My experience at Red Mountain Resort was generally positive. The resort embodies many of the qualities one looks for in a getaway destination, and I found my stay quite enjoyable. The staff provided excellent service, which greatly enhanced my experience. However, there were a few drawbacks to note. We opted for accommodation on the newer suite side, but unfortunately, the beds were subpar, leading to discomfort and a lingering backache even after returning home. Additionally, we ordered food from the restaurant to our room and found it to be of low quality, despite trying several different dishes. The prices were not reflective of the poor quality. Moreover, our room lacked a door latch or chain, which was concerning for security reasons. This oversight meant that the door could be easily opened if someone accidentally used a key or if housekeeping needed to access the room. This was particularly worrying with a little one inside the room also, because even if the door was locked on inside, you turn the handle and that would pop the deadbolt lock from the inside and your door is open.Despite these issues, I must acknowledge that these are relatively minor grievances. Overall, Red Mountain Resort offers a pleasant experience, and I would rate it between 3.5 to 4 stars.

I selected the retreat package and had a life changing experience. I took advantage of all the classes and elected to do some of the extra stuff. Missed the hikes because I was exhausted, but plan to do those next time. Rooms were a little dated but very clean. Service was outstanding. I was able to arrange for a ride to St. George to pick up my vehicle that decided to turn the engine light on 4 hours out of my arrival. Very caring staff and adjuncts. Can't wait to go back.

This was my second visit to Red Mountain resort. The first visit was perfect! The second trip MAJOR FINANCIAL issue!! The resort began taking money out of our accounts without permission!! When we checked in we were asked to put a card on file for $100.00 for incidentals only. Now I don’t know about others but I may not pay my bill with that card and my bill is paid upon CHECK OUT. Red Mountain started removing various amounts of money from both my and my sisters accounts! I looked at my account to find 285.00, 700.00 and 2000.00 withdrawn! They maxed out my sister’s credit card! I was paying for BOTH our stays -WHEN WE CHECKED OUT- not during our stay! She is on a very limited income so maxing out her card was a huge stress for her. It ruined her stay and mine as she had things to pay with that card over the next month. I have NEVER had any hotel just take money from my card without consulting me first! I DEFINITELY DON’T PAY AS I GO FOR A HOTEL BILL WITHOUT BEING CONSULTED!!!The resorts response was it’s a new system and you’ll just have to wait until the bank puts the money back in your account! We’re not all wealthy people with excess money to throw around. I saved to pay for our 10 day stay for a 70th birthday gift to myself. Won’t be going back to the idyllic place I love do you poor management- watch your purse!!

Outstanding one night visit to the Red Mountain Resort. Rooms excellent, site facilities fantastic and ability to book various trips from the resort if you use it as a base to explore the area. Meals in the restaurant good , fabulous service and a live duo playing and singing. Meals could have been cheaper but you are paying for service, location and quality.

I wish I had read the reviews prior to staying here, I booked it because they claim to be a 4-star resort and after my stay saying this is a 2 star is generous. The room felt like a dungeon my window wouldn’t even open, the sink was clogged and wouldn’t work I asked to change rooms for a working sink and better view, I wish I had just gone elsewhere. The new room was the same just a little bigger with two non working sinks, it smelled musty and there was left over food and drink in the fridge from the previous guest. I told staff about these issues which no one showed up to fix or rectify the situation. During checkout I brought it up once again not once did they apologize I was charged 100 extra for the room “upgrade” and the employee only said “well did you tell staff about this?” I said yes and she just said “oh well I guess I’ll speak to my manager” they only knocked $50 off I have all these charges that are “holds” in my card and I’m very very disappointed at this entire stay, rude staff terrible rooms this is far from luxury

You definitely pay for the location of this resort. The views outside your room are amazing! Inside your room not so much. Very dark and outdated, had to change rooms after nite one because of multiple issues. We never even tried to eat at the one restaurant onsite. The menu was very limited and sooooo overpriced! So that was a pain to always drive 15 minutes for food. The saving grace of the stay here was the spa, so nice and relaxing. Good Luck!!

