I have hunted with SD Outfitters 2 years in a row now and I can’t recommend them enough. I have hunted mule deer and elk with them and have seen great success with both. Their Utah and Colorado ranches are both spectacular but most importantly all the people involved are great people. The owners and all the guides are hard working and very enjoyable to be around. My husband and i went to the utah ranch to hunt elk. We arrived and the guides and the chef was there to great us. The owner shane and johnny were there as well. We turned around the corner and a beautiful cabin sat waiting for us. We unloaded or stuff and the fun began. The staff and lodging was amazing. SD OUTFITTERS did make a dream hunt come true. My husband got a very nice bull and couldn’t be happier. Thanks yall for making our dreams come true and letting me come along for the fun!!

My husband and I hunted with SD OUTFITTERS on 2021. We had the most amazing experience. The brand new lodge was absolutely beautiful. But the hunting was even better which was hard to beat on there new lodge. The food was 5 star as well as the guides and the all around experience. First time hunter and SD Outfitters made this a very memorable experience! This was real trophy hunting. My father has hunted for 35 years and the elk I shot was twice the size of his biggest elk! Will definitely be coming back!

I just finished a hunt at SD Outfitters and would most definitely avoid this place. It is not what they claim, are dishonest about it and the requirements to hunt.We were expecting a fair hunt operation, because we asked multiple times, including face to face whether this was a high fence hunt. Every time the owner said no.When we arrive we find out we need to agree, signed and dated, to pay $1,700 minimum in tips. The owner later claimed this was a suggestion.We were ushered out shortly after we arrived to hunt the evening, taking off in side by sides, and head up the road from the cabin. There we passed a 10ft gate and saw the fence. Within 30 minutes 3 elk were down, including 2 over 400. The largest walked into a clearing despite the atv’s both just passing and still coming. The 2nd was mine. We drove up a hill and saw it standing in the brush. We got out, talked about it, moved a bit, and agreed on a price. The elk never moved and was shot from 30 yards away. It turned out this one also had an infection that poured out when opened. It was gross.Bottom line, this place is a sham. They charge $8,900 to shoot farm raised elk (every one was ear tagged) and then try to either sell a small elk, without a discount, or up sell for a larger one.When we questioned why what we were seeing isn’t what we were told, the owner, Shane, immediately got upset and confrontational, telling us to leave if we didn’t like it.On top of that, they charge a $688 “State License Fee, which UDWR says isn’t necessary.This place is one to avoid, the owner is rude and dishonest. There are better places to spend your money, and better people to spend it with.

I had only gone hunting about 3 times before I went to SD Outfitters, my buddies convinced me to come with them and I have a whole new outlook on hunting because of this place. They gave me such a great experience and helped me out a ton. Great people, great experience, and even better service. Would recommend this this place to everyone and anyone.

Man you should’ve seen the bull that Nate and John helped me track down! Biggest one I’ve ever seen, they were as pumped as I was. I’ve been to nearly 25 different ranches and been guided on many hunts, this one by far out does the rest of them. Recommend to anyone looking for a guaranteed kill, but a fun hunt to go with it.
