We were lucky to get a room here before sunset. Could do the fantastic drive up Burr Trail and then come back to the lodge for a pleasant evening. We stayed in a large room with two queen beds right next to the open air hot tub. The room had an adjacent common room with a fireplace. All have its the best impression of Boulder Mountain Lodge.

Great place to stay in Boulder, super charming, cozy and romantic. The lake view room was beautiful, nicely decorated and supplied with high quality linens, Aveda products, comfortable bed.The food from the restaurant on-site was excellent and so was their service.

What a wonderful experience for our family of four. Two grown-ups and two kids (teen and preteen) all had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. We got adjoining rooms, and slept well. The lobby areas and balconies gave us space to spread out to read, take work calls, and hang out after hours. The food was fantastic (of course) and the views were incredible. The only complaint was that wifi needed to be restarted a couple of times - but ultimately that just gave the kids more screen free time! I've visited Boulder many times over the last 2 decades, and always crash on someone's couch, or stay on nearby BLM land, but the Lodge was a wonderful treat for all of us. We'll certainly be going back, and recommend it to our friends.Food & drinks: The dining was incredible. A little on the pricey side, but that's to be expected with the semi-remote location and quality of food, so I'm glad we budgeted for that. There are plenty nearby food options to supplement what is available onsite. cocktails were spot on.

The view! Comfy, the architecture is super...wood and more wood and comfort. Staff is super nice...had a great 4 nights there in September. We'd stay again in a heartbeat...only wish they had breakfast included...hard boiled eggs or even those typical powdered eggs...apple/banana? Thank you - we had a great time!!! Oh, the balcony at the rear with adirondack chairs...zzzzz...I got relaxed in a hurry...and the manager, the long-haired tabby said hello from below...lovely time!!!

Spent a weekend and was not disappointed. The rooms are comfortable. The hot tub is a nice touch. I love the restaurant on the property and just all that can be done in terms of outdoors and all the local activities. I will definitely be back. I highly recommend.Rooms: Very nice and clean. Comfortable beds.Nearby activities: Amazing restaurant right on the property. Amazing hiking all around. Awesome town to visit museums and coffee shops and restaurants and what not.Safety: Felt very safe. Safe enough to let my son run around freely on the property.Walkability: Amazing restaurant on property. There is tons to do on the other parts of the property as well.Food & drinks: There’s a convenient store right down the street that has a liquor store. There’s an amazing restaurant on the property.Noteworthy details: Hells backbone is a must go to. This is just a peaceful location.

Stumbling distance from an incredible 5star restaurant. Similar to a national park lodge. Rustic construction, large sitting area, beautiful common balcony that overlooks pond. Hot tub, grounds to walk, close to red rock country. One horse town, but that is okay. Unless u want to eat in the restaurant and breakfast from food truck, bring your own. Room was spacious. Slight musty odor goes with the territory. Well priced accommodation.

I am so jealous of all the people who had such a wonderful time at this place. I went for my 65th birthday expecting to make some good memories. Unfortunately my birthday fell in October during some Utah school thing so the place had more screaming children than adults. Not anything like the peaceful, blah blah blah claims on their website. When I complained they said I should come again when the school thing isn’t going on. So it was my own fault I had a terrible time because I chose to come during this Utah school thing. I had hoped my 65th birthday would be special but it was a disaster.

My husband and I stayed here at the end of March. The Lodge is on beautiful grounds. We had an upstairs room that was spacious and clean. The shared balcony gives you the opportunity to sit in comfy chairs and take in the scenery. This is a place where you exhale. The Burr Trail starts about 50 feet from The Lodge’s entrance. Unfortunately, Hell’s Backbone Grill was closed, but this just means we’ll have to return. The staff was helpful with dining option suggestions as options are limited in the area. Highly recommend Boulder Mountain Lodge.

One of my favorite places I’ve ever stayed! The rooms are exceptionally clean (and we stayed in a pet friendly room!), the beds were comfortable, the customer service was friendly and genuine, and the atmosphere on the campus was incredibly peaceful and relaxing. The rooms were also very quiet, we could not hear the other guests at all.The bird pond 🦆was an added bonus, and there is an amazing restaurant and coffee shop within a 2-3 minute walk from your room! There is also a TON of gorgeous hiking within a short drive any direction leaving town 😁⛰.If you’re looking for a peaceful “home base” for your southern Utah adventure, you’ve found it here!

Boulder Mountain Lodge accommodated our stay during our elopement on the Burr Trail. They had dog friendly rooms and were able to put our photographer in the room next to us. The grounds are gorgeous, the rooms were clean, and the staff made our stay convenient from the point of booking all the way to check out. An added bonus was that all of the rooms were 50% off! Thank you! We look forward to celebrating our anniversary with you in our many happy years to come!

