The 3 hour ride is absolutely excellent. The wranglers couldn’t be more accommodating. If you had an IPhone they took photos of you on your ride. Our wranglers were Kevin and Mac. They were very informative. I left our car keys in the saddle bag and they brought them to the hotel lobby for us. Horses were nicely cared for. First class operation. Scenery was amazing

We had such a fun time! We booked really last minute and there was only the 1.5 hour tour available but that was plenty for us. I had never ridden a horse before and was pretty nervous, but I learned quickly there wasn’t much to it because the horses are very well trained and just follow each other with the guide in front. If you want to have multiple amazing views, I would recommend the 3 hour tour. If you’d enjoy a calm ride through the forrest, aren’t sure about sitting on a horse for a long time, and want to catch one really amazing view, the 1.5 hour tour will be great. Our guide Ben was a lot of fun and very knowledgeable about horses. He checked on all the riders and their horses multiple times. He also made sure to get everyone’s picture on the canyon rim. Overall great experience and I would recommend!

We went out to Utah and Arizona to visit the National Parks and this was probably my favorite part of the whole trip! The employees and tour guides were super friendly and the ride was awesome!! We didn't actually ride through Bryce Canyon- we rode through Red Canyon. I actually liked it a lot better because there were trees and creeks along the way, which offered some good shade here and there. Very scenic. Our tour guide was very personable, but not to the point that he annoyed us with small talk for the whole ride. It was perfect. For our time slot, the ride ended up just being us and the tour guide, so it was basically a private ride! The horses are very well taken care of and extremely well-trained. I was so impressed.Would HIGHLY recommend you do this if you are visiting Bryce Canyon. Well worth the money! Do it- you'll be glad you did!

My horse Bella and I traveled to Bryce for the Grand Adventure rides. We had 4 days of awesome riding. Our trailboss Kevin was so knowledgeable and the outriders Tommy and Nate were a great addition. They took us to four separate locations one more beautiful than the last. The horse motel was near the hotel and comfortable for Bella. We had dinner together each night at the hotel which was delicious. If you decide to ride one of their horses you won't be disappointed. They have excellent stock sturdy calm and beautiful. If bringing your horse I highly recommend making sure your horse has been worked and is in shape as the rides can be challenging and you have the altitude to contend with. This was an adventure I will never forget. If you want to see the Bryce Canyon area this is the way to go.

We did the 1.5hr trip and was great! I was concerned about this Frank guy from reviews but he was super cool and professional. Don’t let these other reviews stop you this place was first class. Frank did a great job at making sure a bunch of newbies & 2,000lb animals didn’t get hurt. We had Paige & Lauren as guide of a group of 12 and it went awesome even the horses chose to do their own thing once. Great views and just long enough not leave you sore. While your here get the old time photo done at Ruby’s Inn that guy was really good at setting everything up

All I can say is WOW! What a super friendly staff. They made our whole experience so freaking sweet! Frank the tour guide is awesome he really knows customer satisfaction. I am 230 lbs the website said they can have up to 260 but they did not have a hourse ready for me at the time we were set to depart so he went up and above to make sure he would have a hourse ready for the next tour and kept us entertained in the meantime. Make sure to call before and let them know you are over the 220 lbs so they have a heads up. Great job Frank and staff!

Superb horseback riding experience! Kevin and Whitney provided a positive attitude and a plethora of information on our trail ride into Losee Canyon. We learned about Hodoos and local vegetation and even a little history about the canyon and Ruby’s Legacy. The ride was easy and laid back with awesome horses and excellent guides. Looking forward to coming back and doing the Thunder Mountain Trailride.

