Kodachrome Basin State Park is an amazing place. We took a side trip there before going to Zion and we are glad we did. Beautiful hikes and amazing views of the spires. You must visit.

Came here with the extended family to do a day of lite hiking with our two big dogs. The trails are very dog friendly, unlike the neighboring Bryce Canyon park. Be warned though of difficulty ratings if you have little kids, some of the trails have slightly tricky parts where it's harder for someone with a wonky sense of balance. Also, bathrooms were in excellent condition, lol.

Fantastic spot, $8 entry, amazing views and geology. Nice and quiet. And Willis Creek canyon nearby is definitely worth visiting

Off the beaten path! Hiking is awesome. Mountain biking is fantastic. Amazing shower building and another building where you can do laundry. The sites that I saw were very nice. Picnic tables and fire rings are in great shape. there is pavement the entire way. Only hit dirt road for a very short distance for the arches campground.

This is a tiny outpost for the campground but it is surprisingly well setup. The park rangers were super nice, they had cold drinks for cheap, a smashed penny machine, good bathrooms and free wifi! Really helpful to get reconnected when you need to or grab a cold gatorade.

This is a great park. While perhaps not as colorful as other areas in GSE, it still has plenty of color, excellent formations, and amazing spires. The spires are especially outstanding and are unique to this park. They range from 25 to 100 feet tall and are bright white, in contrast to the surrounding red-brown rock. The amenities here are also great.

This formation I'd at least 200 feet tall. 12 suite a sight. It was all well worth the $4.00 entrance fees.nicecyoung employees were working there as well.

Staff was awesome, super knowledgeable, helpful and accommodating. Scenery and night sky is fabulous. Check in was quick and efficient. We have a WeBoost antenna and were able to pickup AT&T. Occasional latency but it worked formessaging and voice calls. There was free WiFi available at the park visitor center as well as hand scooped ice cream. There is a great laundry and awesome showers. The magnificent and colorful rock formations at Kodachrome State Park Campground are so cool. This is a very unique place just for that. Great hiking over the "slick-rock" trails. The trails were easy to follow for the most part.Basin is a nice rustic campground. The sites are in good shape. Many are smallish, but there are a few that will accommodate a big rig. Getting around in the Basin campground is a bit tight for a big rig, but doable if you take your time. The other campgrounds in this park are not suitable for big rigs. We stayed in site K032 and had plenty of space. Campsite K032 was an asphalt-paved pull-thru with FHU's and a screen of bushes between the sites, so the site was completely self-contained and private. We camped at Kodachrome Basin State Park, October 2022, in a Travel Trailer. We will definitely be back.

This was the only visitercenter where we found an extensive billboard of the region with all the geological formations going from Capitol Reef towards Bryce Canyon. The park itself is also a real marvel and pristine. Well worth the small entrance fee.

Best camping experience ever! I've never seen a park bathroom as nice as theirs. Great Horseback riding setup right down from our camp; super guides with story telling all along the trek through the canyon hoodos. Night star gazing with full moon was amazing. I highly recommend this park!

Beautiful little park. The drive is pretty enough, but you have to take the time to get out and hike. The visiter center is small, but cute and informative. The roads, trails, and campsites are all well maintained.