We attended Easter Brunch at the resort. It was a terrible experience, and the staff didn't even care and became argumentative when I sent back the mimosa she served when I ordered a peach bellini. The meat that was served (steak and lamb) was so tough it couldn't be cut. The rest of the food was dry. The desert bar was from the grocery store. The price for this awful brunch was $60 per person. Never again 😒. I would give it zero stars.

I am an annual visitor to Red Mountain Resort for the past 11 years. I was nervous to go this year after hearing there was a new owner and could not make separate reservations for a group staying in one room as we had been able to do in the past. I hoped that would be the only change. The good: the service team was excellent as always. Rooms were clean. Restaurant servers were helpful and friendly. Hiking guides were excellent. Front desk service was wonderful. Massage and facial were the best. We had great weather, as usual. The bad: I tried so hard to convince myself that the meals were great, but halfway through my 4 day/3 night stay, I found myself staring at the dinner menu, unable to find anything exciting to order. On previous trips, I couldn't wait to get to lunch and dinner. Lunch had a great salad bar and a buffet with different themed options every day along with some classics you could always depend on. Now lunch is a plated meal with only about 5 options. Dinner used to be a choice of soup or salad, with fresh bread changing daily, and a changing menu with a selection of protein options that could be prepared several ways. After that, dessert was a choice of 5 delicious options. Now dinner is an a la carte menu with 4 protein options prepared one way each. So after you had the steak one night, you either pick a different protein or get the same thing again. Sides are a mix side dishes and appetizers. There were some really good ones, but if you are just looking for a side to go with your protein, it was slim pickings. Maybe 2 vegetables, potatoes that are battered, fried, and covered in chili sauce (very good, but not a healthy side dish). The only bread provided was focaccia bread. Supposedly 4 pieces, it was actually 2 pieces split in half! We asked for balsamic and olive oil and the waiter came back with balsamic but said they didn't have OLIVE OIL! He said he didn't believe it and was going to check himself. He came back a few minutes later and confirmed that they did have an oil blend, but no olive oil. Keep in mind that the price they are charging for a dinner meal is around $100 per person, without alcohol. And then there is the breakfast. This was a surprising disappointment. Previously, they had a great buffet Monday through Saturday. It had everything you could want to grab some good food quickly before you head out for the morning hike. The daily Muesli was always delicious. Now they have a served breakfast with maybe 5 options: Pastries and fruit; eggs, meat, potatoes and toast; Avocado toast (with minimal avocado); waffle; oatmeal. That's it. And finally, Sunday Brunch. Ugh. This used to be so wonderful, people would come from town to eat. Now, it's just the regular breakfast menu plus the regular lunch menu (minus an item or two). It just felt like all the same food over and over. And even though most of the food was really good, I found myself not wanting anything on the menu.I think if you are only getting a room, it's probably not a problem. You can just go somewhere else to get good food. But with the package, your meals are included, so they better be good and have variety. Not the case anymore. I really hope the new ownership takes notice of the empty dining room and realizes these new changes are not working. I will be checking in before booking my next trip to see if they have brought back any of the dining options that the guests enjoyed so much in the past.Another negative observation I had was at the spa. Almost everything was as perfect as usual, but the cleanliness of the women's shower and steam room were lacking. The interior shower curtain was pink with mildew as well as some of the corners of the shower. The steam room smelled of mildew and customers were using some of the shower spray to make it smell better. There were visual signs of mildew in the cracks of the tile grout as well. I know these areas can be difficult to keep clean but I would expect them to be cleaned thoroughly each day, and there is no way this is happening.