We planned an entire road trip from Phoenix in order to eat at next door Hell's Backbone Grill. Given the fact that I bet many guests are there for the same reason, the lodge staff seems a bit ambivalent about the restaurant being there, and couldn't even tell us what time they opened. Room was not ready when we got there at 330 but that was okay since we raced across the lawn to wait in line for first seating at HBG at 4. We had an upstairs room -- it was huge! good kitchenette, really comfy beds. nice balcony with a beautiful view, but the man in the next room who shared the balcony made it clear he did not want me out there. Like every other hotel we stayed at, not enough electrical outlets. Not crazy about sink in the room as if someone has to use it in the middle of the night it wakes the other guest. We wouldn't spring for the more expensive upstairs room again, as all the rooms have great views and hauling our luggage up the stairs was a bit much for us. If you find yourself on Highway 12 (which you should) and eat at Hell's Backbone Grill (which you should) stay here. It was pleasant.

A beautiful destination in remote Utah. The lodging was absolutely lovely. The suite had a luxurious feel which is impressive given the competing surrounding stunning vistas. Be prepared for bugs, poor cell service, and some WiFi hiccups (you are in the middle of nowhere, after all). It is a worthwhile escape from the city, and is a good stop for your exploration of Utah's natural wonder.

This is a very special place, one we hope to return to! We stayed in four great places on our trip through Colorado and Utah, but Boulder Mountain Lodge is where we truly left our heart! We had initially been unable to get a reservation online, but when we called the lodge and spoke to Erika, she worked out a way for us to have a two night stay in two different rooms - not ideal wethought, but as it turned out, it was just fine! They worked to make the room change quick and easy, and we enjoyed both the upstairs queen with the shared balcony, with easy access to the hot tub for the evenings, and our downstairs double queen had patio access to the pond for early morning bird watching. The lodge is ideally located next to the Burr Trail, a stunningly beautiful drive. Just a few miles drive down the road is an easy walk to the lovely Singing Canyon. Be sure to get the map at check-in which shows you lots of places to walk, hike and drive nearby. This place is already very special, but having Hell's Backbone Grill (HBG) on the property makes the stay truly heavenly. We had two absolutely delicious dinners, met one of the chefs, and upon reading the HBG books which are on the nightstand in each room, came to appreciate how thoughtful the owners of the lodge and the restaurant proprietors both are in providing a place for people to appreciate the natural beauty of this region, the importance of preservation of the land and of sustainable ways of life.Speaking of which, we also appreciated that this was the only place we stayed where staff wore masks (we visited during a COVID surge). We also appreciated the comfy beds, walks around and near the property, the lodge shop and the HBG pantry shop, and the interesting guests who also shared our love of nature. Honestly, we wish we could have stayed for a week!

Stayed here a few times 20 years ago, and finally had the chance to come back. It was awesome then and even more so now. The rooms are wonderful, the grounds, breathtaking. Staff was great and they are still going the extra mile to keep everyone safe during the pandemic. Rooms and common areas sanitized and cleaned constantly. I can't recommend BML enough.

I had the absolute joy of staying here. I had been too tired to keep driving to where i was supposed to be staying even though it was only another hour to hour and half away. I had stopped at another hotel in the area and they didn't have wifi and they referred me to here. So when i pulled in and I spoke to Erika and explained my situation and she found me in a room. The room was welcoming and relaxing. However being so over tired i was not able to sleep and i found myself walking the grounds barefoot and taking photos. (Some will end up on my website shortly). I saw Erika and we had a wonderful chat and I felt so welcomed here and almost wanted to stay another day to bad i needed to continue journey the following day.I will always be thankful for this place and their kindness ❤ and for Erika for being there when i needed to stop and take a breath 💖

We stayed at the lodge for a wedding and we truly loved it. Our room was spacious, clean, and had a beautiful view of the bird sanctuary. Loved the grounds, loved the area, and the food at Hell's Backbone was top-notch. If you love exploring the wild outdoors by day but enjoying genuine comfort at the end of your day, this is a great homebase for checking out many of Utah's amazing national parks. It was pricier than anywhere we usually stay, but well worth every penny.

What an incredible gem! I stayed here for my birthday on the 2nd floor suite overlooking the bird sanctuary. It was so quaint and seemingly rustic but had all the amenities of a resort. Hell's Backbone is a great establishment to dine while there. The woman at the front desk gave us some valuable info on the area upon check-in along with maps we used when we lost service along Highway 12. Everything was clean and so comfy. Highly recommend.

Cannot wait to be back! I will absolutely be staying whenever I am in the area and can't recommend Boulder Mountain Lodge highly enough. Erika helped be check-in and was so kind and helpful with suggestions for my stay. My room and the whole property were lovely - especially the hot tub that guests could reserve for private use to ensure social distancing!

Very friendly and super accommodating to all of our needs. When we got there, PJ was there waiting for us since we got in late, and took the time to explain everything for us to have the best night possible. The hot tub is huge and could comfortably fit 5 or more people. There are several decks to hang out on, It had fireplaces all over and huge comfy couches, games, exercise room, everything was beautifully decorated! Thank you to our hosts, we will be coming back here for sure.

I did not stay at the lodge but ate at Hell's Backbone Grill. One of the best meals I have ever had. The goat cheese fondue, the lamb meatballs and the posento were delicious. Get as many small plates as possible. I bought the cookbooks since I need to recreate the ginger bread dessert. Such a great space. If you are in Utah it worth the drive.
