Every time I come in to buy food for my chinchilla, her brand Oxbow is out of stock. This has happened the last three times I’ve gone in. The small animal chew toy selection is incredibly small, and also a majority of the chews are unsafe and a great risk of compaction for most small animals, especially chinchillas. The manager who signed me up for the premium membership was very nice but unfortunately I will be cancelling that since I always have to drive across town to petsmart to get what I need.

I am going to rate Petco three stars for this visit specifically.They went to get some canned dog food and they had several options on clearance. So I picked four or five and went up to pay. After scanning the canned dog food only one of them was listed as a clearance item. I let the cashier know that they all were on clearance and he said well they're not showing up that way. I asked him if I should go back and take pictures and he says yeah you better. So I did it added a good 15 minutes to my visit here. I'm not going to rate anything else except for that experience with the cashier. It wasn't even busy he could have gone back with me to help he could have done so much more than what he did. He was a lazy young man.

The fish tanks look horrible. Sick and dead fish, dirty glass. Snails in every tank. NO ONE WANTS SNAILS. And once you get them you can't get rid of them. Fun the tanks ir stop selling fish. Also my son wanted to buy his daughter a gold fish and the cashier wouldn't sell it to him because he Saud they get big and the tank they had wasn't big enough. He said his boss would fire him if he sold us that fish. First off I've been doing aquariums for 50 years. I know what I'm doing. I have and my son has several ranksNot just the small one he was buying. Tell the teller to just sell the customer what they want. Stop telling me what I cant buy. I've forgotten more about aquariums than this cashier and manager will ever know. So we left the tank and stuff to go in it and went to Pet Smart where they sold us what we wanted. Petco really needs to rethink their fish depth. Looks real bad

Horrible. I walked in with my sister she was happy she was gonna get a fish they asked for the size of tank we told him it was big but he didn't believe us he refused to gave us two fishes he only gave us one when we needed two. Worst petco we went to petsmart they didn't even ask for the size of the tank the staff of petsmarts are better then this place the cashier is rude he yelled at us, he hurried is up. Made me and my sister feel awkward why need to be 18 To be available to buy a fish?? Or to buy a fish for someone this is awful.

Went today. Waited 15 minutes for help. Went to cashier, she tried to send someone to help me. Nobody came. 25% of the beta were literally dead. The fish were barely moving in the tanks. The goldfish tank had a huge mass of dead goldfish and they were eating the dead ones. It was so gross and sad.

Brought my six year old in to choose a goldfish. She was so excited to buy it with money she had saved! Ethan came to the fish station to help us. He asked what size of aquarium we were putting this 1/2 inch dime-a-dozen fish in. Five gallon tank at home. I kid you not, Ethan refused to sell a fish to us! This kid literally says, "anything under 40 gallon aquarium at home, you're not going home with a goldfish today!"You're really going to lose a sale over a 40 cent fish that's currently in a tank with a thousand others?I took my daughter to PetSmart, and the sweetest old man was so excited to net a goldfish for my daughter. She paid for it and walked out the proudest girl! No questions about tank size. Because the guy at PetSmart has common sense.I have now canceled my auto cat food and litter orders from Petco. PetSmart has gained a new customer.

Do not go to this location to get a pet cut! They did such a terrible job on my dog. Patches were left on the stomach and rear area. We paid for a Halloween bow and didn't get one. Their response to that was that they used "special Halloween soap" and we couldn't get our money back. We also paid for her nails to get clipped and they did nothing to them. I got all scratched up by her when she came back. Only shaved her body and left the face alone so she looks terrible. Overall will never go there again. Such a poor experience with both the service and management.

Garrett is always so awesome and helpful! There was only one box of canned kitten food in the shelf and it was 30% off if 2 were purchased together at the same time. I will be leaving for a trip before the next shipment for the store came in so he was gracious enough to give me 15% off of the one left on the shelf so that I had enough food for my little one while I was out of town. He was very patient and professional Thank you for your help Garrett! You're a very kind and helpful gentleman 😊

The return policy on dog food is my primary reason. I tried a new kibble (my 5-year old shih tzu HATES ... I'm saying HATES ... kibble). For the first time in his life, the kibble passed the "sniff test" and he ate the few bits I gave him. I think this is going to be a WINNER!

