they truly recognize and appreciate the sacrifices these veterans have made for our country and the freedoms we enjoy. They treat their residents like family.

Highly recommend!! The folks at the veterans home are wonderful! I work remotely with a provider that sees patients here, and i'm incredibly jealous when he is scheduled for this location! Tammy is one of the kindest people i've encountered in a workplace. She does a fantastic job at making people feel comfortable and taken care of. What a wonderful way to give back to our vets! 10/10!!!!

As the owner and clinician of Mobile Dental Hygiene, I love proving oral care services here. The coordination of care amongst the staff from front office to social workers to nurses and nursing assistants makes my job significantly easier, but more importantly makes it easier for the residents. There is always someone willing to help the residents and this is the only facility I actually have a dental chair and dedicated space to provide care comfortably.

Great place to work! I've been working in the medical industry for nearly 20 years as a registered nurse and CNA, and in both hospital and long-term care settings. This place ranks at the top! You won't find a better culture of prioritizing patient care, professionalism, teamwork, and caring for the employee as a valued person. What really sets it apart as a place to work is its focus on learning and career development. There are numerous avenues and opportunities made available! It really is impressive how its not all talk and fluffy feel good slogans--they really practice it. I'd have no hesitation in the slightest sending my loved ones here for their care or for their career.

I have lived in Washington County for over 25 years. I have visited the Southern Utah Veterans Home on multiple occasions. I served on the advisory board for four years. I can say without equivocation that the Southern Utah Veterans Home is the most patriotic location in Washington County. I am grateful that all associated with the SUVH take this role and responsibility seriously. I am grateful we have this amazing facility in our community. It is a true blessing for all - residents, staff, community and the younger Americans in the area that visit and remember the sacrifices of our veterans.

I have been at SUVH since April of 2014. Anytime you work with human beings, it can not be perfect. With that being said, this is the most amazing staff I have worked with in my 30 years in Medical Social Work. They truly love our residents and want to give the best care possible. This dedication is because of the men and women who have served our country. It is an honor to serve them every day. In 2021, I switched to being a family member when my retired Army father was a short-term rehab patient. I was so proud of our staff giving him such excellent care. This was still during the pandemic and lock down period. Again, an excellent facility that serves our veterans.
