They have been grooming my difficult puppy for months now and they are so so patient with him and me. It has always been such a good experience! I would definitely recommend these guys for your grooming needs!

Terrible experience. They completely shaved my dog. They said his hair was matted which wasn’t, all they had to do was bathe him and brush him. I specifically told them to be careful with his paws because he’s very sensitive with them and the lady still went ahead and cut the hair on his paws very short to the point where my dog started biting her WHEN I TOLD HER WHAT THE SITUATION WAS WITH HIS PAWS. He has wounds all over but on his neck and ear are very bad. I would have rather them call me and tell me that they did their best to groom him until he became difficult rather than have my dog go through all of that. He is now traumatized and very shy, he’s been hiding and doesn’t even want to get in the car. This is so unacceptable. I will not be bringing nor buying from petco anymore.

The groomer cut my dog’s ear. The manager called to tell me my dog “was perfectly fine” but was being transported to an emergency vet hospital 25 minutes away. My dog had to have a full surgery to repair the damage. Petco said I didn’t need to worry about the cost of the groom or the vet bill. Really?!? How about offering me a gift card so I can buy treats and toys to distract my dog while she heals in a cone and hood for the next 14 days? This is so unfair to her and a total inconvenience for our family who had plans to travel after thanksgiving but now someone will have to stay home because we cannot trust anyone to properly tend to her ear or administer medicines. I was at the animal hospital for over 4 hours and not a single call or text from petco to see how my dog was doing. The manager who took her there left shortly after I arrived. I understand that accidents happen. But the initial misinformation, lack of apology, and general disregard for my dog has been utterly unprofessional and totally disappointing.

I would give zero stars if I could…we took our standard schnauzer puppy in today to get a grooming to clean him up for Christmas. We asked the groomer if she knew how to do a standard schnauzer cut and she assured us she did. We came back to a COMPLETELY SHAVED body. She removed his undercoat to the skin. She definitely thought he was a mini schnauzer, which we asked her if she knew the difference (there is a huge difference in a mini and standard schnauzers coat and grooming standard). He looks so bad I don’t know how she could have possibly thought she did a good job. We were too in shock to process what happened to our poor puppy. Stay far, far away. I will be calling for a refund and buying my puppy a shirt to hide this seriously bad grooming job for the next three months until it grows back. Even if he was a mini schnauzer this would have been one of the worst grooming jobs I’ve ever seen. This lady should have her trimmers taken away. She also said he spilled his water on himself in his crate, but turns out it was pee from him being so traumatized that we had to go home and give him a bath. $60 wasted and a traumatized dog is all we got. Never again. I’m usually a very easy going person and NEVER leave a bad review but it’s so bad it’s laughable. Actually, I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. Picture of what a standard schnauzer coat should look like and a picture of how our poor guy came home looking.

We have been loyal customers for a while we moved and switched our location to Saratoga petco. Last time we went she was a little scared and was shaking while grooming. The groomer finished grooming and said she was scared. Next time we try booking an appointment that groomer is no longer working the place is closed. I call another petco and they inform me my dog was referred out and marked unsafe to groom. It's an 8 year old 14 lbs dog who has been groomed her entire life with no problems. Just because she was shaking one day it doesn't mean she needs to be marked unsafe and referred out from the place she has been grommed for a long time. Very frustrating. This is not how you take care of your loyal customers.

We won't be going back for grooming.AFamily member had taken our small dog for grooming 2 months prior while we were out of town. The charge was different than what I would have expected and thought maybe there was something unusual/extra they had to do. I called prior to taking our little guy this time and questioned the previous charges. The individual I spoke to was looking Into it and said he was listed as a medium dog and maybe that has something to do with it. But she wasn't sure so I thought I would ask about it when I dropped him off this time. The manager over grooming told me that maybe he was aggressive and sometimes they charge extra for that. I informed her that I had just asked about how his behavior was when I got the call that he was ready to be picked up and I was told he was docile, very calm. She said maybe the first time he visited was different with his demeanor, being new and all... I let her know the first time he visited our family member was also told he was docile, calm, not aggressive. Then she says had I brought this to her attention sooner she could have done something about it but not now, it's been 2 months. She was pretty rude. we will not be going back ever again. Very disappointing..... Good customer service goes a long way. We'll be sure to share this experience with all of our family and friends. Hopefully it will make a difference to someone considering using their grooming services.

Like many other reviews on this thread; we had a horrible experience taking our pup to Petco for grooming. It is clear their groomers are not actually tenured in that field because they shave the dogs down as much as they can. Our doodle had an EXTREMELY small bit of matting on her back legs. They assured us they would save as much hair as they can and shape it. This was not what happened. Not to mention the “60$” quote is absolute BS. They take in additional charges as soon as you come in to pick your dog up. Please save yourself the trouble and never bring your animal here.