Staff was great. Helpful and knowledgeable.My dogs previous visit records weren't available. Not showing with our account. Was told something about a system upgrade. Vaccine records are important and a major part of your service. Do better.

If I could rate this store and the customer service a ZERO! I would! It’s not even worth 1 star! Worst customer service ever! I dropped my dog off to be groomed, this dog has been getting groomed since he was a puppy. Very well behaved, kind, gentle soul. 45min. later I receive a call that I have to come get my dog immediately. He has diarrhea and there is blood in it. I can understand the severity of the situation, he is my fur baby. When they called I was at the hospital receiving a infusion. I said I would be there in 45min-60min. There response was come get your dog now. I replied would you like me to rip the IV out? They said we’ll figure it out or get someone to pick him up. I don’t have anyone? Is it an uncommon thing that maybe other family members or friends might be working? So here I am trying to relax, receiving an infusion and getting threatened by the assistant manager. Pick up your dog or else. I finished my infusion and opted not to wait for observation since you know I was being threatened by PetCo managers. I’m about 5-10 min away and receive another call. It’s the store manager, I replied I’m on my way. And when I get there I would like the district managers name and phone number. He replied no you will deal with me. I said no I would like the number and he said no you will deal with me. So I’m not quite sure if they wanted me to get an Uber to pick up my dog but they were out of line!After I left there i immediately went to my Vet and Bentley is fine, unfortunately he ate something that didn’t agree with him. But you know I’m so neglectful not ripping the IV out of my arm or hiring an Uber to pick up my dog. Run away from this place! There is many more decent places to get great customer service.

No means no. If someone says they don’t want to sign up for your rewards program, move along, finish the transaction. Garrett would not drop the issue and just kept going on and on. I finally told him I used to work in retail, I know corporate puts pressure to get more rewards accounts and credit cards opened, it’s just a part of the job… but I don’t care, I just want to leave with my cat food. He refuses to relent, and just so I can END this exchange and be on my way, I give him my name and phone number so that I can leave (which I so desperately wanted to). After giving him my information, he says, “I’ve never seen anyone be so upset about saving money.” Cool, so now he’s insulting me?!? I’m upset because you wouldn’t take four no’s (two verbal and two hand gestures) for an answer. I’ve never wanted to cuss someone out so badly, but I’m exhausted and take my things and leave.I almost got home when I decide to instead go to PetSmart in Centerville and see how things would play out there. The cashier asked me for my phone number, I sharply said “no,” she then asks, “anything fun planned for the day?” I immediately gush over her reaction and explain what happened at PetCo in Bountiful, and what she said is A+ retail skills: “That was a pretty clear ‘no,’ so I’m gonna move on. If you had gave a casual ‘nah’ or looked confused, I would have taken the time to explain the program and ask if you’re interested in signing up. Like I always try to read the room.” She gets it. Garrett doesn’t.

Good selection of fish. Moderately helpful staff. They will not sell fish after 7pm. Good selection of fish tanks and supplies. However we went to PetSmart for a tank. Better price for the size we wanted.

I've had a mix of experiences here. My first visit was great where the team member walked bath with my wife and I to talk about dog food that she recommends. I had another visit where I was trying to get an item. Was difficult to find someone to help me out. When I found someone they wanted to just get rid of me and barely helped. I ended up doing an online order to get the item. Luckily I had shopping to do at the neighboring stores. It was mostly just the one team member that has made it a lousy experience there. The rest of the staff I've ran into have been mostly pretty nice.

Horrible shopping experience!!! The sign on the door said short handed but I counted 5 employees! 2 on register and 3 wandering around. 2 of the 3 were more interested in hooking up with each other than helping me with some fish and plants. I decided to say screw it and am going to petsmart instead. Time to cancel that vital care plan too!