Just stayed here and I would like to provide a more comprehensive review. I was really nervous to come here because there are a number of negative reviews. I think I can shed some light of that. There are both goods and bads that I think is helpful to know. This resort is pricier than others and I think they boast amenities that should make this a 4 star resort; however, I can help as to the places this falls short. My family typically stays at places like Best Western Abbey or Holiday Inn and you know what to expect, your typical 3 star hotel. This however is more expensive and ,therefore, should be held to higher standards. (Btw, we stayed in a double queen villa, so I’m not sure how the other rooms fare). So, let’s start with the goods.Pros:Location : This is located more in Ivins and it’s out of the crazy hustle and bustle of St George. It’s very lovely and scenic. Also, it didn’t seem too busy or overcrowded. This was so nice.Facade: The buildings and grounds are gorgeous. They are made to look like red adobe buildings and they really are nice looking.Room size: For our particular room, this was really nice. There was a lounger chair and the walking room was good. The tv size was amazing and there was a fireplace, which we actually used. There was a very large bathroom with double sinks, walk in shower, soaker tub, and the toilet had its own door, which was nice. The towels were nice and thick and absorbent.Beds: Very comfortable. Good bedding and pillows.Fitness room: One of the best I’ve ever seen at a hotel. Has everything you could want here. And the equipment was really nice.Pool: Largest indoor pool I’ve ever seen at a hotel. It’s in its own building, which is nice with loud children that just want to have fun.Now for the bad. This is where the discrepancies creep in…Cons:Maintenance: I can see why people are saying this. Dirty grout that needs to be cleaned or at least doesn’t look clean, cracking pieces of tile. They have granite countertops, in the bathroom, but you can see they haven’t sealed it, which is sad. At face value, the rooms look clean. It’s just when you are in the bathrooms or showering that you notice a little more.At the main hot tub, the area bordering it is made with stone and several of those look like they are loose and need maintenance. Also, the towels were completely gone at the main pool and the hot tub, both times we went. I’ve never been to a hotel where that wasn’t a main priority.Guest Services: We had to call the front on a couple occasions and they were pretty prompt mostly. However, we had a bat perched above our door. We called asking if they could remove that. They said they would look into that but they didn’t . I think they were aware of the bat because when I saw a couple employees in our area, they looked up at it. Now it was little but just for the safety issue, rabies, etc, I would call animal control and see if they could help relocate it.Lighting: it was so dark in our room. This was a huge negative for me. It was hard to see when I was trying to work. A couple corner lamps would help with this. Fridge: There was a fridge but it was as small as they come. It would have been much nicer if this could have been a little bigger. Also, they use a lot of extension cords and this is a little different to see in a hotel room.Water temperature: I like hot water. I was able to turn the water to the hottest. It just wasn’t warm enough for a nice shower or bath.I think that this place has the feel of maybe being a little understaffed. I think a few maintenance items, like grout cleaning, deep cleaning, and adding additional lighting, larger mini fridge would be easy changes that could bring this resort to the next level. Or really make it worth the higher price. With the amenities provided, like the large pool, nice workout room, etc, it really should be a 4 star but it seems like they have maybe let it go a little bit.

This was our first time staying at the Red Mountain Resort. It's in a great location at the base of the red hills near Snow Canyon State Park. I had great expectations prior to the stay; some were met and some were not. We booked a King Villa room. At my departure, I discussed the below PROs and CONs with the hotel staff. The manager took notes, apologized, and gave us a room discount which was appreciated. This is why I gave 4 stars. If they had not done this, it would be 3 stars.PROs: Great views and location, good property maintenance, plenty of parking, nice amenities like fireplaces and jacuzzi tubs, quality implements, nice walking trails, a secluded feel away from the busy city, professional staff, decent value.CONs: Cleanliness: The room on the surface looked clean, but it could be seen that deep cleaning was not being conducted as dust bunnies were found in abundance.Temperature: Although the room had a thermostat, the master bath had no heating vents so it was very cold to use the toilet. Might get hot in the summer as well.Noise: The villas are such that two sleeping rooms adjoin the main room that has the couch and kitchenette. The sleeping rooms are separated by doors which can be locked as necessary to obtain the suite layout that is rented. Since we rented the King Villa, we had use of the main room. The adjoining room next to ours had a large gap between the door and the frame so it didn't seal out noise. We could hear the people next to us like they were right in the room with us. It was like trying to relax in a doctors waiting room. The people in the adjacent room weren't being exceptionally loud, the noise just came through too easily; I could clearly hear their normal conversations. If we could hear them so clearly, they could also hear us. Most of the 3 days we kept the door to the main room closed to maintain privacy in the sleeping room. This was sad since investing in the villa for relaxation was supposed to be a big part of our vacation. I called the first night and requested a different room, but they were booked up.

