Stopped in here for a quick bite during a recent RV trip through the area. A burger shop attached to a gas station quick stop. The service was fast. Helpful and very courteous. The place was very clean keeping up with the big crowd that was there the wife and I showed up. Ordered the Hank burger and fries. The fries are a thicker fry and were cooked perfectly golden brown. The burger was okay. The bun, lettuce tomato and onion were very fresh. The burger itself was under seasoned and dry. Not the best burger I ever ate as the person in the store proclaimed but not the worst either. If you are looking for a quick bite when you are done off-roading or just come off the lake this place will hit the spot. Absolutely delicious burgers and shakes. I bet this place is packed in the summer because it’s one of the only places in town. In the off season it’s pretty relaxed and service is quick. Tons of solid flavors for their shakes as well! I don’t imagine parking would ever be an issue but I but the wait times for food go up when it’s busier.

Excellent stop to and from the powell/capital reef area.Great burgers (good flavor but a little on the onion-y side). It’s a greasy diner style but lots of options. We got the cheese and bacon and switched out the American cheese for Swiss.Shakes are super good but the large is LARGE (size of the paper in the cups) so don’t order that unless you are sharing and even then we didn’t finish it!Fries are 10/10. Double battered and crispy with good flavor. Loved them.Our friends got the wrap and really liked that too! They have salad and sandwich options and they will do stuff gluten free (lettuce wrapped) and dairy free if needed.

Where do you go after hiking all morning in #littlewildhorsecanyon you go to #hanksville and eat at #StansBurgerShak I took a minute to decide what I wanted, in the end I went with a combo meal. first I substituted the #FrenchFries for the #onionrings which were house made in the morning. They use a #Panko breading which is not my preference, I prefer beer batter, but the fresh homemade taste made up for the use of Panko. Of course it’s Utah so that means #FrySauce for dipping the crispy onion rings in, A nice complimentary flavor. The bun on the #doubleBaconCheeseBurger was especially nice. A lovely Brioche bun that didn’t fall apart! The Double Bacon Cheese Burger also included Two quarter pound burger patties with cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions, bacon, and burger sauce. It was very tasty. I also had a very yummy #mochaShake it was cold and refreshing. Handcrafted and made perfectly, a wonderful compliment to the rest of the meal. There was plenty of seating, with very fast service. Once ordered I had plenty to look at while waiting for my food which wasn’t much time. When traveling thru Hanksville or close by, I will definitely stop by Stan’s.

I don't write reviews often, but this experience was worthy of one. I ordered a double cheeseburger and a large cajun fry. I initially got a burger with nothing on it, just bun and meat, and curly fries. I went back up, explained to the lady that wasn't what I ordered, and she took it back. She came back out with a double cheeseburger but just two patties and a bun, nothing else on it, and curly fries AGAIN. Still not what I ordered. The burger had virtually no flavor and the fries were mediocre at best. I was anticipating good food after all these great reviews. Coming from Moonscape, I should have driven the extra half hour to Capitol Burger in Torrey, but wanted to try something new, and Hanksville was closer.

This was a major surprise on our visit to Capitol Reef National Park! As we went over Christmas vacation, literally almost everywhere was shut for the season. There was no good food in sight. I was expecting a typical rundown, gas station burger, but lo and behold an oasis in the desert! Phenomenal burgers, great accommodations, overall very good, clean place with great food

Good spot! We always stop here on the way to or from lake Powell.Prompt counter service, only a few minutes to get food.Burgers were warm not hot off the grill. Still tasty. Good fries and Shakes were amazing. Grilled cheese was not good.This place can get real busy during summer months, it is worth waiting! Will go back!

Great food, surprisingly fast service! We will be back! The shakes were great after a hot day!Update: We've eaten here several times over the past year. The food is great, but beware the goatheads/puncturevine! The thorns will get stuck in your shoes, sandals, feet, carpet, and pets' paws! Ouch! I got stabbed in the finger and my sandals got filled with goatheads. I pulled a few and put them in the trash, but there's more than I could handle during the 10 minutes before my shake was ready. Beware! Goatheads!

I make sure to stop at Stan’s any time I’m in the area. I usually order the garden burger. Very good veggie burger. Fries are good too and the shakes are thick and delicious.

In Hanksville, there are three proper restaurants (the others being Slickrock Grill and Outlaw's Roost). While I didn't try the others, the food at the Burger Shak was pretty good. Not eye-openingly great but given the location and menu offerings, a good option nonetheless.The turkey burger was well made and chicken strips were quite satisfactory. Their milkshakes are very, very thick (if you're expecting to sip with a straw while driving, ain't gonna happen). The premises were clean and spacious. What they could improve on is attention to detail on customer service. Our to-go order was given without any cutlery, napkins or condiments. Maybe it was all self-service but typically, they'd let you know. To-go beverages were without lids + overflowing. We had to wait a while to get their attention. So yeah, perhaps a bit rough around the edges but for a traveler looking for a decent meal, I was satisfied. PS: you could get regular beverages like sodas from the adjoining convenience store.

Always a stop while in this area. They have the best burgers in town for sure. I give them about a 7 or 8 on the scale of 10. Since there really isn't competition in that area, a 10. It is built into a gas station with friendly workers. A great place to make 1 stop for everything. About 10 minutes from these images.

Wonderful food, location, and service. When I first came here I was surprised by the quality. There is a large menu of burgers, shakes, and also the fish and chips meal (pictured). I highly recommend stopping here if you are headed to Goblin Valley, or even driving down to Lake Powell.

I don't eat a lot of burgers and fries, but when I do I really want them to be good. Stan's is really, really good. I acknowledge that hunger brought on by a full day of driving and hiking may have contributed to how much I enjoyed it, but it was still terrific. The menu is fairly extensive for a restaurant adjacent to a gas station, and the prices are higher than a typical fast food place, but this is not typical fast food. The burgers (and a fish sandwich) were fresh, the buns were soft yet substantial. The fries came out piping hot, and the shakes were amazing--sturdy enough to hold their shape over the rim of the cup. This place is surely a bit out of the way, but if you're in the area--partway between Goblin Valley and Natural Bridges--it's well worth a stop.

Oh YEAH! 😎 a full day of hiking 9 miles at the Natural Bridges National Park and we randomly stopped here for gas and had resigned ourselves to more nuts and jerky (😱).And then there was Stans!We shared the number one which was a burger (huge) shake (grasshopper!!) and fries for ten bucks!Hit the spot!Perfect size portions and great great flavors and staff was super friendly!Great stop 🛑!!