My daughter went in and bought a small hampster ball with her own money. I had her check out by herself and we went to the car. While driving home she put the ball together and it broke. We went back to the store to exchange it for a new one and they would not let us. My daughter did not get a receipt and although we had all the packaging and had been there just 20 min earlier they said they would not exchange it for a new one. So disappointing that there are still companies out there with such poor customer service and who do not stand behind their products. We will not be shopping here in the future for any reason and I would encourage you not to either!

Absolutely horrible. I was looking in the cat area for 45 minutes trying to find something, and no one reached out to help. Found an attendant, and she was sitting on the floor on her phone texting. Went to check out, the man who had long hair was so inconsiderate. He had a negative tone and was forcefully moving my items around, warping heavy plastic and almost breaking the items I had bought. This is not the first negative experience I have had here, and I'm certain it won't be the last. They are also very lacking in the aquatics area. Just go to PetSmart at this point.

honestly for the most part, great location. garrett and autumn are my absolute favorites! many people have a problem in particular with an employee here named casey (however it’s spelled). every time i come in and he is working, i know i won’t be getting good customer service or really anything done in a timely manner. several occasions i go in and he’s on his phone, playing god knows what, completely checked out of the actual job he is at. i will ask for assistance and he will call anyone and everyone else to help instead of doing it himself. he has spun/shook feeders and animals in front of me before i have purchased them. my last visit he stared at every inch of my body - except for my face and eyes - until my husband was standing next to me. after that, he disappeared from the register and we waited to check out for a while. this employee makes not only me, but many other customers uncomfortable. it is sincerely unprofessional, and has shown his own pattern in that aspect. i am disappointed every time he is there. the rest of the team at this store is pretty awesome - always knows how to help me find what i need, gives good suggestions, and are personable people!

Garrett is very rude and needs customer service training. His aquatics team member didn't know what he was doing so Garrett assumed we needed his "advice." Also Cameron was on his phone the whole time until I had to ask him to get the fish, he walked around us multiple times without even acknowledging we were there.

We normally shop at PetSmart in Centerville but wanted to try Petco in Bountiful for the first time. We happened to walk in at 8pm when they close but there was still a line and the doors where open before we could even take another step one of their employees rushed over to us very rudely and unprofessionally telling us we needed to leave because they are closed. For this being our first time we will definitely not be returning. We weren’t aware they where closed and didn’t mind returning another time but the rude customer service and unprofessional manner their Caucasian employee with long hair, short, chubby, facial hair with a hat backwards approached us to leave definitely left a bad taste with us. We will happily continue to take our business to PetSmart!

I’m very unhappy with petco. The sale attendant did not explain the terms of getting vital care when I was in a rush to pay after my visit. I should have been told that it is a contract you can’t back out of for a year from the day you pay. I should not have gotten it. I am now locked in to pay 20 dollars a month for the next year with no way to cancel it. After buying it I realized I’m paying way more a month than I will use in benefits. I’m bothered there is not at least a 1 to 2 week time frame to cancel after purchase.

The store manager would not issue a refund or discount for a terrible grooming job. Refused to give me contact information for the district manager and treated me as of I were a criminal. Horrible customer service, she should not be a supervisor. The only saving grace was the actual grooming salon manager. She offered to fix the issues happily and recognized that her employee did a terrible job.

Please note they will not sell you anything that is alive 30 mins before closing. Don’t buy anything here go to pet smart in Centerville. They are friendlier and kind.We wanted to buy a fish for a friend as a gift but the sales agent refused to sell me a fish until I had a larger enough tank that could keep it alive for 7 years and set up that has been treated for 5 days. He criticized my decision to give a fish as a gift. He questioned my ability to keep a .22 cent goldfish alive and said he has the authority to refuse to sell me a fish. You think he would of tried to sell me one of his tanks (even though I had a tank) but he never even tried to sell me anything. Terrible sells guy, wonder how this place stays in business.