This place used to care about your health but now only cares about making money. It was a wonderful place when Mark Sorenson owned and ran it. His wife rode his coat trails and had ZERO depth to her character.Walkability: Breath taking walking places.Food & drinks: The food tastes good but very unhealthy.

I was looking for a wellness resort with all activities included, and the option to follow your own schedule. Also a place I would feel safe traveling to independently, as this was my first trip traveling alone. Red Mountain exceeded my expectations. I felt safe at the resort, the food was delicious with a lot of variety, and the staff were very friendly. I did not have the opportunity to plan the activities I was looking to do prior to the trip, and the staff really worked with me to make it all work out. There was a lot of variety of activities mixed with amenities if you didn't want to plan your day around pre-scheduled times....like a morning swim in the indoor heated pool 🙂. The resort engaged me physically...love the exercise class in the pool and walking around the labyrinth. Also on a personal discovery level as there was so many interesting classes I took. I would definitely love to go back for a longer time period

Tranquil, scenic, and full of adventure. This resort is an all-time favorite of mine. I make every moment count by taking part in the multiple offerings of the resort. The Spa!! It's an entire experience - fabulous. The Activity Center has wonderful classes to enjoy. The Dining Hall never disappoints- except I did miss the vegan breakfast meat options this year. Hiking trails surround the resort, so you can explore a new destination each day.Rooms: Although my time in the room is limited to bathroom and sleep time, the accommodations are nice. Huge tubs in case you want to take a bath. All the normal amenities. Each building of rooms is conveniently located to one of the many resort highlights.Safety: I feel very safe on the resort grounds and in the surrounding neighborhoods. It's very quiet and peaceful.Food & drinks: Every dish served is delightful. You can tell that the chef is meticulous and creative when considering the menu.

You can't beat the location. Unfortunately, we were given a room that was not used in a long time so there were thick layers of dust on the fan and the coffee pot was not operational. We came to the front desk to get coffee in the morning since ours was not working and the coffee station in the hotel reception didn't have water for the machine or creamer. The receptionist just told me to go to the restaurant, which I found incredibly frustrating after spending $350 on a villa that I was unable to simply get a coffee in the morning. The bathrooms were amazing! Our shower and tub was just wonderful, super hot and great pressure. We explored two out of the 3 pools and enjoyed walking the labyrinth at night for night star photography. The gym was really nice and I enjoyed trying slacklining. You also have the use of bikes to borrow to explore near by Snow Canyon State Park. I enjoyed using the hammocks mid morning under the trees.Overall a beautiful resort but we unfortunately didn't have the best experience with the hospitality.Rooms: The upstairs villas are not handicap accessible, no elevators.Nearby activities: Snow Canyon State Park, mountain biking

Not sure it’s worth the price. Average rooms. Average food. Didn’t do all the spa and yoga stuff so maybe that’s the draw. The 7am leaf blowing outside the room wasn’t all that conducive to rest and relaxation. Oh and one ice machine for the entire resort located at the entrance and far from most of the rooms? Wow

Stayed here two years ago and it was the most phenomenal experience. The food was amazing and the service was even better. Recently stayed and things certainly seemed to have gone downhill in two years. The food was mediocre. We didn’t have anyone clean our rooms in the 5 days we stayed there, we had to call several times just to be brought towels. When we checked in, they had given our room to someone from another party and then mistakenly given us the keys for that same room, only for our party to open the door to an occupied room. It’s a beautiful location; it just didn’t feel at all like the experience we had the last time we stayed. Very sad! :(