The short version of my review: my family loved every second of this! My kids (ages 16,14, and 10) had never ridden horses before, and our guides made sure all of us knew how to be good riders and have fun. The trail is a beautiful walk through a pine forest area that leads to the rim of Bryce. Our horses were all sweet and well trained, and our guides took extra care to borrow our phones and take pictures for us as we went. The long and funny story:My oldest son has Autism. That affects everyone in different ways, but you can kind of imagine my son as a mellow version of Buddy the Elf. I was concerned about this journey because he finds learning new physical tasks very challenging sometimes, and he sometimes feels unsure about riding high up on his bike (somehow hiking Angel's Landing feels totally safer to him than biking on pavement.) But he LOVES animals SO much! He absolutely adores our dog, his classroom pet lizard, you name it.Somehow, those things were fine. He was able to get right up on his horse and seemed to feel very secure up there. Learning to hold the reins was tricky, but he was figuring it out.It turns out that what I should have been concerned about is how he spoils his dog rotten. If our dog wants to stop and sniff every single bush in his path for 3 minutes each, my son lets him. If that dog wants to take 13 right turns in a row, he lets him. And of course he feeds tiny bits of all of his meals to that little fluff ball.So when his horse, Rooster, went off the path to get a small nibble of grass only a few feet out of the gate, my son ignored all of us instructing him to pull the reins in and just giggled. I think with any other rider, Rooster would have very quickly learned that such behavior was not okay, and would have happily stayed in line. But instead, he quickly figured out that his rider actually LOVED his misbehavior. Which made Rooster think "Jackpot!" The rest of the ride, Rooster was taking every chance he could to get a tasty bit of grass or even to walk over small trees and get a belly scratch. We all were repeating the advice our guides were giving my son - "shorten the reins!" "pull him back!" "give him a tap with the stick!" but my son only followed through half heartedly. He was in love, and no matter how much we assured him that Rooster was well fed and well cared for, he was sure. "Rooster needs more snacks!"Now, how would you feel if you were one of our guides? Did you guess exasperated? Annoyed? I would have guessed that. But I have to tell you, Frank and Kendra could not have been kinder about it. They were 100% patient with him, calmly helping him along. Sometimes they would let that duo have their fun for a minute, but Frank would come along and use his own horse to nudge my son's back in line. Especially along the ridge, they made sure that my son felt safe, happy and confident up there every step of the way. Instead of making us feel like we maybe shouldn't have brought him, they informed us through lots of laughter that "we just love your family!" and "you guys have made our WEEK!"It was, hands down, the best part of our epic Spring Break journey!

10/10 would recommend! The wranglers were fantastic. The horses and mules were selected for each person based on height/weight/experience. The 1.5 hour ride was sufficient for someone who had not ridden a horse before. The trail we went on went through the Dixie Forest to an overlook of Bryce Canyon. It was gorgeous. Remember to pet your horses and tip your wranglers!

I went on the 3 hour ride. There were 8 people in our group. And we just followed the leader in single file, nonstop, with no opportunity to talk to each other or take pictures.I was very disappointed that there was no information provided by the leader (cannot be rated as a guide) about the surrounding area - Vegetation, wildlife, rock formation,- there was nothing!!We went out and back on the same path. The only time she spoke to us was at the turn around point, when she asked how we were doing. Even then, she didn't show any concern for people who had discomfort in the saddle. At this point, she took our pictures and said she was going to air drop or email them to us. But then, never did a thing about it.At one point, my horse fell down on his front knees, when I expressed my concern, I was told that sometimes the horses fall asleep while walking..... (what!!!??)

So fun! My 13 year old and I did this today. While there are negative reviews about Frank, he was absolutely fantastic. My son can't wait to go again! We saw deer and antelope too. Thank you for a fun day!

Beware of Kevin McGee, who claims to make chincs for you. He never followed through with making them for me and my friend. We both lost our deposits. However, the rest of the vacation was exceptional. Exceeded expectations, but Mr. McGee causes me to only give 4 stars instead of 5.

Really great experience. I would highly recommend these tours to anyone. Brian and Kate were great guides and actually very knowledgeable about the history of Bryce Canyon and Dixie national forest. They were able to answer any questions we threw at them and even told us some cool fun facts that I didn’t know previously! A great tour for experienced or inexperienced horseback riders alike

My wife and I just completed our Grand Adventure for the second time. We enjoyed the adventure so much the first time, we came back again this year. This is not a dude ranch ride ... this is the real deal. There is a limit to the number of riders on each adventure so you don't feel like you're just one of a large group. The wranglers are very knowledgeable about the history of the area and explain the sights you see along the trails. Evening meals on the rim of the canyon are followed by different entertainment each night. If you love horseback riding in beautiful country, and you want great value for your vacation dollar, sign up for Ruby's Grand Adventure early, because they fill up quickly.

Horseback riding down Bryce Canyon was a amazing experience. It was mine and my son's first time riding a horse. The horses are well trained and the guide was very professional and quick to your rescue. I mention rescue bc I had no control of my hat with the wind and my horse finally had enough. This tour is definitely worth taking with spectacular views. We will definitely go back.

We went on a trail ride in October and had such a great time. The couple that led our ride were wonderful. It was a great ride to bring our whole family on and I would highly recommend if you are looking for a way to see more of the beautiful hoodoos and scenery that you go with Ruby's!

