My experience here was just okay. I found the building to not be that well taken care of and a bit dirty. I thought the prices were quite steep at times and at other times I couldn't find the price tag at all. I appreciated the ability to walk with a shopping cart vs. A handheld basket and I had a good conversation with the cashier who was a very friendly gentleman. The parking area in the back seemed to be adequate and able to accommodate any size rig. I also noticed a small organic section which was nice.

This store was larger and ever so slightly less expensive than the other grocery store further down the road, but the selection was a bit more basic. If you’re looking for organic/natural or special diet (gluten free/ vegetarian/vegan) products they probably don’t have it (we didn’t see any), we had to get that at the other store. Staff was friendly but a bit odd. We were not greeted when we came in but instead given weird looks by the staff (I assume for being not from the area.) The check out girl didn’t even say “hi” or “how are you” to us, but she did ask us where we were from and continued to ask us about our trip. Very strange experience but worth a stop for some food staples.

Great store! Had the essentials and the staff were very friendly and conversational. The blackberries were especially delicious! I really appreciate the variety of produce and other items given the remoteness of the area.

small town grocery store, but they offer a wide selection of food/household items! some of their produce wasn’t the freshest and some of their prices were steep, but the few items we did purchase were not much more expensive than Kroger. :)

This is a small grocery store in a historic building in the downtown of a resort town. I was impressed with their selection. You may have to hunt around a little bit, but they probably have what you need.

Gas is a fair price and they have a decent size store inside. Restroom was very clean. They have a variety of snacks, apparel, drinks, and souvenirs at typical has station prices.

Nice little grocery stop in Escalante. Great spot to pick up some fire wood and produce while camping. Service was friendly.

Great little grocery store to pickup essentials while visiting Escalante. Stopped in twice, the staff is super friendly and there are plenty of goods on hand. I picked up some sandwich making supplies and delicious local potato salad!

It was so nice to see the staff in masks! What thoughtful people. The sign said they close in the middle of the day to sanitize. One of the staffers said it was because they have a lot of elderly shopping there and that the nearest hospital is over an hour and a half away. So great to see people caring about their community.

I greeted the staff but they didn’t even acknowledged it. One of the staff member followed me to all aisles and kept watching me as if I was going steal or something. Not sure if its because of I’m colored. Because many others entered to the store but she just kept stayed at my side.Anyways, wouldn’t recommend to anyone unless you’re white.

The 1% milk we bought was sour & completely disgusting. This store is small and quaint. The employees are very friendly. We loved the town but I’d be cautious with any dairy, meat or produce. I can’t give it more than 1 star due to the rotten milk.

kudos to you guys for allowing staff to have freedon of choice with wearing a mask. Im shocked at the mask crying on here. Shocked since august 2022 Vovid vaccinated people had the highest deaths. The total ignorance that our government and Pharma actually care about us is mind blowing. I thank you for allowing CHOICE. my bet is in 5 hes the mask wearers are going to suffer from health repercussions that are irreversible. I will be in Escalante for 1 month soon and looking forward to visiting the store.If you are that afraid- stay home!

This place is wonderful. The owner is a fantastic man that is sincerly kind. The store has pretty much EVERYTHING you could need or want. Its pretty surprising that such a small town has such a complete grocery store. I think all the fruits and vegtables are from local folks. Very small selection but amazingly fresh.

Great little grocery store. Super surprised how good the prices were for a small town. Selection was far beyond what I would have expected. The tech with checking out is about 40 years outdated so expect it to take some time to check out. They do not have a bathroom for customers

Great little grocery store with a lot of supplies. They have all the basics with a nice selection of produce and dry goods. Staff is incredibly nice and very friendly. In such a small town it's a pleasure to visit such a great place..

Small but comprehensive small-town grocery store. Prices are a bit high vs in-town but understandable given the location. Only con in my book is the early close hours which mean you have to get back to town from the canyons well before daylight peters out.

A little market is exactly what this store was. Staff was friendly, but the shelves were fairly bare. I was looking for hamburger, didn't find anything fresh. And the buns on the shelf were still slightly frozen. Where do the locals shop around this area?

It reminded me of the grocery store I went to when I was a kid, in a great way. Many locally sourced items and the employees were friendly and helpful. It was a perfect stop to refill groceries on our RV trip between Bryce and Capitol Reef.

For Cyclists: This is a GREAT place to stock up on food supplies when passing through Escalante. My team was able to pick up powdered mashed potatoes, tortillas, crackers, and some fresh veggies at affordable prices. This was the last grocery store we saw for 2 days heading East. There’s also a park behind the store where you can enjoy a shaded lunch.

Not a single employee was wearing a mask. The act of wearing a mask is simple and painless, and shows respect to others. It shows that you care about the health of others. I felt utterly disrespected at this store due to the lack of masks. In addition, we bought a bag of grapefruits, and half of them were moldy.

Bad selection and I was charged $20+ for an ATM fee but I didn't ask for cash back or anything my $115 in groceries after excessive tax and hidden fees turned into $150 not worth it. Had I know about the hidden fees I would have drove a little farther to a decent grocery store.

Great selection. The prices are pretty decent for a rural store. Basically has most groceries, including deli, produce, frozen goods, breakfast breads, etc. the whole spread.

The people there are very nice and the price are not bad. I was only in the area a few days on a job a few miles away but if I was there longer I'd shop there when I needed something.
