This review is for the restaurant. We came up to see Santa and the Grinch. We put our name in knowing it was busy. The wait was 40-45 minutes. We were seated after about an hour. We ordered a Navajo taco, French dip, soup of the day, and Mac n cheese. After getting our order taken we waited for nearly an hour for our food. Out waitress never once came to check on us for that hour.

Fun place. It has a restaurant which is delicious and it is very close to the green river and flaming gorge. It has a fishing guide service which is really helpful. The huge trout are a dry fly and exploded on the surface which was awesome to watchNearby activities: Flaming gorge is not too far from the resort and they have boat rentals, and a fishing guide service. They also have a small gift shop inside.Food & drinks: The food at the resort is great! Wings are highly recommended!Noteworthy details: Fishing service is great! In the summer it’s busy but they will put you on fish

We went to the restaurant for dinner. Made reservations the day before. They were ready to seat us right on time. As we ordered our food we got several comments, we are out of that. After ordering it took 20 minutes for our drinks to come. Two of the drinks the waitress said, they ran out of it. She walked off without offering any alternative. Ten minutes later she came back with the drinks. After being seated for 47 minutes she brought out some of the food. Half the food was cold especially the fries. We had to flag down the waitress twice because she failed to bring out all the orders. By the time we had received all our order we had been there an hour and five minutes. What could have been a great experience was missed by a waitress that seemed not to care about her job. No apologies given, no updates on progress.

Excellent stay! We showed up in the middle of a snow storm and our initial accommodations didn’t have heat! Thankfully we were able to secure a room at the Flaming Gorge Resort and it was fantastic! The heat worked(!!!), the room was extremely clean and updated, and Jennifer at the front desk was wonderful. The pillows were soft, bed was comfortable, and the restaurant had a good selection of food.I would stay here again in a heartbeat! Thank you for the warm hospitality and 10/10 rooms!

Review is for raft rentals and restaurant. We initially rented a two person kayak without a reservation, but it started to deflate as we were getting ready at the spillway. We gave them a call and they were apologetic and immediately brought us another raft. Thank you for that.As for the restaurant, the food was good and the service was excellent. We would dine here again. I got the grilled cheese and it was cheesy, with 3 different cheeses.

We just stopped at Flaming Gorge Resort Restaurant and the experience was awful. We were ordering food to go as the restaurant was closing and they asked us to go even when we were just waiting for our food. We felt once we arrived the servers and people at the store weren't friendly. Even the server was in the "wait to be seated" area just gave us one menu when there were 5 of us. This is the last time we are going to try to eat here, and I wouldn't recommend to anybody to be in this place where they don't take care of the customers.

We stopped here out of necessity because of a terrible snow storm while traveling south in Utah on Hwy 191. No way we could make it to Vernal. We were so relieved to find Flaming Gorge Resort in the middle of nowhere. We had no reservation, but we were welcomed with outstanding customer service. The room was comfortable, clean, and well-appointed. The fireplace was a lovely inclusion. It was very affordable and so very quiet. The next morning, we ordered breakfast in the on-site restaurant. The staff was cheery, conversational, and helpful. Other guests delighted us with warm, pleasant conversation. We discovered Flaming Gorge Resort by accident, but we will return for an intentional vacation/visit in the future.

This year Thanksgiving happened to be the anniversary of my Mom's passing. I felt the need to get away and spent 4 nights at the resort while fishing each day on the Green River. It was perfect. I found the solitude and time alone I needed on the river and the food, the service and our suite were fantastic. We caught great fish with the flies recommended at the fly shop, our meals were delicious and affordable and there were plenty of smiles and helpful advice from the staff. Can't wait to do it again.

Booked room 311 for the first week in september months in advance. Room is good. Lodge looks nice. Wifi does not work. Restaurant staff does not answer phone. Placed an order online several times, kitchen staff kept cancelling order. Having dinner reservations included with room reservations seems to be standard practice at quality establishments. Having a view of a trailer park across the lawn seems to sum this up pretty accurately. The reason we chose this place was for convenient access to the restaurant. Both myself and my wife are severely disappointed in our choice to spend this weekend here. Calling the front desk to report these issues does nothing as they also do not answer. We have stayed at lodges not far from here in Wyoming that were priced $150 per night less that had 10x the service. We definitely will return to staying at dutch john lodge every time we are at the flaming gorge, thankfully we only booked a couple nights here and not our two week vacation coming up. I would be asking for a refund if I could get the management to answer or respond to voicemails.