We enjoyed our stay. I think the things that really disappointed me were the lack of integrity with the rate and departmental cross training.. It started out at $300 room/$50 spa credit 3 months ago, then when I checked back a few weeks out, room only $150, then on some of the 3rd party sites within two days of arrival the room was $90 per night. It is the shoulder season, why start rates that high if you know you won't be busy and you are just going to lower the rate? And then the cancel policy is three days prior to arrival to avoid a penalty but, then resort drops the rate two days prior to arrival to a 3rd party who is getting a cut when it all could have gone to the resort. Makes me question the rate integrity! The staff was friendly but, when they could not answer a question or help us, it was just "sorry" or "no I don't have that" no urgency or taking it to the next level. Guest rooms are ok, beds small. The Spa facilities are basic (locker room tiny, 1 restroom, two showers and a steam room. No plunge, sauna or whirlpool), the therapist was great. The restaurant was great, I hear choices are not as "healthy" as in the past. Workout area nice with plenty of equipment. Pools are great. Nice they offer complimentary bikes. View from reception is beautiful. The facility is older but in a great location.

Just finished a week long stay. Love this place! The proximity to snow canyon is amazing! They offer lots of different classes like meditation and yoga. The pools are very nice and they have spa services as well. Sign up for stuff well in advance of your stay as things can fill up, esp at the spa. The food is okay, I found a good pizza place to go to called Rigattis. About an hour from Zion, so not to close, but it’s not a bad drive.

This is a beautiful place to stay .Tranquil, sometimes too quiet .My kids , hubby and I enjoyed the views and the huge pool for about an hour and then went on our way to explore other areas .Sad to see some of these reviews complaining about children. Please book adult only hotels if children bother you. This is a family friendly hotel with awesome staff and nobody likes a “Karen” anyway! 😂I’d like to add the room and bathroom was beautiful, comfortable and clean .Rooms: Clean

I wanted to leave a better review but some things just make a stay far less than pleasant. The resort allows kids but specifically states in the FAQ that it is a tranquil environment. There's signs at the pool for "quiet zone" but while I was there, screaming obnoxious kids ran the roost and the parents did not do a thing about it. I complained to the front desk but nothing was done even though their own policies were not being followed. I didn't come here to hear screaming kids taking over the pools. Also, I booked a "tax relief" package that included $50 spa credit. Upon checkout, I had to argue with the desk agent to get this applied. He tried to claim it was taken off the room rate. Not true and luckily I had my booking confirmation email to prove it. I shouldn't have to argue on something that was booked as a package, how does staff not know their own packages?! I read some other reviews re food not being great, so I booked a la carte and I'm so glad I did. There's some wonderful restaurants in St. George that are worth the visit. The views are amazing and the walking trails off the resort are great. Overall I will stick to adults only places from now on. Not worth the risk of ruining a peaceful environment and staff doing nothing about it.

First, I love Ivins, and Red Mountain Resort more than life itself. I'm a longtime world traveler, and this is my absolute Happy-Place. That said, I just returned from a one week stay (My sister and have visited twice a year, for many years). I'm sad that the new ownership (who purchased RMR last year) has so many changes planned for the area, including 600+ acres of land development, including unnecessary high-end shops, condos, restaurants, etc. Ivins is serene and majestic, and does not have the infrastructure, nor the desire (from the lovely people who actually live there) for upscale, crowded, city-type party living. I'm worried all this new building will completely ruin this slice of Heaven. Hope I'm not banned for life from RMR - but I have no problem telling the world that the immense greed of land developers is about to ruin this lovely town. I hope that a miracle keeps this wonderful resort quiet, peaceful, and respectful of the land that has graced us with immense beauty for billions of years. Finally, the staff at RMR is wonderful and unparalleled in their professionalism and kindness. Give them all raises, and keep them happy! :)