This is a place where I felt discriminated and I don’t recommend anyone coming. It was my first experience and I was very excited about the ride. I didn’t realize that me and my family were all assigned mules instead of horses until I showed my picture to my friends.I would be fine if they told me earlier that for any reasons they only had mules for all three of us. However, they didn’t say anything about it. I booked a horse ride, not a mule ride. If they were to make any changes from a horse to a mule, they should inform us. What they did to us was very sneaky and unethical! In addition, I checked the pictures for all the riders on the same trip and guess what - there were only 4 mules and we got 3 of them while the other non-caucasian got the other one. We were the only Asians in that trip and I believe that this is not an coincidence. They discriminate and deceive people! Don’t ever come here! Worst experience ever.*We were the left three riders. You can easily tell from the picture that the rider on the right side had a horse while we all got mules!!!***Reply to the owner’s response below:Fact: There are total 11 riders on that trip, including 1 Caucasian couple with 2 kids(7 and 8 years old), 1 Caucasian couple without kids, 2 black females, and 3 Asians(us). Only 1 black female and 3 Asians got mules. The rest of them all got horses, even those two 7 and 8 years old kids without any riding experience. (I know this because their parents mentioned it during the briefing)1. Discrimination - If like you said the mules are safer and better for inexperience riders, why did’t you assign the mules to those two 7 & 8 years old kids??? The fact that you only assigned Asians and black adults mules is an obvious discrimination.2. Deception - This is outrageous for you to argue that the difference between a horse and a mule is obvious even for inexperience riders and that you don’t have to at least tell your customers what they are getting. You advertise yourself as horseback adventure yet you think it is okay to use mules as an alternative without any notification? Why don’t you advertise yourself as mule ride? There is no better example of deception than this. You should be sorry and ashamed of what you did to us rather than making ridiculous excuses!!!!!!!!!The facts speak for themselves.

We booked the 1.5 hour horseback riding tour and we're totally not satisfied. The horses were really sweet but the guide was not really a guide. He did not say a word to us and was continuously on his phone while riding his horse. The majority of the ride took place in the forest and the rim of Bryce National Park was only visible for like 5 minutes. This view was amazing but we didn't even get the opportunity to stop for a few minutes to take pictures. Also no information was given about the spectacular rock formations and we didn't know that those 5 minutes would be the only time we were going to see Bryce during the tour. Moreover it was scandalous that the tour took only a little longer than 1 hour while we paid for 1,5 hour. Even while we were back almost 30 minutes earlier, taking a picture of us on the horse was almost to much of an effort. In our opinion, it was not worth the 75 dollars at all.

This was disappointing in that we rode in a straight line for one and a half hours with no opportunity to trot, or even move from our designated space in line or the trail. It was a very slow walk without much change of scenery, other than a short walk along the rim of the canyon.

The ride into Bryce Canyon was so fun!! My fiance and I are both completely unexperienced with horses and it was our first time riding them but it went great! We got the "troublemakers" in the back of the line. Horses were calm and stayed on track the whole time besides some funny stops to try to eat grass. Awesome experience!

We had a blast doing the thunder mountain trail today. Kendra, our guide, was simply fantastic. The horses are well trained and looked healthy and well treated. The staff at the front desk was amazing. We did some trails before, this one was, by far, the best. It was a pleasure to ride Willie and Shorty. We would recommend it anyone. A little confusion only occurred with the booking process: the 4 hour Thunder Mountain Trail is recommend for people who rode before but on Viator and GetYourGuide you cannot see that and it’s also recommended for first time rider.

I have very little experience with horses but I was extremely comfortable with every aspect of the journey. It was thanks to the great staff and our tour guide Kate. There were only 4 of us on tour and it was great to learn about some history and talk story while looking at fantastic sights. Kate seemed genuinely interested in getting to know us all and was having as much of a blast as we were. Since I'm from Hawaii, I had a lot of questions that must have seemed a little silly, but Kate didn't mind answering them and having a good amount of fun with it. I also really liked all the horses there, my favorite being Chum of course, and all their little personality quirks. I loved the experience and recommend Ruby's Horseback Adventures!

Ivy and Kate were fantastic guides. We had the best horse trek ever! Would definitely request them as our guides again! The views were phenomenal and their knowledge of the area and history was a great plus. The Ivy and Kate show was unbeatable with their fun and down to earth personalities. Would recommend them to anyone considering the journey

Our family really enjoyed the 1.5 ride. We have 3 boys, 1 is only 7 year old so we opted for the shorter ride. It would have been nice to go a bit into the canyon but it was a good length of time since it was the first time riding for the boys. The guides were professional and friendly.