Selene did an AMAZING job grooming my Milo! I have been going to petco groomers for 2 years now and have never been so happy! She patiently listened to what I wanted and did just that. Milo is a dog full of energy (to say the least) and not always easy but Selene took her time, and took such good care of him. Thank you!!! Even he keeps smiling :)

*don’t take your cats here to be groomed*When I called in to get a price estimate to get my cats groomed, I was told $60 per cat.I scheduled two cats on the phone. When I arrived for their appt time, I spoke with the groomer Becky, who was very friendly, that my intention for the appts today was to reduce cat hair in the new house we just moved into. Plan was to shave one cat, and de-shed the other.Becky called early on to tell me one cat bit her and the other hissed so she wasn’t going to shave her.When I picked them up and went to pay, it was $202 ($212 after I had added on a $10 tip for the time and energy)When I got home pet them after, there was even more fur coming off of them than before dropping them off. Handfuls.I would have liked before proceeding with appointments to be informed “if your cat hisses or bites, etc we will still charge you even if we don’t do the full grooming session.”I would have said to not even bother doing anything to the one cat I expected was going to be shaved. She ended up just having a dry bath, if I knew she wasn’t going to be shaved or de-shedded, I would have said to not do anything at all and saved my $100.Becky did call me to inform me they were ready for pick up early on but I didn’t realize in the message that she was still proceeding with a dry bath and I’d be charged full price, I thought she just was going to brush her one knotted spot out.There were lots of surprise fees $15 vip fee “because they are cats” and $6 fees for materials (aren’t i paying for this in the initial $60 price already? Why not just say $81 for a cat and make it clear?) $20 de-shed etcI spoke with both Becky and a manager after and they ended up refunding a big part of the visit for the one cat which I really appreciated and feel was appropriate.There was definitely miscommunication and basic expectations not met.I feel badly the groomer got bit (she said there was a loud dog barking the whole time and the cats were probably scared) and hope she is okay.The one cat who did get a bath and de-shedding did look and smell nice for what that’s worth. Like I said, my intention was to eliminate so much shedding fur and I felt that was not met.Overall I wouldn’t recommend anyone take their cats to be groomed here.The dogs in the background, and the groomers, all seemed happy and that’s probably a different experience and story!

Absolute worst service ever. Sarah “the manager” wouldn’t take our dog to get a basic grooming because she “wasn’t comfortable.” She wouldn’t let anyone of her groomers take the dog. She was more concerned about what they MIGHT be liable for than for the our dog. Our dog is just old. She was groomed with one of the big box groomers in the same exact condition only weeks before. She walks slow, but Sarah insisted it was a limp. She’s fine, no limp, just old. Also, they don’t care about the customers standing in front of them. Waited 15 minutes just to be acknowledged. When it was called to their attention we’d been there for our appointment waiting for someone that had walked in, they obviously had their pride hurt because they were called out for poor service on the spot. Just doubled down on being rude by denying service.

Such a disappointing experience. Took my dog here 3 months ago to get groomed and it went great! Took half the time they estimated and my dog looked great, so I had high hopes and decided to return. I took my dog in at her appt at 2:00, I was even 15 minutes early. They did not give me a time estimate, but I assumed it would be the same as last time. Around 1.5-2hours.By 4:00, I hadn’t received a text and could not get ahold of the groomers. I called the customer service inside Petco and they said my dog would not be done until 6:00. Ummm…excuse me? 4 hours for a bath and a haircut?! I asked him if they had even started because if not, I was just going to cancel and take her home. We don’t even live in draper, we drove 45 minutes for this specific store and just wasted 3+ hours of our day. He said they had just finished her bath. 2 hours for a bath? I said okay well we are coming in to get her and he asked if I wanted to reschedule, obviously I said no. It’s my dogs birthday tomorrow and I wanted her to have a cute, fresh haircut for her first birthday. I am extremely disappointed. If you don’t have enough staff, do not allow people to make appointments!!!!

Beki did a lovely job on our St Berdoodle! She did a full groom and the haircut turned out great. I don’t really have any complaints other than being charged for an XL dog when according to their website she’s a large dog (50-80 lbs). She’s 74 lbs.

Sarah is the best. She loves our dog like he is her own. We kept going to her even after we moved away from that store. Then she moved to another store and even though we live less than a mile from another Petco, we drive out of our way to go to the Draper store just to go to Sarah. When we previously lost one of our dogs, she mourned along with us.

Brought our standard poodle to be groomed. After we scheduled our appointment they told us it would be 3 hours before he would be finished. This was expected based on the package we purchased. 1 1/2 hours in we get a call informing us we need to pick him up since they won’t be able to finish him today and that we need to reschedule another appointment for them to finish, which would take an additional 3 hours. We were also informed it would cost more than initially quoted since he is an “extra large dog”. Even though on their own website when putting in his breed and weight to schedule the appointment he is listed as a “large dog”. This is would have been fine if they told us this before hand, since he is so tall, but since it was after the service it felt like a weird way to make an extra $35. The woman who cut our dog’s fur did a great job. I’m mostly upset with their misleading website and management to whom when I complained said he would have to take away the commissions from the groomer which I absolutely did not want to happen.

They went above and beyond to take care of my dog and make sure he felt comfortable and safe and were able to get his nails done and taken care of. He looked great when I picked him up and they gave great advice on what to do for his next visit for grooming.

I took my 2 Shitzus (Baylie & Bella) in to get groomed on Saturday morning and they looked the best they have EVER looked! Their tails are adorable! I wish I could remember the groomers name because she went above and beyond! I Will be finding out and sticking with her going forward! 👍🏻👍🏻