When looking for a place to stay with our dog around St. George, this place came up. It appeared to have everything we look for when traveling with a dog. While reviewing the room type options, I made sure to call ahead of time and ask them directly what rooms allowed dogs. I was told only ground floor rooms, which is actually our preference. It makes it easier to take the dog in and out, etc. We booked the "desert oasis" room as that room appeared to be dog friendly. Before arriving, we got an email asking us what time we expected to arrive, so I provided that + the request for a ground level floor. When we arrived to the property, it was actually stunning. Looked like little condo units, but I quickly said thank goodness we are getting a ground level floor, because having to take all of our luggage, big cooler, dog, etc. up the stairs would be a hassle. While checking in, I wasn't asked too much, so before she handed me the keys, I asked what room floor we were on as I requested ground level, and she said she had us at floor 3. So, I told her that I had requested ground floor via their email, plus I have a dog. She had to have a manager take over, as they were struggling to see where else they could put me. Finally they found a room, and I am always a little shocked to see when they put dogs in rooms that appear to be in high foot traffic areas. That said, we got to our room, and it was right next to the laundry room/ice maker. Again, for dog owners such as myself, that already tells me we are not going to have a peaceful experience. Upon opening the door, we were immediately disappointed. It was dark, dingy, and smelled a bit of mildew, and maybe previous dog's that had accidents. My husband said that this was below an example of lipstick on a pig. However, wanting to make the best of it, we moved everything in. I had a big cooler with microwavable items. We noticed that our room did not have a microwave, which may be something you expect at a Motel 6, but not a "resort." I had to call and let them know this was a big issue for us, and even asked for a room upgrade. They did not even want to entertain the option of a room upgrade, and said they'd see if maintenance could drop off an extra microwave, OR we'd have to go to the lobby and use their microwave. As it turned out, the laundry room NEXT DOOR had a microwave for us to use. It was disgusting, but it worked. We just wanted to move on and enjoy ourselves, only to find out that, our mini-fridge didn't work! It wasn't able to shut properly, seemed to have overheated, and frozen over. So, at this point we're the annoying guests calling front desk again asking for this to be replaced/fixed. The maintenance worker (who was super nice), did come and replace it, taking about another 30 minutes and having to keep our dog out of the room. At the end of that, the mini-fridge never even got cold enough for us to use, but thank goodness for the ice maker next door! The laundry room was supposed to be opened from 6am-10pm; but I can say that people were getting ice up until 1am (the walls were VERY thin). For a ~$200+ room a night, it was not very clean. The carpet was gross, the shower tiles had pink soap scrum all over, and there was splatter around the bathroom sinks that had been ignored. We had to keep the windows open just to get some fresh air. With the room tax and resort fee we were closer to $300 a night, which was absurd for what we got. I kept asking myself if this was just a room that they use for last resort? It was really disappointing. We did not sleep during our visit due to the noise from the laundry room and general foot traffic in that area. The best part of our stay was leaving. BUT, I will say I understand the attraction to visit, as they grounds were nice, and I cannot speak to the other offerings they have as we did not participate in them. I was really hoping this could be a place we would continue to visit in the future, but not for this price or the quality/comfort of the rooms.

My fiancé and I drove our kids to St. George for a weekend away from Vegas and this place was amazing. I’m usually scared of staying in hotels but this was super clean and nice. I loved how quiet it was there. The older lady working at the gift shop was so nice and sweet. We will definitely be staying here on our next St. George get away.

This is a lovely resort hotel with the rooms spread over several buildings around the ample grounds. Initially, even with the provided map, we found the layout difficult to navigate on foot and like others found ourselves crossing through garden rockery areas to reach the pool. Outdoor pool was a little on the small side but as it was quiet in June 2023 - off season for this resort - we were able to enjoy a quiet relaxing few hours at the pool. Didn’t get chance to try the restaurant as friends took us out for a meal. We will definitely come back, perhaps for long and make more of the activities on offer.Rooms: Room in Deer building was a little on the small side in comparison with similar resort hotels.Nearby activities: Right on the doorstep of Snow Canyon with red cliffs in view from most parts of the resort. Wanted to try bike hire but left it too late to book e-bikes.

I stayed here last weekend with my wife and 2 other family members. It was a really nice experience. The surrounding views are absolutely breath taking. The staff was all very friendly. The rooms were very clean, and beds/linens were super comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised when the front desk attendant notified me that they have complimentary S'mores making kits available to use at the outdoor fireplace. We didn't end up using them since it was rainy... but that was a really nice touch. I would definitely return and stay here again. Great rate for what you get here.
