I have honestly gone to roper lumber since I was a kid, we use to go in there just for free sodas from the soda fountain and playing with their little paint a room computer. After 15 years of living in east Texas with a Lowes and home Depot a short drive away I can honestly say I was more than pleased this week as I had to have an item special ordered AND then today when I went to pick it up I consulted with the store clerks about materials needed to hang a clothes line and they were extra helpful in making sure I got the right materials for the best priceI've missed the hometown feel and hospitality ropers offers, I get you may save a dollar here and there at Lowes or home Depot but I can run in and have someone help me in a flash at ropers where I spent almost 30 min just trying to find someone who then took another 15 minutes paging for the actual person in that department AND after 2 hours in the big store get home to realize i was still missing an essential part and had to go back--i definitely prefer roper lumber even if they did get rid of the soda pop fountain drink station 😘
