Stayed here many times over the decades. Great view of lake and dam from the lakeside sites( or a short walk from rest of campground) . Has showers and a boat ramp. The manager warned us of people stealing your ticket from your campsite designation post to get you kicked out so they can take your campsite if its better than theirs, also some fishing guides will do it also to get premium sites for their clients. So make friends with the management so they know you and where and how long your staying. Other than that its a great place

We stayed here for 4 days and I loved it. The camp sites are exclusive and all the trees help with privacy. It's a big place. I wish they had camps closer to the water but maybe there is a reason they don't. Either way, we're coming back!

Mustang Ridge has great campgrounds and is really close to a great beach. They had nice campsites and plenty of parking for multiple cars and a boat. The bathrooms were the only real downside with tons of flies which seems like a problem that could be improved with fly paper or some other solution.A great price, and showers are available!

This place is beautiful and I love that it's close to the water. The campgrounds are clean and well maintained. The down side is there are a lot of people and they only have one flush toilet bathroom/showers serving tons of camp sites. They have other vault and pit toilets which work but aren't as nice and clean. Management seemed nice to me. Loved all the greenery and trees as that we could walk to the water. Overall we really enjoyed our stay here!

I've been going to this place for years and love it every TIME! Every camp spot has a picnick bench, fire pit and flat spots for tents. Plenty of trees and the water is walking distance. Each time I've camped here, I have always pulled rainbow trout out. Always great fishing. The views are spectacular and peaceful, you'll relax away the city for sure. It also has running water, bathrooms and showers. Additionally there are a couple stores within a couple miles if you need some ice or bait or beer. Dog friendly as well.

Been coming here my whole life, and it's changed over the years, but I love it. I always have a great time and look forward to coming back. It's reasonable driving distance (about 6k exactly, accordo to my running GPS) from the nearest gas station, and just a stone's throw from the dock, cliffs, and swimming area.I definitely recommend it.

Yearly around 4th of July, our extended family all meet at Mustang Ridge Campground for a camping reunion. We love Flaming Gorge, and the time that we stay here. This year was a little disappointing to find that many of the sites had been changed to reservation sites, which were not available in January, when we went to reserve a spot; so figured we would just try to get into a walk in spot with our large family. The frustrating thing about all the extra reserved spots, is that they are often left empty. No one can use them, even if they have not been reserved. This makes no sense, when there is such a need for campsites, especially over the 4th of July. We were told that in order to reserve any of these sites, you had to reserve 4 days in advance, and the camp hosts have nothing to do with the reservations. Sure seems like there might be a better reservation system, that the camp hosts could be a little more involved, so that these sites don’t sit empty. Seems like a lose, lose situation. The showers are wonderful, and I’m sure they contribute to higher cost of the campground. However, this year, the showers were only open from 10 am to 5 pm. I guess they didn’t want any campers to shower, as these are the hours that everyone is boating, rafting, swimming, etc. Not sure if this shower schedule was due to Covid-19 or if they were short staffed. This was very frustrating not to be able to have a shower during our week of camping, due to limited hours of availability. We love Mustang Ridge, but will only give 3 stars this year due to these issues. We hope that a huge effort will be made to improve on these things, so that we can once again thoroughly enjoy this beautiful place.

Large campground with good clean facilities. It has a large restroom with flushing toilets and hot showers. It was full when I went up so I didn't have to do that a lot of choices in sites but I found a site with enough tent pads for my large tent. The water at the spigots were cold and refreshing.

Great place to have group site events and is fairly well kept. Some of the bathrooms were a little dirty but that is to be expected. We come every year for a family vacation and it never disappoints. Close to cliffs for cliff jumping too!

Spacious campground with lots of trees for privacy. Several sites back into the reservoir. Ours had a nice "backyard" and great view.

Showers are good. Proximity to lake and other recreation activities is good. Pit toilets are very old and need to be replaced. Would be better with concrete under picnic tables instead of dirt.

Such a great campground. Can get crowded and a bit wild, but it's such a great location with easy access to the lake for swimming and sun bathing.

The campground looked like it was well maintained but the camp host Kenny was rude and harassing my family and I about issues that we didn’t cause. Kept yelling at us for not having our dog on a proper leash when kennys family did not have their dog on a leash at all. The bathrooms were disgusting and had poop all over the walls. His grandkids kept washing in the water from the spiket when the sign clearly said not to. Kenny also accused us of almost burning down the campground because he found a burnt plate in the grass and we hadn’t had a fire for three days. He threatened to kick us out of the campsite we were in and would not allow us to stay in any site that our families were in. I am very cautious of any fires that I build and make sure that every last piece of wood is burnt and extinguished before leaving the fire place. I also make sure to pick up any and all trash wether it is mine or someone else’s. His family also was dumping their grey water into the swimming whole. His grandkids also kept breaking all of the camp rules that he was supposedly enforcing. I would not suggest staying there if Kenny is the camp host. My family and I do not plan to return if he is still there acting like he is doing his job but not enforcing it with his own family.

We stayed at site 70. Plenty of room for 9 of us in 3 tents as well as room for games. We brought a landscape rake to flatten out the unofficial tent footprints. The fire ring worked really well and is pretty big.

Went to Mustang Ridge campground at Flaming Gorge UT from 07/09/17 to 07/11/17. Upon arriving noticed that the sites with the "R" designation could be reserved online. We attempted to reserve an open site by going to the webpage shown at the camp ground. We found out that reservation must be made 2 days in advance so we tried to talk to campground manager "Kenny". Kenny said we couldn't use the site because it must me done online. We explained the online booking issue and showed him that the site was open until 07/12/17. Kenny then said that he wasn't familiar with the website (posted at the campground) that we were using and we couldn't stay at the unreserved site. He did find us one next to the bathroom, the site smelled like sewage. Another guest offered the use of a site that she reserved because she wasn't going to use it. She contacted Kenny and cleared this with him. After we set up 2 tents and unloaded our gear, Kenny showed up and told us that we would have to move because we couldn't stay at a site with an "R" designation. We explained to him that the site was already paid for and walked him over to the lady that let us use it. He then became upset and said that this wasn't allowed because it was stealing. That's when I became upset and the conversation became heated. I explained that I did not appreciate being called a thief and I didn't like the way he was hounding us. Kenny even threatened to call his manager, which I welcomed because Kenny was being intentionally obtuse and not listing to reason. Once he saw that we would not back down, he backed off and even took back his statement about us stealing. I would also like to note that the male restrooms had poop all over both toilets for the entire stay. Maybe Kenny should worry about the upkeep and not hassle guests so much.

We pulled in at 7:30 at night into a reservable site that was not reserved. The host asked us to move our trailer at 8:30 at night because it was not a first come first serve site (did I mention that no one had reserved the site??) We told him that we were pulling-out at first light , but he wanted us in a walk-in site.

Campsites were too crowded and there's next to no grass if you tent camp. Close proximity to the lake but a bit expensive at 25 bucks a night. Stay away from Dutch John general stores, they have no meat and I didn't see one bag of marshmallows there. They were selling 10 pound bags of ice for 22 bucks! Drive to the gorge resort for supplies and food.

This is a hidden little gem. The dry camping here is one of the best site's we've ever stayed and better than most full service rv parks. All paved pads, lots of shade trees, next to a beautiful Lake & it is very quiet.

Will not be going back. Noisy, never been in a campground where generators run all night long. Kids screaming until 11pm. And this was on a Monday night...can't imagined what the weekend would be like. Never saw camp hosts.

Ridgeline views are unbeatable...However, as others have noted, can be crowded and hence, the bathrooms can be dirtier than most.