Our family stayed at the resort in the past and we returned for a two night stay. We were told we would have to change rooms after our first night to accommodate another reservation. Frustrating, with three kids and all our things to unpack for a night, repack and move rooms. We were thinking for the switch, we would have some sort of quick turn around. Not a chance! We had to check out of our room at 11am and check into the new room at 4pm. We had to pack our entire car back up and drive around until 4pm. It was less than ideal and on out check out day we had two knocks on the door by staff reminding us of our checkout time (8:30am and 10am) at 11am. A little rushed to get us out, but definitely not to get us back into a room.

This restaurant has always been one of my family’s favorites and our visit on July 3rd definitely would’ve kept it that way and I give our experience, deliciousness of breakfast, and our service by Amber a 5!!! But sadly today when we arrived for lunch, unknowingly, thinking they served breakfast all day- that all being understandable- our service was the absolute worst. And now my 5 stars dropped to 2 :( the server was obviously put off by my better half ordering breakfast, remarking “the menu obviously says lunch” (he hadn’t even looked at the menu since he knew what he wanted) again, no biggie. But the sheer fact that we waited 20 minutes on beverages, which never arrived, when I asked the hostess if we could get another server, ours seemed busy with a larger party, the remark I received astonished me “She’s getting your drinks started, I’m sure you can wait another 5 minutes.” At that moment I was done. Packed up my 7 and 2 year old and bf and walked out. I have never been so angry with a server and hostess both at a restaurant. I get it the server was banging on the “big” tip from the larger party, unbeknownst that we had wanted to give our server $100 cash tip for working on Independence Day. All I know is the server at Legal Tender in Evanston, WY was very thrilled and appreciative.

I had heard of the amazing Green River in Dutch John, UT and wanted to surprise my husband for our first wedding anniversary. I booked a two night stay plus a fully guided day fishing trip after searching the internet for a place that would fill our needs. I was more than impressed by the fly shop, the lodging, the guide service and the restaurant. Everyone was so very kind and helpful and the food was amazing. We will definitely be back!!!

Longest wait time with poorly managed expectations & pretty disappointing service to make up for it. When we showed up for dinner (party of three) we were told a 45 minute wait, though at the time there were plenty of open tables. Checked back in after 45 min, was told at least 20 min. more. We were not seated until waiting an hour and a half. Fresh rolls & jam delivered (thank god), orders were taken pretty quickly, but food did not arrive until an hour later with almost no check-ins from our waitress until then. I ordered sangria that wasn't delivered until 40 minutes later because the waitress simply forgot while tending to more important tables, and it wasn't good - I watched her make the drink and it was 90% a combination of various soda-dispensed 'juices' & sprite. Definitely not worth $10. When the food FINALLY arrived it was good ... needed salt, that's ok. But in the entire time we waited there was NO ask if we wanted extra rolls, a different appetizer, anything. Two gentlemen next to us endured the same. One of them actually got up and purchased ice cream from the little store next door and brought it back to their tables to eat while waiting. Our whole experience was an unhappy waste of 3 hours of our evening that we could've spent doing other things. It's very unfortunate they can get away with this because they're the only option around. I'm not excited to come back, though, and I think my family will not plan on it, but instead we will bring our own food to cook inside our room.

I always try to find something positive to say, however, this time I cannot. We came here a few years ago and it was FANTASTIC. We were so excited to come back, but to say this was subpar would be an understatement, it was completely inedible. I ordered the steak and it was entirely overcooked and like attempting to eat shoe leather - the beef jerky we are on the way up was more tender than this steak. I attempted to eat it anyways but only managed FOUR BITES and could not try to eat any more. The restaurant credited $6 on a $32 steak for a completely uneaten steak. I didn't expect to be blown away but this was ridiculous. The service was meh, no drink refills were offered and the server never came back after we were served. We won't be eating there again, I'd rather drive to Vernal to eat.

Excellent place for a family getaway. We stayed in the newly remodeled family condos and were extremely impressed with the cleanliness and decor. Very comfortable layout. Restaurant was excellent and a good place to wind down after a day on the river. Raft rentals were a great value and shuttle service worked perfectly! The fly shop employees were extremely helpful and readily shared information to help us have an amazing trip!

