One of the best guided fly fishing experiences I’ve had. I got off of the water with the owner a few hours ago. I had a great day, and it wasn’t just because of the fishing. The stream he picked was one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. HisKnowledge if the area was in depth and ran well beyond fishing. I enjoyed every interaction, and he put significant effort into the day. I will happily book again.

Had an absolutely delicious pizza here after exploring Grand Staircase Escalante NM. Service was excellent — took great care of us as we waited for a table inside. Very happy to see a small liquor store with beer, wine and liquor available to buy and take home. Inside seating is limited, but the food is absolutely worth the wait. Wish we had come here last night too!!

We stayed two nights in the cabins. Escalante Outfitters is an absolute gem. The cabins are simple, but beds are comfortable, the place is quiet, and the shared bathrooms and laundry are super clean. Staff was super helpful, and there are some nice shared outdoor spaces to meet other travelers. Oh, and the pizza is great! Wholeheartedly recommended!

I spent one night in one of their quaint cabins and wished I could’ve spent the whole weekend! The price was an absolute steal. Though the cabin was small and basic, the bed was super comfortable and the bedding was high quality. The little heater was more than sufficient and there were plenty of plugin options on the nightstands. I didn’t want to get out of bed in the morning! The bathrooms were clean, close and easily accessible. While I didn’t eat at the restaurant I definitely appreciated the delicious coffee shop, and the super cute outdoor store. I’d go out of my way to stay here again!l

Beware the egg pie! I hate to leave a poor review, because the place was cool and barista very nice.But…I had one of the bacon and cheese egg pies and wound up blowing liquid fire out my butt all day down the Burr Trail. Not fun.Not sure if the egg pie was fresh or day old, but you’ve been warned.

I need to communicate that this is the best pizza you've likely ever had. Perfect crust (sourdough), FRESH ingredients. The coffee and breakfast items (lemon blueberry scones, frittatas) were absolutely delicious. Everything is made in house; desserts too. The food here was so good that it made me emotional, lol. We ate here for every meal during our 3 days in Escalante. AND they served us during intermittent power outages in bad weather. They even helped us look up road closures before we left. Fabulous food and even greater people at this spot. <3

Staying in Escalante for a few days, and happened upon Escalante Outfitters. After a long drive from AZ, we were thrilled to find a local place with fantastic pizza and draft beer. We're definitely going back to shop the well-outfitted store and have dinner again!Food & drinks: Pizza is fantastic!

Reviewing specifically for the pizza -- one of the best pies I've ever had, period. It was cooked perfectly and the flavors were amazing. Excellent crust that was both crispy and chewy, topped with great ingredients (pesto, cheese, capicola, veggies -- all so GOOD!). All around one of the best meals I've had in a long time. If you're in the area, this is worth checking out. Great beer options, too. Outdoor seating is cozy with crickets chirping and desert stars.

I took my daughter for a motorcycle ride on hwy 12, and we stayed here. We absolutely loved it. Wonderful cozy cabin, outstanding pizza, and a good selection of local beers. We also had breakfast there before heading off in the morning. It is definitely on my list of places to return. Staff were friendly and pleasant, I highly recommend to anyone in the area.Food & drinks: Some of the best pizza I've ever had.

Stopped in the cafe later in the evening after hiking at Capitol Reef. The Chop Rock pizza is top notch! Great atmosphere, chill spot to hang out after a day of hiking. Highly recommend the cafe if you're in the area!

Amazing, amazing food. We ordered pizza and green salads and both were among the best my husband and I have ever eaten. And then there were Bridgette's lemon bars...if I didn't love my husband so much, I might leave him and marry her just to be close to her baked goods. Really. My husband agreed they were the best he'd ever eaten.If you love pizza, fresh salads or divine baked goods, you'll want to stop here. (P.S. - Bridgette, my sincere apologies if I spelled your name wrong. Also, if things ever go south with my husband, will you marry me and bake lemon bars on Sundays?)Walkability: Right in the center of town. Quick walk from the Country Cowboy Inn.Food & drinks: Amazing food. First place to grab a cup of good coffee in the morning. (Opens 8 am)

We loved our stay here! We loved the cabins and the bathrooms were clean and nice. Mattress was super comfy and we were warm through the rainy spring night. Everything was cozy and exactly what we needed. A one-stop-shop!! Great store with clothes and hiking/climbing/backpacking supplies too. Yummy breakfast and dinner food, desserts and beer.

Wow. Only customer in store, pull up out front and they gotta tell from my dirty old bike and all my gear that I’m not from here. I walk in, look around and find that the cafe is down at one end so I head there. No one comes over to take my order (I am the only customer with 6 employees I have seen). I am assuming that the old lady and three sales gals I saw only work the retail side so I wait 7 Minutes studying the menu and still nothing. An old guy walks in (a local) and starts looking in their refrigerated desert glass and so I go to the cook/server window and ask how I can get help at the cafe… “someone will be there” he says. As I return back to wait to my complete surprise the old lady up front at the retail side also runs the counter… she doesn’t acknowledge me and goes to help the local old man with figuring out what cake he wants!!!! I patiently wait (annoyed that no one has even asked to help me or say hello) and this is dragging on.Now I see a lady who looks like a manager come over and I am literally leaning on the counter waiting for someone to get over here and help…. She comes over, passes right by me without a word and guess what, she goes around the counter and grabs a drink out of a cooler and walks right past me again and says nothing…. As I leave another employee is standing at the door and I told her I just stood there and not one person helped…Oh, did I mention it wasn’t busy??? The old lady who should have helped me was telling the old man how she was bored out of her mind…I used to love coming to little towns cause it reminded me of the old days where kindness mattered and customer service was still a thing…

They may be known for AMAZING pizza, but don’t pass over the sandwiches or salads!! The slickrock is my all time favorite but be sure to check the board because the chef special is usually pretty killer too!! For pizza, we live the Kings Mesa for the all meat version but the Chop Rock is rad too. Just stop in and try it, you’ll be glad you did. Plus, they have cabins, a pro shop, guides, desserts and more.

Such a wonderful surprise this place was! Not only do they have exceptionally fresh and delicious food, but they are also incredibly kind and hospitable folks! We came back all 3 days of our stay. Even with our large group of 11, they were always welcoming. They also have super delicious coffee and an outdoor gear shop to browse. I bought a pack and love it!

The atmosphere is really great and full of character. It's full of a fine gift shop with actual useful Atlases And "gee wiz" collection type of Intel. This place like most down south attracts all types of different people. Really a nice vibe going on.The food is not cheap by any means, but it is quality and the portions are generous!It was fairly clean, with how busy it was the I can understand why the tables weren't spotless. At least the silver ware wasWe waited for about an hour for 4 sandwiches and a salad to arrive at our table.Friendly service as well.

This place is a welcome respite from being on the road and camping. Serving up some of the most delicious pizza we’ve ever had, we were thrilled! They also offer gluten free crust, that is crispy and so tasty. The store is well stocked with very nice outdoor gear and the ambiance is lovely. The staff is super nice and welcoming. We wouldn’t hesitate to stop in again if we’re ever in the area in the future.