We were camping in the area and got lazy so we decided to eat out rather than cook. We were pleasantly surprised with how good the food was. All 4 in our party ordered something different and really enjoyed it, enough that we came back for breakfast the next day, which was wonderful as well. 2 weeks later we came back camping with a large group and came in for breakfast again. Everyone said they enjoyed their food. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We also loved the store, it had good fishing supplies and a few staples that we forgot. We will definitely be back!

Our experience was quite good. I daresay our 3 days here was a bargain for the price we paid. It’s not luxurious, but it’s not meant to be. The motel room was clean and comfortable. The food and service at the restaurant was excellent. The fly shop/country store has everything you need.

Camped in the RV full hookup section, which was very good. But, the reason for the review is to say that on a guided drift boat fishing trip down the Green River, through the resort, I had a chance to fish with Bennie, who really knows how to put you over the fish. Really enjoyed his sense of humor and many years of experience as a guide. Great fish stories and I caught a lot of fish. I'd love to go back and do it again next year.

Clean, functional, convenient. I'm always slightly worried about cleanliness when staying at older places but our room was impeccably clean and the mattresses appeared to be new (I always check mattresses). The restaurant has a limited menu and the food is pretty basic but perfectly acceptable considering the location. I slept well during my stay and it was very quiet. One word of warning for winter travelers, the restaurant and store close really early and there's really nowhere else reliable to eat in town, so check their hours and show up early if you plan to buy dinner.

Have been going here for years and was so pleased to find they had completely remodeled the rooms we stay in. Great job FG Resort. The rooms are clean, great colors, bathroom, etc. It makes coming a lot better so great decision to update. The restaurant was great, shop was great and views spectacular. You’ll probably see me more often. Thanks for all of the great effort to make this nice.

The establishment is beautiful and the servers were pleasant. Although when it comes to the pricing it outrageously expensive All I wanted was a simple bacon cheeseburger, no bun, no fries. Just a plain patty, bacon, cheese and pickles and they charged 13.99, when I asked the server about this she graciously said she would speak to her manager which in turn said that is the price. Now I should have asked first and didn't therefore I paid the price but I won't be back.

We stayed in the single story rooms which, as mentioned in other reviews, are dated but clean. Nice shower pressure. No A/C, but it was cool enough in the evening that the room cooled down. We were there in June so not sure how August will be. A small refrigerator and microwave would have been nice to have; as it was we just stuck to our ice chest and paid for the ice in the store. (No ice machine either.) The restaurant was convenient and the food was excellent as was the service especially since we were there during COVID timeframe. I'd stay again.

Just returned home from a week at the resort. FGR set us up at the Pines RV park which is green and clean...very nice. I could not believe the fly shop there ...top notch...They also booked us a two day guided trip fishing both the river and lake. Could not ask for a better guide in BHodges. I read where some reviewers complain about pricing. Maybe a tad bit very good and the staff there very nice and helpful. I will be returning next year and try the lodge

Have always wanted to do a guided fishing trip on the green river, and has chance would have it, I was able to have my 79 year old father accompany me. I was fortunate to get hooked up with Cody Banks as a guide ! Cody was amazingly accommodating to our every need and made it the most enjoyable day that a father and son could experience. Hats off to the other guides and fishermen on that river that showed true sportsmanship and etiquette. Lodging and food were spot on ! ( Try the Salmon 👍)…Thanks for a memory that will last forever !

This RV park is a wonderful place to spend some time. Many of the sites have ample space between each site and offer great views of the surrounding countryside. Most of the spaces are nestled in trees that offer shade, atmosphere but likely won’t severely block dish signal. Some of the spaces are a small challenge to back into so if you are not comfortable with that activity, be clear that you need easy access when reserving. We have full hookups and Wi-Fi is very strong for being in such a remote setting. The staff was pleasant to deal with upon check-in and when interacting throughout the park. There is a great deal of green space for activities and it offers a great atmosphere amongst the pine and aspen trees. Dogs must be on leash as is in most parks but there is national forest property next to the park and dogs can run off leash until they drop if so desired. Lots of trails and other outdoor activities here too. We highly recommend this park for your next getaway.
